On a crazy note, because I know I was looking crazy. I was wearing 3 different sizes of clothing yesterday. 16/18 pants, way baggy, but oh so warm velour. I can't afford to replace everything right now, just hanging around home anyway. A size 12/14 tank top. I use my tank tops as undershirts. Since losing so much weight, I feel cold and need the extra layer. An 8/10 long sleeve shirt. Surprisingly the bigger shirt underneath doesn't look bulky. I bought a pair of size 12 jeans. They're going to be too big in a month I'm afraid. They look a tiny bit saggy in the butt without a belt.
Yessss lets get out!!!! My goal is to be OUT of the 170s by 1/7/19!!! I'm in the same boat with clothes...I bought one pair of size 10 (absolute vanity sizing!) And thats about the only pair of clothing That fits proper right now! But I'm saving up for a full wardrobe overhaul when I'm closer to 150!7 -
@deepwoodslady, LOL at the jalopy analogy. Yesterday, I said I felt like I've been in a whirlpool since September, not really parked. Parked is a plateau, one weight that seems to hang on FOR • EV • ER. I know how to deal with plateaus, but these fluid fluctuations are insane.6

Yesterday a 1/2 hour before my Body Works class was scheduled, it got canceled AGAIN. So aggravating when you plan to go and they can’t get a reliable instructor, BTW, I would loveeee to be at least in the low 140’s by the end of the year. Focus focus focus.

12/14 - 11st 12lb - no loss, but no gain - so I'm ok. Had a choice of a lot of food yesterday evening but just had
one small cake and biscuit, instead of several sweet offerings, including mince pies. Kept within calories.
12/15 - 11st 12.2lb - disappointed because, as always, I weighed everything yesterday and I kept within my calorie allowance and due to walking I also had a good calorie deficit so could easily have had more.

12/15 - No weigh in...been up since 2:30 with my son (he just didn't feel like sleeping). Had a bad eating day yesterday, a lot of LNS and a couple of adult beverages. My son has breakfast with Santa and 2 birthday parties this weekend so probably not going to be eating the best. I WILL get myself back on track by Monday, still want to be in the 230's bu the end of the year.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieve permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.Stick with the process. It DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

12/14 - 253.4 - Nothing to worry about. 3168 cals yesterday. I was super hungry all day and gave in to it. For the 3 days before yesterday, my calories averaged 1506/day and that seems to be my "1200". I can't do too many days in a row at that level. I can lose a lot of weight quickly but I get too hungry & tired. That's without even exercising. I should probably aim for at least 1600 - 1700 per day and perhaps that would help me avoid the high calorie days. ***ETA: I just changed my daily goal to 1700. Hopefully that'll help me find a balance.

OK, the self-delusion is over and I'm not going to kid myself into eating more cookies & candies. I've had more the past week than I've had in the past 4 years! OTOH, I am back to regular walking (though not up to my goal time yet - amazing how quickly we get out of shape) and I started walk/run intervals yesterday. So I'm adding exercise minutes to my accountability for this session. I do think some of this extra weight is water, but I don't like the trend, so I've had a stern talk with myself! I'm off to get blood drawn to recheck inflammation levels - I hope they're down more, but in any case I feel quite a bit better other than pain in my shoulders, esp. in the morning.

Time lag from Wed & Thurs excesses, but I ate better yesterday and walked an hour. I also am thrilled that my lab tests show my inflammation is way down from what it was, though still slightly elevated, and I am more determined than ever not to take prednisone long term. So while I will continue to enjoy the season for the next 10 or so days, I'm veering back toward the anti-inflammation/elimination approach to eating that I was on for much of the summer and fall to try to get back in the normal zone. I'm also going to start running intervals again 3 days a week (I haven't for almost a year so I'm really out of shape!) and, if I can haul myself out of bed at 5 am, to swim laps several days a week. I am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after.
I need to step up my game if I want to meet any of my goals.

12/15: 172.6. Win! Went out to eat last night. I chose the southwest salad. Even though I ordered half size, the salad was HUGE (at least a half head of lettuce). Soooo delicious. Lots of add ons but not a lot of anything. Dressing on the side. I've got a plan for today so I'm feeling good about the weekend and not having a "weekend gain" that I have to work on losing next week.

UGW: updated 67-63kg (148-139lbs) end of spring 2019I just realised that R61 was my last full round for the year as I'll be travelling for most of the rest of it. I am considering taking my body scales and/or my yoga mat, depends on my packing skills. The first trip next week is with work here, 3 meals catered for in a lodge, so i'll have to make the best choices available to me, but won't be logging as there is no point with it being all estimates. And then after only one night back, the second trip is for another job in Jordan over xmas followed by a few days on a tourist tour with my mom who will come and join me. I'll be staying in a hotel (and a tent one night), so again no way of logging accurately. I think i might just keep a list of what i've put in my mouth to keep some sort of overview.

Yesterday went ok during the day, but work stress and feeling a little home sick drove me to wine in the evening, after I've done a bit of body weights. And wine lead to crisps, which were incredibly salty, and also chocolate and cookies. Not surprisingly, I skipped Yoga this morning - I should just admit that I only do every other day. Then, as if to confirm that I won't be logging properly for the weekend, the batteries on my food scale seem to be dead. If I had my standard breakfast, I could have estimated, but in anticipation of going away, i'm using up what's left in the fridge/cupboard. Anyway, I know i'll come back to the routine in January, for now i'll focus on not giving up completely.
Sat 12/15 - 70.4kg this is surprising given yesterday, but I have been on the treadmill.
Had a night out after dinner at home. But obviously had snacks when I got home.
I'm really missing my actual home (London) this week, my husband, my cats. There are lots of lovely people here to hang out and have fun with. But I feel quite lonely and also guilty that I'm not with my husband while he's not feeling great. I know food isn' t going to resolve any of these feelings, but it's sure easier to be sad and full than sad and hungry...

Back again! I am honestly just going to try and maintain this round. If I lose an ounce I will be thrilled! We have my DH work Christmas party, my work party, a cookie and candy making family party, and this one ends on a Sunday. Plus we have family coming in Christmas weekend and they are staying with us. The next couple of weeks are going to be rough! I was really hoping to hit the 30 pound mark by the end of the year. I'm close, but don't think it is realistic that I will lose another 2 or 3 pounds by then. I'm happy with what I have done though this year, so I will take it! Good luck everyone!

12/14 - 151.1 back up a little from yesterday. I was under calories, but I did have a peach turnover at 9:00 and dinner at 8:30. Both my daughters 10 and 16 had choir performances at 2 different schools last night. So my husband and I had to juggle seeing both of them and getting dinner done for the other kids. I didn't want to eat out, but I ended up eating really late when we got home. Hopefully I can bring it back down, but I have my DH work Christmas party tonight and then candy and cookie baking with the fam tomorrow. So we will see what happens. All I know is this is a once a year thing, so I will try and make smart decisions, but I am going to enjoy it and have fun! Seeing that 149.xxx would be really nice this round though!
12/15 - 150.4 DH Christmas party was a success. We walked away with $150 playing bingo and I ate well. Saved most of my calories for dinner and ate what I wanted without worry. Stayed away from the desserts and even had a beer. Had a great time and stayed on my path. I also got back into a pair of black really tight pants size 6 that I had not worn in many years. So another win. Family cookie and candy baking today. Oldest son is home from school and helping out. So always good to have him home. 1 event down, 4 to go!
