05/05: 185.4 WHAT?! We are doing an antique and collectible show this weekend and it's hard work. I'm sore and have made horrible food choices. Still didn't expect that much gain. Today is the last day of it.
05/06: 184.2 A little drop. The show is over, we didn't get home til 10 pm last night. My hands and feet are incredibly swollen and I am super sore lol. These shows kick my kitten every time. This big one is only 2 times a year, thankfully. Back on track today.
05/07: 186.0 Back up today. I did good yesterday with calories. Not much water though. Still swollen.

05/05 - 143 - I did not eat great today, but I'll be back on the wagon tomorrow.
05/06 – 143.5 – Last Monday I was at 144.5, so I must not have done as much damage this weekend. (Unless it shows up tomorrow) Weight loss calories and water this week.
05/07 – 142.5 – Glad it’s dropping.
05/08 – 142 – One year ago today I started this challenge for Round 40 at 174 lbs. I’d lost 12 lbs. on my own the previous couple months and then got stuck for a couple weeks. I was hoping this group could keep me focused and help me lose the weight I’d been actually trying to lose for over 17 years. Well, it worked. I’ve certainly had my ups and downs, literally, with my weight this past year, but reading all your posts and taking some advice I’ve learned here has made this weight loss stick this time. The most helpful lessons I’ve learned are: Drink water, take body measurements, excess carbs in a meal will cause temporary weight gain, drink water, expect fluctuations for no good reason, measure and weigh food, and drink plenty of water! Thank you to all!
05/09 – 143 – Expect fluctuations for no good reason! On the plus side, I had a Dr. appt. yesterday and I weighed 145, fully dressed, after I had eaten lunch. Also, since my weight loss, my blood pressure has been so good that I haven’t had to take blood pressure pills for the past 10 months and it was confirmed yesterday.
05/10 – 142.5 – I did not drink enough water yesterday and with the weekend coming up, I’ll have to be careful with my calories today.

05/03- 328.4 - I started a new medication yesterday, ate fast food for lunch and then had pie for dessert, and walked a lot yesterday... so it’s not surprising to see a gain, but I was hoping I wouldn’t. Back on the wagon though!
05/04- 328.4- I’m really not understanding this plateau at all, but I’m trying to just push through it. I was expecting to not start having these issues until I had lost significantly more weight.
05/05- 328.2- maybe things are starting to move again? I hope so.
05/06- 328.2- still frustrating.
05/07- 327.0- it moved! Yay! I stuck to it and didn’t let the lack of movement sabotage me!!

05/10 - 155.6 - Another blip up. I didn't have a great day yesterday with food or water. I was HUNGRY. I was over by about 200 calories (but still a slight deficit overall) and only had about 20oz of water. Ick. But I was out in the plant all day so no water available. Today I'm super bloated and feel a bit gassy (the burps are real this morning, oh my) which is weird. Its the upper stomach mostly so hopefully by the end of the day things will level out. No idea on dinner but have protein shake for lunch in case we go out for "Fat Friday" I can fill up on the shake first and have a tiny portion instead. I have my water bottle at my desk and only 2 meetings today that I can take my water with. Here's to getting back on track. Maintained a steady weight for Biggest Loser at work and this was the final weigh in. Last week I was at a 6.0% weight loss and my weight in was identical today. Not bad considering all the ups and downs.

Previous day's comments for R7605/03 - Its Friday. Its been a mentally draining week and I could not keep up with nutrition the way I needed to. Had to take a step back and get my mind right and that meant sacrificing some of my focus on tracking, planning, and preparing. Hopefully today will go a little smoother and I can get back to focusing on getting even better things in my body. Don't have anything good at work for lunch so it won't be a great day, but if I can keep my mind in the right spot, I can move forward from here (:

