I lost 37kg over the last 10 months. Over the last 2-3 weeks, several ladies at the gym I go to approached me to tell me how well I look and they admire me. This morning another woman came to me and asked me: "Are you aware how much weight you lost?" Her word choice was hilarious but I appreciated it anyway. It just made my day18

Finally got up the confidence to try a harder grade climb than I’ve done before and I did it! Felt very confident and in control, despite (because?) it was a very dynamic climb for short me, no falls. My husband thought I was in trouble at one point when I had to get my left foot up near my hip and I placed it badly and it slipped, but I was confident in my right foot/handholds so I was surprised that he thought it was a tough part for me—apparently I didn’t!14

I was able to get through my workout with no modifiers. Also got into my mini-goal jeans last week.15

Just purchased a house which we are renovating. So every spare minute between 6am and midnight is spent there, trying to get it ready before we have to move.
So I'm a bit tired.
However, I have managed to drag my sorry self out of the house by 5am every morning to go to the gym.
Yesterday, I forgot to set my alarm. I woke up late (by 40 minutes). My car was at the other house as DH and I came home in the same car.
I was really very happy to stay in bed and forgo the gym. I mean, it's just once, right?
But I decided that late or not, I had to get up and go. Because I know, that for me, the slippery slope starts with missing one session. Next thing you know, you've wasted your whole month's gym membership money.
So I got up.
I cycled to the gym.
I did my workout (and increased all the weights).
I didn't regret not staying in bed. But I would definitely have regretted staying in bed.31 -
^^Mad Props to @Madwife2009 this is so impressive and inspirational at the same time.....3

Awesome post, @Madwife2009. You are so right. Never a regret about about dragging my carcass to the gym.3

Finally got my splits today.15

Just ran 1 mile in 8.39 minutes. Super happy, even if it was on a treadmill. Might have been extra fast because I was running off a terribly stressful day yesterday, but that's why I run.20

My engagement ring is back on after a year!18

I'm doing water aerobics 2-3 times a week. This is monumental because I don't exercise...like ever16

The other day my other half’s car was looked in his works depot. He asked me to slide under the 6ft gate to unlock it for him, I thought I’m never gonna fit but I did it easily, would never have been able to do this before losing weight. Felt very mission impossible lol, it’s made me smile all day15

This! This! This!!!! I have an unlimited monthly yoga and Pilates membership. It’s like a mind game to get the “per class”cost down to $3 or $4 per class. I apologized to the owner one time, and she said,”Are you kidding? Look at you! This is why I do it!” I love my yoga studio. ❤️
NSV today was someone at yoga asking me, “Hey, aren’t you that woman that (the other gym) posts inspirational pictures of?” I didn’t know whether to be pleased or mortally embarrassed. I knew there was some stuff on their social media-it’s a very “family” gym so they post pics of everyone- but it’s just unexpected to think anyone would actually pay attention to posts about me.15 -

Love those times when something happens that keeps you grinning all day. No one gets enough of those.

Completely avoided processed food on my last shopping trip. Felt good too.14

I've got a couple of silly ones
- My friend convinced me to join a kickball league at the start of summer because he needed more girls. This last game I got on base every time I kicked and even scored once! Turns out you can sprint faster when you're carrying less weight and working out more, haha.
- Some of my friends and I went for a backwoods-y hike this weekend and ended up at a spot where we had to use a rope to climb up a cliff. The guys were concerned about some of the girls and made sure to help, but when I got up to climb the rope they weren't worried at all. I still don't consider myself athletic, but it felt good that my guy friends did19 -
I can bend over at the waist to pick things up off the floor and it isn't a huge effort. It also doesn't immediately flare up my sciatica anymore like it used to!19

The same thing happens over and over in slightly different ways. On Friday I wanted to go to the gym after work but forgot my clothes. I had a t-shirt and sports bra on but needed shorts. I asked my bf if he had some shorts XL or L I could wear. He pulled out these shorts that were L but looked small to me. I said they won't go over my hips. He said just try... and they fit. He laughed and said I told you. I can no longer look at an item of clothing and have any confidence that I know it will fit or won't fit. It's unsettling but awesome.12

