Round 54 (My 8th Round)
9/25 156 I did great on all my macros until the late night craving hit me. I was a couple hundred calories under after dinner so it just ended up balancing out after I ate what I was craving. Just wish it didn't hit me so late. On a brighter note, loved the fall like weather yesterday morning! It was beautiful out. Can't wait until it stays like that for a while, and the trees start turning. The park I go to to walk is so beautiful, especially when the leaves start turning 😊.
9/26 155 yayy I am so excited. 10 pounds away from a normal BMI. I am beyond proud of myself. Yesterday was also a light day so I know that's contributed to part of this loss but I'm still taking credit for all the hard work.
9/27 155 soo happy that the scales were correct yesterday. I was speaking to someone yesterday who was complimenting me and asking how much weight I had lost, and my Husband overheard me tell them I still wanted to lose more. He doesn't want me to lose any more lol but I told him that I loved him, but I am doing this for me and I want to be happy with my body, and healthy.
That is really what matters in this whole thing, do this for "you". Being an inspiration to my family is a plus also, because I want them healthy as well.
9/28 155 Ate junk half the day yesterday so my macros were high. Stayed under my goal but I did use some exercise calories. I decided I'm going to walk at least 2 miles/day a few times a week, on top of my daily exercises. Would like to work my way up to jogging/running but it's hard to do right now because I always have my 5 month old with me. Maybe Santa will bring me an Elliptical for Christmas this year 😊.
9/29 155 was well under my calorie goal yesterday but I feel like my body has been retaining water. I have been drinking lots of water, at least trying to. Higher on the sodium end though the past 2 days, and I've had hot sauce the past 2 days at dinner. I sure hope I don't have to give up my love for hot sauce . Will be drinking cucumber water today, hopefully that'll help.
9/30 154 Excellent way to end September, with another pound lost 😊 and my round goal met. Great day yesterday. Had around a gallon of water, most of it being cucumber water. I could tell it really made a difference as I was relieving water all day yesterday. I made a fresh pineapple strawberry smoothie for dinner. I need to do that more often, I think light dinners really help. It's also easier to do when Hubby isn't around, he has been in graveyard shift all weekend.
10/1 154 I'll be content if I stay here this round . I am thanking God every day for allowing me to get my health in control, even though I am still a working progress. Yesterday I went over on my total fat, like a good bit over. Not too worried about it though because I didn't eat bad, I added almonds into my diet and I had peanut butter in my oatmeal as well.
10/2 154 Didn't eat the greatest yesterday, my husband brought me home a chicken biscuit. Had cubed steak and gravy for dinner and also had 2 mini cupcakes for dessert. BUT on a positive note, I walked 2 miles yesterday morning, did zumba in the evening and I added a new 5 minute squat routine . Going to make better food choices today. Still humble .
10/3 153.5 sooo happy! 😊 I think adding in 2 miles of walking a few times a week, along with my daily exercises is really paying off.
10/4 153.5 ready to see what the next round brings!7 -

9/25 177.6 I'm going to the dentist today. 😬 I'm hoping to still get 10,000 steps today!
9/26 176.4 My trip to the dentist was a little easier than I expected! And not only did I get 10,000 steps yesterday but I surpassed it! I ended the day at 11,289 which is great for a day off. I have to be really intentional about it on days off. I'm happy with it.
9/27 177.2 Water weight? I was under on calories yesterday.
9/28 177.6 Alright now...😒 I can tell that TOM is coming because I'm craving chocolate and sweets like crazy! I was able to have some chocolate yesterday and still be under calories. My son joined me in my evening walk last night which was nice!
9/29 177.6 I’m slightly annoyed by this number but I’m trying not to be. I know that I’m about to start TOM. It’s just frustrating when you’re consistently under calories and exercising. Hopefully in another couple of days it’ll start going back down again.
9/30 176.8 Well that surprised me a little! I went to a wedding after work last night and I guesstimated on calories of the food that I ate. I even had a cupcake! Being gluten intolerant, I mostly assume that there’s not going to be anything gluten free at events. But these guys had a gluten free table set up, and even had some gluten free vegan cupcakes! It’s not often I get to have something like that, so I went for it and had one!
I did not like my reaction to yesterday’s weigh in. You see, I’m not used to daily weigh ins, this is my first time doing this challenge. I had to take a step back and remind myself to look at the big picture and to not get upset over just a few days. This is a life long journey! Keep up the work and change will happen!
10/1 175.8 Another surprise but I'll happily take it! I was so stressed and tired after work yesterday that all I wanted to do was rest. So I did.
I'm excited for this new month and I'm excited to keep the progress going! Let's finish this year strong!
10/2 175.8 I stayed the same and I'm ok with it. I'm going to stay on track today even if we are going out for dinner tonight! I've taken a couple of rest days, so I'm feeling ready to get a workout in today!
10/3 175.6 I went out to dinner last night and I even had pumpkin cider! And I managed to stay within calories!
Today has been somewhat stressful. I started the day with a low tire light on my car but hubby thought it should be ok to get to and from work. So I was nervous all day at work hoping I wasn’t going to be stuck there. Everything was fine until after work when I pulled into a gas station to get air for my tires, and clearly didn’t know what I was doing and made it worse lol! Luckily they didn’t go totally flat. Hubby met up with me and picked up our boy from school. Then I went to Firestone. They real quick put air in my tires and so far so good! Will keep an eye on it over the next couple of days. My previous car I’d had for nearly 15 years. My current car has some features that are new to me. Like I can see the tire pressure in the dash.
Other than that, one more day to this challenge! This is my first time doing this challenge and I’m glad I gave it a try! So much support and accountability!
10/4 176.6 I'm down 1 pound from the start of this challenge, which is great! It's interesting seeing the fluctuations and maybe learning what causes them. I did have a stressful day yesterday and I'm thinking TOM is coming. I had thought that a few days back, so maybe I am. Have a great day and see you in the next round!8 -

