Yes, like cream puffs, jelly-filled donuts, Twinkies.

You like your desserts a bit messy?

I would take my gift back, imply that it was very expensive, and demand the rest of the plate for it.

Nice. You have me rofl. Excellent. :)

I would have took both 50 dollar gift cards out. Its they're fault their crap at catering for parties!

I think you could have been a little more considerate.

I think people are blowing this out of proportion a bit......but that is their right.

I wouldn't have eaten more than one puff, and I wouldn't have told a guest off for eating more than one puff. Both are a little rude, but neither should be a big deal.

Let me get this straight. The hostess invited you to bring a gift to HER at her house to celebrate her birthday. She invited 40 people. She spent less on the party than one gift, so part of that gift and all the other 39 or so gifts were profit to her.
    I’ve been doing this wrong.
  • I love that this cream puff conversation is still a thing! :D I also find it tacky of the host to have mentioned anything... embarrassing your guests, bravo *eye roll*

I really and truly hate cream puffs so I thereby allot you my personal ration of cream puffs, thus your hostess was obviously rude AF 'cause you had my permission to eat enough cream puffs for 2.

I got them two 50 dollar gift cards. After such incident, decided to take out one of the cards.

For two $50 gift cards, you paid for those cream puffs and should have raked the rest of them into your purse and left.

Long live the cream puff thread.

Do you still think about them every time you eat a cream puff? Have they invited you back? So many questions. 🤔😁

I too having found the back story now need to know... the rest of the story. (Said in my best Paul Harvey Voice)

How are you going to invite people over then dictate how much they can eat?... that’s so tacky. Especially over cream puffs.

I think as the host it is your obligation to ensure that you have more than AMPLE amounts of food, the concern should be what to do with all of the extra's!