05/06 - I want to be excited about this weight but I know its a false low. I was so nauseous yesterday that even drinking water make me throw up. Didn't eat anything until about 8pm (after drinking ginger ale to calm me down) and even then, it wasn't a lot. I'm so dehydrated right now. I just hope when I bounce back, it won't be terribly high. I feel okay-ish now but barely any sleep. Stupid storms. Supposed to storm all night tonight and tomorrow night so hopefully they aren't as crazy as last night and I can sleep through
05/07 - There it is! I actually feel much better about this because I was worried once I started eating and drinking again, it'd be much higher. I didn't eat well (mostly carbs) but they helped absorb some of the icky stomach acid that is destroying my world right now. But I'm hopefully a little closer to back on track today (: Still no good sleep, two different storms came through last night (not including the one with hail earlier in the evening when I got home). Storms/rain all day today and storms all night tonight again. I feel so weak and tired and unfocused. Hopefully this ends soon.
05/08 - I'm all over the place. Hopefully this sticks. Have a semi-okay lunch but I haven't been grocery shopping lately to get anything good. Water needs to pick up but our water fountains are out of service at work so I can't refill my water bottle unless I use the sink (ick). Hopefully today they're working. Actually got some sleep last night. Not a ton, but way better. Storms tonight are supposedly early in the evening and giving away to rain overnight and that may help. Mentally been struggling these last few days though ): Hopefully I'll bounce back soon.
05/09 - - A blip up. I was over my calories, but still in deficit so I'm curious. But we did go to hibachi last night. I got the salmon. Had a little rice (maybe a half a cup's worth) and ate vegetables and salmon. I still have more than half my dinner left (eating for lunch). Maybe it's just salt as I know from other hibachi places, they use quite a bit. No worries, I'm not up a ton and still doing well. If I stay this exact weight until the end of the round, I'll still be at my lowest end-of-round weight (: Progress is progress. Plus, my stomach doesn't look quite as bloated as normal so I'll take it! NSV: my belt fits on the tightest loop again! Its very hit and miss that it happens but usually the second to last is most comfortable. Now its too loose!!!

05/10-164 I'm ok with this. I have been on track with my eating even when I went to mcdonalds yesterday I got salad and water. Wins for this week I have been able to resist the doughnuts on the counter that have been there all week, im choosing water over other beverage choises almost every time and I have been skipping my before bed snack unless im truely hungry. MFP caloies are in the green for probly 6 days in a row 🙌

05/07 – 186.3 – SO happy, some of this came off already. I drank all my water for the first time in several days.

05/03 - 187lb - had take out the night before so this is actually a 1lb gain on the previous day.
05/04 - 186lb - back to what I was on 05/02 which makes sense
05/05 - 185lb - unexpected but yay! Had a good day with lots of walking yesterday and made a delicious (for my cooking anyway) low-calorie adapted Moussaka.
05/06 - 185lb - reasonably good day yesterday, stayed well within calorie goal and went for a walk.
05/07 - 185lb (though the scales jumped between 184 and 185 a couple of times so can't be too far off!). Good day yesterday again, made it to the gym though my back isn't too happy about that. Eating out this evening so we will see what that does to this number...
05/08 - 187lb - yep I deserve that. Massive meal, cider, loads of salt and I forgot to weigh in before I drank half a pint of water... It'll drop in a day or two but yeahhhh that's a bump.
05/09 - 184 lb - wowza! I knew yesterday's was artificially high but didn't expect a 3lb change! I'll take it . Might be slightly artificially low as I feel thirsty but we will find out tomorrow!
05/10 - 184lb - well it's real! And I didn't have the greatest sticking-to-plan yesterday but did pretty good without compromising on social activities so I'm happy with that! I want to keep this number (or lower, you know...) until the 12th!

5/3 - 144.8. Nice whoosh for the first day of this round! Had a rough round 75 and ended high, looking forward to turning that around. Wins yesterday: RPM class, 4 miles of walking. Tracked every bit of food and liquid that I took in, just 30 calories over goal and drank a lot of water. Goal for today - continue the trend. Track everything!
5/4 - 144.6. Very surprised it’s not up, I’ll take it! Had a couple of beers last night and I’m not a regular drinker so I assumed it would go up due to bloating. Will hydrate well, stick to my calorie goal and exercise today in hope of flushing it out. Wins yesterday: tracked everything and only slightly over calorie goal, hydrated well, fit in a short HIIT workout even though I didn’t think I would have time.
5/5 144.4. I like these little drops! Wins yesterday: really hard HIIT workout, and a short bit of Zumba. Shorter dog walk (1.5 miles) due to weather. Hydrated well. Had dinner at a friend’s so couldn’t track well since I didn’t prepare it but did my best to watch portions as I know it was a heavier meal.
5/6 - 143.7. Matched the lowest I've been since I started the 10 day challenges, back at the end of round 73. Wins yesterday: 3.2 mile dog walk, yoga class, did some chores around the house and grocery shopped for the week. Hydrated well. Only went over calorie goal by about 50 calories, even with Oreos . Now that I see my low weight again I'm motivated to end this challenge lower than that.
5/7 -143.1. Big whooshes this round! I know from previous rounds it can be fleeting so I'm enjoying while I can. Wins yesterday: 5 mile run, 3.25 miles walking. Tracked everything, I thought I would be over a lot but ended up just 30 calories over target. Didn't hydrate as well as I should. Didn't sleep well so I'll be working hard today to not make poor decisions based on being tired.
5/8 - 144.0. Bodies are weird. Yesterday was a better day than the one before but I’m up almost a pound. Oh well, I know I did most things right. Wins yesterday: HIIT class and 2 mile walk. Hydrated decently, could do better but it was enough. Stayed right at calorie target. Will stay the course today and hopefully will come back down.
5/9 - 142.9. Bouncing all over the place the last few days! Wins yesterday: bodycombat and RPM classes. Hit calorie target. Hydrated ok but could have done better based on my activity level. Goal is to stay the course the next couple of days, because I have a lot going on this weekend and will be out of my normal routine. Didn’t sleep well again so will try not to give in to the tired cravings.
5/10 - 143.7. Wins yesterday: HIIT session with weights, 2 mile walk. Had my annual wellness checkup at work. From last year, I'm down 10 lbs and 0.82% body fat, my cholesterol is 17 points lower, resting heart rate and blood pressure nice and low. By all accounts I'm very healthy which is fantastic! However...I decided after seeing these numbers that I "deserved" some junk food so I had too much last night. And my weight is up today for it! It's ok though, just one day. This morning was a good reminder that it's not worth it to do that all the time, but an occasional indulgence is fine. I have family in town this weekend, an all day softball tournament tomorrow for my daughter, and going to a concert Sunday night. My goals will be to have fun, but be mindful of portions and not go too overboard. Hopefully will be able to end this challenge with an overall loss still.

