What things do you eat/drink that you dislike in the name of good health?

Yet another person in the nothing camp. There are some foods that I now eat less of than I prefer, but I don't eat anything I don't like.5

If it fits, I eat it. I don't eat stuff I dislike, I budget for the stuff I love.
That said, I don't *love* veggies but I do eat them for the sake of nutrition. But the ones I eat, I still like well enough. I've never forced myself to eat anything I hate. I didn't like carrots much so I at least found some spices to make them tasty.7 -

I’m in the nothing camp as well. For example, I hate mushrooms. Would not force myself to eat them for anything. Also don’t tend to do substitutes. I prefer to have less of the real thing than more of something masquerading as said thing. Example: if I want pasta, I’ll work it into my day and have some. I won’t have zucchini noodles, or whatever else, and try to convince myself that it tastes just like pasta.7

amen. while zucchini noodles are fine, they are certainly not a replacement for pasta.

oh how I would love to not be a picky eater. I'm nearly 30! For about 20 years of my life I followed the chips, fried egg and sausage routine of my family EVERY NIGHT. Both my nan and my uncle died of heart attacks. My mother nearly 400lbs is heading that way too. I can eat at a calorie deficit but it's not enough. I was so malnourished I was going bald. Since eating better and fending off pre-diabetes my hair has begun to grow back. After learning steamed helps retain most nutrients it's what I do. I always make sure I have food I really DO enjoy and I don't cut anything out. I still eat the occasional chocolate. Wont lie though, my palette is changing. I think I really have fended off the sugar monster as I not longer have cravings at all.
I'm not even as hungry as I used to be which is very strange to me. I'm struggling to actually eat more. I learned that in order to develop a new lifestyle I was gonna have to stop eating the fatty meals I was. IDK I know some of you think its crazy but I'm actually amazed at myself for being able to do this. Never in a million years would I have seen myself buying much less eating broccoli. It's a love-hate for sure haha!

Nothing. I don't eat things I don't like and if I start eating something and it's not satisfying I stop and eat something different.

I eat pasta and zucchini noodles. Pasta is delicious, especially when I make it from scratch. Zucchini noodles are no substitute for pasta, but sauted in olive oil, and sprinkled with parmesan cheese they make a delicious side dish.

I mean. I don't necessarily dislike vegetables but if they weren't good for you I'd probably not eat them and just eat donuts instead lol5

Lots of things. I'm surprised to hear so many people saying never. Salads and greens of all kinds especially. I'd never eat a leaf of any kind of lettuce, kale, cabbage, chard, spinach, etc ever again if I didn't think it was healthy. I dislike wheat/whole grain. I dislike quinoa, oats, all beans with the exception of refried in loads of fat and salt. I dislike lean meats like roasted chicken or broiled salmon and would only ever eat fried chicken/seafood and hamburger patties if lean protein weren't the "healthy" option.
Maybe it's that most of us replying that way have many fewer dislikes than you do? I actively enjoy most of the things you dislike.
I dislike seaweed salad, and mildly dislike lima beans. I don't eat meat/fish/seafood, and not much enjoying it had something to do with my becoming vegetarian 45 years ago, but I wouldn't say I totally dislike most of those things now. (There are a wider range among those that I do dislike: Most seafood (don't like iodine-y tasting things or the texture of things like oysters), giblets, beef tongue, and a few other things. Fowl, beef, and game are mostly OK and I'd eat them if not vegetarian. Pork I kind of miss.)
I think most of the things I dislike are "healthy". But I don't need to eat them to get good nutrition, with so many other tasty options available. Ditto for the meat/fish/seafood.2 -

