Hi @quiltingjaine ~ that's great advice for a different kind of night .... These parties are meant for overindulging, lol !!! I prelogged what I wanted to enjoy, ate more than anticipated, and still managed to stay within the green so yayyyyy for that but boooooo to the extra glass of champagne and my headache this morning8

Round 61 - (my 2nd round)
51, Standing: 5'9" in NYC
OSW: 274 ~ CSW: 234.2 ~ GW: 230
12/03 ~ 235.2 - End R60 not too bad overall. Down 1.6 lbs.
12/04 ~ 234.2 - SOOOORE is the word of the day.
12/05 ~ 233.1 - Unexpectedly had time yesterday and spent HOURS deep cleaning house, moving furniture, reorganizing closets and decorating for the holidays. So surprisingly not as sore today, but feeling achy enough in my knees and lower back to make this a rest day for sure. Hoping some mild stretching this morning and eve gets the kinks out ~ and the weight loss keeps dropping! Have a great day everyone.
12/06 ~ 232.9 - My sore body bows in gratitude and prays the good fortune continues, lol 🙏
12/07 ~ 232.8 - thought it would be higher, but a drop is a drop! Happy Friday all!
12/08 ~ 233.4 - Ate lightly yesterday but ended up finishing the night with a wine spritzer, crab cake and a piece of chocolate! Had extra calories, so still ended under in every category except fat of course, lol. 5 hours sleep has me feeling hungrier than usual this morning but no complaints.
12/09 ~ 233.6 - The past few days I've been increasing my calorie deficit, but I could tell this morning that's not a good strategy for me. It's obvious I'm not eating enough. I can feel my body hoarding like a cactus in the heat! Going to test my strategy and overeat a tiny bit today to see if that turns the wheel back in the right direction.
12/10 ~ 232.2 - originally ended the night early with a deficit (wasn't hungry and didn't want to force myself just to test a theory). But around 9pm I was STARVING and wolfed down about 2oz of left over salmon in the fridge. What a difference that bit of protein made!! I slept deeper than I have the past few nights and woke with more energy this morning. In the end, I did "overeat a tiny bit" and later than I normally like to. IDK if any of it factored in the drop or if I'm over analyzing, but I am happppppy like a room without a roof Have a great week everyone!! Hope all your goals are met.
12/11 ~ 232.0 - Party tonight, so liquid breakfast and a light lunch today in preparation.
12/12 ~ ??????? - Though I stayed within the green, it was a really late night and I'm slightly hungover. It also feels like food is still in my system and I've no desire to see it reflected on the scale this morning, lol. Hoping tomorrow ends well.
12/13 ~10 -
I know this is random but I just received a fit bit and needless to say I would like some friends lol..if there is anyone here interested please reach out to me. I feel comfortable with everyone in this group. I went to check other groups for users but I feel awkward sending requests to people I am not as familiar with4

Round 56 - 180
Round 57 - 178
Round 58 - 177
Round 59 - 175
Round 60 - 178
My goals this round- get to 172. Drink lots of water.
12/3 - 178 - I swooshed up but need to get back into it. I leave for a day or two, hoping to be a wise eater.
12/4 - No scale
12/5 - 177
12/6 - 177
12/7 - 177 - I figured out that when I rely on dairy for my protein, I still crave carbs. I normally have hard boiled eggs, cooked meat in the freezer and lunch meat I can put in salads....tuna too. However, the cottage cheese I have been working on, is not helping at all. The chips are almost all gone.😬
12/8 - 176
12/9 - Refused to weigh after salty food.
12/10 - 176 - I have a few gatherings to go to this week. Usually that is cause to go off the rails. I am going to try my best.
12/11 -No Scale
12/12 - 175 - I am skipping a noon Christmas party because I don’t feel like driving an hour to stand around and eat. I am quilting with my friend instead. I haven’t felt like exercising because I spend so much time packing our house up and I get tired just doing that.
12/13
THIS ROUND IS ALMOST OVER!!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK !!!!! 🌸

