10/06 - 174.6
10/07 - 174.6
10/08 - 174.8
10/09 - 174.8 ..... I need more water, more movement and more control. Otherwise I’ll need to buy Spanx.
10/10 - 175.2
10/11 - 175.6
10/12 - 175.6…..I managed to control my food choices very well during my outing last night and the potluck. I am on lemon parsley water today to get rid of this bloat I’ve had all week. I am also doing an egg fast today. I would like to do it for 3 days but I will take this one day at a time.
An update on my son: There is a reason there has not been a recent update. A few weeks back I caught him sneaking into things he shouldn’t have after having already eaten. I even found that he was hiding things in his room to overeat. I gave it a few extra days before a weigh-in because he gets very discouraged and gives up easily. He had gained nearly 6 pounds! He argued that he was happy to weigh almost 283 pounds. I know, however, with his Autism, I have to help him make better choices and keep reasoning with him without completely turning him off on the idea. I gave him the pep talk then made sure I was serving up delicious meals and snacks that would stay within his plan. I felt like I was doing that already, but I tried to include his favorites.
He has sensory problems so doing that with food is tough. I did my best. His problem is that he wants huge quantities of the foods which puts him way over his calorie limits. And he could never do a low carb diet like I am because he is too reliant on carbs due to his issues. Trying lower calorie versions of foods he loves often doesn’t pass his taste testing and he is hypersensitive to tastes, textures and smells. I knew this would be a battle but, my oh my, he was even cursing at me! Then I thought about my own occasional binge fests and realized what was probably going on. I did not share anything with him about bingeing (at this time), but understood. I am happy to report that after 17 days of "watching it" again, he finally agreed to weigh in and he was 276.2 which is 0.6 lower than his lowest weight. That was on Oct 7, 2018. I will be measuring him soon for inches lost. His weigh and measure days are overdue but I wanted to give him a chance to lose the added weight so he won't just throw in the towel. I am going to keep trying with him or I know he will end up T2D like myself and so many in our family. And he would never tolerate the daily blood checks or, Gosh Forbid, any insulin needles. So the battle has turned into a bit of a war here and it rages on. I am always grateful for those good days when his attitude is great and he is on board to cooperate. Have a great weekend everyone! We have snow flurries here in Michigan! Uggggg
10/13 - 175.0…..First, let me say I am so happy to be typing my weight in red today instead of green or black. Yesterday was day One of my Egg Fast. It went very well. Nighttime is when I want to snack so I saved some cubed cheese just for that. Today was day Two. I hope that my weight in the morning will reflect more loss. I would love to end AT LEAST WHERE I STARTED on this round! Sheesh….. this has been a tough round for me. Next one has GOT to be better. Wishing everyone well for tomorrow’s weigh-in.

All the years my mom had made fried eggplant followed by all my years and I had never heard of this!
@liann1970 and @FarmerCarla On keto, it is most important to hit your protein macro, not go over your carb macro, and use your fats to feel satisfied. You don’t need to meet your fat macro. Carbs are a limit, protein is a target, and fat is the lever to keep you satisfied.
Thanks so much for the info on the lasagna noodles. I am elated that I can have lasagna again. Great tip. Also thanks so much for your compliment in regards to my son. I know you follow his progress as well, and I appreciate that very much. I share those posts about him with him.
I also want to let you know that I love the way you have worded the keto goals. The limit....the target.... the satiety part. I have never heard it put like that but it is EXACTLY what the goals are in keto. Well put!
@jaccimc63 Congratulations on Whiskey. I am sure she will love her new Forever Home.
@tiabirdie56 Well. What can I say that has not already been said? First-you were not kidding about a wall. It's HUGE. Probably the prettiest pink ribbon display I have ever seen (and I've seen a lot of them). Second, everyone here is right- You are not just lovely on the inside, you are lovely on the outside too! I adore all the pink accessories from the glasses all the way down to your shoes. Fabulous! You are a pretty lady and you don't look a pound over 150. Fantastic!
@mthomas0228 Thanks for the wonderful compliment. Best wishes to your child. Like you, I'm sure, I strive to be the very best I can be for him. I know you understand.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieve permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

