Ok, back for my 2nd round. Lost .9 in my first round, but fluctuation was 2.8 over the course of the 10 days. Canβt explain it all, but hoping to learn from it for this round. See I am already up 0.3 over last roundβs end.

Why?! Rode several miles on my bike Saturday and walked most of Sunday. And logged in everything I ate. So, why?! Never went over my allotted 1,200 calories for a day. Have to assume for now trend will be down again this round. Just frustrating. Trying really hard to be βgoodβ in a sustainable way that could last long term.

Sure this isnβt real - wasnβt very hungry yesterday for some reason. Nonetheless, Iβll take it for today and see where things go in the next few days. Always focused on not totally denying, just making better food choices the majority of the time. Know adding in strength training is on the to do list. Honestly not sure going to the gym is a reasonable goal with my long work hours and a family. Looked up βoffice exercisesβ and will see if I can incorporate some of these into my day. And Happy Birthday to me!

Hmmmm. This doesnβt make sense again. Sure this is temporary, but donβt know why. Yes, have been consciously eating and limiting snacking, but had nice bday dinner out last night and a glass of wine. Chose meal wisely and avoided bread in the table, but still had a nice date with my husband and enjoyed the experience. Assume numbers will go back up somewhat. Going to plug away and see what happens . . . .

Official bday family celebration last night. Actually ordered well. Problem was the kids got pizza and didnβt love it. Fancy restaurant pizza. But I liked it, especially all the crust they left! And had to have some of the dessert ordered for the table, even though I didnβt want and and actually am not a dessert person generally (more salt/chips obsessed). My current desire to lose some pounds and get more fit is personal to me. Didnβt want to answer to all at the table why I wasnβt partaking in my own bday dessert. About to start a week with no kids while they are both visiting my parents. Not sure how this will go - not tempted by them but my husband will want to go out most night because we can. Letβs see how this goes . . . .

8/11 169.1 I didn't post this weekend though I did track. Foodwise I was ok except for Saturday I was over by 300 or so calories. Basically at maintenance. Which is no biggie really other than the fact that I have somehow pulled my hamstring. I can't walk. I haven't walked since Thursday. My leg hurts when I do walk... My mental health state misses walking already. Sharing your house with two people is challenging, more so when one can't go upstairs or drive so they're in the living/kitchen/bathroom 24/7 and the other has mental health challenges. I did spend a lot of time with my great-niece. Please see the pic of miss Sassypants watching Toy Story and at the park with my convalescing friend. We ALL needed out of the house. Too bad it was so miserably hot even at 10:00 a.m.
8/12 168.2 Some of the water gone. The best way to get over this hamstring thing is rest. No walking for at least 2 weeks. I have been doing some research on exercises you can do with the injury. The two that are options for me are the stationary bike and the rowing machine. I've never tried the rowing machine I might give it a whirl over the next couple of weeks. I'm proud of myself that I'm not letting this stop my exercise schedule. Yes, it's going to jack with my schedule and I HATE that (OCD has many forms ) but it's not an excuse to sit on my booty. I won't lie the Saturday late-night muffin MIGHT have been a little self-pity but I woke up with the right mind-set on Sunday.
8/13 168.0 Right direction. No gym last night, I had a hair appointment. The pain in my leg has already lessened. Good on calories though I miss the extra I get with exercise. It's been the hottest days of the year so I couldn't have walked outside anyway. Last night at 9:02 my weather app said feels like 100 degrees Fahrenheit. WOOHOO, I'm ready for the Ber months already.
8/14 169.1 Why up? My only guess is the new exercise is causing me to retain water. I rode the stationary bike last night for just under an hour. I was able to get my heart rate up and actually kind of liked it. Tuesdays are normally weight night so I think I'll stick to that and avoid anything that stresses my legs. It's so easy to get discouraged when you really think - it should be down today and instead it's up. The Water Retention Variable... a daily weigher's arch-nemesis.
8/15 168.3 Back down. I rode the bike instead of weights. I wanted to do an hour since I wimped out the night before. I think I could do an hour Plus. I may try on Saturday when I have more time and people aren't at home waiting for me to cook dinner. I'll do weights tonight. I had my days all mixed up yesterday, I thought it was Tuesday. I'm glad it's Thursday and am ready for Friday. I'm tired. BF is taking his youngest to college this weekend and his oldest will go back next Friday. It will be so weird to have both gone.
8/16 167.4 Down again, I'll take it! I was low on calories yesterday, I wasn't trying just wasn't hungry enough. I wish there were more days like that . I spent my hour at the gym doing weights and avoiding things that would involve my hamstring. It only cut out a couple of machines. I will be back on the bike this weekend. It kind of makes me want to ride a real bike. Maybe when the weather cools off I'll rent a bike. That's something different that I use to love. Happy Friday!!!
8/17 166.4 This is the lowest weight in 16 or 17 years. Itβs water weight gone because I ate at maintenance yesterday and didnβt work out. I was expecting no loss or a small gain so Iβm thrilled. Itβs rainy this morning, Iβm going to sort thru clothes that need to go. I know I need to do some fall/winter clothes shopping and I ainβt mad.
8/18 167.3 Back up a little but Iβm ok with it. I wasnβt that great yesterday. My only workout was house work and I had 4 delicious cookies that Iβm not sorry I ate. Usually my have one rule works for me but those pecan sandy like butter thumbprint cookies with caramel in the middle and chocolate drizzled over are tooo good. Iβm going to ride the bike at the gym today. An hour is the minimum, I have 3 extra cookies (600 or more calories) to work off! Enjoy this summer Sunday.