12/04 - Tuesday - 178.8 - Hmmm...well thats interesting. I guess the weekend just took a day to catch up with me. Yesterday was a good eating day, even did a little yoga to destress and it was a circus at work. Not sweating it though...I felt really good this morning. Sticking to habits today, canned soup for lunch and eggroll in a bowl for dinner and tomorrows lunches. When I closed yesterdays diary is said I would be 170.5 in 5 weeks time so that was encouraging seeing that I'm not far "off schedule" to short term goal #3!
12/05 - Wednesday - 178.8 - Ate Wendys without prelogging last night and now I know that a spicy chicken sandwich and fries is 1100 calories! Whoops. Ended the day around maintenance but it was not what I had planned and beat myself up over it for a moment - DH reminded me that it is a TREAT and I'm not eating fast food every day like I used to. I then gave myself some credit for the changes I've made and was able to enjoy the fact that we actually had a nice impromptu dinner date. This is a LIFELONG journey so getting used to a normal amount of eating out is needed - I cant beat myself up over living life! But I can learn from it!
12/06 - Thursday - 177.4 - Stressful evening last night. DH may be seeking other employment, unknown is terrifying but we will be okay. Anyway, work feels like a funeral today. Stuck to habits this morning and will be clinging to them thru this. Endo follow up this afternoon - and physical appointment labs came back looking good! My non-fasting glucose was 87 at 3PM!!! More labs to be done today and hoping to see improvement there also.
12/07 - Friday - 177.0 - Feeling more optimistic about our future today - the only thing I can plan for is that the plan will change - sticking by that motto through this next chapter. Endocrinologist appointment was amazing. Doc said I can come off my metformin, and other meds - continue with lifestlye changes and ready to start trying to conceive!!! PCOS symptoms have subsided, which is the whole reason I got serious about this journey. Smashing goals and pushing on to the next goal!
12/08 - Saturday - 176.0 - low cal day yesterday, mostly due to nerves still, wasnt terribly hungry. Our neighbor/tenant brought over homemade soup and grilled cheese for dinner, so that saved me from the super salty chili baked potato I had planned and was a nice little get together. Brought the dog for a bath at the new pet store and washed bedding so everyones feeling less stuffy and squeky clean! Also noticed my hair feels really healthy! Making meal plans today, need to do full haul grocery shop and farm shop.
12/09 - Sunday - 175.6 - Yesssss!!! Ate what I wanted yesterday but kept it in the green. This May also be a little bit stress related but Im usually a stress overeater so I'll take it as a win.
12/10 - Monday - 175.2 - Stress related still, appetite is just not there so I'm eating way smaller portions when I do eat. Went to the grocery store and farm this weekend so fridge is full to continue cooking most meals at home. Dinner with parents last night was really nice - it was foreign to me not to fill up on cheese and crackers before dinner, but I did stress eat an extra piece of pie late last night. Busy week so need to plan accordingly.
12/11 - Tuesday - 174.8 - So last night I decided to stop moping. DH is actually dear fiance, we've been engaged two years but prioritized buying a house over a wedding. And I think subconsciously I pushed it off because I didnt like the skin I was in. Yesterday I saw a wedding event at a boutique bridal shop that is carrying a line I'm really interested in. So I made an appointment! We don't have a date set, we still might end up at the town hall - but I finally felt confident enough to stand in front of a huge mirror and try on dresses! And to finally feel worth it is just as much a success as losing any amount of weight!
12/12 - Wednesday - 174.0 - Stress continues to drive this number downwards more than anything I think...but to give myself credit I am cooking all meals and eating 100% on plan. Busy day today, packed breakfast, lunch and dinner because I've got an ultrasound to monitor my thyroid this evening. I bought two individual frozen pizzas so I have something to look forward to on Friday without ordering out - and I'm already looking forward to it haha. 175 has always been some weird mental road block that I tend to start self sabotaging on so I'm excited to push thru it!
12/1312 -
Soooo many special events this week! Still more to come next week!
- Let's face it! We are all human.
- Christmas is a time for celebration. We can CHOOSE whether or not to indulge.
- As long as we do so in moderation, there shouldn't be too much damage.
- Indulgence has it's consequences, but they are only temporary.
- Own them, and get back on track.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieve permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

I am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after.
I need to step up my game if I want to meet any of my goals.