9/25 155.6 well well well, look who decided to show lol. So apparently my mind can't adjust fast enough to my new weight (especially because I thinks it's the fastest I have ever lost) so being apart of a few groups I accidently weighed in last weekend at 166.6 instead of 156.6 😣😣 oops. Well you are all witnesses to the proof I have of my actual weight lol. But even still, every morning I still have to check 3 or 4 times because I can't believe it. Hopefully the next 10 pounds won't be as unbelievable.
9/26 154.4 whoooooooooosh!! Why, no clue. I did work out hard yesterday but still... wow. Today I have been having some anxiety. I have worked out hard and have been eating normally. I don't starve and I don't deny myself (unless it's super junk food, then that's all will power) I know mentally I have been doing everything right and my quick weight loss is all activity and portion control....but I'm starting to feel scared. I'm scared that it will be so easy to gain it all back if I jump the wagon again..I'm scared of having to do this again for 10000 time if i slack. I am looking forward to improve and not be re set into my old ways but who knows what the future holds. The only reassurance I have is not all my rounds have been perfect and weeks like last week have happened ( I was so hungry all week and pretty much had the worst eating week since I have started) but my gains haven't been too large and I still end it with losses. I am assuming as long as I never binge again I will be fine...but I don't know.
9/27 154.4 holding steady. I had munchies last night but settled for 2 pieces of dark chocolate. Worked out well but didn't do as much as I wanted. Drank 1.2 liters of water. I am feeling bloated though, 2 days away from TOM. Today I went to the hospital with my aunt, she has some inflammation in her leg and we just wanted to check it out, just in case (she is a cancer survivor so anything becomes worrisome) and to thank me for coming out she took me to a pub where we ordered chicken schnitzel and frites..it was delicious but I know it will negatively reflect on my weight tomorrow morning. Oops😞😞
9/28 154 wow. Didn't expect this. I guess I didn't do as much damage as I thought. TOM is due tomorrow and I usually expect a gain but this time hasn't seemed too bad which is kind of weird. Well see what happens tomorrow
9/29 155.8 and whoooosh back up again 😥😥😫😥 that's ok, I expected this given my TOM arrived and I am feeling crazy bloated. Yesterday I had a high sodium day as well so that definitley has something to do with it. Past couple of days haven't been great in the eating department but I am done all my responsibilities that have been derailing me so back at it today and back to regular schedule. I feel like the past two weeks have been weird so I am changing it from here on out to get back in control and stop laxing...and now that my TOM has arrived I have no excuse. Honestly I don't even care about my weight...at all I just don't want to feel bloated and puggy anymore lol... ackkkk what a day. I also am going to have to work on my mentality. I am not being negative but I am starting to feel more obsessed when I need to exchange that for greatfulness.
For example if I get in an hour and a half of cardio and no strength for the day, I need to stop giving myself a hard time because I don't think it's enough. I have to accept there aren't enough hours in the day. I have been finding that if I don't work out for 3+ hours I give myself issues...but after doing the math it just isn't possible without sacrificing eating or sleeping...so that needs to stop.
9/30 no scale. Had to get up and go grocery shopping with my mom and wasn't able to weigh in. I originally wanted to, to keep myself accountable because I had a big binge day yesterday 😣😣 wasn't good at all and got very little exercise in. So far today I have been good (probably because I am still full from yesterday's binge) but we will have to see how it reflects on my weight for tomorrow. Hope everyone is having a great weekend though 😄
10/1 156.8 yikes. This weekend's binge was awful. I was good yesterday but Saturday I definitley over did it... a lot. I couldn't stop eating. I did work out yesterday a bit, was walking a good portion of the day and drank 1 liter of water. Once again back at it again. No more sabotage. It's a new month and the start of a new week ☺ In the past this would have crippled my mood, even if I known it is completely my fault but this time I am looking ahead. It's over and done with...onwards and downwards lol
10/2 156.6 ate good yesterday and had 1 liter of water. Exercised good but I am still waiting for this weight to drop again. I am hoping for a big whoosh the next couple of days so hopefully I can at least end on a loss if not my goal..but who knows. Weight is always a tricky thing to predict. I am still trying to keep my head up though. I'm still learning.
10/3 156.2 sllooowwly going down. One day of cheating ends in working four days to take it off...pfft. I exercised good yesterday, drank 1 liter and ate well. I'm greatful I am feeling patient with myself ...if it had been last week I don't think I would have been as patient. One more day and I will fight for it
10/4 155.8 still going down but the frustration is starting to set in. It was one day for crying out loud..four days of eating right and exercising and I still can't manage to take it all off. 😥😥😥 I guess the positive is I still managed to loose from the last 10 days, even if it is the lowest I have ever pulled. I am just tired of this super slow trend. And although I want to be optimistic about the next 10 days, this Sunday is thanksgiving which is giving me major regret for binging last saturday when I could have looked forward and pushed through the day trying to make it to this weekend. I am just aggravated because I know the next 10 days will be equally as hard to see a loss. I know it's a ridiculious goal but if I made it to 148 by October 9th I would have accomplished 30 pounds in the three months and I think I'm slightly dissapoined because I have been working really hard to get there. Ok enough whining. Here is to another day and to another 10 days.
See you all in round 554 -
Female, 46yo, 5’4” I am an advanced age mother to 2 little boys (4yo & 17mo). I want to lose weight so I have less pain and can do more with my kids.
This is my 1st 10 day challenge. We are having a weight-loss competition at work (% body weight lost) and this is my motivation to get back on track. It started 8/1 and ends 10/31. I’m not typically a competitive person but I’m setting out to win this competition and if I lose 30+ lbs and don’t win, I’ll still be a winner in my own mind!

