I unfortunately don't have time to catch up with everyone here. I bet you all continue to be amazing!
As for me, I am now completely healed under my boobs and I am going to try my new bra on a long run tomorrow. I am stoked to run again. It's been over a week. I am at least completely recovered in my legs, but I am tired of not running! It's beyond time!
I am amending my goal to 75 miles for November from the previous goal of 100 since I lost an entire week to my poor bloody boobs. I came to the conclusion that the bras I was wearing will be fine for short runs, but not for longer ones, and that I need more than one type. They have a seam that rubbed in the wrong spot. Rotating different ones (and finding a good seamless one) will avoid that. Desitin diaper rash cream healed me up fairly quickly, but i waited for all the scabbing to be completely gone before going out again. Kept it dry. Bodyglide doesn't seem to work on longer runs. Maybe I need to reapply it midrun. I know some people do that. I have invested in a couple new shirts to try too.
November goal: 75 miles
11/1: recovery
11/2: recovery
11:3: recovery

If you haven't already answered it -
The Monthly Question is : What have I done for my tomorrow self?
It helps everyone get to know you a little bit
5km saunter along the Riverbank Trails tonight in the dark - a treacherous cover of snow and ice made it interesting.
Winter has arrived in full force

As for the follow up question, what is health? This is a different question/answer for me. It's one that I ask my patients all the time. It is different for every culture and for every person. For me, it IS a healthy weight. BUT it is also a healthy mind, a healthy body, healthy relationships, etc. It's NOT any one specific thing. I believe that to be healthy, we have to take care of ourselves FIRST. I have to love me before I can love others. It took me a long time to figure this out.9

Went for a bike ride today. Some local musicians/comedians have this song about running in our city (hilarious if you understand Polish), and one of the lines is "feel our hills, in your limbs". Yep, I did that today. Went a different route because of boredom and to avoid a particular hill I just didn't feel like doing today, and instead did more hills and a longer distance than my usual. It was fun.
I have some easy running planned this week and a 5k trail Independence Day celebration on Sunday.

@ContraryMaryMary You have a Garmin that prescribes rest? That's it, I NEED a Garmin lol.
@garygse :-D I so know what you mean, some random person who actually seems to run (as opposed to my shuffle) seems to possess my body when I race too. I'm just praying the random person has what it takes to keep going for 13.1 miles!
I missed the beginning of month question. What have I done for my tomorrow self? Pretty much changed her entirely since the beginning of 2017: I quit smoking, lost 28 kilos and started running. Not only has my body changed, my mindset has completely changed too. I went from a doormat people walked all over who spent most of her time in tears to some sort of confident person who takes no chit from anyone and goes for what she wants. Sadly for anyone who doesn't like me this means a) I'm probably going to be around for a lot longer than I would have been if I'd carried on living as I was, and b) I'm far more likely to argue with them :-)
7km run this morning, I still can't get over the fact that what just 3 months ago was a considerably long run (and also caused me shin splints the first couple of times I went that far!) is now just a run of the mill training run. It's cool enough here now in the mornings that my fingers actually felt numb for the first 20 minutes or so and I didn't even break into a sweat until kilometre 6. Should probably have taken a jacket out with me, but I hate having to carry stuff when I'm running and I already cart my phone and a bottle of water along with me. Was nice once I got into the sun though.
2/11: 7km
4/11: 11km
6/11: 7km
November goal: 125km. Completed so far: 25km11 -
re: Guy Fawkes. It always seems odd to me, that we celebrate a man trying to blow up Parliament by using explosives. But then really what we are celebrating is the fact that he DIDN'T blow up Parliament, and I guess when the bonfire is lit and the 'guy' is placed on it, that symbolises him being hoisted by his own petard as it were.
Just as an aside, England does NOT have a tradition of burning at the stake. Even witches were generally hanged.
but I digress,
I went out to run this morning. Alarm went off, body was happy to get up and run. Brain kicked in a minute after the alarm and said
'go back to bed'
Body thankfully ignored this and got dressed. Brain continued mumbling, and even as I left the house it said
'go back inside and have a cup of tea'
started my run, got part way down the road and Brain threw a curve ball at me -
'I want to sit and cuddle the piggies'
well that won. Took a detour, which did give me a small hill, but probably cut my actual distance in half. Just for some piggie cuddles.
Body now needs to figure out a way of defeating Brain.

Wow. Didn't see that coming.
What kind of area do you live in that gives you access to cuddling piggies?3 -

lol i reset my password before I realised it may not be me. grrr
It finally let me on using my browser, my app still won't let me on. How are the people posting that they can't log in managing to post? I couldn't get on by any means, the computer wasn't working either. I was getting really depressed at the idea of trying to calculate carbs manually!
All is working now, but last night the app on my phone would not work at all, but using a browser on the computer let me into all things.1 -

No posting this without pics ma'am😋!
3.4 miles this morning and I am on the board for the month finally. Had to run at home this morning as voting before work. Also managed to find my headlamp and so running in the dark is now an option. Have a great day all.5 -

How about you edit your route so that you sweep past them on the way BACK instead? Do your miles get the reward!4 -
Haha cross post @girlinahat .1

06/11 3.15 miles
Missed 3 full weeks but not going to beat myself about it as this is my busiest time of year with work and its always the same.
Monthly question: What in the world have you done for your tomorrow self this year?
Not alot or what I had hoped anyway, I'd hoped to have lost weight, instead I've gained. I'd hoped I'd have got faster but haven't. I have kept running though, as I want to still be able to in 20 years time for my own fitness and wellbeing. It was an important year for 2 of my kids sitting important exams and one starting college which took it's toll too. Thankfully that went well. I am trying to improve my french for a road trip my husband and I are planning for next August. We plan to drive from Marseille or Montpellier to Geneva over 5/6 days.

@girlinahat so cute! I was guineapig monitor at junior school, looking after Bubble and Squeak. I loved taking them home for the school holidays. My mum and dad were always really sad when I took them back in September.6
