Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: I had lots of fluctuations this week but since I weigh daily I knew why and I expected them and they didn't bother me. I'm a little below range right now, but with Thanksgiving coming up I'd rather be a little under for now. I will try to eat moderate portions over the holiday, but I am going to eat all my favorites and will very likely go over my calories. I'm not going to try to go over, but I'm not going to worry if I do either. So if this week and next week I am at the low end of the range I will feel more relaxed about what I eat and drink on the holiday. I just hope the weather is ok so that I can get some runs in. I know that you can't outrun a bad diet. But in my experience you can outrun a good diet. As long as I'm running I can pretty much eat what I want and actually have to work sometimes to make sure I eat enough. But next week there will be pie and birthday cake for my son and sweet potato casserole and pie so I'm sure I will be able to eat enough. I just hope I'll be able to run enough too. lol7 -

I'm so annoyed. I think there's something wrong with my scale. Last last week I weighed myself and I was 147.3. Today I weighed myself and I was 157.8. ??????? I replaced my scale a few months ago and I got it at Target and the only ones they had were these fancy glass ones. I got the most normal/basic looking scale they had but it's still glass, and it's a weight watchers brand. Anyway. I don't like it. The last one I had was a cheap health-o-meter brand from walmart and I liked that scale and it worked perfectly for years until my toddler broke it.

I replaced my scale a few months ago because the body composition button quit working most of the time. The new scale wasn't accurate as compared to my other scale and to a balance that I have access to at work. The body composition numbers were also way off. I took it back, and now most days I just record weight. Take your scale back and get one that works better. That's an easy way to be happier, yes?

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week:
I'm trying to learn to eat all the calories I need without resorting to empty calories - If that makes sense... I exercise quite a bit; I'm training for a 1/2 marathon and I'm a cyclist. I often need to eat 3,000 calories per day. I could always add the chips, or the cake, or the whatever to up the calories, but I'm a bit scared of that. I know the answer is to eat more of the things I normally eat - but that's hard too. It's a lot of food and I'm often full. I sometimes end the day with calories left. I know I'll figure it out. I'm just trying to be mindful of what I'm doing. I'm not afraid to eat. I just don't want to get back in the habit of snacking and eating those empty calories that led to my weight gain in the first place.
It's a better problem to have than still being obese though...6 -

I don't think I can take it back, I've had it for at least a few months now.0 -

If you bought it from wal-mart, they will take back almost anything. Just might get store credit w/o box or receipt.0 -

Success/Struggles: So having 3 restaurant meals between Sunday and Monday didn't have any noticeable impact on my weight. I keep thinking I will have some big indulgent meal but I haven't been tempted by anything at restaurants lately. My meals weren't all that different than what I'd normally eat because that's what looked the tastiest to me. I did think I ate a bit more than usual but not all that much. I'm starting edging my intake up a little bit and see how it goes. Part of me is hesitant because of the holidays approaching but I know a random day here or there won't derail me so I'm pushing that aside.
I just need to figure out what I really need for maintaining slightly higher than I currently am. Looking at the step logs on my phone I'm so much more active now than I had been, even up to a few months ago, outside of the gym, which explains my slight downward weight trend even with the same calories where I'd been on a slight upward trend.5 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: I still need to sleep better for sure. So I am going to try my best to do so on Mondays and Fridays. Other than that, I have admittedly had intense sugar cravings earlier in the week which I think again has to do with my lack of quality sleep. And not sleeping well made it so that even when I did indulge in sugary snacks, I felt no boost to my energy at all under less an hour after eating. Therefore, this week, I will sleep 6 hours for sure at least on Mondays and Fridays. It's good for me, it's good for my kids, and it's good for everyone!
Keeping it going,

I'm relatively new to maintenance too, and I keep backsliding above my goal range. So I'm no expert! That said, I noticed you give yourself a really SMALL range for maintenance of just two pounds. Could you consider making that range a little larger just to prevent feeling like you're not maintaining if (when) you go over or under? Or maybe your weight doesn't swing around as much as some do. Mine's a few pounds day to day normally. More if I have a big eating day or eat certain foods.

I hadn't give that category much thought, but a good weight maintenance range for me would be around 120 to 125 lbs. And oh my god, just simply posting on here once a week helps so much with my goal to maintain my weight loss. This is so amazing!5 -
I'm trying to have a focused November so I can feel better about a few relaxed higher calorie day in December guilt-free.
Learning in maintenance that weight can go up a bit if I'm prepared make the adjustments to go down.
I had higher calories in October due to the end of marathon training carb-loading and post-marathon runger.
Now I'm doing a little tweaking to come back to the middle of my goal weight range.

A good week. Been maintaining a 1,000 kilojoule deficit for over 3 weeks now, and the weight is going down appropriately (0.25 kg a week). Nice validation of my good logging and calorie burn calculations, too!
Moving average is still over the middle of my goal range, but it's still 3 weeks till my first Chrimbo function, so plenty of time.7 -
