My worries for the week. I’m a 52yo student, so classes are a constant worry. Staying on the eating program I’m using is a challenge at times and always in my mind too...

I'm there with you, 56 and finishing up my second Masters, this time a MS of Mathematics. I gained back almost all my weight from snacking while trying to figure out the homework. I would literally go buy caramel popcorn with chocolate drizzle, chips and salsa and cookies before I would sit down to do the homework.
My next class starts tomorrow. I am worried, as it will be the hardest math class in this program, but I am determined to lose, not gain this time.

I’m in..the struggle is real! Drink lots of water they said, give up soft drinks they said, count calories, walk daily..blah blah blah. 1100 calories, no soda, 70 ounces of water daily and months of walking 2-3 miles daily and I lost 0 pounds. Arrrrgh. I did trim the legs and felt good but I went up and down by 5 pounds from day to day. So, I’ve got to have the right combination of things and I HAVE to do muscle work. I love being in my 50’s except for this weight BS. Lol

Sounds frustrating! What’s the new plan?

10 pounds: I started getting my hair professionally colored. I had stopped years before because I didn't want to sit and look at myself in a mirror for hours.
    20 pounds: Botox,
    30 pounds: manicure and pedicures,
    40 pounds: massage and facial
    47 points: shopping spree!

I now need to re-lose 20 pounds and want to lose the final 5 pounds. but this time my rewards are goals
10 pounds down by Superbowl party
15 pounds down by Billy Joel Concert
25 pounds down by California vacation over Memorial Day weekend.

Mini goals and rewards are super motivational for me.

    What a brilliant idea 👏
Would you mind if i copied your idea?

    Happy losing everyone

I’m 56years old in NC just started dieting this week. I am using Bistro MD food and it has been tasty but no real weight loss so far. I had neck surgery this past June so I have been out of work and trying to lose the weight gained and get my strength back.

@Slider678 Golds Gym exercise bands for strength, some dance for cardio, the mission squat/lunge/push-up challenge and I need to get back to the Y for walking. I have kidney disease from chemo a few years ago, so I always drink a lot of water. I’m keeping carbs low but not keto-low and I improved kidney function by 15% when I was walking 10-15 miles a week and it dropped back down by 15% when I stopped so I’ve got to get back to it. That oxygen circulation does more than we realize & seeing the blood work before during & after really hit home.

50 year old living in Toronto, have been gaining / losing 40 lbs for about 20 years now, and I am back to the losing side of the equation again! I have always done with accountability/encouragement type groups like this. Is it too late to join?

welcome to all the new members to the group. @Slider678 yes weekends the hardest. At least I have stopped my weekends starting on Thursday and continuing until Sunday. Trying to limit the cocktails on the weekend..sort of. Tend to go out a lot on weekends, have a martini and start to lose it!

Click on the screen name and bring up their profile page, there's a button "add friend", think they have to accept the friend request.

QOTD - Toughest day of the week? Any day that am at home because like your Sundays @slider678, I tend to graze and the sweet stuff calls. Trying to keep busy & distract myself.

One day at a time. It's all I have so I need to make it count.