@tiabirdie56 WOW!!! Tish, that is so cool! You look wonderful.4

I really love this challenge and the participants, it makes me under control somehow. Even I cannot reach my goals, it's really better than nothing. So the previous challenge I really lost a little weight (0.3 kg/0.9 lbs) and that motivated me.
My goals for this challenge:- Drink enough water
- Exercise 3-4 times in a week
- Try to not eat junk food and drink max 3 glasses of alcohol in a week (I don't wanna be hard on myself because I can't)
- Eat nutritious food, not just all carbs
10/5 85.3 kg (188 lbs)
I got really sick yesterday, I was exhausted, lost too much water, however, also drank so much water. I couldn't eat enough.
10/6 85.1 kg (187.6 lbs)
Yesterday I was still sick, and I couldn't move and couldn't eat enough. I'm not sure that this number is my true weight or not. But I hope I could see 84's in this challenge.
10/7 84.6 kg (186,5 lbs)
Obviously, I'm losing water because of sickness. I don't drink enough water. Also, I drank a glass of wine it was really unnecessary and it made my stomach sicker. However, this morning I'm feeling better.
10/8 84.9 kg (187.1 lbs)
I'm really OK with this number. After feeling better, at night I went to the gym and really worked hard. I felt great I really missed going to the gym.
10/9 84.4 kg (186 lbs)
I'm so happy to see this number. Actually, I'm still sick so I cannot eat enough but it kinda disciplines me to eat well. I hope I'll continue like this.
10/10 84.9 kg (187.1 lbs) (before the bathroom weight)
I couldn't weight myself after the bathroom, as usual, I thought that's the reason. But also I don't trust yesterday's number 84.4.
10/11 84.9 kg (187.1 lbs)
Ok, this time not before the bathroom, this is real. I'm still kinda sick, continue to use lots of pills, cannot exercise. And also I should confess that I ate a cheesecake yesterday...
10/12 84.2 kg (185.6 lbs)
Good to see but not healthy yet, so I'm continuing to lose weight (diarrhea). Yesterday I also couldn't eat enough until dinner, because my stomach wasn't feeling good. But at night I ate a few biscuits
And also I cannot drink enough water I think... And cannot exercise
10/13 84.1 kg (185.4 lbs)
I'm feeling healthy today. Yesterday I really craved chocolate so I ate a little chocolate cake in the afternoon but I didn't enjoy much. My stomach was still feeling sick. And after that, I couldn't eat anything. I cannot that enough nutrition obviously... So If I eat like my normal probably my weight will increase, so wait and see...
10/14 84.9 kg (187.1 lbs)
I ate a huge breakfast yesterday, I admit that I really enjoyed it. And so until evening I didn't feel hungry and went to the gym and exercised well. However, I felt hungry late at night and ate dinner. I wished that I would finished this challenged better.8 -
Round 55
SW: 74kg May 2018
GW: below 70kg in Oct and stay there
UGW: below 65 by end of the year
Rounds 47-54 EW: 73-72kg with loads of fluctuations and excuses to over eat.
Day/Weight/Comment
10/05 71kg. New round new determination. Fell off the waggon a bit the last round, but went for a short run this morning. However, the excuses for emotional eating won't stop: It looks like we'll have to put down our 6months old kitten. She's in hospital now and they can't figure out what is wrong with her, none of the tests have shown anything conclusive so far.
10/06 70.8-ish not quite 70.5 yet, but below 71kg. Ate over yesterday, but ran, walked and went boxing in the eve.
