This round I'm focused again on following an anti-inflammatory diet. Holding steady or losing - both work for me!
Goals:
Food ~~ 1430 calories max; P 15-25%, C 35-50%, F 25-35%; anti-inflammatory diet.
Exercise: 60 minutes/day of walking/swimming + daily stretching.
Weight ~~ maintain or lose slowly.

Still hurting, but I'm excited to see the doctor in integrative medicine this morning and, hopefully, get a non-prednisone handle on this pain. Happy to be below 145 to start this round!

I was stunned to see this number this morning! It's the lowest I've been in probably 3 decades (though I was just slightly more 2 years ago, before I did a metabolism reset). I don't know that it will stick -- my calories were artificially low yesterday as I had to fast 12 hours for early morning blood work -- but still!!! It's a rainy Friday here, but I'm hurting slightly less and feeling much more hopeful after seeing the integrative doctor yesterday. I'm hoping to work on my home (only!) office today and then shop for a standing (adjustable) desk -- I'm finally feeling like getting back to work on my next book. Have a lovely weekend, all!

Happy Saturday! The first flower is blooming on my new climbing rose - I'll take that as a happy omen. And although my stated goal for this round is to maintain, with any loss a bonus, I'm secretly hoping to hit 142 by the end. But I am adding some calories - I've been a bit too low. Macros have been good, though.

8/16 This morning 137 pounds. Concert last night. My food was over my macros. Gym tonight.
8/17 - 136 pounds. Ran an hour last night. Food was on point except for late-night snack.
8/18 -133 pounds. Part of this is dehydration. Outdoor concert in the heat last night and a 40 min run this morning. I expect to see a bit of a rebound gain in the next few days.

I'll try & join you! It's my first time here.
Day 1 (8/16) : morning weight 55.8 kg (organized a bbq the day before, binge eaten my way through the day, and went to bed with my stomach in pain, poor sleep quality, a disaster to keep it simple. On the 16 I went to the gym for one hour, great time. I was on a night shift, I ate a couple of candies to stay motivated, ended up eating a whole mac flurry after a huge dinner/breakfast at 2 am.
Day 2 (8/17) : 10 am : 54.5 kg. Had comfort food after the night shift : a peace of chocolate zucchini cake & a handful of almonds. Went swimming 2.5 km, felt really great. I'm going to a bbq tonight, I'll keep this post in mind to avoid gulping.
Day 3 (8/18) : ended up eating a piece of every cakes that was on the table yesterday (yeah I know, not the plan...) so 55.2 kg. Went to the gym, spinned for 30', made delicious crepes (no sugar, no butter though), resist the urge to buy a new pair of (un-necessary) shoes. This week has been a disaster, but I've come to the realization that what I need to do is stop the snacking, eat what feels good during meal time, and give less credit to the calories at the end of the day. As long as I don't stuff or starve myself, I'm already beginning to improve my behavior around food.
Day 4 (8/19) : 54.5 kg. Healthy breakfast, didn't thought about the pralines in my ward's fridge, and went swimming. Thinking about tonight's meal already, it's going to be delicious (and I may be able to keep up with my intakes goal today )

•8/16 - 187 - WOW. I haven't retained fluid like this for a while.
•8/17 - 185 - Okay, it's ON fluid retention. Drank my ACV & lemon water this morning and will be increasing my water consumption to 100+ ozs daily. I'll be drinking a cup of parsley tea later and will continue doing that every day until I don't feel like spongebarb any longer. And SLEEP! That's what my weight increase and this drop is from, not enough and a recoup. Getting there, still retaining. I also need to revise my food diary today. Acceptable foods that cause me no problems, but I need to not eat them at this time.
•8/18 - 185.6 - It's going to be a battle. I'm ready.
•8/19 - 185.8 - OOoooo I had a feeling that once I reached 186 I would plateau. I looked 2 rounds back, I never touched on 186. My body is such a tease. And yeah, still retaining fluid. Well, since I can't seem to break away from these 185 increments, I may as well update my MFP progress to this minus point 8 lb

8/16 - 180.0 lbs Good start 😊 Had to go 80 calories over my goal yesterday long after I had finished my diary, I was feeling really hungry.
8/17 - 181.0 lbs (+ 1.0) It is SO hard for me to get past 180. I don’t get it.. What do you want from me body? I was very thirsty when I wake up, so I actually drank a lot of water before weighing. I usually weigh on an empty stomach.
8/18 - 180.2 lbs (- 0.8) I think it’s hard because I’ve been around this weight for many years.. So it just doesn’t come off that easy. Is that a thing? I can’t wait to see 175, then I’ll know that I am over this hard phase and that it’s actually possible to lose more.

