Finally checking in post vacation. I had a GREAT time. I didn't log a single bite. I ate whatever I wanted, had a few drinks, and walked over 12 miles during the week on Seattle's hilly Queen Anne neighborhood and downtown. And I'm down almost a pound! I feel really refreshed, it's so what I needed!3 -
Way to go @moodybear2003 !!!0

Thank you @DebCountsAll ! I am grateful that my motivation has kicked in. Getting to that point is one of the biggest challenges! Hope you are doing well.2

I did better this week. I’m still struggling to get back on the straight and narrow from my cheating week. Hubby’s dinner requests (fried chicken and fried okra with corn bread) aren’t helping either. I’m gonna need some extra will power.

Just started again 35 days ago and counting.
Today is harder..i didnt get as much sleep which i find makes me less motivated.
But the fact that the weekend just passed and i didnt shoot back up to my starting weight again is definitely keeping that in check!3 -

Just like @JulieH32563 says "Slow and steady" and I am okay with that. To me it means the fat is gone for good. If it takes time to lose it, then its all fat and not water. At least that is what I am telling myself. At this rate I should be able to meet my goal by Christmas. Fingers crossed!2 -
You’re doing it right @raindogmaa! Keep it up.0

I need to listen to my own “slow and steady” advice. I’m still feeling like I’m not making much progress.
As everyone has likely heard already, I had a night out at the neighbor’s Halloween party. I so rarely drink that I don’t want to lecture myself about the perils of drinking empty calories and yet...I still am. I could’ve had a much better accounting today. Alas, better luck this week.

Yay! I just posted a thread today that I was looking for support/friends losing 100 lbs or more. My name is Lizy. I’m 37 and looking to lose 140 lbs. I left an abusive relationship and after fighting a year just to get a divorce I’m finally free to work on myself! My controlling ex didn’t want me to lose weight after having our daughter because “guys will look at me.” So now I’m ready to be healthier for my daughter and myself without anyone trying to hold me back! Happy to be here! Feel free to add me. 😊😊😊4

Two steps forward one step back! I guess I can, at least, be grateful for only one step back. It could’ve been so much worse...and yet, it could’ve been so much better. #thestruggleisreal3 -

Nov 10 / 237.4 / I weighed less yesterday, but last night’s dinner wasn’t until 9 pm and that really affects me even if the calories and sodium are on point.

So, what's going on with everyone? This thread has really been quiet. What are your plans for the holidays?
I'm just going to put myself out there and say that on the ACTUAL holiday, I will celebrate and likely go over on calories, but here's the thing: One meal, or even one day, doesn't derail progress. I do plan to stick with it on non holidays. I am debating making cookies this year because I don't really want the temptation right in front of my nose for six weeks straight.
I don't want to have to re-lose weight due to the holiday "season." I can celebrate and have fun and NOT go over on calories, even with company present. On the other hand, I'm not going to beat myself up about it either. It is time to get off the guilt train1 -
My first time posting but not my first time looking for support!
Last week I started teaching a class for 4H on health and nutrition and I know all the kids are wondering how on earth I can teach them about health! And their right, how can someone who needs to lose 100 pounds teach them about being healthy?
So instead I'm turning this around and I'm letting them teach me! If only I would have learned what they are now learning, I feel as if I wouldn't be where I am today!
Starting with sugar! Our lesson had the kids measure out how much sugar was in a regular soda...holy crap! I knew it was bad, but I didnt know HOW BAD until I measured it out!
Thanks for listening. I hope to make some friends here 😁4 -

Hello! I'm from East, TN where I've lived for 30 years. As of this morning I have 105 lbs to lose. I got down to 255 last October. I've since gained 15 lbs lost 20 and gained it and another 10 lbs back again . I'm tired of this roller coaster of losing and gaining, of feeling defeated and giving. I'm tired of hurting, being tired all of the time. I was doing weight watchers earlier this year, then gave up for two months feeling defeated. Yesterday, I decided I am going to do this, I can do this. I'm logging in both my ww app and I wanted to see if I'm staying under my calories on ww. I don't think I was doing so last time around. Looking for motivation and welcome to new friends!2 -

Hey, what an excellent way to teach kids! Tell the adult how to get healthy and stay that way!
Plus, there's the difference between KNOWING and DOING. I don't know how long this class will last, but I think showing that you are doing what they say you should will leave a truly lasting impression.
Welcome!

Welcome! I'm down somewhere between 55 and 60 pounds and started about ten pounds heavier than you are now. I know it has really helped me to know that I have compatriots in weight loss, no matter how our health/fitness/goals differ.0 -

The suspense is killing me.... so so so close to ONEDERLAND!!!
Welcome to the new friends, the lurking friends AND the old friends checking in. This board has been quiet. Let's get this party started. It's so nice to come to a thread where we can all relate to the challenges, struggles and victories that this journey brings. I am down to help support us through the holidays. It can be a tough time for those of us that love food and use it as a crutch. I am mainly talking about myself, but I am sure you can relate.
I am having foot surgery 11/28... so I'm trying to get as much physical activity in now before I will be laid up for a couple of weeks. The holiday baking will be a challenge, so I'm only making one treat to give as gifts.
Here's to a successful week to everyone!2