Just spoke to the vet and it looks like they have a good idea of what she has (a liver shunt) and in many cases that can be managed with meds and food. And the vet said she's such a little fighter, it would be a shame not to try!!! So we'll pick her up this afternoon - probably much to the dismay of our other cats. And sod the weight and food logging for another day or so. I'll get back to it on Monday
10/07 -70.8 again. On my way to boxing class now, tonight dinner with friends.
Yesterday, I didn't end up eating until around 1.30pm and then nothing again until we arrived home with the kitten around 6pm. She slept for ages, then had some food and is now back to her feisty self, keeping me up half the night with headbutts and very loud purring. I'm so relieved.
10/08 71.5kg - no surprise there after a very big dinner and probably also some water retention from boxing. Packed breakfast and lunch today and planning to run tonight, will see how DOMS is gonna feel.
10/09 70.8 again. Good day yesterday, withun cals, even had pizza and a small ice cream. Went for a run in the eve. Today's plan is to not get carried away at lunch and then boxing class tonight
10/10 70.8kg - oh come on. Even though this is on a non-digital scale and less acurate, the needle has been in the exact same place. I suppose better than a gain. Patience and consistency will eventually pay off. And since there has been so much talk about plateaus, I know a few days is nothing to worry about.
10/11 70.8kg again. Ate ok yesterday and it was a eest day (only walked), but I skipped my run this morning as I'm still sore from boxing. I really could have done with the calories as I have my first leaving dinner with a colleague tonight.
10/12 70.8kg still. Had a lovely eve yesterday, after a hectic day at work, had to skip my lunch time walk so was under my step goals. Then, when I got home, I needed chocolate and ate too much waaay over my cals. I don't understand how I used to eat all these sweets and snacks without thinking it would affect my weight... So staying the same is ok for today. Boxing again tonight, maybe I'll make it to 70.0 by Sunday.
10/13 70.5kg, yes! It might even be 70.3. Weighed in very late after a lie-in, which also meant that i've not eaten in ca 14 hours. Went boxing last night and might run today - it's a beautiful but windy day in London, much warmer than usual for October. Tomorrow is going to be a rest day and Brunch with friends, so will probably eat all the calories for the whole day in one sitting...
I read through the posts from the last day and a half and love how much the conversation redirects from pure weight/food/habit to personal things. Thank you all for sharing. I actually had a dream about his group: @jlemoore I dreamed that you showed us all your Africa trip pictureswhere are you going? I'm in talks about going to Zambia for a couple of months for a job.
10/14 70.5kg no change from yesterday, I did blow my calories with a couple of drinks in the eve.
This was another stressful/emotional round, overall only a very small loss, but also not very consistent with calories, steps or exercise...
Upon reflection, even if I haven't reached my goal and the loss is much slower than I would like it to be, I have lost 3.5kg (around 7.7lbs) in about 4-5 months, which included the football world cup, holidays, plenty of normal life things that I have enjoyed and I went back to counting each time - so overall, i'm gonna call it a success, which I plan to continue. Slow and steady. And given that i've taken up boxing again, i've certainly built some muscle. I'll do my measurements again next round, see you there!9 -
I’m in for round 55 after a break
This will be my 8th round.
USW 6th of May: 210 lbs
UGW: 144 lbs
Challenge goal weight: 169.9 lbs
Previous rounds:

