Hi everyone, I am back for another round. So I am still floating around the low 150's, still waiting for that whoosh to get me into the elusive 140's. This round ends on a Friday and only has 1 weekend in it, so it should go well. No out of town events or anything crazy happening the next couple of weeks, so would love to get some real progress done in the next 10 days, but we will see. Ended the last round at 150.4, my body loves the 150's so much it doesn't want to let go for anything, lol. My goal this round is 149 anything, same as the last 2 rounds. 04/03 - 149.6 yyyeeeaahhh!!! I finally made it back here. It has taken some work though. Did well yesterday, did have an alcoholic drink once I got home last night, but other than that no bread and no sweets. Now just to continue to stay in this decade and not go back up. I officially only have 9.6 pounds left to lose. I am in single digits, lol.
04/04 - 148.8 What in the **** is going on. I can't believe I had another drop. I hit 150 something on 3/13 and could not budge from that number. Now I have had 2 nice drops on the scale in 2 days. I'm taking it and hoping to stay the course. I have officially lost 30 pounds as of today. I started trying to lose weight in July of 2018 and it has taken me a little longer than I thought it would. My initial time frame was 5 - 6 months to lose the whole 40 pounds I wanted to lose. 9 months and 30 pounds later I am still not at goal weight, but I am getting closer. Pretty much my average monthly weight loss is just over 3 pounds instead of the 6-8 I was striving for. Oh well, I finally made it to the 30 pound mark, so I am going to pat my self on the back and keep trucking. It's so funny because last week I was so frustrated and overwhelmed with the lack of progress I almost gave up. I'm glad I didn't and kept pushing my self. Somebody posted a couple of weeks ago that they actually weighed what their drivers license said they did, so I looked at mine. Well I put 150, which was obviously not the truth, but I actually weigh less than that now. No alcohol, bread, or sweets yesterday and staying on plan for today. My hubby and I do have date night with another couple planned, but I said I would drive (that way I have the perfect excuse not to drink any extra calories tonight). I love a good beer or cocktail on date night, but I will sacrifice the next couple of weeks to get where I want to be.
04/05 - 148.1 Didn't lose anything for weeks and in 3 days I lose 2 pounds. I am definitely expecting an uptick pretty soon. I only ate about 600-700 calories yesterday. I was slammed at work all day so only ate about 400 calories during the day and then by the time I got home, fed the family, did homework with kids, and then got ready myself, I was out of time. I grabbed a piece of grilled chicken I had cooked and a couple of bites of the mac and cheese and we left. Since I was driving I only drank ice tea at the bar and chose not to get any of the appetizers even though I was still kind of hungry. Normally I would have easily ate and drank a 1000 if not more calories last night, so I'm happy that I stayed the course. The play was good that we went to see and I had fun with our friends and my hubby, so all in all it was a great date night. Busy weekend scheduled like always, so hopefully I can stay on track and not gain to much for Mondays weigh in.
04/06 - 148.8 up a bit. Had some wings from hooters last night, but also a huge salad as my main course. So I’ll take the couple of ounces. 2nd oldest and middle child have prom tonight. So pictures and getting ready for that will be on the schedule for tonight. So far so good with my eating. Off to do shopping and errands. Hopefully will see another 140 something tomorrow.
04/07 - 150.3 expected! Texas Roadhouse for dinner last. So good! Just trying to stay on track today and maybe go down a couple ounces by tomorrow.
04/08 - 152.8 uuuggghh! Normal weekend bump. It will be gone in a day or 2. I know it's all sodium from eating out. We hardly ever eat out during the work week, but my weekends are so crazy, we just grab and go half the time. Yesterday was within maintenance calories, but we did not eat dinner till 8:30 (Wendy's) and then I went to bed around 9:30. Had to help middle child and her friends with a rube goldberg project that was suppose to take an hour. 6 hours later we were finally finished and hungry. On track today with lots of water and meals planned!
04/09 -150.3 just stopped in real quick to post. Super busy day! Meals planned and should be an easy day food wise.
04/10 - 148.8 Planned to get Chinese food take-out last night for dinner, so saved most of my calories for that and then made sure to drink lots of water throughout the day. 2 more days and I am hoping to stay the course and finish this round strong. Super crazy day yesterday and another one planned today. Going over to the oldest kids house tonight and help with a couple of projects they have at the new condo and then dinner in the crock pot.
04/11 - 148.8 I think it would have definitely been lower, but we didn't eat dinner till about 8:15 and I had a half of a baked potato that I thought was a good choice until I logged it. I doubled the amount of sodium and carbs that I should have had. I also had a small bowl of fried rice, so calories and fat were good, but killed myself on everything else. Lesson learned I guess. We have to go to the next town over tonight for dinner to a Mexican restaurant and last time we went there I gained the next morning. So going to try something new there this time. I wish we could get out of it seeing as this round ends tomorrow, but it's a meeting with family to plan funeral services for my husbands grandma that is on hospice and isn't doing well. We are also stopping by to visit her while we are there.