I wear a 32 band now in bras. (: My upper body is my "stubborn" area so to see this much loss off of my ribs (started at a 38) is amazing. I still definitely have the chest, though, and if anything they're proportionally bigger now. O.o15

I have 3 from san diego pride this weekend
- i wore two super revealing outfits without even once feeling insecure about my weight
- i had multiple people tell me i had amazing legs
- got hit on by a reeaallly hot guy while dancing, won’t be forgetting those compliments for a while19 -
Went out for a walk last evening, even though there were some storm clouds off in the distance. First mile 16:02. Second mile 15:43. Headwind came up, so the third mile was 16:59. Still pleased, as my pace has been picking up over the last couple of weeks. All sub 16 minute miles tomorrow!18

Ah yours just made me realise I had one this weekend too! I was at an event this past weekend with a bunch of friends and acquaintances in their late twenties (I'm in my mid-forties). It was really hot that day so I went with a short shift dress and ended up with a bunch of compliments from 'the kids' about what great legs I have and how fit I am. I think the subtext was supposed to be '... for your age' but I'll take it anyway, particularly because the compliments were coming from some uniformly stunning Mediterranean girls whom it would have been really painful to be in summer event photos with 55 pounds ago!
Didn't get hit on while dancing though, so well done @lucadeangiles11 -
Hubby & I went to Topgolf this weekend, I haven't swung a golf club in 2 years because we just haven't had time. I was hitting very well and I'm convinced that the weight lifting I've been doing has helped me have better control over my swing as I was quite consistent all night.12

Last few times going to supermarket I have avoided buying biscuits (my binge trigger). One time I even went in with the intention of buying some and managed to talk myself out of it.
One biscuits leads to whole packet, especially chocolate ones...16 -

Great pace Steve!!!! Its that leg/glute work you do! Keep it going!2 -
Way to go, everyone. I just finished reading through this whole thread. I have no idea how long it took me, but it was very inspiring to read everyone's accomplishments. You all are AWESOME!
My NSV; Yesterday was day 31 of walking at least 5 miles a day to reach over 11,000 steps. I bought a Fitbit on April 20, 2019 and at that time I was walking around 2,000 steps a day. I set my goal for 5,000 to push myself. Since then I have walked over 340 miles. Might have to try this running thing everyone keeps talking about.
Keep it up everyone!!25 -
The buffest lady at the gym (she has absolutely awesome arms & shoulders) made a point to come over and tell me she sees me there all the time and has noticed my back muscles are really looking good 😊 definitely made my morning!17

The length of time of my potty party when the scale did not reflect my consistency, discipline and commitment. I missed one 55 minute walk and then I jumped back in with my AM Yoga before work and Hiit class that evening. That's a victory because the old me would have thrown in the towel and let the number on the scale dictate my mood. Not anymore! I have had several comments from my gym community about how I am getting stronger and comments from friends, family and church family that the workouts are paying off.
Onward!10 -
Order this GORGEOUS fall/winter sweater from a label I've never tried. The size chart warned that this sweater runs SMALL, so order the next size up. I was soooo tempted to order a large, but ordered a medium (my size)...got it today and it looks so terrific on me, BETTER than it looked on the model (well...just a cute anyway) . Then fear HIT/tempted me as I was looking at it on me in mirror, because it fits super loose (looks GOOD super loose on me too and will look fabulous with skinny jeans and/or leggings)--I thought to myself "BLAST" I had indeed ordered the size large and thought to myself I hope they will still have a medium because I love the sweater and this one is super cute, but fitting large on me. Looked at the tag...AND IT IS A MEDIUM. Hooooooboy, that made/makes me feel like a winner. YAY!13

I went up on weights this week at the gym! A big buff guy did the leg machines before me and I raised his weight by 40-50lbs, it was awesome!18

NewLifestyle, I know how you feel, I bought a dress a while back and it is a large and wished I had bought a medium because it is too big but I dont mind one bit! Good feeling