R50 SW: 180.0 EW: 175.9 (-4.1)
R51 SW: 175.3 EW: 172.6 (-2.7)
10/05 – 171.2 lbs Been very slow after the huge losses I had in my last three rounds. Went to the gym today and had a really good workout with my physical therapist. I work out 3 times a week now, and this feels like the perfect amount of workouts for me now. Been having a lot of issues with the mobile app lately, so I haven't been tempted to struggle with forum posts everyday. So slow and it's crashing all the timeBeen logging everyday and staying under my calorie goal since the last time I was participating in this challenge. I have been weighing once a week, was kinda nice to have a break from the daily weigh-ins. I have also chosen to open my diary to friends to hold my self accountable.
10/06 - 170.1 (-1.1) Had to step on the scale 3 times to make sure this was right 😂 Awesome!
10/07 - 170.4 (+0.3) A small bump up from yesterday. Not worried, still a huuge loss in 2 days. Ate a lot of sodium yesterday, so it’s probably just water :-) a mini goal for the day is that I’m gonna drink a minimum of 4 glasses of water today.
10/08 - 169.3 (-1.1) Whooosh! I’m seeing the number 6 and I am so happy! 😃 I did complete the mini goal I set for myself yesterday and I’m gonna set a new one for today. My minigoal for the day is to go to the gym and do some cycling, strength training and core training (for atleast 30 min). Good to see that my little plateau is ending and I’m just whooshing. My weight has been standing very still since R51.. but I have stayed under my calorie goal even if I have had a small break from these challenges. Sometimes the scale won’t budge for a while and I get a big whoosh after. Can be really demotivating to see that the scale is standing still, so it’s just a fabulous feeling when I whoosh like this 👌🏻
10/09 - 167.9 (-1.4) !! 😃
10/10 - 167.3 (-0.6) Now I finally dare to say that I reached my goal this roundAnd it’s great to finally see number 6 on the scale everyday!
10/11 - 167.3 (--) No change todayIt is that time of the month for me today, so I suspect that I will see a small bump up tomorrow.
10/12 - 167.3 (--) Whaat! No change today either. Was really expecting a bump up this morning, so this is good news!
10/13 - 166.6 (-0.7) Almost forgot checking in today.. But I thought of it right when I was about to go to bed. Hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend!I went shopping today, and finally it's really fun trying on stuff. Had to throw out my entire closet since I went from XXL-XL to a M. Feels good filling it up with clothes again! I bought 3 sweaters and a jacket
I think I will be a S-M when I'm done with the weight loss, so the clothes I bought today will probably fit when I'm done. My confidence is slowly growing back a bit, but I still kinda see my "huge" arms. It's a weird phase! Hope I'll be comfortable with wearing dresses without sleeves and t-shirts soon, I just think I have to change something in my head ahah.. I guess it's normal at any size to be way to hung up on our imperfections. I also feel like I need to hide my stomach while sitting down, but if I look in a mirror I can't really see my stomach sticking out.. So weird to get used to not hiding away when wearing something that clings a bit to my body. I used to be at this weight when I was in high school, but I never owned a tight piece of clothing. Always bought tops and dresses that were a bit wide.. When I looked back at pictures at the beginning of this journey, I was like wtf I was actually not big back then. "What was I thinking?" I have to say that I feel more confident at this weight now than I ever was back in high school, I always thought I was the chubby girl. I'm gonna try to focus on more clothing items that actually compliments my body instead of hiding it away, maybe if I force myself to do that my mindset will change a bit. Does anyone have any experience with this? haha.. I want to retire from the hoodies and be more feminine.
10/14 - 166.4 (-0.2) I’ve lost a total of 4.8 lbs this round.. Totally unexpected and a reeeal motivation boost! It’s my birthday today, so I cut back on calories yesterday to fit in a slice of cake today haha. That sounds so horribble when you write it 😂 I don’t ever do stuff like that, but I feel like I’m just so close to my goal that I don’t want to sink my progress with anything. Anyway, I’m just really happy that I had so much progress this round. Cya next round 😍👏🏻

