Forgive me Mary, but I thought you were single, sounds like you have lots going on!

No. He and I have been separated for 9 years... I live with my sister who's six years
older than myself. He cheated on me with another woman. He lives in an
apartment where this woman comes and sexes him. He and she are an interracial pair.
He can't make up his mind if he's going to be with her or someone else.
I haven't been able to work and he doesn't make enough money to spare to
get divorce papers...it's slightly complicated. Needless to say, here, until papers are
signed, we're still married. Crazy, but I have no bitterness towards him. No need.
He just stopped wanting me. Enough of that. Girrrrl my life is one big crazy pile of
    poo... LMBO😂😂😂
SO... NO PITY PARTIES HERE LADIES. I helped my mom and the sister I live with through
their cancer. I've lived through Gangrene in my stomach, struck by lightning on my right side,
5 car accidents that I didn't cause... I'm FINE! I'm still here to fight, laugh, cry help others
    another day.
Hot Dang! And that was the short version...😂😂😂😂

Hoooooold on back up back up!!
    you got struck by lightning?!?
what on earth was that like? thought something like that would kill you!!
and gangrene in your stomach?! Oh Mary! how did that happen!!

there isn't anything that can get you down!
I truly admire your positivity and optimism!
November 14, 1990 my babygirl was taken by C-Section... The doctor only taped me
my stomach.. It got infected, I had a fever 105 plus, long story short...gangrene.
Freakish incident with the lightning. Sunny day, wasn't raining. I'm on the phone with
a friend in the bedroom, children playing video games in the living room. BOOM!
Lightning hit in the apartment blew the TV ran in on the phone I was on through my
hand, my neck and right shoulder. Took two weeks to be able to grip things... I've been
through a lot, but hey.. Others have been through worse.... I'm fine. Just made my heart
    Bigger and love deeper.

    what a dumb doctor!!
and that is a freak accident

I remember my visits to Florida as a kid and the thunder and lightning there was intense! I used to,love watching it though, we get more sheet lightning over here rather than forked lightning and theres loads! i remember watching out the window and we were in a cheap hotel and boom, lighting hit the building over the other side and the tiles and guttering flew off!
I frequently remember the first sign of a rumble my parents were like "out the pool now!!"
and we had to leave blizzard beach early for lighting too, not really a good idea to be in a water park LOL

I didn't end up studying, oops! I will get cracking on that though, 4 classes away from a $1500 bonus at work!

    JFT 1-8-19

    1. Log everything. :)
    2. Drink at least 96 oz of water. (probably closer to 80)
    3. Start studying for that work exam! :)
    4. Do some housecleaning as I won't get to the gym. :)
    5. Do something fun for myself. :)
    6. Make someone smile. :)

Ended up going to get my SO's truck from the shop...where it is now traded in for a newer model. So the clean out of all of the craft show stuff form the back counted as my housecleaning. Pretty much a weightlifting workout with all the bins/tables. LOL Now I'm enjoying Food Network shows while I relax for a few before bed.

    JFT 1-9-19

    1. Weigh in for the January challenge in another thread.
    2. Log everything.
    3. Get those 96 oz of water in!
    4. Start the next chapter of my work book.
    5. Go to the gym.
    6. Get to bed on time.

@frenchfancy2014 - Frankie is almost 12 1/2 and we got him from the shelter at 6 months. I just got new dry food for him today and he ate some of that, he's also been scarfing wet food like it's going out of style. I swear I don't know if he's just messing with us or what. But I do know he's thinner so he's getting checked out Thursday afternoon to be safe. At this current moment he's sleeping on a fleece blanket that he stole (he will literally paw them down from couches, chairs, etc so he can curl up on them on the floor). Thank you so much for asking, and I'm glad that there's nothing life threatening with your baby! <3

Morning all. I had a good day yesterday. Despite oversleeping I managed to change my plans and get some morning exercise in. Work went well and I’m feeling organised. I’ve been inspired by everyone’s words for the year and have been thinking about my own priorities. For me I think it needs to be balance I need to try and stop white-knuckling my maintenance with extremes of restriction to overindulgence. I need to make sure I don’t exhaust myself with too much exercise and I need to make sure that diet and exercise don’t crowd out other priorities in my life. I need to trust myself to be able to maintain while still socialising, to not feel guilty if i skip a workout, to rest more etc. And really work on what a balanced healthy lifestyle is. Tricky for an ‘all or nothing’ person like myself! 😉

    Anyway, recap on yesterday:

    Goals for Tuesday
    - morning workout ❎ overslept so did a 3.5 mile run instead - ✅
    - Pack kids’ snack boxes and my snack/lunch ✅
    - Water ✅
    - Check with M re delivery date for lesson plans ❎
    - Check with B re occupational therapist visit ✅
    - Health food store after work ✅
    - Early night ❎

    Goals for Wednesday:
    - morning workout
    - Pack lunch/snacks etc
    - Sign legal paperwork - post on way to work
    - Water!
    - Load car with donations for school
    - Run home at lunchtime to pick up car
    - Afternoon planning time - work on M lesson plans too and assembly script
    - Contact kids’ piano teacher
    - Consent for P school trip
    - Online grocery shop
    - Stay mindful- re-read 2019 goals
    - Early night