9/25: 271.4 logged all food, went to the gym and worked back & biceps + bike, 125g protein
9/26: 270.4 logged all food, went to the gym and worked chest & triceps + bike, 115g protein
9/27:DNW logged all food, 121g protein
9/28 272.2 logged all food, 104g protein, was supposed to go to the gym but ended up working late and needed to get home to my kiddos & hubby
9/29 273.6 WHAT is going on here?? I've been under my calorie goal every day since Sunday and then I was only over by 20 calories. This is so frustrating! 89g protein
9/30 DNW logged all food, went to the gym and worked legs + bike, 96g protein
10/1: 272.2 at least going back in the right direction but still up. Today is inventory day at work w/ tons of donuts all day and they are supplying pizza for lunch. I don't get it, they sponsor this weight loss challenge then they don't offer any healthy options. This will be a challenging day. I want to lose weight more than I want donuts & pizza! I did it!!! I resisted all those donuts & pizza! I ended up going for a 20 min walk w/ hubby & the kids in the evening which isn't huge, but it's still way better than my norm. Ate all those calories and a few more - ended up at 1585 calories for the day, 124g protein.
10/2 272.4 feeling really discouraged, it's looking like my goal for this round and my end of month goal may not be reachable, 102g protein
10/3 270.6 Wednesdays are my "official" weigh in day so I've actually gained 0.2 lb since last weeks "official" weigh in Didn't make it to the gym last night because I had the baby while hubby took the 4 year old to swim lessons. Have to make it to the gym tonight!
10/4 270.4 Didn't make it to the gym last night. I forgot my shoes and had to go home and that's where my motivation ended. I did log all food and stayed under calories but only 78g protein. I have my shoes & clothes today and I've arranged for the baby while daddy & big brother go to swimming lessons so I shouldn't have any excuses for not going tonight.7 -

9/26/ 220 / Life is crazy. Dealing with fallout from husband's cancer diagnosis (latest word that it may be benign! Fingers crossed!) and the resulting crazy uncertainty.
9/27 / 219.6 / So tired.
9/28 / 218.8 / I exercised a TON yesterday, though I'll admit that it was partially so I could have some cake. Sometimes, I just want some cake. I did a workout at a higher level than ever before (3 sets instead of 5) and feel a bit smug at my progress. I'm still tired today, and I don't have more news, but I don't feel quite so sick tired as I did yesterday. Progress!
9/29 / 219
9/30 / 218.8 / Exercised a lot of minutes again yesterday while watching stressful baseball games.
10/1 / 218.6 / BENIGN! There is still an outstanding pathology report, but the doctors say that's just a formality, generally. So my husband does not have a form of rare cancer, he has an even rarer form of benign tumor. I keep going from elated to bawling!
10/2 / 218.8
10/3 / 219.6 / Had a salty day yesterday, so this is an expected bump!
10/4 221.4 / I think this is just more of the result of Tuesday's salt fandango. Maybe some retaining water from some intense shoulder exercises.

9/25 DNW Holy Moley, I had to leave super early for a work issue and didn't weigh, definitely subconsciously skipped the weigh in on purpose since I ate over 2000 calories yesterday, full disclosure. We will see what tomorrow looks like!
9/26 150.8 Second day of eating whatever, it was my daughter's birthday and I made quite the spread. Broke my no second's rule, indulged in warm fresh birthday donuts for dessert...plan for today through end of round is low carb. We are celebrating again on Friday with 40+ people and she requested a Southern menu, any recipes out there for brisket? I have never made it.
9/27 150.2 Good day eating, low carb higher protein, walked the hill, same plan for today. Thank you everyone for the support, and welcome to all the new people! It's a great, supportive group!
9/28 149.4 Still feeling the bloat and general discomfort of the 2 days of eating without tracking, but yesterday was good. Tonight 40+ people at my house for my daughter's birthday, Brisket, Ribs, Mac and Cheese, Green Beans, Cornbread, Salad, and her favorite Napoleon for dessert on the menu per her request. Not my normal cooking style, but it's looking tasty. Salad for me, I plan on front loading my lean protein before the function so I can just cook/mingle/hold babies and not eat! Countdown 1 week to Maui!
9/29 DNW and did not track :-(
9/30 151 Going backwards this round, I have lost focus. NSV's though I have been walking our hill 7 days a week (this is a 3 mile loop, about 40 stories according to my fitbit) It is easy for me now 2 months in, and finally getting easier for my hunny who started a month ago. Hoping to add a second loop when we get back from Maui. Back on track today (Sunday), putting the past behind me and moving forward. Too many goodies in the house and I did not resist. I threw it all away and the house is safe again. Whew.
10/1 WEIGH IN DAY 149.2 At least I am back below 150, but I still have some work to do. I started logging my food on Fitbit instead of MFP and am going to use the fitbit calorie goals instead for the rest of this round, they adjust according to my activity. Same end result I am seeking but new method, trying to keep focus. Maui in 4 days! Can't wait to eat fish!!
10/2 149.8 Looks like a maintenance round, focused on dropping to at least 149 again by end of round. Maui in 3 days- stay away from carbs til Friday!! Plan while I'm there is to fully enjoy it but that does not mean eating crazy. Plus is we have a condo, and will stop at Safeway for some stuff. Plan on fully taking advantage of the fresh fish for every dinner!
10/3 149.6 Focusing on hydration today as I feel a slight headache coming, my skin looks dry, and I was thirsty overnight. Ate well yesterday, but have been eating protein bars again (>_<) These are definitely a weird trigger food for me. I MUST STOP BUYING THEM. NSV My honey walked the hill without stopping! He usually redlines a couple of times and has to stop, but a month in and he did it straight! So happy to be on the same page with him. 2 more days until Maui!! We so need this, we have a 16yo homeschooled son and a 23yo special needs son, as well as a business that takes a lot of energy. My DH and I spend a lot of time together, but it's just regular time, if that makes sense. Not one-on-one couple time, so we are super excited to be able to be "honeymooners"!!!
10/4 149.6 Well, looks like last 2 rounds have been a wash. Not going to stress about it, just enjoy my vacation and buckle down to lose these last 10 or so when I return. I will see you all in a week!