05/05: 168.2 wahhhhh Maybe the delayed effects of the alcohol Friday night? Oh well, it's cleaning day at my house. Since our 2 week vacation, illness, husband out of town, and super busy weeks I don't think my house has EVER been so cluttered and dirty. It's time to tackle it!
05/06: 167 okay back down but ready to see this number go. I got a ton accomplished in my house yesterday but definitely more work to be done. No time today as work is busy, have to bring ice cream sundae stuff to school for teacher appreciation and daughters TBall practice. Salsa chicken going in the Crock-Pot this AM for an easy and quick meal tonight.
05/07: 167 Again!! My eating times were all screwy yesterday which lead to some pre dinner snacking. So not terrible to see the same number.

05/09: 167.8 this reflects the choices I have made. Looking forward to getting past this week and away from the extra mental load I've been responsible for. Plus it should free up some time for walking outside on sunny days!

Round five! With no holidays, travel plans, or field trips in sight, I can finally get back into my routine for this round. I plan on continuing to be mindful of how much water I'm drinking, getting at least 10,000 steps tracked each day, and working out when I have it scheduled on my calendar. I'd like to see anything in the 170's on the scale by the end of this challenge.

05/03 182.8 lb I worked out for the first time last night in about three weeks and I'm feeling it today! Dinner was a burger, fries, and beer, but the rest of the day was very good. I drank 30 oz of water and 34 oz of non-calorie drinks and tracked 12,976 steps. I have the gym scheduled on my calendar for this afternoon, my meals planned through dinner, and I'm looking forward to not setting my alarm and sleeping in for the first time in 17 days! 😴
05/04 181.6 lb 20,714 steps were tracked and that included 40 minutes on the elliptical at the gym. 30 oz of water and 22 oz of non-calorie drinks. I'll be taking the dog for a nice walk today and cleaning up the house, but otherwise I have a rare unscheduled weekend to enjoy.
05/05 181.6 lb I'm happy to be holding steady. 10,334 steps were tracked and I had 48 oz of water. I made eggplant Parmesan and froze half of it so we wouldn't have as many lurking leftovers. I limited myself to one garlic knot when I usually go for three and I kept to one mint julep as we watched the Kentucky Derby drama. 🐎
05/06 180.6 lb We enjoyed a leisurely Sunday with a trip to Lowe's to pick up a new house plant, a visit to Yankee Candle where we spent way too much, and a dinner out. I tracked 12,540 steps, had 48 oz of water, and went over my calories by about 300 due to our first ice cream outing of the season. They weren't planned, but they were tasty.
05/07 181.4 lb I tracked 11,606 steps and had 52 oz of water and non-calories drinks. Dinner was half a small pizza, panko green beans, and a flight of beer so I'm not surprised about the bump. I'm planning on going to the gym after school today and then I'll be eating a late dinner after wind ensemble rehearsal. Still hoping for something in the 170's, but I'll need to reign in my calories to see that by Sunday!
05/08 181.8 lb 20,416 steps were tracked, but to be transparent, I played a lot of percussion yesterday and didn't bother to take off my Fitbit. I burned 350 calories on the elliptical at the gym and had 67 oz water and non-calorie drinks. The scale hasn't been doing too much in the last week, but the pair of dress pants I'm currently wearing that have been snug since December are fitting nicely today.
05/09 181.0 lb 15,687 steps were tracked yesterday and I had 52 oz of water and non-calorie drinks. I was eating well until my boyfriend asked me to bring him home some French fries and those basically became dinner #2. I'm not unhappy about it because he hardly ever asks me to bring him anything and the scale still shows a loss. I'm off from work today and plan to walk the dog, do some yard work, and do level one from the 30 Day Shred.
05/10 181.0 lb 13,101 steps were tracked and 42 oz of water and non-calorie drinks. I missed my workout because we had a handyman stop by to assess some water damage under our bathroom sink. It's stained but solid, so there's no immediate need to fix it. I cleaned the charcoal grill and grilled my first steak ever while the dog played in the backyard. We enjoyed marinated flank steak, tomato salad, and grilled garlic bread for dinner and it's a meal I'm looking forward to making again this summer. I WILL be going to the gym this afternoon and I WON'T have more than one beer tonight. 🍺

