Day/Weight/Comment
08/01 134.0 Back from a conference trip with lots of eating out and drinking (and let the food logging slip because was afraid to count up the calories, but realize that is how it is so easy to derail and not get back on). First day back after long day of flying yesterday and weight is up 2.2 pounds from last weigh in on the 27th so not my best start to a round. I tend to gain a lot of water weight flying and expect I will get back to where I was before the trip pretty quickly but may need 2 more rounds to get to STG of getting into the 120's. Felt great to get back to the gym - step class and weights today (which may not help with water retention either!) but was able to increase weights on bench press, deadlifts and squats so trip did not seems to have an impact on strength! NSV: At least I am below the weight MFP predicted based on food diary for today!

Back again! Saw 141.7 last round once so I would like to get back down to that this round. Goals are to stay under 145.0 and drop my 10 day average again. I would also like to see a new low, but the last round I dropped 4 pounds and bounced around a lot. So this round I would be happy just to stabilize at 141/142.

My journey β¦ ("I May Not Be Where I Want To Be, but Iβm Not Where I Use To Be!")In 2003 Weighed over 600 lbsMy highest weight was 611 in 2003. Weight in 2004 before weight loss surgery was 580. Lowest weight after surgery was 302 in 2007. "I May Not Be Where I Want To Be, but Iβm Not Where I Use To Be!"
In 2005 Weighed under 400 lbs
In 2007 lowest weight after surgery 302lbs
I joined MFP on March 27, 2010 weighing in at 388 pounds. I was re-gaining weight and stumbled up on it while trying to get back on track. I was determined never to see 400+ on that scale again for me.
I have been morbidly obese all my life. I have a lifetime of mental and physical scars from obesity. In October 2004 I had Gastric Bypass surgery. WLS (Weight Loss Surgery) was the best gift that I could and did give to myself.
Between 2008 and 2010 I gradually gained back 80 of almost 300 pounds lost initially after weight loss surgery. I never reached my goal weight of 200 pounds. I still managed to keep off over 65 percent of the weight I lost which is very good and I am very proud of my accomplishments since 2004. It has literally changed my life for the better on all levels. I am here to lose re-gained weight and to reach my initial goal weight. I am in no hurry. I am taking this one day at a time and I am in it for the long haul.
Surgery did not fix the head. It is a good tool and the best gift I have given to myself, but it was not the easy way out as many people think. Once the honeymoon period is over after the WLS it is up to the patient to keep the weight off.
On August 29, 2011-- I was admitted to Intensive Out Patient Eating Disorder Program to learn how to manage my binge eating disorder effectively. The program is wonderful indeed and will be instrumental in me reaching all of my goals. The focus of this program was how to eat and not diet. Weight loss was not a goal of the program. I actually gained 20 pounds in program. But I had to get thru a lot of stuff and my the time I was released I had stopped gaining. I was discharged from program on December 3, 2011.
My tool is still working for me today. My head is still the issue. SO the struggle continues. I will never beat myself up again. I fight the fine fight faithfully and positively everyday. Because that is what will get me to my goals one day. Even though it may not show up on the scale every day -- Everyday I make progress one way or another just by showing up, waking up and trying.
Giving up is not an option for me. Perseverance, Patience, & Positive thinking will help me reach my goalsβ¦β¦ and the same is true for you too!! We have the power within us.:flowerforyou: SW 373.4 - 1/3/19 GW 299 - 12/31/19 :flowerforyou:Round 64 - SW 373.4 EW 369 (-4.4)