T- 1 149 Eliminating sugar/processed foods from my diet. Taking time for myself to move my body. And setting myself up for success at home and at work.
Good day. Walked a lot. Ate well. Stayed away from sugar. Set up house routines.
1 145 Goal for the day: Weight training.
Another good day! Lifted and then played hoops with the boy. > 10k steps. Food was spot on. House is looking good. Need to get the phone out of the bedroom….
2 145 Goal for the day: Exercise of some sort. Slept in this morning instead of exercising.
Walked for exercise. Walked at my desk; at lunch; and in the plant. Steps ~14k. Good night of food.
3 147 Ate some peanuts last night before bed. Scaled showed it this morning. Not worrying about it. Did something to my shoulder on Tuesday. Slept like crap last night.
Goal for today: Be gentle with myself.
4-6 IDK Good weekend, I suppose. Not going to try and rehash it. Stayed away from the wine. And didn’t get into too much chocolate. Exercised on Saturday despite my shoulder. Ready to refocus.
7 147 Exercised this morning with my buddy.
My goal today: 10K steps. Accurate food journaling. Meditation.
Meditation at lunch. Didn’t quite get to 10k. Kids needed mom with homework and reading. Food was logged, it was whole, but I could have cut down on the portions. It was a good day.
8 147 Morning exercise in the kitchen. Followed by Miracle morning.
Goal today: 10k steps. Meditation. Food journaling. Vision Board.
Results: Hit the steps! Got the board done! Journaled my food (there were a few bites of shake I didn’t capture). Meditation during Vision Board planning.
What didn’t quite go as well- Food was plentiful and exceeded my calorie goal. Except for a few cookies, it was on plan.
9 146.5 Morning Exercise- Yoga. Proceeded by Miracle morning.
Goal today: 10k steps. And keeping at calorie goal. A stress free night with the kids. (Got to figure out how that is going to happen…)
Results: Good day. Not great. But definitely good. Calories are still higher than I'd like them.
10 145.5 Morning Exercise- Leslie Strength and Walking. Not quite 30 minutes. Spent too much time with Miracle morning
Goal Today- 10k steps. Getting in 30 more minutes of exercise. And keeping within calorie goal.

This round is week 2 of my dietitian-designed 6-8 week anti-inflammation elimination diet. Sticking to it and feeling much better already!
Goals:
Food ~~ Follow anti-inflammation elimination diet - learn new food tricks!
Exercise ~~ rebuild to 60-90 minutes/day of walking/swimming; restart weight training & yoga when joint pain subsides.
Weight ~~ no goal - happy anywhere between 130-140 for now, but continuing to lose to 130 would be great.

Day/Weight/Calories Day Before/Comment
9/25 - 136.8 - 1186
Rainy day today, but I'm feeling enough better (no more joint pain!) to restart weight training, so off to the gym. The clothing purge continues as I break out the fall and winter clothes. I just sadly realized that my raincoat, which I love, is way too big. So sad -- NOT! Happy day, all!
9/26 - 135.2 - 1309
Blow me over with a feather! I weighed myself 4 times with a scale reset to be sure this was right. Came out the same every time! I am trying to add some calories, but I'm also back to walking more. Anyway, I'm thinking my dream goal of 130 isn't impossible after all. I wish I knew which food I've eliminated has helped revive my downward trajectory. It can't all be water (although I feel much less puffy and didn't even know I was puffy). Keep at it, all - absolutely worth the effort!
9/27 - 135.6 - 1305
Okay, 35+ wasn't a fluke. I had more sodium than usual yesterday, so all good.
9/28 - 135.2 - 1111
Third time's a charm, so I guess it's real. I've finished the prednisone and feel great. I'm hoping to do some gardening this afternoon - I have a rose I want to move. Gorgeous morning! Have a lovely weekend, all!
9/29 - 135.6 - 1221
Beautiful autumn day here - going for a long walk! Enjoy, all!
9/30 - 135.4 - 1042
Rainy morning, but hopefully a nice afternoon. Lower-than-ideal calories yesterday, but I'm averaging around 1210, so it's ok. We had baked cod for dinner, which means low cals but stuffed. I hope you all have a lovely, healthful Sunday!
10/1 - 137.2 (rolling ave 135.8) - 1376 (10-day ave 1225)
Well, this bump is another little mystery of weight loss/maintenance. My calories were a little higher, but well within my TDEE (maintenance) estimates by MFP and SailRabbit. Water no doubt, but weird. I'll be interested to see what it does tomorrow.
10/2 - 137.6 (rolling ave 136) - 1662 (10-day ave 1273)
And this bump is not exactly a mystery. I had the major munchies last night for no good reason, since I had a good dinner. I did stick to my elimination diet, though - munched on fruit and nuts. It's okay - back on track today!
10/3 - 136.6 - 990 (10-day ave 1252)
I didn't feel hungry most of yesterday - must have been Monday's pig out. Today I'm aiming for normal calories and a nice walk + weight training. Mostly I do not feel deprived on this elimination diet -- there's plenty I can eat! - but the past two days I've lusted after a few of the things I can't have -- peppers, tomatoes, eggs, hard cheese.... I just keep reminding myself that once I start reintroducing foods, we may find something(s) that's contributing to the inflammation, and that will be worth it. And if it isn't food related, all the better! So I'm stickin' to it. Bilinski organic chicken sausages are my go to for savory satisfaction!
10/4 - 136.6 - 1172 - 10-day ave 1238
This was a good round, and although I'm up ~1 pound from my lowest, I'm down a little overall, so all good. I keep reminding myself that I'm below my very recent goal of 140 and still losing, so it's a win. On to R55. See you there!

Day/Weight/Comment
9/25--217.1 I First time in over a week I've gotten back to my normal water drinking levels.
9/26--216.4 Back to my pre-trip weight and trend weight. Tonight is yoga, I haven't gone in 2 weeks, I so need it. I've been thinking about getting back into weightlifting, since I have stopped going to my kettlebell club. I recently moved and the club changed it's class schedule, so it's just not convenient anymore. I'm going to get a 3 day pass from a nearby gym and try it out and see if I like it, if not there are a couple of other gyms that I can try out. I'm not a big gym person, but I do want to lift weights again and this gym also has an indoor pool which is nice too.
9/27--216.0 Did some snacking last night even though I wasn't hungry. It was definitely stress related. I knew what I was doing while I was snacking, but it was almost as if I couldn't stop myself. It was weird...almost like an out of body experience. Luckily I had eaten pretty well during the day such that the extra snacking only put me over my daily calories by less than 500. Positives for yesterday was that at least I recognized what I was doing and I curtailed the amount of damage done. Today is a new day.
9/28--216.2 Still with a downward trend. Going to try out the gym today with the free pass.
9/29--216.0 Didn't go to the gym yesterday. When I got home from work I found the pallet containing my bathroom tiles delivered near my condo door. My husband hadn't come home from work yet so I spent about 30-45 mins moving the heavy tiles into the condo. I lost any small motivation I had at the time to go to the gym. Today I am taking my dog on a hike with my hiking group and then we are going out to lunch...you have to take advantage of any nice days you can get at this time of the year. I may be running around and doing some errands later depending on how I feel after the hike.
9/30--216.4 Lunch yesterday and I drank very little water on yesterday's hike. When I hike I forget to drink water, I'm so focussed on the hike I find that unless it's really hot out I don't drink as much water when I hike. Going out today to look for some paint for the bathroom and then doing some chores around the house, it's supposed to be rainy today. Trending weight is still going downward!
10/1--216.9 Did not drink a lot of water yesterday. Still working on getting my fiber levels up. Zumba tonight.
10/2--216.0 Up and down. Last night I realized that I was losing some focus this round. Didn't record my food for 2 days and I haven't been as active this round and it is showing up on the scale as these constant fluctuations this round. This morning I told myself it's only two more days for this round and just focus on my eating and water. Going on vacation in 2 days and the diet break will definitely be helpful.
10/3--215.8 Yoga tonight.
10/4--215.6. Early weigh in. Going on vacation. Will miss the next round. See you in round 56.8 -

