Round 61 - (my 2nd round)
51, Standing: 5'9" in NYC
OSW: 274 ~ CSW: 234.2 ~ GW: 230
12/03 ~ 235.2 - End R60 not too bad overall. Down 1.6 lbs.
12/04 ~ 234.2 - SOOOORE is the word of the day.
12/05 ~ 233.1 - Unexpectedly had time yesterday and spent HOURS deep cleaning house, moving furniture, reorganizing closets and decorating for the holidays. So surprisingly not as sore today, but feeling achy enough in my knees and lower back to make this a rest day for sure. Hoping some mild stretching this morning and eve gets the kinks out ~ and the weight loss keeps dropping! Have a great day everyone.
12/06 ~ 232.9 - My sore body bows in gratitude and prays the good fortune continues, lol 🙏

Round 61 - my 4th round
Female - 58 - 5'7"
OSW: 271.8 (Oct 9/18)
UGW: 165 or lower
End R58: 261.2 (-2.2)
End R59: 258.8 (-2.4)
End R60: 256.6 (-2.2)
My goal is to stick to 1500 calories or less per day. I would love to see the 240s by the end of December and I feel confident I can do it.
12/03 - 256.6 - End R60 - bumped up 2# from the day before with indulgent after dinner eating.
12/04 - 255.8
12/05 - 253.8 - This is what I like about daily weighing. I can see that one or two off-plan days don't have to turn in to ruination as long as I get back to plan asap. (I edited my weight after posting because of TMI )
12/06 - 254.4 - Yesterday, I made fudge for my partner to take to his Christmas party at work. Do I have to even tell you who ate some? To taste test of course. The scale will show me a better number tomorrow.

12/04 - Tuesday - 178.8 - Hmmm...well thats interesting. I guess the weekend just took a day to catch up with me. Yesterday was a good eating day, even did a little yoga to destress and it was a circus at work. Not sweating it though...I felt really good this morning. Sticking to habits today, canned soup for lunch and eggroll in a bowl for dinner and tomorrows lunches. When I closed yesterdays diary is said I would be 170.5 in 5 weeks time so that was encouraging seeing that I'm not far "off schedule" to short term goal #3!
12/05 - Wednesday - 178.8 - Ate Wendys without prelogging last night and now I know that a spicy chicken sandwich and fries is 1100 calories! Whoops. Ended the day around maintenance but it was not what I had planned and beat myself up over it for a moment - DH reminded me that it is a TREAT and I'm not eating fast food every day like I used to. I then gave myself some credit for the changes I've made and was able to enjoy the fact that we actually had a nice impromptu dinner date. This is a LIFELONG journey so getting used to a normal amount of eating out is needed - I cant beat myself up over living life! But I can learn from it!
12/06 - Thursday - 177.4 - Stressful evening last night. DH may be seeking other employment, unknown is terrifying but we will be okay. Anyway, work feels like a funeral today. Stuck to habits this morning and will be clinging to them thru this. Endo follow up this afternoon - and physical appointment labs came back looking good! My non-fasting glucose was 87 at 3PM!!! More labs to be done today and hoping to see improvement there also.

This is my eigth round. I am thinking this is the perfect way to move through December, with mini-goals, support and comraderie. I would love to be at 155 by Christmas but will be happy just being solidly in the 150s! Let's make this a month of mindful celebrations taking time to appreciate our loved ones, our health, and our progress on this journey!

12/04 -- 160 -- A bump up...but a small one. I ate well and exercised well and posted a big loss last round, so I am not going to let this bother me. NSV -- Yesterday friends invited me to hike with them. I really enjoy walking in the woods, and the company....but in order to make sure I got my exercise in I snuck out for a fast 4 mile walk through the neighborhood before meeting them at 9. So glad that that was my inclination, rather than just writing it off for the day!
12/05 -- 158 -- Now that was a big drop! Fasted until dinner....but then I ate a big portion of salmon and veggies and made myself a LC cake. My energy levels were great all day too!
12/06 -- 161 -- Wow! That's crazy. I'm all over the place this round. Possibly I hallucinated yesterday's scale reading. I also was lightheaded in the morning, so had several cups of broth and then had Chinese for dinner, so maybe I overdid it on the sodium. I will drink lots of water today. We shall see! NSV--I'm not freaking out in the least over the scale this morning, nor is it ruining my day!