01/08: 167.8: Goals: π» Have been steadily discarding holiday baggage since Saturday. Slowly but surely, it's shifting.
Round 83: (Last round I posted for)Fri 12/07: 163.6: Goals: β Still holding steady.Round 82:
Sat 13/07: 163.5: Goals: β We finally got our we boat back in the water, and the new engine is so quiet, and no nasty fumes either. Result! Now all we need is a few warm sunny days to enjoy it.
Sun 14/07: 164.2: Goals: Meh!!!
Mon 15/07: 166.2: Goals: There are no excuses.I π choose instant gratification over sensible eating at a family buffet yesterday. I haven't done that for some time. It did not go unpunished. My new healthy body rebelled big time. I spent an wretched evening feeling bloated and uncomfortable, with an extra big a big kick up the a** when I stepped on the scale this morning. Now, I know I haven't put on 2lbs of weight overnight, (though I may well have with the food I ate), and a lot of it is probably be water weight. But enough is enough, and too much is just plain daft. We all do daft things from time to time. The trick is to put it behind you and move on. I am choosing to have a few reset days of light eating to see if I can redress my blowout yesterday. Though if the truth be told, I have been sliding most of the week. I know this is only a blip. Nothing gets in my way when I'm on a mission.Goals: β Later: Noticed I had the wrong date for my post this morning, so Iβve fixed it. Hopefully back on track.
Tue 16/07: 164.0: Goals: β π Sticking close to my goals has paid off. It must have been water weight!
Wed 17/07: 164.2: Goals: β Normal fluctuation. Still keeping strong.
Thu 18/07: 163.9: Goals: β normal fluctuations.
Fri 19/07: 164.1: Goals: β Normal fluctuations!
Sat 20/07: 163.8: Goals β
With muscle %age improving, I'm happy that the scale is not increasing. I have no scale this week as I am on holiday, so I will give Round 84 a miss. Will be back with you for Round 85.Tue 02/07: 162.4: Goals: β Just trying to hold it steady.Daily Goals
Wed 03/07: 162.5: Goals: β
Thu 04/07: 162.5: Goals: β Had a busy day being foster mum to my daughter's 2 fur babies. Jack is very used to being with us, and is no trouble. Sydney is fairly new, and very nervous, and we haven't really got to know him until this week. DH is the doggie person in our house, but Sydney won't go near him, so I'm it! Worse than having a toddler in the house.
Fri 05/07: 162.5: Goals: β Lots of walking and gardening today.
Sat 06/07: 162.5: Goals: β Lots of garden work done today. Perfect weather with a bit of a breeze to take the edge off the heat.
Sun 07/07: 162.6: Goals: β Normal fluctuation.
Mon 08/07: 162.5: Goals: β Another plateau. π
Tue 09/07: 163.6: Goals: β Drat! The weekend caught up with me!
Wed 10/07: 163.4: Goals: β *sigh* Keeping on keeping on!
Thu 11/07: 163.6: Goals: β I was quite disappointed with this result until I noticed my muscle %age has increased since last week. I have been working hard on lower body strength for a couple of weeks. Also yesterday, DH asked me if I had lost weight again. It just goes to show that Progress isn't always about the scale dropping. Looking forward to the next round, and making more progress! πFood

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Day/Weight/Comment
08/01 187.2 β Off to a good start with a nice little drop. Busy morning, so I only had time for coffee before class. On the way home, I stopped for gas and then at the farm stand to pick up a few pots of zinnias to refresh the garden beds. I was ravenous by the time I got to my momβs for lunch. Fortunately, I had some extra calories to spend. Goals met today!

Hi all, this is my third round and excited to see where this next round takes me. I first started my MFP journey in 2015. I dropped down to 138 pounds and went into maintenance. I was fine for awhile until my world went crazy and exercise was no longer a priority. After putting on over 20 pounds, I got back to working out and calorie counting diligently. I have IBS and no gallbladder, so I stick to a low fat diet. I am also hypothyroid which makes losing weight at times challenging. I keep on trucking because the pot of gold at the end of π is health and an increased life expectancy.

UG: to love my body; even with stretch marks, cellulite and loose skin. Gain muscle and lower body fat.
Day/Weight/Comment
08/01 127.2lbs. Weight is up from yesterday, but I refuse to stress over it unless the scale goes up ten pounds or something crazy. I got my strength training in and will take a walk to end my day. Lesson Iβm learning: donβt sweat the small gains.

1: DNW. Was in a hurry to get out the door this morning, and we're out of town until tomorrow night. I did ok with food today. I have a huge deficit because we did a lot of walking, but my carbs were high. I've got plans for a Jucy Lucy tomorrow, so I've got plan my day around that. Lots of walking again though!
