We had a carbon monoxide sensor chirping two days ago. We checked every smoke detector before realizing it was coming from the fireplace mantle. It wasn't the batteries so had to get another one.

Haha, batteries in the junk drawer are notorious for being a century old :D

Yep second guess is CO detector if you have one. Ours does the reminder chirp too, except it always seems to chose to start when we've been asleep for a couple hours. Freak-out time!

Being the president of the Forever Alone Club, I usually find Valentine's Day to be a bit annoying, at best. This year, it barely registered on my radar. Until one of my coworkers brought me and the other (female) security guard roses and chocolate covered strawberries. Made my day!

I think my wife tried to do something special for valentines day. I was too tired after long shifts. After the last few years, not too many holidays mean anything for me. It's just another long shift.

Surprise Surprise Surprise. It's snowing in Montana.

The weather has been nasty here. Rain turning to a malicious mix of sleet, snow, and frozen rain. Ugh.

I hate the mixed stuff. Either crap or get of the pot and give someone else a turn. It either needs to warm up and rain, or cool down and snow.

I'm tired and it's raining and just above freezing (AGAIN) and this house is too quiet and I'm trying not to eat all the Zebra Cakes in my pantry.

I think I may be up too late when the nightshift thread pops up. Wish I had some zebra cakes though.

Also, I'm sad, but I guess that's obvious from my above post.

We had a nice dry day here in California, but far to cold by California standards.

I only like Oreos sometimes, but anything with whipped cream or similar texture? Gimmee!

I saw a bowl of milk with a stack of Oreos next to it. The caption was Oreo Baptismal Font. I'll take the oreos any day.

How are you doing tonight Jen?

Today I had a dentist appointment, a counseling appointment, and I visited a new church. My little introvert soul is worn out, lol.

Other than that, I'm getting along about as well as can be expected.

That's a lot for a night shift worker. Hopefully it's something a Zebra cake can help with.

Being that my mental energy is somewhat limited lately, I was totally worn out, by the time I got home, lol. Also, I'm out of Zebra Cakes! I solved it all by going to bed early.

Well, done. I would have stopped by the store on my way home and got more.

I legit almost stopped and bought a whole cake on my way home tonight, but I realized it'd lead to a binge if I did. 😥

This is going to sound crazy. I got a call from my wife. Her brother had a massive stroke and has passed away. It's the first relative she has lost. She is going to be struggling for awhile. Her mom is really struggling. She is not in good health so I'm afraid I may get another phone call any day.

I'm so sorry to see this. Will pray for your wife and family, and you.

Thanks Jenn, Don’t really need the prayers myself. I’ve lost so many family members I’m an old hat at this. My wife on the other hand could use all the help she can get.

Jenn, Are you back to work yet?

I am. I took one day off, and the following two day were my regular days off. I was ready to go back after not leaving the house for 3 days. It's never really been a good thing for me to sit around the house, I just fruitlessly mope.