12/4 - 178.8 - Starting to come back down. I never have a Round goal weight, only a 10 lb goal to reach. This time I set one. 175 lbs, to keep me accountable and away from the carbs until I reach it. BECAUSE, there are 2 carb days I am looking forward to, gingerbread and belgian waffles 😃 both courtesy of my son's baking. I've been waiting on this gingerbread for 4 years😂
12/5 - 176.8 - 😏 Okay. I will take it, thank you very much.

Exercise Goals:

Weight training 1 day a week
12/04 - 186.4 Just one day off from hitting my 186 goal. I guess eating 300 calories all day and 1100 after 6:00 p.m. is going to have an impact. Sure I stayed within goal but the timing screwed me for next day weigh in - lesson learned. Going to the gym tonight for weights. After six rounds I've lost 5.9 pounds. Very close to a pound a week. If I keep that pace I'll be at my goal in 1 year. I started in March but didn't really get serious until July or August. Here's to the next six weeks. It would be nice to start the new year in the 170's.
12/05 - Traveling no scale. I drove four hours yesterday in the snow, then went straight to the hotel. I did two miles on the treadmill but did not make it to the gym. The roads are clear, I'm going to the gym tonight.
12/06 - Traveling no scale. Went to the gym and had a great workout. Stayed within calories and didn't have any sweets. I'm driving 4 hours home this afternoon - in snow again. I'm a little anxious about tomorrow morning's weigh-in after two days of nothing. This weighing every day thing is kind of addictive.

Back in the "legal" zone. I'm still slacking off on exercise because of lingering pain, especially in my joints. The elimination diet I was on eliminated 15 pounds but not the pain. Still a win! We tried another short course of prednisone and will re-check inflammation levels mid month and go from there. In the meantime, I need to suck it up and exercise anyway. Maybe I should join a "get off your butt for 10 days" challenge!

Follow-up visit with dietitian today re. the elimination diet, which has made no difference in my pain/inflammation. It will be interesting to hear what other suggestions she might have. In the meantime, I'm trying a new baked salmon patty recipe for lunch. Mmmm!
12/06 - 130.4 - 1370 - 10-day ave 1399
OK, back down where I belong. My dietitian visit left me a little confused and blue. I've seen no difference in pain with the elimination diet I did, and no symptoms of any sensitivities as I've added foods back into my diet. The only major changes I've noticed is that my gut seems to be functioning better and I lost 9 pounds on the diet. Anyway, my integrative doctor is sending me to another rheumatologist, and I know he's going to want me to take prednisone long term, and I'm not happy about that. The dietitian did say that 6 weeks of eliminating foods may not be enough and suggested I think about doing it again for 12 weeks, or even doing the much more restrictive auto-immune paleo diet. But of course if I take pred and follow the diet and the pain subsides, we won't know which treatment did it. I had such high hopes for the elimination diet I was on that I'm really bummed out right now. I don't want to be on pred long term but it's the only medication mentioned in anything I've read about PMR. Anyway, thanks for listening. My salmon patty (new recipe) yesterday was delicious, so there is that! And our kitten is lovely and funny and sweet, and I just sold two paintings, and I've just started a new book (writing, not reading, although I did just start Louise Penny's new book, Kingdom of the Blind). So I guess a bit of pain isn't the end of the world. Thanks for giving me a place to unload.

