I was coming in to say the same. I have a diet Dr Pepper everyday, but my love for Coke Zero vanilla or diet cream soda never dies.3 -
I use to drink diet soda alllllllll the time (everyday) and I would lose weight just fine.
I stopped because I'm trying to save money right now and water and coffee is cheaper than soda.10 -

I tend to keep coke zero, diet dr pepper, and diet wild cherry pepsi on hand. I haven't tried the vanilla ones. Diet cream soda would be nice. Diet root beer with ice cream would be nice.5 -
I was brought up on diet soda lol. I’m trying to cut down, but if my choice is diet soda or something with calories, diet wins. 🙂2

I don't think the diet drinks hinder weight loss, if you're careful about what you eat, but, like regular sodas, most diet sodas are probably unhealthy for one reason or another. Due to the bad reports, my husband insists I stay away from Aspartame and Sucrose, so I use liquid Stevia to sweeten hot and iced tea. I buy Zevia sodas (sweetened with Stevia), but I sneak in an occasional Diet Dr. Pepper on rare occasions when I don't have iced tea with me. I'm leery of artificial sweeteners. I switched from Stevia packets to liquid Stevia, because the packets I used have extra ingredients which add 2g of carbs.19

I'll tell you what, the day my husband insists what I eat or don't eat, that'll be an interesting day for the ole marriage, a very interesting day indeed.38 -

Fortunately, my husband is a sweet, smart man who looks out for my best interests. I don't always agree with his opinions, but I respect him.13 -

My husband respects me and I respect him. That's why we don't attempt to dictate what the other can eat. It's cool because I never have to sneak a soda.24 -

He might be a little mislead on aspartame though. It’s not really as scary as some believe. Do check out the link I tagged you in above. It’s a great read.11 -
I have one a day mon - fri with my lunch. Down nearly 2.5 kg now. I can't remember the last time I had a full sugar coke.5

I stay away from anything with aspartame in it. After doing research, I found enough to know that even though it is 0 calories, I wouldn't be putting it into my body. Its a personal choice and I know not everyone agrees, but I stay far away from it.

That site though.
I didn't know so much quackery could fit on one page.28 -

"If you see someone with a diet drink, ask if they have had any of the typical aspartame side effects."

That's an... interesting website to use as proof of anything.

Does not make me crave sweets, and keeps me well hydrated.3

I'd be more concerned about the hydrogen hydroxide in diet sodas. It's a powerful solvent that is used in manufacturing to cut metals, and is found as a component of rocket exhaust. Doesn't sound like something you want to be drinking!22