    JFt, Tues
    1. go to the gym :)
    2. log all food :)
    3. work on business taxes :/ Too many other things to do today.
    4. go water walking with my neighbor :) This had me so stressed out today. I went water walking with her last nite ... and she wants to do this every nite! While I had a good time, I am so so busy, and I really did not want to commit to going every nite (especially since I do try and get to the gym in the mornings, and I am still working!). But I did tell my friend I would go tonite. Well... then hubby decided he would ship stuff today, so I knew that I would not have time to do the water walking with her ... so I told her I had way too much going on today, and would not be able to go. She got really upset ... telling me that I am always busy ... too busy for friends, and that I need to make room for friends. She told me I need to stop and smell the roses .. instead of working all the time .. or being so busy. I was SO upset .... Yes, a part of her was so right. My husband and I are in our upper 60s, and yes, we still work. But we work because we are not like my friend ... in that all we have is social security if we did not work. We need to work to supplement our income, as social security alone is not enough to live on. Our business helps with paying for our health insurance, and gives us that extra money ... but I should not have to explain this to anyone. We do not have any pension (like my friend does!). Hubby and I both enjoy the work (even though yes, at times I would love to retire), but we enjoy being busy. And I DO make time for friends ... I belong to a quilt guild, I belong to a garden club, I love to sew, garden, in other words, I keep very busy. This friend is retired ... and no interests at all except for shopping and eating out ... and she does this all the time. Making me feel so bad that I still am working, that many times I am busy (really, its that there are things I would rather be doing than being with this friend). SO I was upset, and just wanted to eat whatever!! Hubby was nice, and hurried really quickly to get the stuff ready to ship by 4pm, so that way I could write to my friend, tell her that yes, I could go. So I went, but I had a long talk with my friend. I AM busy ... and I told her it makes me feel bad when she makes sarcastic remarks about my never seeming to have time for her. We did have a good time, and yes, I was glad I went, but I told her I cannot commit to going every nite, and she needs to understand this. I hope she does, but I know .. she will dig sarcarstic remarks whenever she get the opportunity. But the good news ... is that I spoke what I felt ... instead of eating to push back the feelings.
    6. mindful eating :)
    7. make smart decisions :)
    8. water challenge :) Tonite I need to drink 4 more glasses yet ....

I know I wrote a lot above (sorry for the long rant), but maybe I am learning that I cannot please everyone. that there will be people who love to put you down ... make you feel bad .... but the important thing is not give in and just eat and push the hurt feelings down deep so you don't have to feel them. Hopefully my friend understands how I felt (and if not, well, she may not stay a friend for much longer)

    JFT, Wed
    1. log all food
    2. get to the gym
    3. work on business taxes
    4. finish up on inventory list for taxes .. so hubby can do his part
    5. concentrate on drinking water
    6. concentrate on mindful, slow eating

    WORD for this year: Discipline

Got the kettle bell in today. For tomorrow, it's limit myself to one beer at our Wed night out with friends! I struggle to sip slowly when we're sitting at the bar for a couple hours enjoying good conversation.

I used to always have a glass of water next to my drink ... that way, maybe take sips of water inbetween sips of beer? And drink that beer very slowly!

@Snowflake1968 - I've never missed the hoopla, to be honest. Maybe it's because we're both close with our families, and we make the effort to get together even with extended family relatively regularly - two or three times a year. So at the reception we went around and said hi to everyone and talked a little bit... and then we left! hahaha I think we spent MAYBE an hour at the reception before heading out for our honeymoon. I think our parents took care of getting everything packed up and cleaned out for us.

We spent a few days post-Christmas with my side of the family and my flower girls are now in college. They're SO HUGE! I can still see their little faces inside their big faces... I remember when I was pulling on my crinoline and one of them asked me "are you a ballewina?" ;D

We have only lived near our families for 9 of our married years. I really feel my girls have missed out on so much. I have stood as maid/matron oh honour in 7 weddings now. I have done a lot of cleaning and packing up lol

New to this today, I didn't introduce myself - My name is Lesa and I'm from PA. I am 49 years old and at my heaviest weight ever. I've had neck and back surgeries over the past two years, so my mobility is not what it once was and the emotional stuff along with it added to my "bad" eating habits. I posted my overall goals for 2019, but thought I would add a bit about each so far:
    1) quit smoking - I haven't had a cig since 1/1/19 and feel great
    2) healthy eating - I am doing so so; bought healthy snacks for work, but failing at night
    3) exercise 3x week - I had a flare up with my back, so hoping to start tomorrow
    4) lose 20 lbs by the end of May - ongoing

My goal is to begin my light workout routing tomorrow (Wed).

Good luck to you all and I really look forward to chatting and support!

I quit smoking on May 11, 2009, my biggest fear was gaining weight. I bought myself a WIi and lost 25 pounds that first year. Good luck to you, are you doing it cold turkey? I used Champix in the States I think it’s Chantix.

Wow you have lived! You can’t say your life is boring I bet. I get the no money for divorce I have a few people that aren’t divorced because they can’t afford it in my life.

I didn’t know you could get gangrene in your stomach. My FIL was hit by lightning too.

@mytime6630 - that doesn’t sound like a very empathetic friend. She sounds a bit selfish. I have a cousin who I consider a very good friend that is financially very well off. She is currently not working as her business closed. When I became unemployed she told me I should travel to New Brunswick while I’m off. I said I can’t afford that, with Rodg and I both off work we are losing approximately 1600.00 a month. She said, “oh I hadn’t even looked to see how much my EI is, since we are ok even if I don’t earn”. I wanted to smack her.

I am so happy to see you stand up for yourself! That is something we all need to do.

    What is water walking?

    What is water walking?

They built a new community center near us ... and you walk in the water, but you are walking against a current. Kinda like a lazy river .. where the water flows one way .. but you walk in the opposite direction. It is hard at first, but you kinda get used to it. But it is suppose to be a good workout.