STARTING AT THE END!
12/10 150.4 Ok I am back, getting over a nasty cold and back on track to stay put or lose a little over the next couple of weeks. I went off the rails since Thanksgiving, but damage not too bad, just these 5 lbs up which I know with conscious eating and accountability I can drop. I will need to catch up with everyone's progress reports this evening. Missed you all!
12/11 148.4 Whew so great to see that I can drop it again! The body never ceases to amaze. Just got to remember to not slip and slide for too long!
12/12 148.4 Good day on plan, 1400 calories. Enjoying salads again. Still getting over the cold, so annoying. Focusing on drinking more water today to see if I can flush out the last lingering symptoms of this cold/flu.

Big caloric deficit 4 of last 5 days! Very pleased. I am successfully curbing my calories in little bits here & there, but they add up! Sleeping more.
I got my motivation back❣
1) I realized I exercise a ton. Three times what is “needed to be healthy.”
2) I can feel I’m adding muscle, so scale will stay steady but then drop. AND my goal is Health. Muscles = Health❣
3) I looked over all my monthly average data & saw I need to trim back calories eaten some. Did it!

12/6 154.4 A NEW LOW!! Trend wt: 154.8 Too exciting BMI: Now 23.1 🤩 successfully dropped my calorie intake by >300 per day, compared to November. Ate out breakfast & lunch, though...
12/7 154.8 salty restaurant dinner with my friend
12/8 157 😵 ate lunch out today with DH.
Note for future: Eating out ONCE leads to more days of the same — for me.
12/9 157.4 From Bad to Worse ☹️ I’m completely flummoxed. I never gain this much in 1-2 days. I’ve been exercising, eating fewer calories, drinking water, macros are my normal... sodium is low (although I have eaten out so maybe it’s higher??) a Complete Shock. The only explanation I can fathom is when I eat out, I estimate. At home, I weigh all foods. So accuracy is lower when I eat our. But I could not have been off 3,500 calories x 2.6 lbs over 2 days!
Ate my regular breakfast this morning. I’m sure “this, too, shall pass.”
Hope to be 155 again by end of this Round❗ I’m not worried, just really surprised. Maybe this is what I needed to decide in my heart if I’m going to maintain or lose now. #SilverLining
12/10 157 Continuing to do all the right things. Re-took measurements & they are the same. Lower body is more toned, though. Reminded myself that I’ve lost almost 35 lbs in the last year — even with this hiccup. Good practice for maintenance & a good reminder that I do much better if I don’t eat out.
12/11 155.4 Terrific. Didn’t eat out, walked a ton, rested, relaxed, ate with 400 calorie deficit.
12/12 155 yay. Didn’t eat out, walked 5 miles (hilly), restated, related, ate with deficit 360 calories.
Average for November 156.59 lbs
Average for December (so far) 155.53
As long as my monthly averages go down by at least one pound, I’m good.

12/04: 176.6 Had a super disappointing weigh in today. I’m moping a little bit. Don’t hold it against me
12/05: 176.8 Don't you love when weigh ins make no sense I'm hoping I'm just retaining water, because the numbers definitely don't add up
12/06: 175.2 Muuuuch closer to where I should be. Still hoping for a little extra drop this week. We'll see!
12/07: 176.0 I'm gonna explode
12/08: 176.2 I think I broke science. The laws of thermodynamics got nothin' on me
12/09: 173.2 lolwut. Too bad I just ate McDonald's and this will be gone tomorrow
12/10: 174.0 I forgot to weigh myself before I ate, so it was probably pretty closer to yesterday! Officially crossed 20lbs off my milestone chart!
12/11: 172.8 Heck yeah!
12/12: 171.8 Hoping to continue downwards! My end of year goal is looking reasonable now!

End weight round 60: 189.4 (-2lb)
12/4 188.6
12/5 187.4 This may not stick. My calories were low yesterday and sometimes that makes the next day hard not to eat everything in sight. Will do my best and log everything! Did one hour of yoga yesterday too.
12/6 187.2 I’ll take it, had pizza for dinner and even though I stayed in my calorie range I didn’t know what to expect on the scale this morning
12/7 189.2 out to dinner last night, hope this is just water retention from sodium. 1 hour of yoga today
12/8 191.4 ?!? I felt pretty good about yesterday but obviously not as well as I thought. This is disappointing because I have been bouncing around 188-192 for a month and felt good about where I was two days ago.
12/9 191.2 not a lot of change but I didn’t expect one at all. I was sort of a bottomless pit last night. Water and walk today to shed the same 3 lbs. I have lost 10 times already in the last month.
12/10 189.2 coming back down. At this point I just hope to be back at my start wit for this challenge by the end