I love oats to the extent that I buy oat milk even though I’m not vegan. Back in the bad old days when I thought nothing of eating a whole large pizza AND dessert, I once spent a summer virtually living on Caesar salad because it was so darn’ tasty. These days I get cravings for courgette.
Are you surprised that so many people actually like the taste of nutrient-rich foods?4 -
Nothing. I like a pretty big variety of foods, including the kinds of foods I think I need to eat, and to the extent I don't like a particular fruit or veg (I don't like grapefruit), there's always something else with similar micros I can eat.
I actually think it's important to eat a variety of veg, so rather than forcing yourself to eat broccoli and carrots (I love broccoli, like carrots) every day, I'd eat them less often and a variety of other veg on other days. I'd also recommend roasting, and personally I like both raw too.
Sometimes people think they should find a few "best foods" and eat only them, but that's not really how nutrition works.5 -
Why would I eat things I don't enjoy? I can get the nutrients I need from foods I like.
I don't eat meat, but I like other proteins.
I don't like carrots, but I like other veggies.
I don't like raspberries, but I like other fruit.
I don't like licorice, but I like other candy...
Anyway, you get the point.8 -
I ONLY eat foods/drinks what I really like and love now. The ONLY difference is I don't eat the foods I like and love like I did when I was obese and overweight. I eat whatever I want to (what I like and love), whenever I want to, only either MUCH smaller portions (example: if I want a whopper w/cheese meal or double Wendy's cheeseburger meal or some meal/dish that's high cals and/or super high calories...I'll have it--but eat half of the meal for lunch and the other half for dinner (or which ever meal I jolly well feel like having it--OR I'll have the entire big cal meal in one sitting, but make that my one meal a day (NOT including a dessert and/or late night snack), it's totally up to me and NOT because I have to (NOT following some kind of "diet or program" )or anything like that...but because I "get to" eat this way and I LOVE IT and have blasted almost 75lbs off of my mind/body and soul living this way too ) When I was obese and overweight, I would eat these kind of meals/things in one sitting and then eat whatever I wanted to all day and night--no matter how high the cals were, eating a lot all day and all night...completely not caring about CICO at all. Now, I also eat smaller portions of what I LOVE, but also less frequently throughout the day ( meaning I no longer eat stuff/snacking all day and all night)--I eat one or two meals per day (if I want to...if I want to eat three times per day or more, I will) not including a dessert and/or late night snack (which is usually (not always), if I plan it the day before and want to) where the majority of my cals come for the day), because I LOVE dessert and/or late night snacks--it's just that my "want to's have completely changed from when I was obese and overweight and out of control of myself in many areas of my life...including eating).
I have been trying/eating foods that I thought I hated when I was young (because of the way they looked or smelled), only to discover I LOVE them (like beets, split peas, cold lentils, seafood gumbo) and things like that.7 -
I don’t eat anything I don’t like. Life is indeed short and I don’t have tons of calories (relatively) to work with so I want to enjoy them all.
I agree about roasting your veggies! It makes such a difference. Try some good Pecorino Romano on top too!

My breakfast every morning is 0% Fage, chocolate PB2, protein powder (current favorite is Optimum Gold Standard double chocolate), and Trader Joe's fiber cereal. My usual portion is 290 calories, 39 grams protein, 12 grams fiber, chocolate creamy crunchy deliciousness.3 -

I'd distinguish this from rigidly refusing to eat things out of prejudice, which can be a thing. I do think it's good to experiment with new foods, and to give them a fair try . . . which can include trying them several times, prepared in different ways.
This and I will retry foods that I previously did not like on occasion to see if I like them now. I have liked, disliked, and then liked a few foods. Broccoli is one. I liked it okay in my 20's. I hated it for about 10 years to the point I didn't even like to smell it. Now some weeks I eat 2+ pounds of it.

Nothing, I occasionally think "I should eat more fruit" but I don't particularly like it, I prefer veggies and figure they'll cover off anything I'm missing out of from fruit.0

Nothing really...I like almost all the typical "healthy" foods and I love vegetables, fruit, etc.
BUT there are tons of things I do NOT eat (or eat very infrequently) that I'd kinda like to eat all the time. I'm not a person who has started living a healthier life and no longer desires Snickers bars and spoonfuls of frosting...I still like all that stuff! I mean, if greasy burgers were just as healthy for me as a big bowl of homemade chickpea, tomato and zucchini stew, I'd probably choose greasy burgers 8/10 of the time and eat takeout near-daily. Instead, I get a burger 1/10 of the time, if that.4 -

Fine. You don't have to eat a bowl of my vegetarian chili that I lovingly prepared with my own 2 hands. The batch has 18 ounces of diced mushrooms in it. I have always had it as a side dish so the only protein in it is the beans which is why I use the mushrooms which keeps it pretty low cal.
After a lifetime of hate and yet wanting to like I have figured out brussel sprouts for myself. I like them raw and sliced super thin and mixed in a salad. I have tried 100 configurations and that is the only thing that works for me.

Brown rice instead of white, lime instead of dressing, lettuce because it is low cal filler. Lowe sugar items...well because they are lower sugar (but I have my limits). I prefer beef but opt for other proteins because it’s not good for me to eat steak every day.0

Brocolli and spinach are pretty much my favorite foods. 😁 For me it's most protein sources I don't really care for. I don't eat meat but tonight I had two Gardein fake chicken patties with my dinner, and I have a protein shake most days. I don't really care for it but what are you gonna do - have to eat some protein. 🤷♀️1