Now I'm starting another round not at the beginning. But life is so busy right now - yet I know I need this challenge, and MFP in general, to keep me motivated. It's a tough time of year -- sweets and cookies EVERYWHERE! If I tell myself I'm weighing in and posting it, it keeps me on track (and I could go WAY off track!) I am close to my ultimate goal, and I really want to reach it, but mostly, I DON'T WANT TO GO BACK to that old me! It's been three years now -- but the danger is always there. LOL!
61 years old (really happy about that lately....:D)
5'3" (yoga gave me back an inch -- I had "shrunk" to 5'2" -- but I'm back at 5'3" -- used to be 5'3.5" so I've got a little ways to go still! )
CW: 129.3 (this a.m.) -- I went up to 131 just last week (those cookies!!)
GW: 118 - 120 (I have been as low as 122... it felt GREAT!)
Goal for this round -- can I get back down to 127 or 126? I'm going to be a fit and skinny old woman and when I retire, (in like 5 years...geesh!) I will live in yoga clothes and adopt homeless dogs. (We are on our fourth "rescue" - a super anxious little black lab mix puppy that was found abandoned -- my husband and I are having "disagreements" about whether she needs a companion or not....)

12/05: 148.5- Good day yesterday. Didn’t make the 10k steps, but I was busy and it felt good. No morning exercise today. Woke up hungry. Spent time this morning reading instead. Today’s Focus: Exercise.

ROUND 61 (Round 8 for me)
5’5” 66 y/o Texas Lady
SW 178 lb.
GW 140 lb.
Started Keto WOE on September 24th (2018). Still experiencing decreased arthritis hip and shoulder pain since the second week of Keto. Since starting the keto, I’ve lost 21 lb., I wear smaller jeans, and I’m encouraged to press on. Staying within calorie limits is easy enough, but not exceeding my carb limit is difficult. Per my KetoMojo meter, I’m in ketosis most of the time.
Rounds 54 – 60 resulted in a loss of 20.4 lb.! Love it!
Day/Weight/Comment
12/04 156.4 This is what I wanted to see yesterday! Better late than never. Yesterday, my podiatrist offered a $450 custom orthotic insert my insurance won’t cover. I’ll think about it for 2 weeks before I see the doctor again. Meanwhile, I have a wrap on my foot, and Thor (my GSD) and I will start C25K today. We walked 5.2 miles twice last week, so it’s time to pick up the pace.
12/05 156.0 Thor and I incorporated C25K into the beginning of our 5 mile walk yesterday. I was excited, and it felt great; however, last night, my left knee hurt—a lot. I iced it and took an extra anti-inflammatory. It’s not quite as bad this morning, but it hurts, and I’m walking with care. My initial thought is that I should have done more lower body strength training to prepare myself. I may have to backtrack and give myself another month of preparation. My foot didn’t hurt, so I’ll probably trust the podiatrist and buy the orthotic insert. I ran in my new Mizuno running shoes, which is a brand that has wide widths, good arch support, and has served me well in the past. I really want to run again.
12/06 156.2 As slow as I moved yesterday, this weight looks reasonable. I was supposed to complete my second C25K session today, but it’s not to be. I’ll have to be patient—knee is still hurting. I practiced walking slowly yesterday and making my knee bend. I can’t walk stiff-legged and expect it to loosen up. My cousin gave me an ointment, and I used heat a few times yesterday. I see the orthopedist tomorrow. For today, I’m going to play cards with the girls and try not to think about the knee. I’ve learned, “All things work together for good to them who love the Lord, to those who are called according to his purpose.” So, I will stop whining and complaining. 😊 Have a blessed day, Everyone!

NOVEMBER STARTING WEIGHT: 177.6
NOVEMBER GOAL: 172.6
NOVEMBER ACTUAL:
I’LL BE WEIGHING ON THE 1ST AND THE 30TH IN ORDER TO SEE MY TOTAL WEIGHT LOSS FOR OCTOBER. IN-BETWEEN I WILL WEIGH ON THURSDAYS TO SEAMLESSLY FLOW FROM THE LAST CHALLENGE TO THIS ONE. .
Weight Loss so far for this challenge: Zero Lost – 0.5 lbs GAINED. YIKES……
Current Stats/Comments:
11/01: 177.6 Starting Weight
11/08: 179.6 Too much travel this week. Too many restaurants & not enough movement. Ugg….
11/15: 177.2 Lots of travel again this week. Weight actually went higher than this but I’m working it back down. It’s nice to type it in red ink.
11/22: 176.0 This week has been a roller-coaster but I managed to reign it in. Two Thanksgiving dinner’s planned for this week. The scales next week will tell the final tale.
11/29: 176.4 A tiny blip up but not bad after the two holiday feasts. It actually went much higher but I’ve gotten it back down this past week. Tonight is the usual Thursday pot luck so I fear a bit of extra water weight tomorrow due to the carbs. I hope to at least end at my 11/1/2018 starting weight. While I enjoy and indulge on Thursdays during this very fun social event each week, I do try to make decent choices. I am sure that I will not reach my November or my December goals. This time of year is just too tough for me, especially since I've become older. However, these challenges will help me keep it reigned in. It will remind me to move in the ways that I can. It will help to minimize the potential damage. And it will help me to build my strength toward my plan and my "new lifestyle".
11/30: 178.1 Never weigh after a potluck dinner. Ugg.
FINAL CHALLENGE THOUGHTS: A horrible month for me filled with feasts and potlucks. On to December.