9/25 - Tuesday - 183.8 - Back at it after taking last round off. Was feeling down about a few days of increased scale numbers due to "taking a weekend off" and TOM. Took a few days to remind myself that the scale is just data, not judgement. It was a bit of struggle to eat well during this time - the comfort food cravings have been strong. But last nights NSV came when I revamped my grocery list to be a little more veggie centric. Got my low carb wraps for lunch again rather than sub rolls - chicken and ground turkey instead of red meat and more red meat, and avoided most of the desserts. I'm being more mindful of overeating - I didnt need the last piece of pizza I ate last night, but I had logged it so I felt justified - today I'm acknowledging that I overate beyond my feeling of fullness. This round I really just want to revamp habits that have been working for me and start trusting the process again - Wake up early, drink shake, take fish oil, lots of water at work, AM meds, eat packed lunch, have a 3pm snack, pm meds, cook dinner at home, take fish oil, walk dog, get a good nights sleep.
9/26 - Wednesday - 183.8 - A good day yesterday! Listened to my hunger cues - lunch was not appealing - ate most of my calories later on in the day but did not overeat! Gave last 1/4 of my burger to DH! Forgot fish oil but the habit is improving. Lots of water, need to get on that today! Dinner at parents house tonight - mom is a healthy cook so just need to reign in my portions and log the best I can. Visualizing 182 sticking around this round!
9/27 - Thursday - 181.0 - Had some tummy troubles over night so not exactly sure this number will stick around. But I ate smart yesterday - enjoyed a little of everything at my moms. Had to stay up late due to flood warnings and slept terrible. So morning habits went out the window, no breakfast, no lunch packed. But I did get up nice and early despite my exhaustion - it will definitely be a bed early kind of night!
9/28 - Friday - 180.0 - Migraine yesterday from 10a-2p made me skip lunch entirely. Had to lay down for 20 minutes because it was so bad I thought I was going to yak. Yikes. All from not having coffee first thing?! Taco bell breakfast yesterday and again this morning - coming into work earlier means being hungry more, so need to get back to protein shake for breakfast. Struggling to take fish oil - just not making it a priority and I need to. Also need lots of water today or I'll be sorry. I can feel the migraine lingering waiting to pounce the second Im dehydrated. Today by BMI standards I am overweight not obese! Adding in another short term goal for 170.0 by 2019!
9/29 - Saturday - 181.4 - Raviolis for dinner last night. Slow morning - did a few chores and had a big brunch. Headed out for a hike mid afternoon. About 4 miles total, 1.5hrs of climbing. Rented two movies and got an early dinner at Papa ginos - it mostly fit my calories for the day with all the activity!
9/30 - Sunday - 183.6 - Sodium and sore muscles! Lingering sinus headache but managing it well. Out for a mystery drive today - started with a cliff bar. Went to the dog park and then ended up at a country store for a late lunch, split a turkey sandwich with DH and couldnt resist splitting a cookie either. Took the most glorious afternoon cat nap in the sun and felt an overwhelming sense of peace, calm and gratitude for life. Parents invited us out for impromtu sushi date - we shared a boat, which was awesome because more sashimi, less maki meant for better macros. I wanted ice cream on the way home but DH said we should pass since we already had a cookie today, looks like the healthy habits are rubbing off on him too!
10/1 - Monday - 183.6 - No gain from yesterday so I'm cool with that! Lots of water today and I'm hoping to flush out the rest of the sodium. Lingering sinus headache still - golden rod is killing me. BUSY month coming up! My last first 29th birthday! Two sets of visitors staying with us. A big Halloween party with the best pot luck food ever. Soooo I'll definitely have to do some planning and be mindful this month while still enjoying life. (Sunday tech troubles - The app logged me out and now I cant log back in on mobile grrr)
10/2 - Tuesday - 183.0 - Grocery shopped yesterday after work. Late late dinner at almost 9 and then two pieces of blueberry pie after that...calories for the day were still good somehow. My dad is coming to stay with us for a few days - so I planned for a few simple meals which means higher sodium with convenience foods like instant potatoes and deli meat - but I'm striving for balance between healthy eating and my sanity! We might end up eating out one night. But I'm visualizing my goal of 182 on Thursday and I'll make smart choices til I get there!
10/3 - Wednesday - 181.4 - Feel good about yesterday - followed thru on most habits, cooked dinner at home, and remained mostly stress free! Calories were on the low side for the day but I listened to my hunger cues and definitely didn't starve myself. Dad arrived and joined us for dinner at home last night. He wants to take us out tonight - but weigh in tomorrow had me wishing we could do it tomorrow instead. But even if I don't weight in "at goal" tomorrow I will keep doing what I'm doing because I know regardless of what the scale says tomorrow I am moving in the right direction! Might think about removing the "goal weight" for each round and just focus on the bigger picture. We will see - visualizing 181 for tomorrow!
10/4 - Thursday - 180.4 - Awesome! Dinner out was a huge NSV - I made smart choices. It helped that the place we went has a menu that made that easy. Shared a shrimp appetizer. Entree was chicken parm but it came with a balsamic side salad instead of pasta! Brilliant! We all shared a dessert but still left half. I had a water with dinner instead of cranberry juice and seltzer that I usually get. Had a really nice time - got a more candid version of my dad than I've seen in a long time. He's on a journey to better health too and looked great! Most of all, the greatest success of this round has been that I really really like the person I'm becoming and I'm loving this journey again! I love me just as I am too - but this time of year is a time of great introspection for me as my birthday approaches. 28 was one of the best years of my life! I'm really excited for the future while being ever present in the now!8 -

9/28 - 181 Not enough water and no exercise.
9/29 - 179 Finally. Plenty of water, sensible eating and exercise helped. I have a tailgate party to go to today......yikes!
9/30 - 180- weighed when I got home last night and was at 179, then I had 3 cups of tea and nothing else. I ate carefully and we walked instead of Ubering, but the food must have been salty. Tomorrow will look better on the scale.🤷♀️
10/1 - 180 Lunch at church was heavy, and I didn’t get much exercise.
10/2 - 179 went to watch football at my dads and brought healthy dinner.

