Successes this week: Erm...
Challenges: Well, I'm on holiday at the moment, and in a place where you get free food with every drink you order, and its definitely not going to plan. My food-addict brain is starting to come back to life, and I'm finding myself eating just because the food is there, and drinking too many sweet drinks and too much alcohol. I'm trying to rein it in, but its proving so difficult because my partner has loaded the flat we're staying in with junk food, and I'm eating it at record pace. This is my biggest challenge. He's not worried about his weight (despite being overweight), so he eats and drinks as he pleases, and I just go along with him. He also keeps trying to get me to eat more, and I'm finding it a bit upsetting. I've spoken to him today about it, but he doesn't understand. "You're on holiday", "you haven't had that much", "treat yourself", "surely there's not that many calories in alcohol/tapas/treats/etc". I need him to stop doing this, because I'm weak-willed and give in. My challenge is to get over this 'eating just because its there' thing and get back on track.
My partner has been a bit like this in the past. It certainly makes it hard. But I think you need to have an honest discussion with him and explain that eating like this is not a “treat”, it makes you stressed because you’re worried about your weight and you would enjoy yourself more if there was no junk food and you were making healthier choices - and in particular his peer pressure to get you to join in his indulgences is making you resent him. You need him to help you be your best self, not tempt your worst self.
To be honest, if you don’t have kids I would suggest you rethink this relationship because this does not sound like a good dynamic - it does not sound like he has been listening to your very reasonable concerns and is being very selfish . (Wish I had wised up prior to having a child with my partner! Because it is like having an extra kid when your partner refuses to be a responsible adult or considerate partner and it is very hard to keep on track yourself - in any of your life goals - when the person you share your life with is dragging you down).
Good on you for being brave enough to share your challenges here. Best of luck in overcoming them in the coming weeks2 -
Can I please join. You guys are so awesome having a Yearlong challenge!! I discovered challenges this year and I am 39 and motivated to lose before 40!! I am only 5'1 so I am definitely overweight.
I started 2019 weighing about 166 this is my tracking for this month
3/1 159
3/8 157.1
Thank you for the motivation!!2 -
Starting weight: 209.2 (as of 1/1/19)
Goal weight: 140
Current weight: 198.8
Total weight lost: 11 lbs
Last week's successes: ummmmmm I'm down 1 more lb in the last 2 weeks?
Last week's challenges: I only made it to the gym once, and stopped logging calories. I also ate wayyy too many girl scout cookies.... so, I didn't really "fall" off the horse, but I definitely had her in the stall for the week! lol. but that's ok because I am right back at it again this week! The weather is improving and i've already been out to explore the trails for walks and hikes. Looking forward to a tune up on my bike and getting out to ride the trails soon too.

Week 9
Starting weight: 19 st / 266lb (at 6th January)
Goal weight: 15 st 4lb / 201 lb
Current weight: 18 st 2 lb / 254 lb
Total weight lost: 15 lb (Jan -9 lb, Feb -6 lb)
This week’s successes: I’m back in the gym lifting weights, I hit it hard so I’m sore and stiff.
This week’s challenges: Getting back on track, my weight loss stalled and I’ve gained 3 lbs in the last week. I haven’t done anything majorly different diet wise, so I’m going to cut out dairy for a week and see what happens. I'm doing KETO and IF and I'm over relying on dairy for good fats due to being lazy in the kitchen.

This week's successes: Not much...It's been a crazy week. Also even though I did bad, I enjoyed the week and still lost. Oh, and I kinda stuck IF.
This week's challenges: I wasn't able to exercise at all AGAIN, my tracking of food was awful, and I didn't drink much water.
Next week's goal: My mom is coming to visit me in Japan next Saturday, so I want to work really hard until then before I go lax on this vacation. Also, I'm only one more pound away from my first weight goal, so to hit by next Saturday would be the best feeling!!!

This week's challenges: A lot of them. Went out for meals on both Saturday and Sunday, and then got very sick on Saturday. I said I would up my gym game during spring break but I haven’t been feeling up to it. I still went both Monday and Tuesday for half an hour, but not as extensively as it could have been.2 -