08/13 299.8 First thank you everyone!! Iβm far from the finish line, but itβs so nice to hit this point in my journey. Itβs been a long time since Iβve been under 300. My next big goal is 250, that will be my lowest weight in about 20 years.
Iβm not surprised by a bounce, Iβm just happy that itβs not higher. Yesterday I was hungry and craving high calorie, high sodium foods. I knew that I wasnβt thirsty so I ended up opting for some high sodium soup that I could fit into my calories. I felt a lot better afterwards. My nsv yesterday was listening to what my body needed without going on a binge.
08/14 299.8 Iβm okay with maintaining Iβm still retaining some water from the high sodium day. Iβm also a little stiff and sore this morning from deep cleaning and rearranging my kitchen. Lastly Iβm still waiting for tom to show, but Iβve had a few of the signs that it should arrive in a few days. I struggled a lot less yesterday and even turned down ordering dinner in because of a stressful afternoon and instead stayed on plan. Iβm really proud of myself for not turning to food and to deal with my stress.
08/15 299.4 Hopefully Iβll keep dropping Iβd love some more distance from 300.
08/16 298.6 I was out and about yesterday and will probably be again today or tomorrow. Itβs been a long time since Iβve been out and about, I hated being seen and hated how much effort it took just to get to the car. Because of this I planned a HUGE dinner because I hadnβt had much earlier in the day. However as I was measuring it out I stopped at about half my planned portions of everything going I think this is more than enough. In the past I would have easily eaten three times the amount I had planned to serve myself. As a result after dinner I was under 1200 calories for the day, so I treated myself to an ice cream bar that was well within my calories and macros.
All in all it was a very good day. My nsv was walking around Walmart, I hadnβt walked in a store for at least three years.
08/17 298.8 Tom finally arrived this morning, only 10 days late. This means Iβll drop some more soon, get my energy levels back up, and have less overly hungry days, at least until next month.

8/11-168-I had a giant burrito after all of the hot sweaty yard work yesterday. I am excited to be starting a new round!
8/12-170-I am glad itβs Monday. It is so much easier to eat healthier during the week.
8/13-167-Good food choices, no chips or a drink while I made dinner.π³My friend and I went horseback riding this morning and now Iβll do half of my big walk and start in on the laundry, housework and quilting......itβs supposed to be hot.
8/14-166-Iβve been eating my big meal at lunch and just having a protein shake at dinner and I feel so much better late in the evening without heavy food in me. Iβll get my 7 mile walk in and hopefully some yoga.
8/15-165-I hope I can keep the downward roll. I will walk, quilt and swim today. Later I will go help start setting up a fundraiser.
8/16-165-At least I stayed there.While we were setting up at the fundraiser, someone came around with a big tub of βevilβ deep fried tortillas and I took one and ate it....why? I would have weighed a pound less this morning without that crap in me!
8/17-166- Lots of physical work setting up at a fundraiser yesterday, in the heat. It was nice that they fed us, but it was salty. Iβm off to set up more today and work at the fundraiser tonight. Itβs for a wonderful cause, itβs just so hot, whew!
8/18-170-After church this morning, we will go help take down the fundraiser. I havenβt been in my normal routine of big walks and a protein shake for dinner, just long hot days on my feet and odd food. Today is a good day to re-coop!8 -

Whaaaaa??? Delayed reaction? Whatever it is, Iβm pretty ticked off at myself. Sigh. But I have been eating better the past few days, so I have to think this is a fluke. Weβll see. Anyway, itβs a beautiful morning, so Iβm off to a section of the river greenway I havenβt walked this summer. Then I plan to dig out old icky mulch piled on too thick by previous owners and replace with good stuff. Rain maybe later, so weβll see. Life is good even with a few unwanted pounds. Iβve been talking about my garden for the past couple of months and thought Iβd show you the view from my patio yesterday β at the beginning of June, this was just grass and river rock.