Day/Weight/Comment
9/25 134lbs—here we go!
9/26 132lbs—20K+ steps yesterday and under my calories
9/27 133.4--lots of salt today, not enough water and not as many calories burned
9/28 132.4—pretty clean eating yesterday, 30 min stair session and light weight work at home.
9/29 132.8—social evening, beverages and food I don’t usually eat. Did swim laps for 45 mins and a 2.5 mile leisurely bike ride
9/30 132—
10/1
10/2 133.2–wine, too many sweets-disappointed in myself.
10/3 132.8-pretty good day yesterday. Did the stairs (1000+ steps) and a mile walk with Brewster. The Fitbit walking challenge is definitely inspiring me to keep moving! Drank 64+ oz of water. Pre-logged meals, weighed and measured food—hopefully this will keep me at my calories. Goal is to not eat all of the calories I burn with workouts today (1 hr cardio/weights, walk with Brewster and Pilates class).
10/4 132.2-this 10 day effort was great! I liked knowing I would have to post and track. Pre-logging my meals and mixing up my workouts seems to work for me, so I'll keep this up as we head into another 10 day challenge!9 -
I am a 50 year old 5'4" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after. On the other hand when I look at the big picture and the averages it has been a consistent loss except for two rounds. Round 53 was my 50 birthday celebrations that upped my weight for a few days.
I need to step up my game if I want to meet any of my goals.

10/2 - 180.2
10/3 - 180.2 - I think I may have broken my toe. It's hurting really bad, but I don't remember hitting it at all. Still managed to walk 5 miles yesterday though!

9/27 - 180 again..I need to get serious.
10/3 - 179 I’m surprised after dealing with a rattlesnake which resulted in drinks last night.

Glad you are all in this with me, or I would give up.

Starting weight on Monday (9/24) 177LBS
9/25- 175.4 Hit the gym and lifted weights, kept cals. in check for the day, feeling good!
9/26 -174.6 Hit the gym again for cardio trying to make it a habit so I went Mon, Tues and Wed so far this week. Will be going tomorrow as well for weight training.
9/27- 174.2 Hit the gym again this morning (4am), weight training and intervals on the treadmill. Eating went well again yesterday stayed the course. I need some rest, so no gym tomorrow morning. I will make an effort to get up and move while at work though.
9/28- 173.2 No gym truly needed the rest after 4 consecutive days, will walk for 30mins at lunch today. Also, will be back at the gym tomorrow for weight training/cardio. Feeling pretty good, but the weekend scares me as that's where I usually fall off. My goal for this weekend is to at least maintain this current weight till Monday.
9/29- 173.2 Made it to the gym for weight training and cardio first thing this morning, unfortunately I don't have a plan for eating but I may do grocery shopping today for some healthy options. My goal is to at least maintain 173.2lb until Monday
9/30- 173.2 Not sure how I managed to be 173.2 again especially considering I haven't made the best food choices this weekend, but I'll take it. No gym or treadmill today, to much to do, but I will be at it in the morning. Really hoping I have maintained at least 173.2 on Monday morning weigh-in.
10/1- 173.2 I made it 173.2 again today probably because I didn't pay much attention to macros this weekend pretty much ate at maintenance or a little above. I am happy with this because I had been on a cycle of gaining tons of water weight (probably fat also) during the weekends, then working it off on the weekday. At least now I don't have to feel like I'm starting over. No gym today still a bit soar decided to just get rest will be at tomorrow morning for weight training/cardio. Goal today is at least 10K steps.
10/2- 173.2 So, I guess I'm stuck now, yesterday went well until the evening when I decided to eat 2 chocolate covered granola bars (kids snacks). Maybe that's why the scale didn't move down, but I won't be discouraged. I went to the gym this morning for weights/cardio, I plan to do my best to make it there tomorrow for an hour of cardio as well. I have to get the evenings back in check, I did pretty well last week with avoiding the late night snacking.
10/3- 171.2 Woosh effect, maybe? Feeling good with that number controlled my late night snacking habit yesterday or really was just to tired to eat. No gym this am, I was sleepy. Weight training/cardio for sure tomorrow though.
10/4- 171.2 This was my first round ever, and this was very helpful with staying accountable and on top of my goals. Unfortunately, last night I wanted to give in and binge so bad I ate pb, grapes, a granola bar, and cheerios after having dinner To top that off I didn't get up for the gym today, but I won't let this kick me out of the game I intend to continue. I will be at the gym tomorrow morning for sure and I will workout during the weekend, those are my goals. Total loss for this round -4.2lbs this is the most consistent I have been in months. I am ready for the next round!
***My goal is to be at least 165 by my b-day 10/308 -