8/16 72kg - almost within cals yesterday, walked 12k steps, but no other exercise. Skipped my run this morning as I needed the extra hour in bed after a bad night. Work takes priority this week before holidays
8/17 - 71 whoosh! It could be 70.5, but I don't want to get overly excited yet. Within cals yesterday, walked 11k steps and went for a short run this morning, only 20mins as per my 5-10k plan.
I had been planning to only eat back half my exercise cals back, but I struggle with that.
8/18 71kg despite some self sabotaging emotional eating yesterday. I ended up not logging.
Today is a travel day, only a short flight, but the whole trip still takes about 5hours and then sister's birthday party
8/19 holiday back home til 26th - 72kg on parent's digital scale. I'm not going to log food this week and just be mindful where possible. I will over eat, I know that and that's ok. I really want this holiday to be not stressful - logging unknown / never-logged / homemade foods would stress me.
I had a lovely time last night with lots of snacks and some drinks, bu managed to go for my run today and will make more of an effort to get my 10k steps in. Moving to earn more cals is my strategy while here.

8/16 155.2 Weak start as far as my eating yesterday for this challenge as I overindulged and did not track my meal last night, but it was good. I expect a bump up tomorrow from the carbs (rice, garlic bread, alcohol, ice cream)
8/17 156.2 Yesterday another wth day, ate well all day until after dinner toast with butter, ice cream, basically a binge. Not really sure what is going on, but if I had to guess I would say...I am feeling bored and am seeking "variety" through eating, plus that "full" feeling when you eat a lot of carbs. As I was eating the ice cream it didn't even taste that good or satisfy, but I finished it anyway. I guess it's why I am here. It's hard sometimes to deal with the relationship with food. It's not like we can go cold turkey and stop eating. One day at a time.
8/18 155 Woke up with a migraine- movies last night, popcorn. Eating still not good. Dairy causing breakouts. Headaches. Body is telling me.
8/19 154.2 Stayed down most of yesterday recovering from the migraine, it's so strange how our bodies choose to let go of weight. I have had a "bad" week so far eating macros and over calories, yet I am now dropping. Just another lesson to trust the process and stay the course. I am not beating myself up for induging, because I am not on a diet. I am merely making smarter choices with occasional treats. My whole life I have done the yoyo, though this is the highest (171) I let myself go. Where I usually run into problems is not in losing the weight, that is the easy part. The hard part is when I am thin and I think I can just eat whatever I want. And there it comes back again. The only time I really maintained was when I was a runner, though I lacked tone. I have not gotten myself active again though it is necessary as part of the whole picture, but school starts next Tuesday so there will be no more excuses then!

8/17 — 138.8 — I was able to eat again yesterday, and actually ended up getting chipotle last night. I’ve been doiong so well eating at home and not out, so was bummed I gave into temptation. However, after after the night I had before I gave myself a pass. Back to being hydrated and I’m shocked the scale didn’t go up more than it did. Pretty happy overall. 😊
8/18 — 138.4 — I really tried to focus on drinking tons of water today. Stayed under my calories for the day, but generally had a lazy day at home. 🙃
8/19 — 138.8 — Kept my calories in my normal range yesterday, going out to lunch and to a concert today so will try my hardest to make good decisions while I’m out.. 😬 wish me luck, haha. 8/16 166.8 apparently my body likes this number lol. Ate 1200 calories last night ...right on the dot, never done that before. 80 min insanity and 2 liters of water. Overall a great day, no complaints. It has been two weeks since I last took my measurments so today I will have to do that
8/17 165.4 ate below my calorie goal but had a rest day with my exercise routine but did go on extra walks and did some HITT exercises for the first time. Drank 1 liter of water. Good day all in all.
8/18 164.8 my body is weird. I haven't seen a daily drop like this since my first round. Although I'm slightly skeptical because it happened so fast I'm still happy to see this number, even if it ends up being just for today. Ate under calories, exercised for an hour and drank 1 liter of water. I also took my measurment yesterday and in the past two weeks I lost an inch (everhwere). Not bad if I do say so myself. In-laws are coming for dinner tonight and although I will work hard to watch my portions, we will just have to see. *crosses fingers*
8/19-- 166.6. Last night I had a dinner party with the in laws at my place and although I stuck to my portions, ate tons of veggies and fruit for desert (plus exercised all morning before beginning the house cleaning and exercised after they had left) as the night wore on, the temptation of the food put out for the late night snacking took over. I ended up eating some cookies and after they had left potatoe pancakes (I blame my hubby for having the munchies) it's ok though. I am not as dissapoined as I thought I would be, probably because this wasn't necessarily a sabotage, just a moment of weakness and being up later than usual. I have no doubt it will come off in no time (hopefully faster then the other times I gained) 1 liter of water. Here is to a better day!!