ROUND 61 (Round 8 for me)
5’5” 66 y/o Texas Lady
SW 178 lb.
GW 140 lb.
Started Keto WOE on September 24th (2018). Still experiencing decreased arthritis hip and shoulder pain since the second week of Keto. Since starting the keto, I’ve lost 21 lb., I wear smaller jeans, and I’m encouraged to press on. Staying within calorie limits is easy enough, but not exceeding my carb limit is difficult. Per my KetoMojo meter, I’m in ketosis most of the time.
Rounds 54 – 60 resulted in a loss of 20.4 lb.! Love it!
Day/Weight/Comment
12/04 156.4 This is what I wanted to see yesterday! Better late than never. Yesterday, my podiatrist offered a $450 custom orthotic insert my insurance won’t cover. I’ll think about it for 2 weeks before I see the doctor again. Meanwhile, I have a wrap on my foot, and Thor (my GSD) and I will start C25K today. We walked 5.2 miles twice last week, so it’s time to pick up the pace.
12/05 156.0 Thor and I incorporated C25K into the beginning of our 5 mile walk yesterday. I was excited, and it felt great; however, last night, my left knee hurt—a lot. I iced it and took an extra anti-inflammatory. It’s not quite as bad this morning, but it hurts, and I’m walking with care. My initial thought is that I should have done more lower body strength training to prepare myself. I may have to backtrack and give myself another month of preparation. My foot didn’t hurt, so I’ll probably trust the podiatrist and buy the orthotic insert. I ran in my new Mizuno running shoes, which is a brand that has wide widths, good arch support, and has served me well in the past. I really want to run again.
12/06 156.2 As slow as I moved yesterday, this weight looks reasonable. I was supposed to complete my second C25K session today, but it’s not to be. I’ll have to be patient—knee is still hurting. I practiced walking slowly yesterday and making my knee bend. I can’t walk stiff-legged and expect it to loosen up. My cousin gave me an ointment, and I used heat a few times yesterday. I see the orthopedist tomorrow. For today, I’m going to play cards with the girls and try not to think about the knee. I’ve learned, “All things work together for good to them who love the Lord, to those who are called according to his purpose.” I just have to stop whining and complaining. 😊 Have a blessed day, Everyone!
12/07 155.2 No whining or complaining! I enjoyed playing cards with the girls and ate according to plan, but I sure miss walking normally. Thor doesn’t understand why we’re not getting out for our walks. I hope to get tips/information from the orthopedist that will soon have me walking (running?) again without pain.
12/08 154.4 I like the looks of that number. Doc said I have a torn meniscus and gave me a steroid shot. He suggested I stick with walking, but I’m not ready to give up on running. I will strengthen my knees before trying to run again. I hope the meniscus will heal, but, if not, I’ll have it repaired. This morning, my knee still bends more easily, but it’s more swollen than yesterday. I’ll try some ice. This, too, shall pass!
12/09 154.4 After posting yesterday, I looked up “swelling after steroid injection.” Apparently, it’s common and I need to ice and stay off my feet, as much as possible, for a couple of days. Sounded like a good excuse to take it easy, so, except for preparing meals, I rested! This morning, there’s less swelling, but the knee is still sore. I guess, after church, I’ll have to take it easy again. Today, I will pray for a blessed day of rest, in God’s loving care, for all of us.
12/10 154.0 Every day, I have small food temptations, but, so far, I’m pretty good at telling myself “No.” Sometimes, I yell "NO" at myself. Today, I’m grateful to be retired and not have to get ready and drive to work every morning, at least not until tax season starts in January. Even then, I won’t go to work every day. Of course, there’s always plenty of work to be done at home and on our small farm. Today, my knee is easier to bend than it was yesterday, but it's still sore. Tomorrow is the monthly community women's gathering. My grandmother, great grandmother, and two great-great aunts were charter members, so, last year, I decided I was old enough and had the time to join. My goal on Wednesday is to take Thor for a walk--something shorter than 5 miles.
12/11 153.2 That smaller number was unexpected, and mildly disturbing. Anyway, I forgot to mention my NSV. Last week, I tried on my wedding band, and it fits again! Hooray! I missed wearing it. Also, my husband said, “You’re disappearing—in a good way.” Before we married, I knew he wasn’t attracted to “fluffy” women. Despite his preference, he continued to love me and be supportive when I gained weight. I freely admit, I’m losing weight to please him and to please myself. Carrying around an extra 40 lb. every day is too much work! Losing weight and getting fit is a win-win goal. My knee is still improving. Thor will probably get a walk with me tomorrow. Now, I have to go into town for a print cartridge so I can finish printing lyrics for the women's club meeting today; hence, I had to get up earlier than usual.
12/12 152.4 Okay, is it the keto WOE or a dread disease causing my accelerated loss? That’s 1.6 lb. in the last 2 days. I’ve had my cancer screenings in the last few months, so I will choose to be thankful. After all, I am trying to lose weight. Some of it could be back tomorrow. I can walk normally this morning, with barely a twinge of pain in my knee. It’s a mild day, so Thor and I will, once again, get out for a walk, a shorter one. I can’t believe there’s only one day left of this challenge. The days pass so quickly!