Day/Weight/Comment
9/25 178/Happy to join this group! I lost weight, using a different MFP account, 7 years ago, but I gained it back. Hope I’ve learned my lesson! Wish I’d weighed first thing this morning. 😊
9/26 176.2 (when I woke up), 176.6 (after my walk?) I’m in my first week honeymoon period.
9/27 175.6 I’ll enjoy the rapid decline while it lasts. I know that will soon change.
9/28 174.4 (when I woke up), 174.2 (after my walk) I spent too much time looking at low carb recipes and missed lunch, but it was worth it. I think I’m going to like the new recipes. Now, I don’t want to spoil my appetite for fish tacos this evening.
9/29 173.2 (when I woke up), 172.8 (after my walk). I’ll work harder today to eat all my calories. A church is feeding our singing group this evening, so that will probably help. I’ve decided to follow keto guidelines, so I have to balance carbs and fiber, which is harder than I expected. I’m getting full on fats and proteins, but still falling short on calories and fiber, because I don’t want to exceed my carb limit. I’m determined to learn.
9/30 172.8 I may have had a few extra carbs last night, but I did well with my choices. It was probably the first church dinner when I didn’t have desert, but had extra salad instead. Today is a church lunch at my church. I made a low carb Twice Baked Cauliflower Casserole. I think it will be good. Singing at another church this evening, so no time for a walk today.
10/1 172.2 My first week weight-loss honeymoon is drawing to a close, but it’s been fun! Now, the real work begins. I’ll have to be prepared to persevere when the scale doesn’t move like I want it to move. Thor (my German Shepherd) and I increased our walk to 3 miles this morning. We’ll continue to increase until one of us decides we’ve reached our limit. Meanwhile, today is the day I resume strength training. It’s been a few years. Oh, and yesterday’s Cauliflower Casserole was very tasty.
10/2 172.8 Okay, the honeymoon is over! (sigh) I wonder if the .6 lb. was due to eating blackberries and pecans late last night to get in extra calories. I still haven’t figured out how to eat all my calories without adding extra carbs. Eating 400 calories from extra meat or pork rinds, although the numbers would work, doesn’t seem like the healthiest alternative. I wouldn’t mind eating more vegetables, but they all have carbs. On the bright side, Thor and I are building endurance. We walked our 3 miles, on rolling hills, in less than 60 minutes today. I love my dog. I remembered I have a couple, directors of a children’s home in Zimbabwe, arriving at my home Thursday afternoon to spend the night. I’m putting off the start of my strength training until Friday so I can clean and declutter my house before they arrive.
10/3 172 (when I woke up) and 171 (after my walk) Red flag! Tomorrow, I will drop off a bottle of water to drink on my walk back (one for Thor, too). I was feeling a little nauseous after my 5 min. stop to allow my toe pain to go away. By the time I got home and stepped on the scale again, I was feeling woozy. Tomorrow, I take water and a sweat band or bandana. I wore a sleeveless nylon top this morning and had nothing dry or absorbent to use to wipe my eyes. I knew these things, but it’s been a while. It’s all coming back to me!
10/4 171.8 So, a total loss of 6.2 lb. on my weight loss honeymoon (whoopee!), and I’ve immensely enjoyed hanging out with all you losers (weight losers, that is). You inspire me. My hips were a little sore this morning, and I have lots to do before company shows up this afternoon. We’ll likely be eating BBQ tonight, since I live near the self-proclaimed “Barbecue Capital of Texas.” Would it be weird to carry my food scale tonight? They have a good German Potato Salad, and I don't know if I will cave. I'm trying to eat low carb. Thor and I will forgo our walk this morning. Tomorrow’s another day, and the beginning of Round 55! It will be round 2 for me, and I’ll be ready. See you in Round 55 (Good Lord willing and the Church don’t rise)!

I’m 59, female, mostly plant based, and lover of outdoors. This is my fourth round; the first one really kept me accountable, the second one was an eye-opener and the third one was really hard. What I have learned: 1) my foods and the amounts really matter; 2) My tracking needs to be accurate and if I eat it, it needs to be tracked; 3) Don’t let a slip turn into an all-out landslide! This round’s goals: no eating after supper (and eat at the table, not in front of the TV), no trigger foods, get back up when I fall, develop a “fall” work-out plan (by 10/1/18), and to stay up-to-date with my Bible study. Honor God with my food choices!

R52 SW: 120.6 – EW: 124.4
R53 SW: 126 – EW: 124.4
Day/Weight/Comment
9/25/18 – No weigh in
9/26/18 – No weigh in
9/27/18 – No weigh in. I was considering skipping this round. I’ve been in a funk and am trying to get out. Back in the game! 20 mile bike ride on an awesome bike trial!
9/28/18 – 123.4 / Still trying to find my way!
9/29/18 – 122.4 / time was tight and I ended up walking on the treadmill yesterday during a conference call! Fish fry last night (baked cod), but I did have French fries! 60 minutes of water aerobics this morning and an additional walk planned before the rain comes!
9/30/18 – 124.4 / Got a lot of steps in yesterday (20,000+) and a water aerobics class. Had popcorn last night (homemade) and that usually bring my weight up, so it’s expected. Hopefully tomorrow it’s back down. Fighting a headache today and because of that I’m fighting cravings for junk foods. Being accountable to this with you all and praying for strength. Have a great Sunday!
10/1/18 – 125 / I don’t quite get it. I’m going to concentrate on getting more water in each day. My weight fluctuations are showing me how much even a little cheating affects me. I know some of the foods aren’t good for me, but … Today is October 1 and I picked my Beachbody fitness routine for this month. Since I road bike a lot from the time it gets somewhat warm to the end of October, I wanted to start back at the basics in terms of strength. P90 or Power 90 have worked well in the past … good ‘ole standbys! In November I’m going to attempt the new program LIIFT. It intimates me, so I want to build up a good base this month before attempting anything else. Tonight is water aerobics – love that class!😊
10/2/18 – 122.8 / Went to water aerobics last night and walked this morning. It’s a busy work day and I have lots to do… hopefully that will keep the food cravings at bay! Glad that the weight went down. Consistency is my goal with more water! I’ve realized that trigger foods are not something I can have “in moderation”.
10/3/18 – 121.4 / Goal: more water! Food was on track yesterday. Aiming for another good day! Unseasonably warm, but it’s going to be windy today! Strength training and bike ride.
10/4/18 – 122.8 / Rode 31+ miles in 20 mph winds yesterday; water aerobics this morning. I didn’t sleep well and weighed in quite early this morning and although not where I want to be, it is down from the starting weight!

