March 11, 2019... That day has been circled on my calendar for the last 6 months and now, it's here. I can't believe it.
6 months ago on September 11, 2018 I took a long look at myself in the mirror, and decided that it was time for a change. I had no energy and was in chronic pain. On that day, I gave myself a wonderful gift... I decided to change my life through nutrition and exercise. There would be no doctors, shots, or expensive protein drinks. There would be no "quick fix." Instead, it would be eating healthy, and going to the gym, and plugging away pound by pound.
It has been quite a journey, but I've learned a ton about myself and about how proper nutrition can heal your body. To say that I am 100% pain-free would be lying, as I have hip arthritis and I am bone-on-bone, BUT by losing weight and eating nutritious food, I have cut my pain considerably and have more stamina. I ran a mile on the treadmill yesterday in 10:44! Yes, I hurt a little afterwards, but not for long. I would have been lucky to have walked a mile in September.
I have about 20 more pounds to go, so my journey isn't over yet, but TODAY, I celebrate my 6-month milestone!

Thank you! I go to the gym 6 days a week and spend 25 minutes running on the treadmill, 20 walking on an incline, and 30 minutes strength training (2 upper body, 2 lower body, 1 core, and 1 day with slightly extra cardio/no weights). I basically just use a lot of the lower/upper body machines and some free weights on upper body days.7 -
Started at 229 lbs. Down to 185 atm. Still have another 15-20 lbs to go!

Wow check out those abs! No doubt you've been slaying it the past few months.2 -
This is one of the more humorous ones I put together.
Let is from 1990. Can't tell but I was actively bulimic then. Right was my self image when i weighed 310# at the time.
