Thankyou! The only strength work I do is BodyPump, which is low weights and high reps, so I suspect I may have just lucked out genetically there.
(I do love my BodyPump though. Nothing is hard work when you enjoy it)
Well, the thing is....you were carrying around an large amount of excess weight. Your muscles had to build themselves up to support it. Most overweight people have significant amounts of muscle mass. By doing body pump, you were probably able to preserve a lot of it. If there is any plus to carrying extra weight for a significant period of time, that's it. Plus, as you say "genetics" certainly doesn't hurt. I've always loved Body Pump too. I used to do when I went to the YMCA for 2 free hours of child care.9 -

Proper saggy belly, under conditions of relaxation and of tension.
And since this saggy belly is all that renains of the taut and bulging belly of a 27 and a half stone woman, I proclaim it the SAGGY BELLY OF VICTORY.

The people posting pictures are so encouraging. I have a lot to lose and I know I'll never have a flat tummy but it's wonderful to see so many people embrace their naturally imperfect bodies. You are all absolutely gorgeous. ❤14

Flab and flexing after 35 kg / 80 lb weight loss maintained 3 years. 1 pregnancy 25 years ago. Age 52. Calorie counting daily sticking to a weekly limit. Eating what makes me feel good. BMI 24.2. I am on the high side of normal. I am really short so trying to lose a few more pounds would make a big difference but is really hard.
Height/Weight/Bone Structure: 4'11" 120lbs
BF%: I don't know
Number of Pregnancies: 3 births
Medical Conditions affecting appearance: Diastasis Recti, Fibroids, endometriosis or cysts, not sure which
Primary form of exercise: ex. Weights and Running
Number of years doing aforementioned exercise: on and off since high school but currently back at it for 3 months. My pelvis was badly hurt during my final pregnancy 3 years ago and getting back in shape has been very difficult due to re-injuring it with exercise.13 -

So I have been trying to work up the courage to post in here for a while now and decided this month was it. The bottom picture was take last Friday (4/12/19) and the top was taken today (4/15/19) the day my period started. Same pose, same posture, same sized underwear! I just wanted to put it out there for all the women who get extremely self conscious because of bloat during their TOM. I feel 10x bigger and it was a struggle to button my otherwise fitting pants this morning.

Thank you so much for this. Period bloat is real, and so is the discouragement that comes from it. This picture helps a lot with putting into perspective that women don't magically get bigger overnight and to take it in stride 🙂18 -

Ever since being on this thread I don’t freak out during my time of the month when it looks like I’m carrying twins. This thread has been so good for me mentally, so thank you ladies.
I looked at this picture I took a couple weeks ago and was annoyed that I wasn’t perfectly flat. Then I remembered I have a uterus lol. Sounds silly but it’s honestly true.18 -

I just want to say thank you for this thread. I had my first babe four months ago and had an unrealistic expectation that my stomach would be the same after 😂 so I no longer have anxiety about not having my beach body right after having a baby! THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING SO BRAVE and inspiring so many.19

I've taken my BMI from 35 to 29 in the last year and body fat % from 42% to 35.5% and still going strong! (Overall weight is less important but 212lbs to 176lbs in the last year). The results would/could be better but I quit smoking cigarettes 3/31 and decided to let myself eat the crap for 2-3 weeks. Now I'm good and headed back in the right direction.
My goal is not to look like an IG model by any means, but that doesn't mean I don't like seeing real, fit, healthy women in all their glory, rolls and all. Thank you for this!11 -

I could tell when I woke up that it was my monthly bloat day 🤣 So I decided to capture it. Oh the difference 4 hours can make!
I used to get so upset by this but now I accept that it’s something I have NO control over. Age has brought with it wisdom...and stretchy yoga pants!29 -

Hahaha, I was going to comment on the stretchy yoga pants.
With age and wisdom (comfort not fashion) I took to wearing them too much and put on my one and only 30 lbs gain without noticing because they stretched so well. As did the accompanying stretchy tops.
Still wear them, and love them, just don’t go decades without weighing myself anymore.