04/03 - 142.8 - dropped a pound already but I guess today was the official start so that’s where I’m starting.
04/04 - 142.5 - dropped .3 in a day, not too bad, that would be 3lbs by the end of this if I can keep it up.
04/05 - 141.6 - dropped .9 maybe going a little too fast. Didn’t quite reach my calorie goal yesterday but one day doesn’t hurt. I’ll try to be closer today.
04/06 - 142.4 - gained .8, i knew yesterday was a bit too fast but also had sweets yesterday and ate a little later than normal. It was a stressful day as well BUT its ok because today will be better and tomorrows weight will be less.
04/07 - 142.2 - small loss and more reasonable/expected results. I’ll take it. I also added in some Yoga yesterday previously I was just focused on eating right because have been on doc restriction from exercise but now I can add in yoga and I am so excited. I absolutely love Yoga. Yesterday’s practice was amazing.
04/08 - 142 - small consistent losses, I’ll take it. I have to remember I’m weighing daily. I’m used to weekly weight drops. Yoga was amazing!
04/09 - 141.9 - a little less than desired but at least it’s a loss. I am starting to get sore from the yoga, yey! I didn’t get in as much water as I wanted so that could be contributing. We will see.
04/10 - 142.4 - back up .5lbs, I think this is the TOM weight I was expecting since today is the first day. Hopefully it comes down by end of the challenge but if not I’ll have a bigger drop next round. 👍🏻

Alright, I am back after a couple of failed attempts of coming back and rather sporadic couple of months, little exercise and some gain.
For now, my goals are to get back to good habits of logging my food, eating healthily and posting here and then I finally want to make some real progress.

But before that I ate all the Easter eggs - emotional/stress eating I need to get under control again.

04/03 153 Off to a strong start! Yesterday I ate well, though I continue to struggle with meeting my protein goal of 60 grams. I'm always under. It's hard on just 1200 calories! How much that affects my fat loss, I don't know. Tomorrow I predict I'll be up by a few due to fast food meals with a lot of sodium...
04/04 153.6 I'll focus on the positive first: I made my step goal yesterday. Don't laugh when you read this- I did 2000 steps. You read that right. I have mobility issues and I'm usually at 1000 or less, so this was an accomplishment for me! Now for the negative...oh, wait, it's not as bad as I predicted! Only up by 0.6 lbs. Whew!
04/05 152.6 I did 3,267 steps yesterday just walking around the house more, and I'm so proud of myself. I got to eat grilled cheese and tomato basil soup with my family last night by tracking portions (half the sandwich, butter measured carefully, measured amount of soup).
I feel like I'm going to be successful this time because I'm doing 3 things in conjunction I've never done before: (1) weighing DAILY, (2) logging every bite and sticking to my calories DAILY, (3) giving and getting support from the MFP community DAILY. Oh, and perhaps equally important: (4) I'm being patient and forgiving, trusting the process enough not to freak out and give up if I stall or gain. This is a mindset shift, not a diet!
04/06 155.4 Per yesterday's insight, trying not to freak out. Had a lot of trouble eating enough yesterday, and didn't eat quality foods (cheeseburger, pizza, ice cream). Loaded with sodium. I know. Not at all balanced. Because I'm IFing, it is *sometimes* difficult to get in the junk plus the healthier stuff that would provide more balance and nutrients. The solution is obvious- eat the good stuff first, then add in treats if there's room, right? Better yet, skip the junk. I'll get there. But I'm not there yet. I've always gone extreme cold turkey in the past and burned out. This time, I'm focusing on not going over my calories, drinking tons of water, and moving more. The healhier foods will come eventually.
04/07 154.6 It was a slightly better eating day. Lunch was at a sub shop, dinner was BLTs with avocado (btw, my meatball sub sandwich was gross and I didn't even want to finish it, but I'd already accounted for it- anyone else ever make this mistake?). I was doing okay with my higher number on the scale until I realized from my MFP progress graph that it was the same weight as TWO WEEKS AGO. A real stall! I guess with all the bobbing up and down, I hadn't realized. Boooo. So then I felt super discouraged, but my MFP friends saved the day and gave me some great advice and encouragement. Two big takeaways: If I keep doing this, I'll be thrilled a year from now (strategy #4 from 4/05 check-in above) and I should be taking measurements to chart progress as well.
04/08 155.2 Managed a Beachbody workout yesterday, did not make my step goal of 2000 steps. Family went for a dozen donuts plus donut holes. Donuts are the one food I'd say I have zero self control with, and...let's just leave it at that. Today is a new day. Maybe it'll average out by the end of this round, though I'm farther from my R 73 goal of 151 than ever. I'm going to revise my goal to 153, my starting weight for this round. Four days until the last weigh in, I can do this!
04/09 154.4 All right, I feel back on track. I did 3500 steps yesterday, most at a moderate walking pace. Tracked my calories well, and I am on target for this week's calorie cycling experiment. Sunday's slide into donutland didn't set me back by a week- I'm truly making those famously important "lifestyle changes" I've always heard about!
04/10 154.4 Feeling great about my choices yesterday, lots of fresh fruit and veggies and 3390 steps! YOU GUYS, I'M WALKING! My hips are achy and I have to take breaks and ice afterward, but I'm walking! No matter what the scale says, I know I'm on the right track.

