Haha yep! can you believe she's 1 next month?!
We'll have to have a online birthday party for little Casey!!!
Totally! I hope you saw my post to you yesterday!
Oh and @PackerFanInGB if you get that quilt to me before the 26th Feb we can always say ur was a present for her first birthday LOL
I cant believe how much time you've spent on it! I'm so excited!
Oh yes, I did Bex! You are so sweet and encouraging ... with all that you have going on. Thank you!0 -
Tuesday 22 January
Log and stay in the green
Pack and get an early night ready for an early start tomorrow
Well done to those who worked on more stretching goals. Give yourself a well earned pat on the back2 -
Mon-Sun
- Log everything everyday
- Follow my cleaning schedule
- Drink 8+ cups per day
- Stop with the junk food, learn to say NO
- Watch motivational videos
- Sit less!
Right, checking in *drum roll*..
I effing DID IT!
I've smashed my goals today!
I've logged every morsel and I've got 300 cals left!
I still need to tidy up but weirdly I have the energy to do it!
I've drunk.. 5 cups up to now and I could get that to 6-7 but 8 is pushing it!
I have not had.. A SINGLE biscuit! not one! not even a nibble!
I did have a McDonalds hamburger but I logged it and made sure it fit!
I walked both times for the school run, in the snow.
Marley doesn't like snow... honestly that child!
AND I've walked the dog, something ive not done since before Christmas. I've played in the garden with him but getting him on an actual proper walk is a big deal for me, something I need to work in daily. (obviously, for his sake not mine!)
AND I got Casey in bed at 7pm rather than 10pm!
and I caught up on about 5 episodes of Emmerdale!
Feeling good, hope j can keep it up tomorrow!
AWESOME JOB, @Bex953172 !!! I'm always so impressed in all you get done in a day.
I'm thinking sending the quilt as a birthday present is a good idea since she's no longer a baby and the quilt I made is larger than a baby quilt anyway! LOL!

Well so far so good I've managed to stay within my daily calorie allowance but sadly a bit over my carb allowance but hey ho one step at time. My weigh in day is Thursday so lets see how well this has panned out. Apart from shopping I haven't done much today but I'm just getting over pneumonia so still feeling washed out.3

Today's word for the day: WORDS!
Years ago we had some lovely young ladies from Africa staying with us (I can't recall which country) for the weekend. At one point we were talking about weight, with me dieting (again) and I said, "I am going to lose 20 pounds." One of the houseguests gently encouraged me to say, "I am losing 20 pounds" Why? Because...
They shape our being, our thoughts about ourselves. When I say, "I am going to" then I am stating that it is in the future. My words are telling my mind and body that I haven't begun yet. That I'm not in the present mode of change.
I am losing weight.
Instead of "I want to be disciplined" I say, "I am becoming disciplined"
"I need to work on being patient with my children"...I am working at being patient."
"I'm going to drink 8 cups of water" ... "I'm drinking 8 cups of water"
"I want to go to bed earlier" ... "I am going to bed at 9:30"
"I want to stop hitting the snooze button" ... "I am getting out of bed instead of hitting the snooze button"
Turn a statement said in the future tense to the here and now. Try it!
Peace and joy!
So inspiring thank you!
Last two days been very tough as my dad is now on wait list for a hospice bed but I am staying strong and not comfort eating. God’s been good. Appetite not really there. Hold your loved ones close❤️
JFT
Be grateful for all the small things
Drink water
Log honestly