3. No Bingeing (new attitude on food outside of my home and socially)

Day/Weight/Comment:
12/04 - 176.8 Whoosh. Very low calorie and carb day yesterday to help jumpstart me & get me back on track. Very low on fluids and water because I was just so busy still prepping for the new whole house carpet install Thursday, so I may be a bit dehydrated and that is likely reflected in the large weight drop. Today I will carry a cup & straw with me around the house to make sure I get more water in. December will be a little tough with all the festivities, but I plan on making mini goals and taking baby steps to simplify things and yet stay the course. I’m going to stay smart while doing December in Style!
12/05 - 176.8 No change. Increased my water a bit, but not as much as I had planned. Still busy preparing for whole house carpet. Put signs on many boxes and loaded up the pickup truck with them to get things off the floor and stored out of the house. I should see another drop soon with all this work! However, my body may be holding onto fluid I need. I was so dehydrated yesterday that I had to take two AZO pills to prevent a bladder issue I felt coming on. I’m doing great this morning, but I will try adding more water again today and I hope I do even better with hydrating.
12/06 - 178.4 Stress eating last night for sure. High Sodium, retaining fluids but I think I seriously needed them due to some dehydration of late. Carpet going in today. Last minute moving of items this morning including 3 bedrooms of mattresses on the floors. I can’t wait for this day to be over. Ugg.

I am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after.
I need to step up my game if I want to meet any of my goals.

Want to get back to 127-128
Crept back to JGM10D quietly in Round 60, after intentionally sitting out a number of rounds, because I need the daily accountability that worked before.
12/4 - 131.2 - over maintenance calories yesterday. Really tired plus sugary treats in the evening. Dropping goal calories to the .5 loss goal for this round, and we shall see!
12/5 - 130.4 - just at my new calorie limit that should result in .5 a week loss. 7500 steps and I do eat back as much of the fitbit calorie adjustment as I want to, that's worked for me before.
12/6 - 130.0 - just at my new gentle-loss calorie limit. 8500 steps. Poor sleep last night, can make for a weak-willed day, so I am on guard.

@Birder165, Aww Thanks Karen! I've been good, lol. And you! WTG! I know how difficult it is to take a taste of something you enjoy eating and leave it at that.
@SheilaBoneham, Maybe the paleo diet could help you. Its all whole foods and does not seem restrictive to me. I've considered it many times over the years. {{{hugs}}} to you concerning the prednisone. Its such a dilemma having no choice but to accept being on medication in order to be pain free. I don't like taking medicine myself.
Lol, Thank you! I've never been called a veggie role model before. I do love vegetables😁 I try to eat as much variety as I can on keto. I really have to plan for and limit some of them. For those veggies, I just take the hit of fluid retention and deal with it. When I get close to my ultimate goal weight, I would LIKE to try a vegan keto diet, but the main protein source is tofu. I won't eat soy and I'm allergic to wheat, so no to vital wheat gluten also. Looks like I WON'T be trying a vegan keto diet, Lol.

12/04: 176.6 Had a super disappointing weigh in today. I’m moping a little bit. Don’t hold it against me
12/05: 176.8 Don't you love when weigh ins make no sense I'm hoping I'm just retaining water, because the numbers definitely don't add up
12/06: 175.2 Muuuuch closer to where I should be. Still hoping for a little extra drop this week. We'll see!