@wellnfree Ahh, another seamstress! I made all of our daughters’ clothes except jeans when they were growing up including formals and wedding gowns. And I made my own also until I got so heavy that I didn’t like anything after it was finished and I tried it on. I’m hoping to get back in the dressmaker groove soon! For our great nephew’s wedding a few years ago, I got a lovely sweater and skirt at Ross or TJ Maxx. You will find something and don’t stress about the weight - that doesn’t help. Just sayin’4 -

8/16 - 182.6 - Fairly healthy day yesterday. Jonah requested burgers for supper so had cucumber slices and Pringles with it instead of fries.
8/17 - 182.4 - Good day again yesterday. Sure missing my walks because of the smoke in the air.
8/18 - 183.0 - well I wish we could just forget yesterday happened, but there is no honesty and accountability in that. I overate yesterday and made poor choices all day. I was tired from a sleepless night and craved so much junk. Even as I ordered both lunch and supper I was arguing with myself. Then I couldn’t force myself to exercise much even after paying to go swim. Oh well, today is a new day and I’m rested, lots to do today so that should help burn some off.
8/19 - 183.0 much better day yesterday, it will still be two or three days before I see the end of Friday’s debacle though.

8/16 165 no changes for the last 6 days, but I also had really good success my first couple of rounds so I'm staying positive :)
8/17 165 I am visiting my family this weekend, hopefully I won't gain. Will not be able to weigh in for the next 2 days.
8/18 Away, not able to weigh. Went over my calorie goal yesterday, I probably will today also. Cookout day, plan to have 1 burger and dessert. No sodas, unless diet.
8/19 Still not able to weigh. Yesterday did not go as planned. Had little over half my burger, 1 hotdog without the bun, and 3 desserts, along with a couple beverages late last night. Got sick from 2 drinks (sorry tmi). Not near enough water yesterday either. On a positive note, everyone was talking about how good I looked and now much weight I had lost . So that was nice that the results are starting to show to everyone else also.

@quiltingjaine, I hope you're feeling much less sore today. Add another to the seamstress list! I made all of my clothes, including winter coats, since I was 11 yo. My mother's dresses and suits, fathers and husbands casual clothes, both my sons clothes, halloween costumes for them and to sell, friends casual clothing, prom gowns, alterations, etc. I haven't used my sewing machine since the first Grand was born. That's 8 years! That's really remarkable, because I had never been without a sewing project since I started sewing.6

8/16--220.4. This is why I find weighing everyday very helpful. Looking back at my weight from last round I now know that water weight from my excessive carb snacking took 2 days to show up on the scale and 1 day to go away. Now for the next time this happens, because at some point it will happen again, I now know not to stress over the temporary water weight gain. Now tonight is dinner and a movie, so I know there will be a temporary gain, but to help reduce some of the water weight gain my game plan is to eat lighter before dinner, drink only water including during dinner, plan what I will eat for dinner ahead of time, and take the dog out for a walk when I get back from the movie (the air here is starting to clear up).
8/17--220.4 I am happy to say that other than taking 3 sips from my husband's drink at dinner, I did everything that I had planned to do. I didn't want to take the dog out for a walk after the movie, but then I knew that I had posted it here yesterday, so I went out for the walk and I am happy that I did. I call yesterday a NSV.
8/18--219.7 This morning I am going out to breakfast to one of my favorite breakfast places, but like my dinner and movie night 2 days ago, I have a plan. I am going to an early Kettlebell class before breakfast, I will go for a walk of at least 2 miles after breakfast, I will eat lighter for the rest of the day, and I will go for a walk and/or bike ride in the evening.
8/19--219.3 Yesterday, I did evertthing from my plan. I also finished organizing the entry way, even though it did take longer than I had hoped. Other than a bike ride this morning and a long walk later today, my plan is to relax for most of the day.

8/16 180.8 Close to a new decade! My workout buddy is back from her camping trip so the day has begun with a workout.
8/17 181.8 No idea why, did my work out, exceeded my step goal and was on target with calories. I am tired and grumpy today so will have to be on my guard re emotional eating.
8/18 180.4 I did eat a chocolate bar yesterday, but only one. I ate it slowly and enjoyed every bit and I stayed within my calories so yay me! In the past I ate chocolate bars the way other people smoked cigarettes, one before work, one at break, one before lunch, one or two after lunch etc etc, 7 or more in a day. So one and done is great.
8/19 181.8 mea culpa - did fine most of the day, but fell back into old habits in the evening mindessly grabbing a handful of this or that whenever the opportunity arose. Woke up with a cold this morning - so I am going to have a quiet day. Somehow knowing that there is a reason why I feel like carp makes it easier to stay on track.