1/22 Day 15 Decided to make it easy on myself so chose to eat the same as yesterday. Also got all my water in early so hoping I can sleep a bit better tonight. I will need to see what is in the freezer for tomorrow's meals. Hard when you have no interest in cooking. The key here is to keep weighing portions and logging what I eat.3
-
JFT, Tues
1. log all food --- stop when I reach my calorie limit (set around 1200-1300 cal a day) HELP HELP HELP. My calories are at 1293 --- and I have to stop eating!!! Stressful evening ... just added 300 calories on without even thinking. So its water water water, and cleaning.
2. eat slowly!!!! I had to really concentrate on this .. hoping with time it gets easier Did great all day, until tonite
3. mindful eating ... think before eating Did good, but damaged the last 30 minutes. time to stop.
4. enjoy every bite
5. use my distraction list when I am hungry. Ask myself is is hungry, desire, or craving -- only stress eating ... so going to go and clean
6. brush/floss teeth after my last snack Going to do this as soon as I finish typing here
7. concentrate on 8+ c water
Our daughters doctor called us today ... our daughter refused to let us go with her to the appt, but at least she gave the doctor permission to talk to me (we had sent in a letter yesterday). The doctor said she told our daughter that she had 2 choices ... move back in with us for awhile ... or go to the hospital. So our daughter agreed to stay with us for at least a month. I know she is not doing well ... in a deep state of depression, and symptoms are returning.
So all afternoon I've been frantically trying to clean up the room.... making room for some of her stuff and clothes. I have been unable to reach her all afternoon... but I was OK with that ... thinking she is probably out for a run ... the only thing that helps her.
Well, I cannot reach her, and my mind is all over the place. I know she is suicidal by the signs we have been seeing. The doctor increased her meds, but told me she does not want to stay alone. ... but I can't reach her. I've called 4 times, left her a email. So ... tonite I mindless ate 300 calories worth of food (a granola bar and some trail mix, so at least it was healthy).
So my plan tonite is to clean. That is something that would keep me busy, and hopefully soon we will hear from her. The room is ready, room to hang up her clothes, etc. The doctor suggested we keep her apartment for now, because that would make her feel like she is going backwards... so for at least a month we will pay the rent.
So guys..... keep me accountable! I will report back how I do. I will just say the serenity prayer, clean, and hope that God will help us all.
SO JFT, Wed
1. try and go to the gym. I have not been there in over a week. I need that to help me I think, plus there are good friends there to talk to!
2. out to lunch with my neighbor ... so make wise choices
3. concentrate on water
4. be patient... put up with the mess .... give our daughter her space
5. take time to rest
6. mindful eating
7. eat slow
8. get back on here tomorrow ... be accountable5 -
@maryrobinson40 good luck/hugs to your daughter and thank you for your cheerleading
@mytime6630 peace to your daughter and family
@toaljasa your posts always make me stop and think
I've been trying to wrap my mind behind what is going on in my head (or not) with my eating. It's gotten so mindLESS the past couple years. Would like to feel energetic and clear headed again. I need to get back in control of myself and man the oar.3 -
Oh gosh, @mytime6630 - that sounds incredibly stressful and worrying! You'll be in our thoughts. Please keep us posted.
@BMcC9 - I use my JFT post as my to-do list for the day. I wouldn't be able to keep track one list for fitness, another for teaching, another for housework, etc. so I'm glad everyone else is okay with it! ;D5 -

Hope you're all having a good start to the Monday. I'm already almost 64 ounces in, apparently I'm thirsty today! Hopefully that will help get my back to behave more too. Still hurting like a you-know-what. Plan to walk at the gym after work today though. Moving seems to be helping it somewhat.
Did you injure yourself? I had pain in my back for years and finally am free of it but it sure did put a damper in everything I tried to do! Hope you feel better soon! xoxo
I totally missed this when scrolling through, @PackerFanInGB! So sorry! I'd strained my back shoveling snow on Saturday. It has finally loosened up and feels back to normal now. Thank you for checking on me!4 -
@Bex953172 your little one is SO CUTE! I love kids!2

1. Log everything - stay in the green
2. Get in at least 96oz of water
3. Walk at lunch
4. Write in both of my paper planners
5. Stop beating myself up for stuff happening at work
I was bad and took a nap after work today, I was just drained. So no journal writing today. All in all I'm still happy with my day!
JFT 1/23/19
1. Log everything - stay in the green
2. More water, always.
3. Go to the gym.
4. Planner time!
5. Do some beading, which is my form of meditation. Have a ton of projects to work on!
3 -
@newdaydawning79 Look at all those smiles! Nice!
@mytime6630 I'm praying for your daughter, you and your husband. I've asked my husband to pray for my friend, Joan, and her family also. I don't blame you for being worried. I would be lying if I said I wouldn't be nervous not being able to reach her. Hopefully she is just packing and getting her stuff together, taking a minute to herself to gather her thoughts about moving home for a month. I'm so grateful that her doctor read your letter! Thank God you wrote it. Hugs to you, my friend. Please let us know how you are doing...
@maryrobinson40 I am praying for you and your baby girl too. I am so sorry to hear about this! Keep the faith, and know you are in many people's prayers. My husband's too... Tim and I both look to our faith to get through many things. Hugs honey.2 -

