2. Skip the TM. Get up early and run bike swim or do weights
3. Fetch more tea and que up another binge worthy show
4. Uhoh.. maybe hide. Dh just found the empty cookie package and asked if i was cooking cookie dough. I said "what dough?"
5. Ah! I got it. Go register for that race i said i would.
Am i the only one that is this freekin lazy?

10K on trails. Beautiful running day, even a little bit too warm - topped out at about 65. Every family in Memphis was walking and/or cycling on the trails, it was a bit of an obstacle course. Felt fast, usually we average about 13 minute miles on these particular trails and today we were about 12.6 -
One week of not following the thread - thanks to a couple crazy ~14h days at work, followed by a lazy "recovery" weekend without switching on my computer - and I am thirty pages behind. Thirty! I went back the last 10 pages, but there's no way I can comment on everything...
At least I got a nice bit of exercise this weekend, after a week of almost nothing. Upper body dumbbell workout Friday evening (feeling it today) and lower body dumbbell workout yesterday (also feeling to today ), a ~30min run yesterday, a ~90min run today, plus two hours at the climbing gym. I'm going to sleep well tonight
I'm at 82km for November so far, not sure I'll make my 150km goal...

@MegaMooseEsq All the best for you and your mother *hugs*
@ContraryMaryMary Great race photos, and an epic race!
@BruinsGal_91 I get upset when people line up too much in the front. I prefer to start a bit back, to make sure I'm not getting in the way of faster runners or going out too fast, but the last time that not only meant having to overtake everybody who has a different approach, but getting stopped completely when a group of four women stopped side by side for a group selfie 50m after the start. WTH people?
At least you got a nice medal out of it.

I ran out of spoons months ago. Otherwise, I'd lend you some.1 -
@_nikkiwolf_ @BruinsGal_91 I wrote a blog about Rock n Roll Vegas and included a mini-rant on people who don't start where they should. There were a couple of women, who started a couple corrals ahead of me, and I overheard them say it would take 4 hours to finish. I assumed they were doing the marathon (all marathoners started in the first color group of corrals). I glanced at their bibs and they were doing the half! They clearly lied about their time to get a blue color bib as 4 hours was the cut off for the half. They should have been in the third color group.
Also, I passed them within the first quarter mile. They were walking.0 -

November goal: 75 miles
11/1: 4.1 miles
11/4: 8 miles
11/6: 4.2 miles
11/7: 4.6 miles
11/8: 3.1 miles
11/10: 3.2 miles Wags & Whiskers 5K - 1st place female/3rd overall
11/13: 4.1 miles
11/14: 3.6 miles
11/15: 4.1 miles
11/18: 8.1 miles
I ran 8.1 miles today. It was cold and windy. I waited until around 2pm when it was 43F with 13 mph NNW winds so it felt like 37 which was the warmest part of the day. It took me a about 3/4 of a mile to get into it, but overall it was a good run. It was cloudy all day, but the sun did peek out a little during my run so that was nice. I was kind of annoyed by my outfit though. I certainly understand the idea about not wearing anything new during a race. I wore a shirt that I have never run in before and it drove me up the wall. It kept rolling up so my stomach felt cold even though I had a jacket on. My flipbelt is starting to move a bit too and that was also annoying. I don't know if they stretch out, or if I just need a smaller size. And I only have one pair of long pants and they fit ok, but the waist is a little loose so I felt like my pants were slipping. It would have been really annoying if it had been a race. But even with my pants slipping down and my shirt and flipbelt riding up, I enjoyed the run. Then I came home and made lasagna so that was good.
@zdyb23456 Congrats on your PR. I hope your stomach feels better soon.
@BruinsGal_91 Some people are just self-absorbed. But good job on the 5K.
@MegaMooseEsq Sorry about your mom. It sounds like you've had more than your share of stress lately. But congrats on the house!