08/11 - 236.3 - was not as strict as I wanted to be yesterday; I didnβt log so Iβm not 100% sure the βdamageβ but this is all about balance and being consistent when you canβt be perfect.
08/12 - DNW - skipped the scale intentionally this morning, didnβt want to make my Monday even Monday-y-er because of the fluctuations. Today I was spot on with eating though for the first time in a while. Who knew making good choices throughout the day would make it easier to stay under my target calories Lolol!
08/13 - 238.7 - π; still plan on making today a good one.

08/15 - DNW - choosing not to weigh for the next several days. Several work functions this week - I tried to make good choices (and made better than I would have otherwise) but not the best in water and wine π I feel the water retention/bloat all the way down to my feet. Gym in the AM. Still checking in even though I am skipping the scale for my own sanity.
08/16 - DNW - water retention feels much less today thank God! Stayed in track today eating wise but did not make it to the gym as planned. Tomorrow!

08/16 β¦..196.0 β¦.. My own fault on a busy day yesterday (and today too). Moderate calories & too many carbs. Luckily I burned over 2700 cals, over 15,000 steps & over 6 miles walked. Slept over 6 hours people! Amazing. I walked 131 minutes yesterday & I painted cabins for 102 minutes so the extra calorie burn over my normal work was 1,111. That is all that saved me. Have a good weekend everyone & forgive me for tomorrow as I went to the fish fry tonight. I only ate half a meal but it was still too carby. But weβll talk about that tomorrow! For now I am still trying to focus on the 10 day goal. 2 pounds, 2 pounds, 2 pounds. I have just one pound to go.

Ate half my fish dinner & brought the other half home to my son. The scale rewarded me with only a small fluctuation which is more likely because of TMI (as quiltingjaine has so aptly named it). Yesterdayβs stats: 1235 Calories In / 3188 Calories Out. 88 Net Total Carbs. 21,564 Total Steps & 9.14 Total Miles. 13/13 fitbit Step Hours & I slept 5 hours & 26 minutes & woke up refreshed & feeling great. I did 100 minutes of vigorous yard work, 81 minutes of heavy rigorous tourist cabin cleaning & I walked my neighborhood for 104 minutes moderately briskly including βthe hillβ. Total extra calorie burn was 1518. A beautiful sunny and warm day in Northern Michigan. Sadly I have a lot of indoor work to do. I hope to get out walking later.

I did the elliptical for 11 minutes, Walked at slower pace for 85 minutes and walked with neighbor at a faster but moderate pace for 53 minutes. Total extra calorie burn was 852. Today I clean tourist cabins & do motel laundry all day. It will be busy.

@Hilogirl2018 Iβm not currently on a ship but DH and I do like to cruise. Iβm going on a 7 day next Saturday so I guess my exercise will be walking from one end of the ship to the other. However, I am accompanying the widow next door who has COPD so may I have to slow down a bit. I never seem to make it to the gym on board.4

08/12 151.6 spent the weekend at the cabin with company. Meals consisted of cheeseburgers, hot dogs and beer. All the great luxuries of summer. Back home and on track for the rest of the week.
08/13 150.2 not totally trusting my scale these days (Yesterday was higher than I think it should have been) but Iβll take it!
08/14 149.8 logged, stayed under calorie budget, and exercised. Yesterday was a good day.
08/15 150.0 yesterday was busy, active, great day. Workout, Volleyball, then the kids and I took hubby for a round of golf for his birthday. Came home and enjoyed a small piece of birthday cake and a family movie. Logged everything and stayed under budget.
08/16 150.4 weighed a little later than usual today. Had another good day yesterday. Met my goals of logging, staying under calorie budget and working out. Not much more I can do but patiently wait for that drop. My head is in a place where Iβm not racing to drop a bunch of weight quickly, so Iβm okay with waiting it out. This new mindset has everything to do with this community and reading posts from people who have been committed for multiple rounds. I have read your posts about gains, losses, and plateaus but generally see slow, steady progress which is so inspiring. With time and long term commitment it will happen! But...letβs be honest...a drop sooner than later would be nice. Lol. Thanks for posting everyone!

