Kylia ~ Enjoy your meal and Happy Early Birthday! What a nice gift from your SnL!3
-
Good morning. I hope it is a nice easy day for everyone.
Happy Birthday Kayla. Hope your special meal out was wonderful.
Here is how I fixed my cottage cheese for lunch the other day. Added to 1/2 cup cottage cheese, 1/2 avocado, cherry tomatoes, yellow pepper sliced thin and a boiled egg. It was probably too high in protein for me but it filled me up so much I didn’t eat much dinner
My bone density story is that I had one three years ago and the tech called me and said I need to take some kind of meds. She said I had a 25%. Chance of breaking something if I fell. So I reasoned I had a 75% chance of not breaking something. Sent a copy of report to DIL who is an Orthopedic Surgeon and she had a colleague review it. Result was I had good bone density. Had another one last year with similar results but with a med recommended that DIL said NO that is a bad med. she reviewed report and said density was better than last time. I actually think the machine is broken. So I will see what happens at my physical in March.
May work in the yard if it clears up. Suppose to be in the 60s is okay.
Michele- glad you found the paints you were looking for. Hope your sinuses get better.

Ok so my office manager just told me she is leaving..now this could be a game changer...she is moving to St Petersburg Fla. So the way this Dr is ,he has someone in mind for the job who is going to be a crazy task master...I dont need stress with this.. so I might start looking again.. I could not sit up front and deal with Mary day after day.because she is just a pill....5

We r here waiting to start9 -
Me again. Fatter than I've ever been or ever thought I could be. Eye opener last night when my 6.2 husband told me I was within 10 pounds of him. OMG!!! Lots of broken ribs and now surgery on my foot slowing me down. My walking boot comes off Monday and physical therapy starts there after. Good news is at this weight the first ten should drop pretty quickly. Then after a couple of months I ought to be able to start doing my barn chores and riding furiously and drop the next 30.

Allie: Sleepytime tea is one of two favorite teas for me. The other is peppermint. :flowerforyou:
Lanette: I’m looking forward to hearing what you think after taking the 500 mg of B3 from Vitacost. There is no “health food” store in my community, nor anywhere in the county that I know about. :ohwell:
Barbie: Your dogs are lucky.
M in OZ: Great to be thought dramatically younger than your own chronological age, but not reassuring about the quality of the doctor. My experience in life has taught me an important lesson, assume makes an @ss out of u & me. I wonder whether that doctor has learned that lesson by now. :grumble:
Rori: Your February intentions are well thought out. Particularly like the SMILE and need to remember to practice it more often. :flowerforyou:
Heather: I’m happy to hear that you slept well. That is the best possible thing to do when you are sick with a virus or flu. :flowerforyou:.
Kylia: Happy Birthday! In my experience, the best part of Super Bowl Sunday is the Budweiser commercial. I like college football, but pro ball is not as much fun from my point of view. Last year was an exception and I’m not sure what made the difference.
Pip: I hope that 5:25 am start time got you through the gauntlet to Seattle without a nasty traffic jam. Your photo is wonderful.
Cheryl: It is nice to see your post, but I’m sorry to hear about your health problems. :flowerforyou:
There isn’t much on my calendar today. I will very likely fill it up as the day goes by.

Machka- Surely you can get a Bone Density Scan now. I was given a req. to have one by my doctor at my last physical in August. I called to make the appointment for it, my mammogram, bloodwork, etc all on the same day. I was booking for September 11th. When it came to the BDS I was told I had to wait until after my 50th on the 13th otherwise Alberta Health wouldn’t cover it, so I had to schedule it for the 14th. I thought that was a little too particular.
Heather - i hope you feel 100% better soon. I feel I would hibernate in my bed if I was sick too.
Kylia - happy birthday!
Lisa - it’s so nice to have your house to yourself when that is what you have become accustomed to. Enjoy.
Sue - how fortunate that your DIL can review your reports and lead you in a different direction. Sometimes I wonder about the meds that some doctors just like prescribing.
Allie - so sorry you are losing your office manager. Hopefully he has someone in mind that can control Mary.
I have made my daughters birthday presents and cards. My eldest will be 30 tomorrow and my youngest will be 28 on Tuesday. I have invited them for dinner tomorrow and will have cake for dessert. I am keeping the Grands for the night tonight so tomorrow we may craft something for Mom and Auntie. I have to figure out what to have for supper yet. I am thinking crockpot lasagna. I can do most of it in the morning and then not have to think about it.
Yesterday I applied for the job that I truly want. It is within walking distance of my house, has a good wage and benefits and I think I’m well qualified for it. I made a fb post asking all my friends for prayers and the non praying friends good vibes. In the comments on that I found out about another job that I’m applying for today. Rumour here is that there are still between 200-300 applicants for any jobs that open up, so it’s still a poor economy.

Holy cow ladies! My life is a blur! I have been working 12-14 hour days and collapsing when I get home. I have a new class starting Monday and it's at the same day/time as the class I am currently teaching. OK so......that should be interesting! Not sure what I am going to do about that one!
I survived the frigid last couple of days. OMG it was -40 wind chills. But I have the coat that is impossible to get cold in, so I did fine. My one concession was parking close to the college, when normally I part as far away as possible.
On the good news side, my most recent A1C dropped from 6.5% to 5.9%. Woohoo!!! I also have been getting >10,000 steps on most days and exercising some days. I try to fit in 10 minute walks or arm cranking at work when I can, but lately I just run from one thing to another! My goal for February is to get here every day.
I hope you have all been well and I hope to stay on longer before I get sucked into the vortex again! Stay well, stay warm, and take care! Meg from Omaha which has been designated an official iceberg!9 -
January goals - lose the Xmas weight & join a gym/leisure centre. Achieved both.
February goals go swimming at least once a week & gym at least once a week.7 -
I know I am behind on answering. I had a great week of vacation. Just being away from the stress made a big difference. Got a lot done as far a visiting a couple friends in nursing homes. One at the new Veteran home they just built and opened. Talked with the place my friend is at that had the stroke a year ago today. They were to move her to long term care this week. She has come a long way, but can not live a lone or take care of herself.
Then this last Monday we have a new great grandson, Logan James. He is such a cutie. When I figure out how to post a picture I will do that. They are moving into town later this month and am excited about that.
Sue--Prayers for you and DH.
I just realized I lost 6 pounds last month. Happy Dance. Now to keep it going and not let stress win. Had my 6 month lab work done and my AC1 is 5.9. Up from 6 months ago so have to work on that. One deal on my kidney was high, everything else in normal range. Go to doctor next Friday so see what he has to say.
Rebecca--Congrates for the loss of the month. Slow and steady and we have this.
Machka--I pray you get good news about your hip and can start running again soon.
I want to say that I read every post. I might get behind, but I always start where I left off and read them all. I learn so much from you ladies I do not want to miss anything.
KJ--The place your MIL is in sounds like a real place. I wish they would have something like that for my friend as she would be happy there. Now all she wants to do is go home and her DD cleaned out her apartment and threw most everything away.
Kylia--Great news about Aubrey.
Barbie--Thanks for keeping us going and I pray you are feeling better.
Blessings, Vicki GI NE5 -

My daughter says I owe the taxman £1.60. Lol! I pay most of my tax at source now that we no longer own the apartment that we rented out.

Pip and Kirby, I thought about you all day and your glorious opportunity to say good by to the viaduct and hello to the tunnel. I'm glad you had fun and shared all the photos with us.5
