Is this offending?

You get invited to a bday party. You're just eating a few cream puffs and just enjoying yourself. Then the party host comes to you and tells you to eat less so others can have some of the cream puffs also. Would you be offended?

I mean....are you camped out by the cream puffs chowing down? Is there just a small plate? I would most likely not take offence unless the host meant offence.5

They might've been legitimately afraid of running out of food, not insinuating you were being a pig or anything by eating a few cream puffs4

40 ish guests. 30 puffs. You had about 5 but that's all you've had at this party.3

I would take my gift back, imply that it was very expensive, and demand the rest of the plate for it.20

I would be offended. How would I suppose to know that the host is a cheapskate that only made a small amount of food?14

that is the least of my problems. I usually get 'Im sorry, who are you and why are you at this party?'37

Should have grabbed the plate and walked out..19

I got them two 50 dollar gift cards. After such incident, decided to take out one of the cards.40 -
I'd probably be more embarrassed then offended. Then I'd find a way to make her feel super guilty for even telling me that, the nerve! I would NEVER embarrass a guest at my party. Buy enough food if you're hosting a party b itch.20

Yeah unless they were strapped for cash. But in that case, maybe better prior planning would've caused them to choose a different food to serve, like ramen noodles.12

I would have licked the rest of the cream puffs and walked out.18

Yea. Exactly how I like my men: 60 year old females.7 -

The host should have bought more cream puffs. I'm Italian and Jewish and it's in my blood to overdo food. But I find most people don't have enough. If you know you're going to have 40 guests, you buy (or make) enough for everyone plus extra. It's ridiculous to think people will only eat one cream puff ...7

That's a very classist statement. Very jerk move considering you are "so against the caste sytem," yet here you are telling poor people they can't have social events. Not cool dude.3 -