Foggy, drizzly Sunday morning here, but I have a good day planned, including a walk (indoors if necessary) and some painting time (watercolors, not walls). I hope you all have a lovely, healthful day!

I seem to have hit a new hover point. That's fine. One of these days something will change and I'll drop a little more. It's going to be in the high 80s today (again) and low 80s tomorrow, and then drop to the more Octobery 50s, and I'm planning lots of walks and hopefully a hike or two now that I feel a bit better. I love October!

Last night I went to a potluck and there was nothing I could eat with my restricted diet - I had been hoping for some veggies at least. And even what I took was off my list - I had planned to make something I could eat, but spent the afternoon at the vet's office getting an ultrasound for my dog, and ended up just grabbing some lemon muffins at the bakery. But the hostess graciously pulled a leftover roast chicken out of the fridge, so I had chicken and an apple. Perfect! I can't say I was even tempted by all the great looking food - I've stuck to this elimination diet for almost 4 weeks and have 2 more to go before I start adding things back to test them, and I wasn't going to blow those 4 weeks for a few minutes of pleasure! Now I'm waiting for the ultrasound evaluation by the radiologist.

10/05 - 151.5 - I'm up again for no other reason than weight fluctuations. I'll have to really watch what I eat this weekend so I don't bump up too much more on Monday.
10/06 - 150.5 - I didn't expect this weight this morning after I ate close to 1500 calories yesterday, but I'll take it!
10/07 - DNW - I had to move the scale because of our bathroom remodel and I woke up at 3:45 this am and didn't think my husband would appreciate me turning on lights to check my weight. Our son-in-law is in town and staying with us to do the remodel and we've had a couple cookouts. I made vegetable side dishes, but I've eaten about 1500 calories a day the past couple days, so tomorrow's weigh in may not be pretty. That's why I'm here though, to face any gain and get back on track.
10/08 - 151.5 - It could have been worse, although sometimes it takes a couple days for the sodium to show up. Water today!
10/09 - 150.5 - I ate about 1100 calories yesterday and drank my water. I hope my body cooperates and shows another little loss before the end of the week.
10/10 - 150.5 - I'm good with this. At least it's not going up!
10/11 - 150.5 - I'm hoping for a little drop soon.
10/12 - 149.5 - A new low! This should help my trend weight for the week.
10/13 - 149 - Although I'm excited about another new low, I'm more excited about the rescue dog we just adopted yesterday! We already love her. It occurred to me this morning that my weight loss slowed down after our last dog died in July. Even though we'd had to limit her walks (bad leg) I realized that there are a lot of other things that increase my activity with a dog in the house. I have a feeling that our new dog "Whiskey" and I are going to help each other get healthier.
10/14 - 149.5 - Very happy to end the challenge at this weight!10 -

Goal: whatever these 10 days bring!
Happy so far .. I’ll stick with no specific goal for the round. I’d like to be 160 generally, but my ultimate stretch goal is 150
10/05 - 195
10/06 - 194 - my scale may have been pulling tricks on me, kept flickering but let’s see! I didn’t eat enough yesterday though.. trying to substitute all bad foods except for one treat each day. Seems to be working f r now. Can’t eliminate all at once!
10/07 - 195 had a late night snack.. today’s not good either since we went apple picking and I couldn’t pass up those apple cider doughnuts!!! Let’s see how bad it will be tomorrow
10/08 - 195 it’s a miracle!
10/09 - 194.5 forgot to post it the last 2 days! doing ok! Doesn’t look like it will be a big weight loss round but that’s ok. I can tell when I put on my jeans and shirts that there’s a difference
10/10 - 194 woohoo! I just don’t have enough time to eat lol
10/11 - 195 I ate way too many carbs yesterday.. at least a lot more than normal. Pasta for lunch, pizza for dinner. I try to limit the heavy card to one meal if necessary! Hopefully tomorrow will be better... I seem to be under calorie goal so far.
10/12 forgot to weigh in the morning before started eating
10/13 forgot I guess? I didn’t even realize 🤦🏻♀️
10/14- 194 - happy to be back to this number and end this round off with a loss!! I toggled between 195 and 194 all round. Want to definitely make progress next

@rainykatie I don’t know where you live but you might get a second opinion on the pup. 40 years ago when my cat got clipped by a car, our country vet said he couldn’t fix him but he could send him to Colorado Springs and they could use plates and screws to put him back together. I didn’t opt for that but ortho procedures have improved so much since then . . .
@bubblegum2fitness I love Wii fit! I need to get that back out! Put away to lack of space but I need to accommodate it and not sit all day!
@ssssanaaaa With recommended max losses of 1.5-2#/week that would be 2.25-3 each 10 day challenge. Weight loss isn’t linear and with the anticipated ups and downs, I think you are doing fine.
@iLadyT My go to “breakfast” when I started keto was cheddar and bacon. I do my bacon in the oven 2# at a time so it is in the fridge and ready when I want it. Put a slice of cheddar (I used cheddar from a block) on parchment, one or 2 slices of bacon, and cheddar on top. Microwave long enough to melt the cheese, allow to cool enough to pick up and enjoy! Bacon and extra sharp cheddar got me through the first weeks of keto with ease. I should add that I have never been an early morning eater. Breakfast is usually around 10:30 or 11.