Starting Weight 175-178
Current Weight 155.0 end of round 60 (ended on a Monday, always my highest day of the week)
Goal Weight 140
Hopefully I can be really good in this round and be in the low 150's consistently. My DH will be gone this whole week on a business trip so it's just the kids and I. I haven't figured out if that is going to be good for me or really bad for me yet. I ended the last round kind of high so hoping to start this one lower right away. Ending on a Monday is probably never going to work in my favor. The weekends are my enemy!
12/04 - 153.4 This is what I was wanting to end the last round with, but that Taco Bell from Saturday night killed me for 2 days. Oh well, ate below calories again yesterday because I knew I was going to lunch today. My sister has been deployed for the last year and is coming home. We are all meeting her at the airport and taking her to lunch. Going to try and eat sensible, but no matter what I do I always gain when I eat out. At least I saw this today and I'm just going to enjoy myself. Hopefully won't hurt me to bad tomorrow. If I can finish this round at 152 or 151 I will be happy.
12/05 - 153.2 Loss of .2, I will take it. Went to lunch yesterday and still had a little loss. Little mile stones are what I need now. Chose healthy foods and didn't have an alcoholic drink. I also had a light dinner once I got home and it all worked out. Have my day planned again today, so maybe I will see 152.xx tomorrow.
12/06 - 152.4 Back down to last Saturdays weight. I have been all over the place this time around. I think my husband being gone this week has been a little more stressful than I thought it would be. Did well on calories yesterday and so far today. Hopefully by tomorrow or Saturday I will see a lower number.
12/07 - 152.3 Down an ounce I guess I can't complain. My husband will be home tomorrow, and am looking forward to having him back. I didn't realize how much he really does help, even if it just keeping the kids tamed so I can do dinner or homework, lol. He hasn't traveled in a long time for work, so him being gone a week has been harder than I thought. He used to do it all of the time and it never bothered me. Even my sleep has been off not having him there. The older kids have helped out though and really stepped up, so that's been good. I think this would have been lower, but I decided to have 3 chocolate mini candy bars last night at 9 pm. So going to do better today and see what my final weigh in tomorrow is for this week. Now to face the weekend! Uuggghh
12/08 - 151.1 Did't post but weighed
12/09 - 152.6 Busy weekend weighed but didn't post
12/10 - 153.9 There is my usual Monday bump from the weekend. Did really well Saturday. Not so great yesterday. Hopefully I fall tomorrow. We will see. Still should end with a loss this time.
12/11 - 152.1 Coming back down after the weekend. Did well yesterday, normal lunch, made tacos and beans for dinner. I can tell my portion sizes are getting smaller and fill me up without even thinking about it anymore. This round should end in the low 150's. I'm sure I will bounce around 151 and 150 for a week or so. It seems my body knows I am going to drop to a new decade and it holds onto it for dear life. So I don't expect to see 140 something until the end of the next round. It's ok, I'm used to it anymore, lol. Slow progress is still progress
12/12 151.1 Back down to Saturdays weight. Maybe I will finish tomorrow with 150 something. Was absolutely starving about midnight last night. So I am going to try and up my calories today by a couple hundred. I have been trying to eat at a deficit the last couple of weeks to hit 148 by Christmas, but I think it is getting to me. At least we are ending this round on a weekday so I will show a loss this time. Can’t believe 2018 is almost over. I was hoping to hit my 30 pound loss by the end of this year. I may have to settle for 27 or 28. Which is still good.