I slept 4 hours & 54 minutes. I took a long moderately paced walk totaling 150 minutes. I did not eat back my 717 Calorie burn for the walk. Another busy day at work. I must take the time to pre-plan my food so I don’t “grab & go”. That always ends in a nighttime binge & an overall disaster. Not today, nope, not today. Determined.

IF 16:8 . 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 6 hours & 6 minutes which was probably a sugar crash. This is how it works & no amount of wishful thinking or regret can change it. Fri 05/04: 166.0: Goals: ✅ Final Boditrax assessment this afternoon. Good progress made. Reduced metabolic age to 62, increased muscle mass, reduced fat mass, so I am very happy. All my stats were improved.
Sa 06/04: 166.3: Goals: ✅ granddaughter is home for a long weekend so we took advantage of the gorgeous spring weather to have a family day out. Lots of walking. Restaurant lunch, but made healthy choices, and drank lots of water to combat sodium.

REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.
Stick with the process. It DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

And today I’m moving on from it. It’s happened, I don’t feel guilty about it, I’m not going to beat myself up about it and I’m all prepped today with chicken, mixed veg, rice, salmon, sweet potato, fruit ect.
I feel much better today and in control. I’m glad these little blips don’t have the downwards spiral effect they used to have on me. So although they still happen (but less often now) I’m taking out of it a positive that I deal with them in a healthier way now and that’s all I can ask for.

We 03/04: 165.8: Goals: ✅ Busy day, but managed to fit my exercise in early
Th 04/04: 165.4: Goals: ✅ 'Free' day today, so worked on decluttering my craft room.
Fri 05/04: 166.0: Goals: ✅ Final Boditrax assessment this afternoon. Good progress made. Reduced metabolic age to 62, increased muscle mass, reduced fat mass, so I am very happy. All my stats were improved.
Sa 06/04: 166.3: Goals: ✅ granddaughter is home for a long weekend so we took advantage of the gorgeous spring weather to have a family day out. Lots of walking. Restaurant lunch, but made healthy choices, and drank lots of water to combat sodium.
Su 07/04: 166.4: Goals: ✅ Felt out of sorts today, despite sensible choices at the restaurant yesterday.
Mo 08/04: 165.8: Goals: ✅ Great day today. Unexpected after the weekend, but a nice little whoosh this morning. It will probably bounce back up tomorrow.
Tu 09/04: 165.8: Goals: ✅Delighted that I stayed down. I had a full day today, so had to walk when I got home late this evening to hit my step goal.
We 10/04: 166.2: Goals: ✅And there’s the bounce back up again 😂 😂 😂 What will tomorrow bring?
Th 11/04: 165.6: Goals: ✅ 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 💁🏼 Didn't expect that. 😂 Here's hoping it sticks tomorrow. Fitbit recorded 229 active minutes today!
Fri 12/04: 165.4: Goals: Make sensible earring choices on my trip away with friends. Stay under calorie allowance. Posting early today as I am off to meet up with some friends for a pamper weekend.
THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.
Stick with the process. It DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

I think I've fallen off the wagon slightly recently. I've stopped going to the gym because of other commitments and my eating has been more random, though still within calories. This round I want to focus on staying active, drinking plenty of water and being mindful of eating more healthily.
Goal for this round 150lbs. This is my first official mfp goal weight and represents 10% body weight lost since starting so it's a big goal and maybe slightly ambitious!
3/4 152.2 (+0.6) ok this is a good starting weight as I have been swinging above and below this number for a few days.
4/4 153.8 (+2.2) so everything I set as my goal yesterday didn't happen! Lazy day, not enough water and ate random snacky stuff all day! Pretty sure my system is being sluggish today so I won't worry too much but I defo need to try harder!
5/4 151.0 (-0.6) nice! I have a mental block over getting into the 140s, I feel like it won't happen ever, but really it's just a number isn't it? My body doesn't see 140 as any different from, say 150.4. There's nothing special about getting into a different decade and yet it feels like a big deal and unattainable. Oh well, just some musings. Weekend is almost here!

