Exercise:

IF 16:8 . 12/13 Fitbit Step Hours (lost the hour during the restaurant dinner). I slept 5 hours & 34 minutes. I took a 33 minute walk on a deceivingly beautiful day – sunny but cold. Our high was 46 degrees. Tomorrow is a special dinner at my daughter’s house. I will IF tomorrow morning & afternoon & try not to turn the dinner into a late night binge when I get home as I stay up very late. One meal at a time…….

05/03: 194.4 (Lost almost 2 pounds overnight and I’ve only gained 2.4 pounds during this diet break which is an awesome feat! Last night I did an upper body strength workout and had a chicken stir fry for dinner. Next Friday weigh in, I’ll be at a deficit so I can’t wait to see how long it takes to lose those pounds.)
05/04: 195.2 (I had a nice date night with the hubby at an Italian restaurant last night. I had a carb heavy pasta which was amazing! Ending the diet break right lol. I also did a 30 minute elliptical workout and a total body strength training workout.)
05/05: 196.2 (An expected gain. I’m enjoying these last couple days of my diet break and my 12 week workout plan that is coming to an end. I did a 60 minute elliptical workout yesterday.)
05/06: 198.4 (The last day of the diet break and I'm so glad it's finally over! I had so many calories because of my 1 hour elliptical workout yesterday so I was trying to eat and by lunch, I was stuffed! Now it's time to go on a deficit! I am off from my working out for 1 week to rest my muscles of a tough workout plan.)
05/07: 196.8 (I had a relaxing day yesterday not worrying about getting a workout done and dinner was made on time instead of super late at night. I had breakfast for dinner, egg and hashbrown casserole, and helped my hubby study for his macroeconomics final, so I'm glad I'm off the workouts this week.)
05/08: 194.4 (All this weight I gained during the diet break is starting to fall off once I got on my deficit again! I did not do a workout and had some beef shell pasta last night. I also went to bed earlier than usual. For some reason, every time I go on a workout break I am tired all the time!)
05/09: 193.8 (There it goes again! Just 1.8 pounds more until I reach the weight I was supposed to be maintaining at. I would say I'm pretty close and I wasn't sure how it would go. Last night I didn't do a workout and I made some delicious chicken pot pie for dinner as a comfort food. I needed it since it's been a year since I cut out my abusive parents/family after being diagnosed with PTSD. It's a reminder of how far I've come psychologically. Only good things moving forward to the next year of freedom!)
05/10: 193.2 (This is a nice Friday weigh-in! I have only 1.2 pounds to go from what I gained during maintenance. 5.2 pounds of water weight since Monday is not too bad! I did not workout yesterday and I had some rice and beef with broccoli from TJ's. YUM!)
05/11: 192.0 (Omggggg I got to my weight before I started the diet break! I would say it was all worth it in the end. I had Chipotle last night for dinner!)

05/03 - 313.3 lbs - I felt good yesterday, and feel like I'm finally in a place to stick to it again. Glad I found this challenge!
05/04 - 312.2 - still feeling good. Working on writing when I want to eat so I can try to evaluate if I'm actually hungry or if it's a bored/emotional/binge thing. So far that's helping, I think...
05/05 - 310.4 - had a crazy busy weekend and was really proud of myself for not just allowing that to excuse poor eating choices. Made healthy food choices all weekend!
05/06 - 310.0 - I had gotten a little used to the water weight falling off, so what's stupid is that losing almost half a lb was disappointing. However, I am managing to keep carbs low without even really trying too hard. I'm trying to get used to only eating when I'm hungry, so far so good.
05/07 - 309.2 lbs - feeling pretty good. Kind of stressed because I'm getting ready for a rummage sale. But my brother brought over Pizza (my worst binge trigger) but I limited myself to just eating the toppings off of one slice. It put me close to going over my carb goal, but eating the whole slice would have been way worse. So I'm happy! 😊😊😊 Hooray for half way through the 10 days!
05/08 - 309 lbs - I slipped up and ate more than I wanted to last night. But still kept my carbs low. I'm not disappointed. I always hate the initial water weight loss when I first start because I get used to it, so I have to keep reminding myself this was all just water weight. And from now on, it's not going to be such drastic weight loss every day. It SHOULD be less than a lb fluctuation everyday (in either direction). So now I have to focus on sticking with it even when I don't show a big loss everyday. I'm doing the keto diet, and I feel like keto flu is creeping up on me. I have a headache that I cannot get rid of.
Also, for anyone else doing keto, (because it's been a long time since I started keto), but once you're first in Ketosis, do you notice you have a strong craving for meats and cheeses? Ever since last night, I feel like I can't get enough meat/cheese, which is weird. It's why I ate more than I wanted last night, and it's really difficult today to not just tear into the string cheese in my fridge haha!