About me: 62, 5'7", hit maintenance in March 2018 and, typical yoyo, currently bouncing back up over original goal weight of 130.
Want to get back to 127-128
Crept back to JGM10D quietly in Round 60, after intentionally sitting out a number of rounds, because I need the daily accountability that worked before.
12/4 - 131.2 - over maintenance calories yesterday. Really tired plus sugary treats in the evening. Dropping goal calories to the .5 loss goal for this round, and we shall see!
12/5 - 130.4 - just at my new calorie limit that should result in .5 a week loss. 7500 steps and I do eat back as much of the fitbit calorie adjustment as I want to, that's worked for me before.
12/6 - 130.0 - just at my new gentle-loss calorie limit. 8500 steps. Poor sleep last night, can make for a weak-willed day, so I am on guard.
12/7 - 130.4 - yep I was over on calories yesterday. 7800 steps. However, did get almost 9 hours of sleep last night, much needed. Today I have a wellness check Dr appointment, something I rarely do!
12/8 -130.8 - over on calories and under on steps yesterday, only 5000. The after work snacking got me. Still, doing better so far today.
12/9 - 130.8- just under my .5 loss plan calories for yesterday, 7000 steps. Took a lovely 2 mile walk with our little rescue dog this morning - we've had her for only about 6 weeks - she is doing so much better with the "snoot loop" type collar, no longer getting my arm pulled off when she sees a squirrel or another dog or a bicyclist or a runner or ...
12/10 - 131.0 - under maintenance but a bit over my modest-loss goal yesterday. 13500 steps though, included a 1.5 mile run with dogger. More than happy with the way my average is shaping up this challenge.
12/11 - 131.2 - WAAY over maintenance yesterday and only 6000 steps.
12/12 - 131.0 - Way over maintenance again and only 6000 steps. Finally slept better, I think it was exhaustion that made me feel like I was getting the flu!

Round 61 SW: 220
12/4—216.2—That's 3.8 pounds since yesterday. The amount of water I was retaining with TOM was pretty impressive! Still not feeling great, but improving.
12/5—216.8—A bump up but this was an early weigh in. Not a real gain. I'm in week 3 of my pushups challenge and I can really see my improvement. I'm getting stronger every day!
12/6—217.8—Huh.
12/7—217—I'm all over the place! That's so TOM!
12/8—214.2—I like that better. This is a new low. I'm closing in on 40 pounds lost.
12/9—215—Always have to bounce around for a while after I hit a new low.
12/10—216.4—I made many bad choices yesterday. Not an astonishing amount over calories, but enough that when coupled with a salt fandango is going to show up for a day or two. I also have a cold, which is making me really grumpy. Bah.
12/11—216.4—The cold may be getting a bit better. I exercised a lot yesterday and ate a lot, too.
12/12—216.8—Exercised a ton, ate much less, but had a dish that I think was 50% salt. (It was delicious!)12 -
@puttyputty, LOL, at the 50% salt6