In all, I want to drop 55 (so I have 51 and a half left now). I'm 5'6" and started weighing 185 lbs, so my goal is about 130. I'm trying to set small, realistic goals so that I can motivate myself with my successes.
My goal for this round is to stay under my calorie goal, 1200, and to lose 3 more pounds.
Round 53: SW: 185 EW: 182 (3 lbs lost)
Round 54: SW: 181.5:
Goal Weight for Round 54: 178.5
Day/Weight/Comment
9/25 181.5; 48 oz of water. 1,000 calories. I’M HUNGRY!!!!
9/26 - 181.2; Didn’t do very well on water intake today, but managed to consume only 1,000 calories. Keto diet is going well, eating lots of fat and around 20 grams of carbs.
9/27 - 182; Ugh. 128 oz of water. Purposely went over my calorie goal today to give my body a sort of restart. 31 grams of carbs. 1,779 calories.
9/28 - Still 182. 1 gallon of water. Ate slightly under 1,121 calories. 16 grams of carbs. Really frustrating that I can’t lose. Trying not to get too discouraged.
9/29 - Yay! Went down to 180.8 today!! Ate slightly under 1200 calories. About 1 gallon of water. 13 grams of carbs. Still only in moderate ketosis, but I honestly feel I am dong well about carb intake and being honest about what I’m eating, so hopefully my body will catch up soon.
9/30 - I’m so discouraged!!! Back up to 182.2. Ate 12 grams of carbs, under 1200 calories. Don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I’m gonna start exercising Monday to see if that will kickstart my immune system.
10/1 - Didn’t weight today. Drank a gallon of water. Ran a mile. 23 grams of carbs. 1300 calories.
10/2 - AAACCCCKKKKKK!!!!!!!! I’m back up to 183!!! I can’t see what I’m doing wrong. Probably all that yo-yo dieting for years before this has slowed my metabolism. Still, that doesn’t explain the steady weight gain. One thing to not lose, but gaining…eh. Tried to do a really skimpy fast day (eating just dinner) today but still ate about 1,000 calories. Kept my carbs low, though. Checking my ketosis tomorrow to see if I am past moderate. Really hope I lose.
10/3 - 182.5. I’m a pound heavier than when I started. No idea why this is happening. Had a bunch of wings in the evening. Generally stayed within my carb limit.

1: DNW I've been MIA for a few months. I know I've gained significantly, but I'm back now. Initial weight check tomorrow morning.
2: 217.9... Made it to the gym today for the first time in quite some time.
3: 218.7... Wrong direction, but it's ok. I didn't have a particular eating plan yesterday, but I did get back to my IF schedule. I was calorie-free before 11am and after 7pm. My first meal today was just after 11am, and I'm heading to the gym in a few minutes.
4: 214.1... I guess I made my 2-pound/round goal after all. 😊 Supper was a little late, so I want done eating until 7:30pm. I did end up with over a 300-calorie deficit though.
There's no such thing as failure; only feedback.

I rarely need to use willpower or motivation, as 100’s of tiny habits I developed slowly over a long time carry me along!
Despite what people say about it gets harder as time goes on, this time I found quite the opposite: it’s been the easiest ever. I only wish The research on changing habits, all of these apps, and the Apple Watch had been invented earlier!
9/25 159.6 water weight from injury & brace I am wearing... all will be fine! Eating less than normal & still walking.
9/26 161 or 162, can’t remember...still retaining a lot of fluids as body responds to break, meds, bruising. Surgery in 7 days.
9/27. 160.4 ***1,000th Day ***
On average, I’ve lost 1/2 a lb per week for 143 weeks!!! 250 calorie deficit daily. Barely noticeable changes over 1,000 days yielded a total weight loss of 68-71 pounds!
Small habit changes + time = big results
Thank you @tiabirdie56 @quiltingjaine @fraukazi @allmannerofthings @abowersgirl @deepwoodslady & @cdavisdeva for your kind words!!! ♥
9/28 160.8 with brace, swelling. Confirm with Dr that I should be having some water retention so I’m more relaxed.
9/29 160.0 with brace, hand towel, swelling
Finally, upwards graph turned downwards...
Managing the pain. Surgery in 5 days!!
Grateful it wasn’t worse.
I hope you all make the most of this late fall weekend! 🍂🍃🍁🌿
9/30 161 w/ brace, towel, swelling
V. Discouraging, but tracking & walking...probably water? Off all pain meds.
10/1 160 w/ brace, towel, swelling (A little higher sodium yesterday...hoping body will release the water soon.)
10/2 159 Finally!! Thank you for the hugs! We are all so strong, & even better together! 👨👩👧👦
10/3 160.2 walking & tracking, ate at maintenance in preparation for healing post surgery.
10/4 surgery day- very early weigh in 161.2

10/02 - 174.0 @quiltingjaine is right. I have lost 2.0 pounds this round which was my goal. I shouldn’t sweat the small fluctuations. But I know I’ve slipped up on my diet and my exercise level has been much lower than usual so I will get back to the grind. However, I should not expect to see the scale go down every single day. It just doesn’t work like that. Thanks @quiltingjaine for reminding me that it is a lifestyle, a journey and a process to lose weight and get healthy. This won’t be my last disappointment I am sure, but I will try to weather the storms with a little more ease and confidence.
10/03 - 174.0 I had a great day yesterday. Stayed within plan. Was busy all day, tired at night and performed no planned exercise but my activity level was way up on my fitbit. Tomorrow night is a social engagement which always involves uncontrolled food choices. My scale should be fine in the morning for the challenge end. However, tomorrow night’s engagement may alter my beginning weigh-in for round 55. I will try to make the best choices possible, and even eat a little before I leave so I will not be so hungry. I do look forward to the nice variety at these things, but that is my plan to enjoy yet still keep it in check. I learn so much of this forum. Thanks to you all! I have been seeing people mention “trend weight” so I am going to start finding out more about it. If anyone has a mathematical formula they use to track this or a website (I’m on a PC) I would love to know the information. What I am hearing from you guys is not to sweat the small fluctuations, keep an eye on the trend. If that is doing well then I’m doing good. I would love this tool.
10/4 - 174.6 I am up a bit today due to sodium. Felt some dizziness yesterday and sipped on a couple of cups of chicken boullion during the evening because it felt like my levels were low. This sometimes happens on my Keto diet because I tend to use Morton Lite Salt which is high in potassium with no sodium. I do try to put a dash of regular salt in some foods to avoid low sodium problems but I must have cut myself a bit short. No biggie as boullion is both low calorie AND low carb. So I am probably retaining a bit of water now. Overall a good day yesterday otherwise. Craved my keto jalepeno poppers and made some for dinner. Yummy. I’ve enjoyed this round folks and while I didn’t make goal due to my water retention, I did lose another 1.4 pounds so for that I am grateful. See you all next round!