05/10 - 306.8 lbs - I didn't weigh until after I'd had some water, so super pleased about it. I overslept today, and didn't have time to weigh before I had to take my daughter to school haha! The weight loss must be a "woosh". I think I'm getting the keto flu, feeling crappy today. But loving the lack of appetite haha!
05/11 - 306 lbs - Tired today, but definitely either getting a cold, or just the stupid keto flu. Not sure which. One of my random thoughts for today was that I love how the keto diet turns me into a frickin chef. I've been cooking bomb *kitten* food lately! So that's super fun haha!

05/03 147.8 Even though this is technically hitting my goal weight for this round, I'm going to keep my goal weight the same for now. Still going strong on my (temporary) keto plan, and I set movement alarms yesterday to reach 3744 steps. Two weekends to get through in this round, here we go! (Don't mess it up, don't mess it up...)
05/04 147 No complaints! Expecting it to bounce up again tomorrow. Everything is sitting like a lump in my stomach.
05/05 144.4 What?! Yesterday, I did a short aerobics workout, but it only balanced the extra 200 calories I ate, so I guess I have to credit keto for this? Boo, kind of. I like carbs!

There are lots of things I like about this way of eating, and so many things that are not sustainable for me in the long term, as I have learned previously. 05/09 146.2 So of course I didn't GAIN 2.6 lbs overnight on the 887 calories I consumed yesterday (abnormally low, I was having an awful pain day). Nor did I, evidently, LOSE 2 lbs OF PURE FAT between Monday and Tuesday, ha. Weighing daily on this challenge has taught me that it'll all settle out!
05/10 145 Down 1.6. What a rollercoaster of a round this has been! Only two more days to go, but one of them is Mother's Day, so I need to be proactive and *make a plan* for not blowing my progress in one day.
05/11 144 My lowest weight in over a year. Even if it doesn't stick (probably won't), I am just shocked by this round. I'm weighing in this morning 5.2 lbs less than at the start of the round somehow as I approach the end of my second week on keto. And I lost 4.4 lbs in my first week. Honestly, it worries me a bit because I'm only doing this for a month to support my husband, then back to regular ol' CICO. Hope I don't regain.

Having a really hard day. Just feeling emotionally empty. I don't know what's wrong with me, but it's got nothing to do with my weight or food so there's that. I just want to go to bed but I have to go back for a second shift in 3 hours. I'm going to try to take a nap. Thank God it's the weekend tomorrow. Just gotta power through.

Sorry forgot to post yesterday. I overslept, but still weighed in. Still haven't been keeping up with exercise. Tonight I'm making fancy Ramen for my special friend and it's gonna be a high sodium day!

My weight has dropped below my maintenance range and I don't know why. One explanation is later weigh in time. I was really exhausted after a week of poor sleep so I slept in super late today. That's the only thing that makes sense since I actually are way over maintenance on Thursday, and yesterday I ate 2000 cals. If my weight is still down come Monday I'll start making eating more a priority for next round. Taking into consideration that today and tomorrow will be heavy food days I'm not too worried 😂 Oh and I'm finally doing something active today, playing tennis with my family after lunch.

05/04 - 140.2 (+.3) no idea what’s going on. I’m not eating over my calories. I’m exercising a ton. Drinking a ton of water. Should be going the other way but it is what it is. I’m guessing it’s bloat and water retention since there’s not much else I can attribute it to. Going to keep at it and hope for the best in the coming days.
05/05 - 140.3 (+.1) I have no idea what’s happening. I am thinking maybe I’m holding on to water because I’m fighting a cold. I’m still able to eat and have energy but still fighting a head cold. Not sure what else could be happening. I’m eating good and doing more activities than ever.

05/08 - 139.1 (-1.8) finally lost some of the water retention. Still about a pound up from where I was before though. I’ve been working pretty hard the last week and would have expected better results but I’m glad I’m finally down again. Only 4 days left to make goal so I can’t see it happening unless there is more water weight to lose. On a positive note I am looking smaller, clothes fitting better, and muscles are popping. 💪🏻

Feeling down today... Found out my husband not only forgot about mother's day tomorrow but forgot that today was our wedding anniversary. He really is a great guy who has had a couple stressful weeks at work so I told him that it is totally OK and I am not mad. 05/03--207.6 Lowest weight in about 3 years. Went to trainer yesterday...my trainer complimented me on my strong back, I felt really good. Hubby and I practiced our dancing last night.
05/04--207.6 Going for a run today, The weather is supposed to be great here today so later hubby and I will be taking the dog for a long walk and then going out for dinner.
05/05--207.4 Perfect weather in the PNW yesterday for a run...ran for 4.5 miles. I went out for dinner yesterday and ate something that I have a food sensitivity to so I expect a bump up in the scale over the next couple of days, but I made a conscious decision to eat the food so I'm okay with that. Went to the gym this morning. My husband was impressed that he could see the definition in my shoulder muscles as I was tying my shoes...it's funny how a compliment about something like shoulder muscles could make my day.
05/06--208.5 There's the jump I was expecting. I woke up with a tummy ache and felt heavy, so I knew the weight gain was because of me eating food I was sensitive to, but back to my non-sensitive food eating today. Doctor's appointment today and run later today.
05/07--208.3 Ran 2 miles yesterday, was going to run longer but it was a little too humid. Trainer tonight.
05/08--208.7 Sore from trainer yesterday and was so hungry when I got home. Snacked and didn't drink a lot of water today. Will make sure to get water in today. Run today and then yoga.