1118-10.1k total-39.2k, goal-100k
Finished the 10k race at the Shanghai Marathon yesterday.
Obligatory bling:
It was very crowed - the clock said 16 minutes had gone by when I arrived at the starting line. I kept elbowing people when they tried to pass me, and tangents were pretty much impossible.
Atmosphere was great. I kept trying to speed up so I could read what people's t-shirts said Weather was great - about 15 degrees C (60F) and raining just a tiny bit. The wind picked up and it started pouring about an hour after I finished, so most of the marathoners I knew either achieved a PB because it was too cold to slow down, or got a DNF.
Oh and I saw this guy behind me at the finish line.
He might need a faster dinosaur.16 -

Hey! We're almost 2/3 of the way through the month, and I'm just chiming in. I'm still running. I'm not sure how much I've run this month, but for the rest of the month my goal is going to be to run 3-4 times each week. I'm feeling very winded when I run, and I'm not running far...usually only a couple of miles each time. I'm thinking that the main reason for this is that I'm not running consistently. Some weeks I'll get out there three times, and some weeks I only run once. So I'm going to try to commit to running 3-4 times a week to see if this helps. And then I'm going to try to increase my distance. I'm also planning to run the cocoa cup 5k in my hometown beginning of December.8

I love everything about this (except the DNFs).2 -

I think international marathons tend to do that. A bunch of bigger races here do the same. They want to attract people from many countries, and English tends to be the common language. I'm so glad I learned it from childhood!7 -

4 cold 36F miles this morning (I know.... balmy compared to a lot of you but that's pretty cold in Texas), and it was a slow warm-up mile, but ended up not being so bad. That's almost always the case....I feel so much better after a run. Guess it is needed therapy.
Nice 10K @noblsheep!8 -
I completed my 5th week, 1st run of my Fat to First Mile program yesterday on a balmy 29 degree Maine day. I overestimated how much to wear but not by too much. I ended my run carrying my jacket. It was a harder run than my past weeks, partly because my run intervals jumped by a full minute, but also because the cold air stiffens up my knee (any advise for this out there?) and I'm not used to breathing the colder air longer than just to and from my car. I got it done though! I also signed up to work with a personal trainer at my gym to up my cross training. Tonight is my first session - wish me luck!

Glad you had a good 10k @noblsheep! Love the dinosaur guy.
@debrakgoogins great job on finishing up week 5 in the cold. I don't have much advice about the knee other than making sure to do some warming up before running, maybe another layer to keep warm (I wonder if a hand warmer type thing would help too?), but good luck working with your trainer tonight. Maybe strengthening will help your knee too. I've just loved doing more strength/cross-training with a trainer, which was a total surprise to me because I actively hated working out at the gym before.

Gave some thought to making today and Thursday rest days, but cloudy, foggy, and 35 degrees F got me out today for my scheduled recovery run. Will rest tomorrow, and see what the rest of the week brings.4 -
@noblsheep - that guy's dinosaur costume is probably the best I've ever seen! That is absolutely hilarious.
@MegaMooseEsq - sounds like your stress level is sky high right now. Hang in there.
I'm a slow runner and I probably place myself further back than necessary because I don't want to be "that person" that gets in the way! I've found that placing myself near the back actually tends to open up more space anyway.
I've been asked by a new acquaintance to teach her how to run. She's asked me a few times about running and - you know how it is - my face lights up and suddenly I can't stop yapping about it. When she asked me to "teach" her I didn't know what to say. How do you teach somebody to run? So I told her about the C25K program - which she's already downloaded onto her phone and we've agreed that in the spring, I'll help her through it. I'm intimidated by this and excited all at the same time.
Progress for Sedona is coming along great. I'm really liking the program I chose (suggested by someone on this thread - Higdon's Intermediate #2)
So far - 9/64 complete - not including today's anticipated 6 mile run. It's only 28 F outside right now - but it won't get much warmer than that so I might as well just do it. At least there's not much wind.10
