I just finally fit in a size 12 jeans for the first time in over 20 years!35

My first real NSV. Had to go to a funeral last week. I decided to wear a suit, usually I'm a Jean's tshirt polo kinda guy. Got suit few years ago and "the cleaners must have shrunk it" last time I wore it. Put it 9n and had one heck of a time keeping the pants up, waaaaay too loose!28

My comment was sort of tongue-in-cheek, but I eat butter and cheese, in any case. And I do have to buy some items that are in the interior of the store. Just gotta' exercise that self-control.

The place where I buy my black work trousers from had a big sale on so I decided to nab a bargain & buy the next size down in anticipation of them fitting at....some point?
First nsv is that I bought them safe in the knowledge they will actually fit in time. May not seem a big deal, but it's reinforcement that I still have self belief.
Second is that they are a UK size 10 & my very first pair from that shop was a UK size 20...prior to that I was a 22 & I couldn't buy them from this place as they wouldn't even go up over my thighs.
Third is that the 10s actually go all the way up & there's only about a half inch gap before I will be able to fasten them.
Shocked does not cover it! If I was to pinpoint a time prior to this that they would've *perhaps* fit, I'd have been around 10 years old.
So glad I bought them!35 -

Hahaha! I had the same experience. Wait till you feel those weird bumps on your chest....they're called ribs.
Oh yeah, those weird knobs no longer have a lot of padding, be very weary of any hard surface that is hip height!!!!!10 -
Just sat down and placed my phone on my lap and it vanished! Found it on the floor - tried again and the same thing happened again.
It was escaping through my new thigh gap! I suppose I must have had it a while but first time I’ve really noticed!23 -
Joined a beginner running group and actually showed up for the early a.m. workout. Ran a mile. Had no idea I could do that. Walked thevrest that’s ok for now.26

We have not done that for about 10 or 12 years - and at that time I felt self conscious because of my weight. I was worried that my hips and knees wouldn't cope but, although my ankles ached, and getting off was 'interesting' I was absolutely fine and I didn't feel sorry for the horse. What's more - it was too embarrassing being asked my weight before they chose my horse. This is a biggy for me - I rode all through my childhood up until my mid 30's. I owned my own horse and competed but as he aged, and I got fatter I stopped riding him. Sadly, he died about 12 years ago and apart from that one hack with my then young daughter I've not ridden since. So good to be back in a saddle.
I'm so glad you were able to enjoy something again that you so obviously loved in the past. And to be able to share it with your daughter makes it even better11 -
My mother said it looked like I have lost a lot of weight.25

I fell at home on August 1st and broke my ankle. First broken bone ever. Been missing being able to get out on the bike. Went to wellness center today and did some upper body strength training. Not long but I am counting it as a victory.
Counting down to September 14th to be able to retire the boot.
Also was able to stop at one cookie last night which is significant because sometimes one failure (wasn't hungry and didn't need it) leads to eating the whole bag.24 -
Managed to hold a plank for a slow count of 46 today, a new personal best. Granted, I've only recently started trying planks, but still...26

Went to buy shoes yesterday, apparently my feet have shrunk from UK 5 to 3.5.21

I lost enough weight in my arms to have sweater-paws again with my favorite sweaters. I love covering my hands because they get cold at work.22

I was able to go down one more notch in my belt! Boss even noticed that my clothes are getting baggier and said that I should probably invest in a new wardrobe. I don't necessarily want to do that right now because I am in between sizes, but it's nice that she noticed!21

Just got back from my 6 month post type 2 diabetes follow up visit:
14 Feb: A1C 7.3% Fasting BG 180
Today: 30-Aug-2018 8:41a *A1C In Office A1C 5.1
Fasting BG was 85 this AM before I went to the gym.
I've been keeping my numbers in the normal range for the past three months, well other than that one time at bandcamp....30 -
Was at the gym yesterday after work with my wife, when a personal trainer there told us that she had used us as good examples to a client of hers, highlighting our hard work and dedication over the past year. Made me feel good...35

This is a good but a bit annoying problem when you are between sizes and especially when between Womens/Misses department. I have been unable to find dresses for quite some time. anyone have suggestions.10 -
I bought a cute jacket on sale a few weeks ago. I knew it wouldn't fit round me but I thought it would look nice worn open with a T-shirt. Yesterday I zipped it all the way up. It's a girl's jacket. I'm the size of a 14 year old girl. I wasn't even that size when *I* was a 14 year old girl!25

Just noticed today that I now only have one chin!31

You could have your clothes taken in? Lots of cheap dressmakers/alteration services out there.5 -
Well, my scales are stubbornly refusing to budge, but my chair at work has gotten even more uncomfortable, so I guess something must be happening.21

My beautiful, fit, slender daughter passed on a coat to me because she bought a different style. It fit. May I tell you I teared up?37

I am spending a few days organizing my closet. I placed slacks in order of decreasing fit, knowing there are a number
I know will be too large in a month or two. The NSV is I have a calm certainty rather than a false bravado about this. During the process, I did make a pile of favorites to save that I labeled “fear”, then I narrowed those down to two and tucked them in a drawer. Looking forward to ditching them in a few months.15 -
I have to have fingerprints taken for a new job and they ask for height, weight, etc on the forms.
This is the first time I not only didn’t cringe at the thought of giving my weight, but was actually kinda proud. How freeing!32 -
I always focus so much on the weight on my arms - I carry a proportionally large amount of weight there, and was annoyed today that one dress was still tight in the sleeves. It made it a struggle to roll up my sleeves to give blood today. It made me feel like I wasn't making any progress.
Well, I had a happy wake-up call. The elastic belt I normally wear around my waist (one like this that clips in the middle) fell off when I leaned over because it was too loose.
I know the weight it my arms will come off eventually as I lose more, so it was nice to see that I was still making great progress.18 -
I have been reading this thread for months! Maybe even a year. It is so motivating. I feel personally invested in many of your journeys.
Today I have a real but small one. We have ton of family coming into town this weekend. I mean 45-50 people because my twins are being baptized. This is a really big deal in our church. We are feeding everyone and housing many and I am makeing a huge Dalek cake. So, stressful day ahead. I saw a bottle of Dr. Pepper on the counter and reeealy wanted to drink it. BUT, I filled up my water bottle instead and reminded my self that the water would help me more than the soda ever would. Victory!
Glad to join all of the wonderful people on this thread. I now want to start lifting, biking, SUP, and get some dragon pants. Thank you!