05/03: 194.4 (Lost almost 2 pounds overnight and I’ve only gained 2.4 pounds during this diet break which is an awesome feat! Last night I did an upper body strength workout and had a chicken stir fry for dinner. Next Friday weigh in, I’ll be at a deficit so I can’t wait to see how long it takes to lose those pounds.)
05/04: 195.2 (I had a nice date night with the hubby at an Italian restaurant last night. I had a carb heavy pasta which was amazing! Ending the diet break right lol. I also did a 30 minute elliptical workout and a total body strength training workout.)

I had so many calories because of my 1 hour elliptical workout yesterday so I was trying to eat and by lunch, I was stuffed! Now it's time to go on a deficit! I am off from my working out for 1 week to rest my muscles of a tough workout plan.)

I had breakfast for dinner, egg and hashbrown casserole, and helped my hubby study for his macroeconomics final, so I'm glad I'm off the workouts this week.)
05/08: 194.4 (All this weight I gained during the diet break is starting to fall off once I got on my deficit again! I did not do a workout and had some beef shell pasta last night. I also went to bed earlier than usual. For some reason, every time I go on a workout break I am tired all the time!)
05/09: 193.8 (There it goes again! Just 1.8 pounds more until I reach the weight I was supposed to be maintaining at. I would say I'm pretty close and I wasn't sure how it would go. Last night I didn't do a workout and I made some delicious chicken pot pie for dinner as a comfort food. I needed it since it's been a year since I cut out my abusive parents/family after being diagnosed with PTSD. It's a reminder of how far I've come psychologically. Only good things moving forward to the next year of freedom!)
05/10: 193.2 (This is a nice Friday weigh-in! I have only 1.2 pounds to go from what I gained during maintenance. 5.2 pounds of water weight since Monday is not too bad! I did not workout yesterday and I had some rice and beef with broccoli from TJ's. YUM!)

I've been reading a bit about the dangers of obsessive tracking (which I've been doing for 4 years, even through gaining periods) and the imprecision of determining caloric content of foods and burn through exercise. So I'm experimenting this round with not counting calories but simply paying attention to what I eat, how much, and when. We'll see what happens.

5/3-159-Good way to start the round. I made bad food choices last weekend and did not exercise at all and it took me until Friday to get back in the swing of things. I have been walking my rear off and it’s paying off. I scheduled a massage for this morning and I am glad to be treating myself to it after this loss.
5/4-162-Not much walking and some heavy food. I will get out and do my long walk before I get in the car for the day.

Background -I have been on the diet/wreckless food abandon cycle since I was 14 years old. It's the classic yo-yo dieter story. This last January I decided to make this the last time I'm losing that same 20 pounds by putting a greater emphasis on maintenance. So when I reached maintenance after round 71 I continued to stick around because this group is what really keeps my head in the game. So thank you all and especially the O.P. grandma Jackie 💜

Having a really hard day. Just feeling emotionally empty. I don't know what's wrong with me, but it's got nothing to do with my weight or food so there's that. I just want to go to bed but I have to go back for a second shift in 3 hours. I'm going to try to take a nap. Thank God it's the weekend tomorrow. Just gotta power through.

I slept in this morning and feel so much better! My weight being down is probably just reflective of the later weigh in time. I have not been doing my yoga so my goal for today is to do one yoga video.

