Do you drink diet soda?

I've tried Zevia. I highly dislike the taste and the stevia after taste.2

No. I rarely drink sweet-tasting soda at all (couple times a year, at most?); I think it tastes icky. The artificially-sweetened ones, to me, taste even ickier. I've never been a sweet-tasting soda person, even when obese.
I only occasionally drink any sweet beverage (though I like sangria, dessert wines, cold sake, sweet mixed drink, green chartreuse or the like) - maybe once a month or so? I like water or sparkling water (with or without citrus wedge). I like coffee/latte with just skim milk, and tea plain (herb, black, or green). Alcohol of preference is craft IPA, sangria at a place where they make it as I like it, dry wines, or gin (occasionally flavored but not sweetened vodka) & plain soda water.0 -
A little Coke Zero most days. I'm not scared of artificial sweeteners and it helps to have something sweet and tasty I can have for free, you don't get many of those.1

You left out the sentences following that (and what comes before it):It can’t pinpoint a cause and effect. But it’s not the first to implicate diet soda as a cardiovascular risk factor. A report from the Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis, published in the journal Diabetes Care, found that people who drank diet soda every day had a 36% greater risk of developing metabolic syndrome and a 67% greater risk of developing diabetes. Both of these conditions greatly raise the odds of having a stroke or heart attack. It’s a little surprising that diet soda drinkers were more like to develop two particular components of metabolic syndrome: larger waistlines and higher fasting glucose levels (results consistent with the New York study results).
At the end of 10 years, the daily diet soda drinkers were more likely to have had a stroke or heart attack, or to have died from vascular disease. The increased risk remained even after study investigators accounted for smoking, exercise, weight, sodium intake, high cholesterol, and other factors that could have contributed to the difference.

Not worth the risks to drink it on a regular basis.
My heart health markers started improving once I started drinking diet soda. 7 years of drinking diet soda now, and I continue to have excellent twice a year blood work panels/health markers.9 -

I really hate the after taste of aspartame so I don't drink diet pop. I am addicted to Dr. Pepper and cream soda though so once in a while I save up the calories for one, usually just on the weekend. I wish we had mini cans of Dr. Pepper in Canada!0

There's a few options that don't use aspartame. Coke makes a diet option that uses Splenda ie sucralose.0 -
I love Cherry Coke Zero and Cherry Diet Dr. Pepper. I gave the Orange/Vanilla Coke Zero a whirl and it was "ok" but didn't really grab me. I tend to stick to the Coke brands of diet soda as they have that little bit of bite that I like.

Same here, I find diet pepsi to be a little too "smooth" and sweet. Almost cloyingly so, and I like sweets.0 -
No, because I don't think the flavor is anywhere near as good as the syrupy originals. If I'm gonna indulge, I'm gonna indulge. I'm not going to drink some watered down version with a chemical aftertaste. (yes I know EVERYTHING is chemicals)1

Everything *is* chemicals, but that doesn't mean we'll like the taste of all of them. Not liking the taste of diet soda is, IMO, an excellent reason not to drink it.7 -
Yep. Coke Zero. 1-2 per day.1

I can vacillate between Diet Pepsi and Diet Coke, but really prefer Diet Pepsi. I find it really refreshing. I usually buy Diet Coke though cuz my daughter hates Diet Pepsi, and she comes to visit every week. I find the flavored diet colas too sweet tasting. Like diet Dr. pepper and diet rootbeers once in a while.0

Yep! Pepsi/Coke Zero every day!0

I enjoy diet pop (I noticed hardly anyone called it "pop".) My favorites are Diet Pepsi, Diet Dr Pepper and Diet A&W root beer. I don't drink it often, maybe 1-2 a week I'll have a can with my dinner. My absolute favorite pop is Mr. Pibb and I will only drink the original of that, no diet Pibb.0

I go back and forth because I have a mother from New York and a father from Michigan, so both soda and pop sound natural to me, haha.1 -