@deepwoodslady When I started keto, I kept reading “carbs are a limit, protein is a goal, and fat is the lever.” I don’t know how long it was before I understood what they were saying by “lever,” just thick headed I guess.

**UPDATE 10/11/18 My original goal was my last WW goal 137, when I got there I decided to give myself a couple of pounds for fluctuations. I had noted that my high school weight was 125 which, at that time, weight charts said was about 20# too much but pictures from high school do not show that. So I am not stressing about what I weigh, I’m sticking to my plan and still losing. I’m curious to see where this takes me. I have thought about going to the gym and have been joining a friend to walk the treadmill a couple of times a week. When we get home from this trip, I may get serious. 🎀10/5 - 180.2 - My carb grams have been much higher in the past week. Yesterday the carbs were wheat flour in the form of Texas toast croutons (10) and pumpkin tortilla chips (12) They were good and crunchy, just what I needed. 😁 But what springboarded (Is that an actual word? Today it is because I'm tired) me back to 180 was not enough sleep. Making the flowers for the wall has me keeping very late hours and I've been averaging 4 hrs of sleep every night this week. Today, I finish up the flowers and assemble the boards for the wall. Every part of this project is a PROJECT. I'll take a break tonight and tomorrow, then get back to it Saturday evening and Sunday. I want it to be ready for transport on Wednesday.
🎀10/6 - 179.2
🎀10/7 - 180.2 - Not enough sleep and a really high carb day that was not vegetables. It's all good, be over soon.
🎀10/8 - 181.4 - Absolutely carbs
🎀10/9 - 181.8 - Good thing my fortitude is a lot stronger than 3lbs of fluid! Another high carb/calorie day. Today may be the same. Yesterday, I was rested, this morning, very tired, as if I had a strenuous workout.
🎀10/10 - 181.2 - Very late night quick "meal" early weigh in after 4 hrs of sleep. My friend and I thought we were would be finishing up the flower application on the wall last night. NOT! Ran out of flowers. So, last minute dyeing of filters and now I'm trying to expedite the drying of them. There is still a lot to do before Saturday. The next photo I post will be on Saturday when the flower wall is in position and on display. I must say that it is gorgeous. Not at all how we imagined it would look. It is impressive.
🎀10/11 - 181.4 - Up all night glueing flowers. TIRED. Rested for two hours and now back at it. Hoping it doesn't have to be another all nighter.
🎀10/12 - 181- Surprised at this early weigh in. High carbs again yesterday, but under 93g total. Completed the flower wall at 1am, in bed by 2:15, sleep by 2:18 I'm sure. Up at 6am, smh. I will post a pic of the wall , but lying flat on the floor doesn't do it justice.
🎀10/13 - No weigh in this morning, but I'm sure my weight is still in the 181 range. I'll take care of that after today.
🎀10/14 - 179.8 - Surprised me this morning. I did not expect to end this round with only a .8 lb gain I'm grateful for that. I had to be at the church a couple of hours before the event in order to help my friend set up the wall. I took 4 TBS of peanut butter to eat later in the day. There were snacks offered to the guests, not healthy ones as you can imagine. I needed some salt, so I ate a 1oz bag of chips. I needed some energy, so I ate 2 dunkin munckins. They were supposed to be pumpkin flavored and tasted like pure sugar. Then I ate my peanut butter. Should have eaten the peanut butter first and saved myself from eating the junk. My eating was off for most of the last 8 days. My tiredness had me wanting something crunchy, but I didn't "crave" it. Two days I ate over 2000 calories and one day on cusp of 2000 cal. Two days 200 calories over maintenance, one day a few calories over target and two days under target.
I may do a one day fast this week to give my digestive tract a rest.
P.S. ~ These 10 day rounds seem to be really flying by!