7/4 151.6 (+-0) had salty soup and bread for lunch

12/4 151.6 (+-0) oh dear I haven't had a good week at all! I think because it's school holidays I've gone into 'treat mode'. Been eating out and drinking too much. I'd better get a handle on this before I lose all my hard work. At least I've stayed the same this week! Think I've dodged a bullet though!

Seem to have been getting nowhere. Have lost 8lb since the start of the year but just been going up and down the last few rounds and getting very frustrated. Seems so much harder than last time - something needs to change but I have to find out what and how. In my head I am blaming peri-menopause (everything is a bit hit and miss and irregular these days!!) but is that an excuse rather than a reason ?
From a motivation point of view, I so need to get under 150 and stay there - summer and my holiday is getting closer ...... so target for this round is 149lb a 1.6lb loss - aiming for slow and steady
I do have 10 clear days to get focused............3,2,1,go!!!!

04/03 - 150.1lb (-0.5lb) - happy with that to start the round. Didn't get to the gym as planned last night - they are moving premises weren't yet finished so had a more relaxed evening (and quite enjoyed it!) Good food day planned and feeling a bit more positive with this good start
04/04 - 148.5lb (-1.6lb) What ??? 2lb in 2 days - no idea where or how but I'll take it thank you. Wish I could explain it as would do it again
Carb heavier dinner tonight (home made burgers) so may see this go up a bit tomorrow ...
04/05 - 148.6 (+0.1lb) Very happy that the big drop is staying dropped! No gym again last night as still not quite ready so did go for a (short) walk. Guess I am "in the zone" so hoping it carries on - really not sure what I have changed but going to carry on as is for now as seems to be working at the minute!
04/06 - 146.3lb (-2.3lb) Seriously ???? Over 4lb gone in 4 days having struggled for weeks and weeks. Can't go on forever so am enjoying it while I can - weight loss isn't constant but obviously all my work the last few weeks is paying off - just only showing on the scales now. All I can put it down to is that the last week I have been drinking more green tea rather than normal (english) tea and milk even though the milk was part of my daily calories - that is all that has changed. So sticking with plenty of green tea for now!
04/07 - 146.20lb (-0.1lb) - definitely wasn't expecting another big loss today! Really pleased with this as at least the loss is holding at the minute. Got in a 1hr gym session yesterday and 10k steps and feeling good at the minute. Good food day planned (including our within calories full on Sunday roast with dessert tonight!) so the scales often show a higher weight on a Monday but hoping to STS tomorrow. Target for the end of the round is adjusted to maintain this weight (although extra happy if a bit more comes off!). Happy Sunday everyone x
04/08 - 146.4lb (+0.2lb) - I will count this weekend as a success - Up 0.1lb even with Sunday roast last night, a glass of wine too and a few after dinner mints. Looking forward to this week as should be no distractions and aiming for a continued loss over the next 5 days although not going to predict anything as this round has been so bizarre! Good food day planned today although I am at work all day today rather than my usual half day on a Monday so wont get my usual Monday walk in
04/09 - 145.8lb (-0.6lb) - I am gobsmacked my weight is still dropping this round. I am feeling so much better though, bloatedness has gone and most importantly I am have been logging every single morsel that passes my lips. Not sure what I wasn't logging before so going to give the credit to the green tea I've been drinking Seeing the weight finally come off though does give me a boost and am feeling so motivated at the minute - long may it continue. 4 days left of this round yet but given up trying to set a round end target - will carry on as I am and see what happens!
04/10 - 145.1lb (-0.7lb) - I don't want this round to end! Expecting scales not to really drop tomorrow though as a carb heavy (although still within daily allowances) dinner tonight of baked potatoes and salad - yummy!
04/11 - 145.3lb (+0.2lb) as expected the baked potato high carb dinner is still around! Yesterday I was all within calories and macros (slightly under in fact) so I know its not a "real" gain. Still SSSOOO happy with this round. All food planned for today. Gym PT session tonight - it's all good
2 days left of the round.....
04/12 -144.8lb (-0.5lb) Blimey - I know I've been properly focused this last week or so but didn't think I was so unfocused before?? Was feeling very bloated but just had another TOM just 2 weeks after the last one, bloated feeling gone so maybe has in part been due to that ? Whatever it is round 73 has been an amazing round for me so thinking I may stay here while you lot head off to round 74