More importantly I woke up later than I had planned and didn't want to go run, but instead I went out in the heat and easily ran the 5 miles...for me that's more important than the number on the scale

05/03- Still have not seen any Spring weather foggy, rainy. Enjoyed playing basketball with the grand kids. Went for walk , kettlebell exercises and stretching. Have a great weekend!
05/04- busy day, went for a walk, cleaned the house, had my MRI, had dinner to celebrate our Anniversary it was in Dec. so we got together yesterday and ordered Chinese Food.
05/05- Weather was a perfect sunny day, enjoyed a walk with my husband.
05/06-Went for a three mile walk. I have so much energy, especially at the end of the day.
05/07- Did to much again today, I had to pick at dinner.
05/08- Lots of exercise today, 2 x walks, stretching, kettlebell.
05/09- Great news! 2 Thumbs up on my MRI. I have been picky with my meals.Good- exercise day.
05/10- Went for a long walk, did a lot of stretching and working on strength exercises.
05/11- Continued walking, I have walked every day since March 17, my legs are getting strong.

@quiltingjaine, Yes, the lowered carbs always make a big difference. I've been so quiet on the challenge boards in the past weeks, because I'm working on me. 😉
Still trying to pin down the lingering causes of my 7 month, what I'm going to call "keto plateau" I thought I had it solved. I'm always experimenting on myself. The key had been in one of my food choices, peanut butter. I want to eat it when I'm low on b vitamins. I had stopped taking my vitamins for a while. So, started taking them again, but still want pb, just not as often. Now, I like peanut butter, but it was getting ridiculous. Before keto, it was one of those food items that I'd push aside in my pantry while searching for something else. It could be there for months without me really noticing it. I do know that PB is also high in potassium. Do I just need to increase my potassium? Yes/maybe. I NEVER get 4700mg of potassium daily. I barely break 2000mg a day. Not even when I used to drink two 24 ounce green smoothies + vegetables a day. I finally thought, maybe this "plateau" has to do with electrolytes. But, uh, I'm drinking my electrolytes. What gives? May 6th, I got close to 3000mg. On May 7th, I mixed 1/4 tsp of LoSalt and increased Morton salt substitute to 1 tsp mixed in water and drank it throughout the day. My potassium intake was 7190 milligrams. Three days in a row my potassium level has been over 4000mg. Each day my fluid weight has dropped some. I'm encouraged. Will the month of May be my exit from the 170's? Praying for it!4 -

Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and have gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then; I don't want to gain any more, but would like to get back to my goal weight – I'm working at it!
The last day I shall not be weighing in as we shall be flying out for the first day of our holiday in Italy. Need to do really well over the next 9 days .

05/12 NW - early start at the airport after a lovely wedding yesterday, but well over calories on meal & alcohol at the reception and only managed 2.25 miles walking with traveling there and then straight to the airport afterwards, but such a lovely couple and wouldn't have missed it for the world!! 05/03 13,10 - Ho hum. Start of Bank Holiday weekend so need to plan out food so I don't go off-track.
05/04 13,11 - Seriously irritated by this but too busy to get drawn into a funk. This is my heaviest workout day with a 2hr martial arts session including fight fitness which was a killer today. No car available so I had to bike there and back in the wind. On the up-side I have lots of calories to play with.
05/05 13,10 - Got up super early to do a car boot sale. Despite being busy I seem to have used up far to high a percentage of my calories before dinner.

05/12 13,10 I'm very grouchy about this. I'm trying not to be and I know some of it is water from yesterday's workout but still. Its not helping that my husband (who is a healthy weight) is doing a work weight loss challenge (they win days of annual leave so he thought he'd join in) and is currently 'the biggest loser'. He doesn't understand how I haven't lost weight and thinks I should do what he's doing (eating hardly anything to 'win') and that I'm just not making enough effort. However, I'm off to sign up to the next challenge - I can't go backwards and if this is an artificial high at least I have a chance in the next round.

06/05 -132 What the heck is wrong with me? I joined this challenge to try and get some consistency in my life but, although I weight myself every morning I haven't got round to posting the results. I am close to my target weight having lost most of the lbs I put on over the winter but my real goal is to stop the cycle of weight gain and weight loss that I seem to be trapped in.

08/05 -131 I think I have cut my calories too far, too fast. My weight has dropped but I have been hungry. Last night I eat rounds of toast and then chocolate left after Easter. I think this is a further example of my bad habit of either eating too much or crash dieting. My aim for the rest of the challenge is to eat at maintenance to regain control.

10/05 132 A good day, went out with a friend to watch the football at the local WMC. More relaxed.