I do not think this is bad to take a nap ..... it is important!! For me, when I am over tired, I tend to want to eat. So I have learned if I am tired, even if the nap is only 15 minutes, it helps! You had a great day!3 -
Hoping for no drama tonite .... hubby says to just go with whatever. Our daughter did come out, but right away when she got here, she says no, she is not staying with us -- that she is fine. She is still here watching TV ... so we'll see. The doctor told her it was either here or the hospital. .... we told her if she did not stay, it would be the hospital. Gosh, I hate this.
But .... I had one sugar free popsicle. I am in the red by just 100, so I'll take that as a win tonite!5 -
@mytime6630 sending you lots of love and strength and praying for a peaceful night for you.
@maryrobinson40 hope your daughter is on the mend and that you can manage to get to see her.
You are both in my thoughts xx3 -

Well so much for making a workout plan for the week! Today is supposed to be a long (for me!) run day but it snowed last night and I’m just too scared to run my hilly route in the dark in case there is ice. So I’m going to do my home workout which is a circuit type mix of cardio, strength and abs. Problem is I went to hot yoga last night and might be a bit sore. We’ll see how I go but it’s frustrating to have made progress in running and now be dealing with bad weather - wish I owned a treadmill!
Tuesday recap
- morning workout ✅
- Water water water ✅
- Run home lunchtime for car ✅
- Hot yoga after work ✅
- Stay mindful - 2019 goals ✅
- Get running gear ready for the morning ✅ but not going to use it!
- Early night ✅ ish
Wednesday goals
- morning workout
- Water! It’s working, keep it up!
- Cash for piano teacher
- Brief cover teacher for afternoon session
- Lunchtime meeting
- Afternoon session - plan observation lesson
- Health food store after work
- Pamper time - tanning and eyebrows?
- Re-read 2019 goals- stay mindful
- Wash girls’ hair
- Early night
Happy hump day everyone x4 -
@mytime6630 I have prayed for you this evening, and that your daughter will have a time of clarity for her to see and understand that she needs to be with you or the hospital. Regarding your eating: I would not even mention food issues during this stressful time but you did ask you might consider setting a recurring timer to announce you have 10 minute before cut off time. If you have Alexis or Google Home you can use it. (have them say, Joan, go brush your teeth!) Also, write down some quotes, Scripture, etc. and place them on the front of your cabinets and fridge, until life calms down a bit. Here are a few quotes to get rid of that stinkin' thinkin' that leads you to the fridge!
We are all gathered around you, lifting you up, embracing you, hurting with you.
Remember, sweet, Joan:
Peace and Comfort

Scale goalsEnd of 2017: 174.6
End of 2018: 189.2
Today: 189.6
Ongoing plans/ideas behind the cut1. Go to Mac store and see if they can retrieve the files off the iMac. Look for an "ugly Christmas sweater" and a long-haired doll at thrift stores. Practice French braiding.
2. Create vocabulary lists for each unit that come from the texts used: Animal Farm, Julius Caesar, Wes Moore, I Am Malala. Find a way to incorporate changing words from one part of speech to another. Students need to know how to review multiple sources and synthesize information in order to draw a conclusion. Regular: needs practice with quoting & paraphrasing sources, identifying claims that would need support, use of last names for reference, and capitalization practice (common/proper nouns, titles). Honors: practice subject/object pronouns (my friend and I / my friend and me).
3. Connect standards to assignments and include them in titles and in gradebook and lessons.
4. Develop writing mini-unit. Review scholarly research on 5PE. (I think I can have this as an intro to the research unit so that they also get exposure to how quotes are integrated and cited.) Parallel structure; use of emotional language, specific detail. Use "Write About a Pebble" lesson from Atwell. Use the UDHR and the Declaration of Independence to study paraphrasing; use that to front-load Machiavelli and how to deal with challenging texts.
5. Write next blog post. Comment on 3 posts each week -Tu Th Sun? Barn order: stapler, pencil sharpener
6. Keep track of medical stuffs. Dentist? Also Feb 7 9:30 w Ac Int. Sub already set up. Apr 22 McC. Need sub. Call to set up checkups with Dass (October). GET MAGAZINES FOR COLLAGES FROM DOCTORS.
7. Take recycling to center. Wash car.
8. Do research on characteristics: curiosity, persistence, resilience, creativity, responsibility, optimism, courage, integrity, authenticity, leadership, self-awareness, humility, compassion - others? Can poetry unit be condensed?
9. Go to used bookstore and look for Design for How People Learn (Julie Dirksen), On Writing (Stephen King), Dying for a Paycheck (Robin Hardman), The Prince (tr. Tim Parks, Russell Price, Harvey Mansfield, or Robert Adams). Check on alternate translations for The Prince.
Finally a dip today! Woke up with the alarm, though, so it's already go time. More when I get to school. Maybe. Today has already been hectic!4 -