22nd Round for me: Female 65, height – 5’
Here we are again. Looked over all my rounds and realized that I’ve only lost around 3 lb. total. 😖 I’d lost about 4 lb. on MFP before joining this challenge. I’m going to apply to go on a short course in April. That is 10-12 weeks away. So my more immediate goal is to lose 1 lb/round. The course is something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time – I don’t have to lose weight for it but it would be sweet if I did.
Ultimate Goal Weight – 128; Hoping to be under 140 by end of June.
Day/Weight/Comment
12/04 – 160.8
12/05 – 161.2 – Finished my part-time work on Tues. and instead of jumping into all the other stuff I now have time for, I have spent two days mostly wasting time. I did get to the gym this morning though and think I’ve got my head together for tomorrow so I don’t fritter it away as well.
12/06 – 161.2 – Despite going to the gym, calories were a couple of deserts over yesterday and about the same the previous two days so will take this weight and be thankful.
12/07 – 162.2 – Well now see the bump up and yesterday was not good either. Too much chocolate. Signed up for Shrink Yourself when it was on Black Friday sale (annoyed that it went even cheaper after B. Friday). Starting to use their “pause a moment and think” when I feel like snacking. The think part is admitting that this is emotional eating, why am I really doing this, what can I do to address the problem/stress that would work better than eating. If I can just do that I’m OK. So my goal for today to get out of the mini-binge hole is to “pause & think.”
12/08 – 162 – Good day yesterday, concert tonight; leave home at 4:30 and back around 9:30ish so will be a challenge for meals. Guess I should take a good snack and have something healthy when I get home. After all the organizing stuff we will likely be sitting around for 45 min. but not enough time to make it worth going home.
12/09 - 162
12/10 – 161.6 Managed to get through tea & treats times on Sat and Sun with moderation. The food on Sunday was amazing – provided by a lady who is opening a new bakery. Good thing I got there late, really just to pick up my husband, so only had a cookie, a pastry and fruit. Not a great day overall though as I had no proper supper just a lot of snacks which always adds up to more calories in the end.
12/11
12/12 – 160.8- Hit with the cold/flu Monday night so just dragged around yesterday and slept alot. Today feel like I can do something if I take it slow although still have sore throat/coughing. Supposed to have another concert tonight but I think they will be better without me – can barely talk. It was good for the weight though I managed to keep food down but just ate very small portions yesterday.

This is my second round, very excited! My main goal for this round is to just not put weight on. December is a huge month of celebrations in Australia with Summer and Christmas but I'm going to try and stay focused during the many festivities coming up over the next 10 days!!
Update: have been MIA the last few days not logging my entries due to a mix of travel, not being able to weigh in and knowing I wouldn't like the results if I could. My whole thing is about accountability, this isn't good enough, I need to do better!
Day/Weight/Comment
12/04 - 95.7kg - was a little relaxed today and it shows unfortunately
12/05 - DNW
12/06 - 97.1kg - to be expected has been a very festive week, hopefully can get back on track over the next few days
12/07 - DNW
12/08 - 95.6kg - very proud of my food and exercise efforts today, really took it to the next level!! Suspect I may be a little dehydrated though

@dowhatrightis, I'm glad you took the opportunity to vent about this in this safe space. My father was not abusive, but he was an alcoholic, and it's astonishing to recognize how much his behaviors shaped my personality and my anxieties. So I'm deeply sorry and feel such empathy for the trauma you suffered and I hope you have made it to a better mental place now.

Round 61: (My 15th)
12/04 146
12/05 146
12/06 146 Holding steady. Can not believe how close we are to the end of the year. Thinking about the holidays makes me nervous. Even though my goal has been to get to 140 by the end of the year, I actually will be ok if I maintain my weight through the holiday and not gain! Sorry everyone, I have slacked off posting. I will make sure I post every day this round.
12/07 146 Surprise lol. It's all good though, better than a gain .
12/08 145.5 I'm happy for a little loss but surprised because the baby kept me up the past 2 nights so I'm running on only a couple hrs of sleep.
12/09 145.5 Slept a little better last night. Ate fast food yesterday evening because someone brought it to us for dinner, but I made sure I drank plenty of water.
12/10 145 So this means my BMI is normal (although I know BMI's can be misleading). 30 lbs loss since July 18th, this year. I'll be honest, I got to a point where I was really obsessive over the scale and what it said every day, and that was all I could focus on. I was weighing myself several times a day and I didn't realize it but I was becoming more self conscious, obsessive and depressed. I thought that if I didn't keep my mind focused on losing weight and weighing myself several times a day, then I wouldn't lose. I was wrong. Thank God I am now out of the obsessive mindset, and have been for several weeks. Anyone who is struggling with the mental end of this, know you are not alone but please please do some soul searching and work on changing it.. no telling where I would be mentally if I didn't.
12/11 145 Way late posting, I meant to this morning and got sidetracked.
12/12 145 Not sure I'll make my goal this round- Probably due to lack of exercise, sleep, and cereal almost every night. Still had a loss so I'm happy for that
