At the risk of getting flamed (seems to happen a lot on MFP) I must disclose I am on day 10 of the 10 Day Green Smoothie Cleanse. 3 green smoothies (kale, spinach, mixed green + fruit, water, flax seed, blend..) a day plus fruit, veggies, almonds, and hard boiled eggs as snacks. While I did always drink 3 a day, generally I subbed with fruit or veggies that would have gone in the smoothie anyway. Slipped a couple of times (jalapeno Margarita, Irish Manhattan, and a few Bud lite) and I did have a couple of salads with clean protein late in the cleanse when I had business lunch/dinners. It looks like when all is said and done I'm down about 13 lbs in 10 days. And yes, I know some of that was "waste" or water, and I know that this kind of 1K calorie a day thing is totally unsustainable. My energy has not been the best and I am ready to kill for a steak. that said I feel better and it seems like a good jump-start to my fitness goals after two years of neglect. Will let you know what happens after I get back to a real, but reasonable diet.....

Whatever works for you. You seem realistic about it so do what's best for you. We are all different. What works for some don't work for others. I'm sure I'd be flamed if I posted how I lost my weight. But hey it worked, I kept it off. Ya I have fluctuated but that's cause I get lazy especially in the summer.

Also as long as you're not promoting unhealthy habits for others do as you wish and well done

Ran 6 miles, pushups, air squats, bicycle crunches, leg lifts then took the kids to menches and watched them eat ice cream with a thousand toppings...

Yay it's Friday...and still raining. Tired of the hour-long commute, so up at 4, played around on Internet, made doggie poop in yard instead of her walk, and got in by 6:30--which meant only a 24-minute drive. On the agenda is a 5k run after work, long Yoga class, and in bed early. Carpe diem.

I am looking for a few friends that are into weight lifting. I am not a serious weight lifter but I have been lifting weights for about a year now and I am still trying to figure out a program that works for me and I am struggling on my form. I know that I am probably just being hard on myself but I really want to learn the proper form for some of the big lifts. I have lost some weight and gained some muscle but it's a long process and I am looking for some like minded friends. :)

48 tomorrow...down just shy of 40# by being smarter basically about what I eat...not on a diet. Learning to put me first a little so I can be around to take care of my little’s who normally consume my time ❤️

Hey all!! Mid 30s (eek!!) mum of 4 here. Been on MFP on & off for years but due to having M.E. I now need to seriously look at my diet/lifestyle to help stay as healthy as I can.

Hi. This may be a bad time to introduce myself because I’m hungry! Anyway I’m 45 now and looking to fight an ever expanding waistline. Hopefully being here and using MFP will help. I’m struggling a bit now because I haven’t been seeing any results.

    Hi Frank,
Not seeing results is a real de-motivator for sure. That's when I rely on how my clothes are fitting. And trust that a breakthrough will happen soon. Make sure you're tracking everything you eat in MFP.

38f. Lost a Lot of weight a few years back and then put it (and 20 extra lbs) back on 2 yrs ago. Would like to start my 40’s healthier than I loved my 30’s.
  • 46 and back on MFP after a 5-year break and after gastric sleeve surgery. I am here to make sure I don't quit losing before I hit my 100-lb goal. Sitting at 47 lbs right now. Feel free to add me!

Happy steamy Friday. I guess fall forgot to get going

The husband did well in a court battle he was fighting so it's celebration time tonight. I've got a nice roast to make and some nice wine. I'm hoping though he wants to go out it might be too hot to cook!
