Going to give this a go again and I already feel good. Have been back about 8 days and so far so good. Lost a bit of weight already.
I returned after a few years too! You can do it!7 -
My most recent nsv was friday!!! My fiance hugged me and my 5 year old wanted in on the hug. He told me it was the first time in over a year he was able wrap his arms around me and my lo 💙15

As part of my get-healthy plan, I walk. I've been walking around 50 miles a month. On Thursday evening my left leg started hurting after a walk. No biggie had a normal night otherwise. Friday I woke up and it hurt to get out of bed or anytime I had to move it. After a little internet research and talking to a long-time runner I believe I have pulled my hamstring. Not a bad injury and very common but the #1 treatment is rest. After spending Saturday feeling sorry for myself thinking this is it, I can't exercise I'm screwed.
My NSV is that I realized Sunday morning that was just another excuse and researched ways to exercise around the injury. I'm NOT letting this stop me from maintaining my healthy lifestyle. I will be pm a stationary bike or the rowing machine. It would be so easy to fall off the wagon - I got a bum leg16 -
I started wearing some activewear pants from Costco (regular sizes from Costco!!)
I plopped down on my son's bed and asked if he liked my pants. He said ya ya, then Hey those are my pants.
We are about the same height, but he weighs 100 lbs, his pants how ever are 30x30, and he has to belt them to keep them up. I believe that is the smallest size Costco carries. I warned him that when he shoots up those pants are mine, lol.11 -
I had to tighten my apple watch band. I know that sounds crazy but that thrilled me.17

I walked into a candy store, realized the smell of sugar is giving me a really bad craving, told my friend I'd be across the hallway in another store and calmly walked out. I walked out of a candy store without buying anything.
A few hours later I was still craving something sweet so I bought diet soda. Not the healthiest stuff on the planet, but it's still 10 calories per bottle vs getting easily 1000 calories of candy.27 -
My SO works away all week....... he made it to the house on Friday before I was done at the barn, and when I walked into the house in my riding pants, he hugged me and said "wow, you look skinny!"22

My NSV is not my own. My youngest son and I have been lifting every Saturday. He set a goal late last year that he would take his bench press from 135 pound 1rm to 225 pound 1rm by Summer 2019. This past Saturday he lifted 225 pounds. I am proud of his accomplishment and proud that our training together got him to that point.36

New runner. I tried C25K a couple of years ago and had to stop due to pain in my knees and ankles.
Trying again, doing some things differently. So far so good, no pain anywhere, knock on wood. I can jog about 3 miles straight now. Working on building up my strength to run uphill.20 -
Mostly as a prequel to this journey but -- I quit smoking. As someone who smoked since they were 12, this has got to be one of the biggest victories.
Now I'll have actual lung capacity to do cardio, as opposed to shredding what little I had haha39 -
Several NSVs this week.
1.) I ran 5.005k this morning. I’ll be able to run the 5k path around the Aasee with my daughter when I go see her for Christmas!!!!! I never ever ever thought I’d be able to run 5k. Running with her will be amazing. She has no memory of me as anything but obese, and was shocked when we saw her in April. First thing she did at the airport was try to pick me up, lol.
2.) A couple of friends offered to go shopping with me. I need this so bad. I have awful taste and I need clothes that aren’t flowy tunics or baggy shirts.
3.) in my futile attempt to shop by myself, I slunk in to Talbots. I still feel like an interloper who doesn’t belong in these places. I always expect someone to shout “You there! You know you can’t wear that! Step away from the dressing room!”
At 5’7” and 147#, if I can fit comfortably into a size four Talbots skirt, then “vanity sizing” is definitely a thing. (Yay for weight training! )
4.) I’ve been to two social gatherings I usually badly overeat at. I bought a giant pot of hot air popcorn to both, and stayed out of the goodies. Someone on another thread said eating is habit, not hunger. True! As long as I had a pile of popcorn to munch on I was perfectly satisfied. I actually came back several hundred calories under goal from one event. That’s never happened before.18 -
So I went to a Latin dance club with my friends this weekend and this guy started dancing with me who was really good (I'm basic at best) and at one point he picked me up off the ground! Like had me up over his shoulder! My friend looked over and her jaw dropped. All I could think was, "put me down, I'm going to break your back!!" But then I realized I'm not back-breaking size anymore!
He also made the comment later, "I can tell you're a beginner, but you keep up really well so you're fun to dance with." I'm grateful to be in the shape I'm in to enjoy dancing with an expert30 -
Getting to put my summer cotton and linen clothes in the dryer in the hope they shrink! No more worrying about what can't go in the dryer!17

Pretty sure the not exactly unattractive cashier at the grocery store flirted with me the other day.
I mean, he gave me the BOGO 50% off that had expired on some lotion when I asked if it was still on sale or not (the sale tag on it was gone but not on its shelf neighbor so wasn't sure) and managed to work in he was divorced during the ensuing checkout banter. And a sticker, lol.

Scoring a zero on my cardiac calcium scan.18

Being down a clothing size and the ability to run a mile nonstop. I've been a walk/jog/run type for the last 3 months, switching it up based on my comfort level. I'm starting to love running and look forward to the next milestone ;-)15

The usual Thursday workout. Deadlifts and bench presses. That went fine.
Also did 20 reps pushing the prowler on the turf. I usually do these every minute on the minute, but I was gassed and had to rest a couple of times. No matter - I did not stop until I had done all 20.