I slept 11 hours last night because I took a sleep aid. So I assume my weight drop is just water weight as I ate 300 over maintenance calories yesterday, including 100 grams of sour patch kids candy 😂

I actually had a great day yesterday, and since my weight has been trending down, I ate what I wanted, but mindfully. I ended up 400 over maintenance, but it's was all good! That's how weekends go! If my weight starts to trend up I will take Swift action 💪

Sorry forgot to post yesterday. I overslept, but still weighed in. Still haven't been keeping up with exercise. I have not been tracking as accurately due to more eating out but my weight is good so I guess I'm still doing things right in the food realm. I keep telling myself that I can eat more because my weight has been trending down, which helps me not freak out. Tonight I'm making fancy Ramen for my special friend and it's gonna be a high sodium day!

5/3 173.3 Down a little. Walked three miles yesterday after work. I had the bright idea that I was going to walk down to the creek to check the water level after 3 days of rain. Three days of rain means mud... slippery mud.
5/4 173.1 Still going down if only slightly. Good food day yesterday. My trail walk turned in to an indoor walk thanks to more kitten rain.
5/5 173.8 Attended my great nephew's 1st bday party yesterday. Food served: hot dogs, potato chips and cake. Even when I wasn't watching what I ate I would not eat hot dogs and potato chips. I hate both. So Saturday was a bad food day, good breakfast but a carrot cake cupcake for lunch. I worked in the yard for a couple of hours before I went to the party. I know I shouldn't have this much yard work to do but the first 3 weeks were tree/brush clearing. I was able to burn the first of the wood I cut myself in the firepit, probably the best part of the weekend.
5/6 174.3 Sunday wasn't much better food wise but I mowed, planted a ton of flowers, and got in a 2-mile walk. I was too tired to go much further and the trail was too muddy to try. I learned my lesson falling in the mud.
5/7 172.6 Whoosh!!! Almost 2 pounds overnight, adios agua! The weekend was actually mentally very taxing. Too much family, one friend got sick while on a 1 man road trip - he's 2 states away and I am helpless. Finally a reminder of my bf's cancer (technically in remission) which as he calls his early expiration date. He's losing weight but hasn't changed his diet. I ended up leaving work yesterday to "work from home" (yes I know how lucky I am to have this privilege). Which I did until 3:30, then I went for a walk. I had already committed to giving the roommate a ride home from work, so I stopped my walk took her home and went back for another 3 miles. Five miles total, in the woods, part of it in the rain. It's just what my soul needed. I am so happy to have found something that soothes me that's not ice cream/doughnuts/pepperoni pizza.
5/8 172.8 Slight jump. Did weights last night, might be a little water retention from that. Driving to StLouis today, driving back to KC tomorrow. I’ll walk tonight, looking for a new StL trail.
5/9 No Scale Good day yesterday. Walked 4 miles - fastest time yet 1hour and 3 minutes. I'm getting so close to 15-minute miles I can taste it. Way under on calories, so probably I'm up... hahahaha Driving home today and then a hair appt this afternoon.
5/10 172.3 Woohoo for Round low! Unexpected trip to Colorado this weekend. One of my best friends is in the hospital and not doing well. I have to go see him. No scale and three days of eating out Since it’s such a long drive (8.5 hours) I’ve scouted a few places to walk. Good juju for my friend, he has multiple blood clots in his lungs and heart and is in ICU. I’m not going to use this as an excuse to self harm which is what eating badly really is for me.15 -
I am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after. I have been participating in this challenge since Round 40.

May 3 - 175.2 - I started swim lessons last night again. I haven’t been in the water since my last set ended in August. This is a stroke improvement class and this instructor is probably the best I have had. Weight is funnily low today, not sure how much I trust it, but it was nice to see.
May 4 - 179.4 - I don’t believe my scales anymore. I have changed the battery and the fluctuations are still a bit insane. I guess I’ll have to break down and get another one. I was expecting to be a bit up today though because yesterday was not a good eating day.
May 5 - 176.2 - I had a good day yesterday. Stayed within my calorie goals and got a little exercise in.
May 6 - 175.6 - had a good day yesterday calories were a bit over and sugar intake was definitely higher than normal.
May 7 - 176.2 - another fairly decent day yesterday. I need to buy some groceries today and get other things besides carbs in the house.
May 8 - 176.4 - I was hungry all evening last night I don’t know why. I managed to stay within calories but it was a struggle.
May 9 - 175.0 - had a great eating day and got some exercise in!
May 10 - 176.4 - I don’t know how accurate my scale is, it also showed 169.4 this morning but I don’t trust it.

5/10 - 194.8 - Was in a day-long meeting yesterday.. There was pizza.. I resisted for and hour or so, but then gave in to one slice, but stuck to that one slice! Hopefully that doesn't start an upward trend going into the weekend; I guess we will see tomorrow!