08/11 139.5, walked 32,000 steps yesterday during the festival, and woke up thirsty so need to drink more water. Today Iβm on one stage mostly so my legs can have a much deserved rest!
08/12 140, had a really fun weekend, but got sunburnt so aloe is my best friend right now. Back to regular eating and exercise.
08/13 139.7, back on my way down. It should be a good day of eating and have a exercise class after work. I have a happy hour with my sorority alum group in the city so going to join for a bit, but will get a club soda since had too much drinking over the weekend and really want a good sleep so can power through the rest of the week and make up for the weekend.

08/11 - 207.6! Wow! Haven't seen a drop like this in a while. Very happy! Hoping I can maintain but probably wont tomorrow, cheated a little today on my macros but stuck to my calories. Had a special occasion today, so not holding the macro cheat against myself. Will do better with macros and exercise for the rest of the week though! Until then, grateful for the loss I had today
08/12 - 207.8! Up a little but so happy to see this number on the scale. Trying to do a good job of sticking to keto. Today is the first day of my fourth week and the first time I'm struggling with cravings. I just want a sandwich! Grr... Maybe it's a side effect of resisting so many temptations this weekend. Trying to stick to my macros and calories and to continue resisting. I'll try to find something keto friendly to scratch this itch so I dont obsess over cravings. Back to my lowest weight in two years π€© frustrating how much easier it is to stick to diet and exercise goals when the scale shows progress, but awareness of this type of thing is the first step to changing. Still, I'm very motivated to stick to food and exercise goals today. Made an epic fresh tomato sauce w lean ground beef and zoodles. Excited to have it again for lunch today
08/14 - 208.6... *sigh* literally for the entire month of August, my weight has been bouncing up and down 1.5 lbs. Gotta keep working hard to get it back down low. I hope I can push through this plateau soon. It's been exactly two weeks of the same yo-yo despite strictly following keto. Will try not to let this bring me down. Had a good workout with my personal trainer today and will stick to calories/macros and hope for the vest tomorrow.
08/15 - 207.8! And back down goes the yo-yo... Had a good day yesterday, hoping for a other one today. Will probably make today a rest day bc I am so sore from yesterday, but will fit in some gentle yoga to stretch and work hard to stick to macros today. 08/12 - 147.2 My weekend out of town wasn't a total free-for-all, but it did push the scale up a little more than I would have liked. Tired and not feeling well today, but using that as a reason to and not an excuse to not get back on track today!
08/13 - 145.8 Back down a little and physically feeling much better. Yesterday I could feel how slow and out of it I was, but I completed my boxing class as best I could, which helped a lot. I ate a frozen dinner but tracked it, and went to sleep early. Feeling like a new person today - and wearing yet another old pencil skirt to work! We have a family dinner out tonight so I have checked out the menu already and I have a few healthier options in mind for ordering so I don't set myself back too much.

08/15 - 146.0 Up and down and up and down...weight loss is not linear...weigh loss is not linear. A drop is still a drop and as I'm getting closer to goal weight, things are slowing down. And I haven't been 100% on my game either, even though my calories are coming in fine. Tonight it will feel good to get back to the gym, and hopefully that will stir up some energy...I've been falling asleep super early all week! So no pushups and no walking, but at least I'm not staying up late to snack!
08/16 - 145.0 Feels like I've been floating around this weight for so long now, but it's really only been over the last two weeks! I did have a great kickboxing workout last night, and we threw together a dinner that I was able to easily track. I didn't have anything packed for lunch either, and didn't have any particular cravings for fast food, but I was very, very tempted to just go grab some because it was a quick option. Fortunately, I took some time to think it over, remind myself of other restaurants around my work area and use that to pick a healthier lunch option! Really looking forward to getting a meal plan going again for next week, which should help with closing out this round!
08/17 - 143.6 Started the day with a great cross-training fitness/MMA class! That and hitting my previous low weight from a few weeks ago kept me focused and helped to not blow my progress at a kidβs birthday party in the afternoon. Normally Iβm all about the cake, but this one wasnβt even that good, so I took a few bites and threw it away.

08/13 185.8 Well I'm just gonna jump right in here. It has been a long summer and i'm glad the kids are getting back to school now. I had to have surgery (2x!) for breast cancer and getting started with radiation next week. But overall I managed to maintain my weight and now I'm ready for the scale to start moving downward again. I would like to get close to 170 by the end of the year which might be a bit ambitious but I need my clothes to fit me again and all of my "big" stuff is feeling tight.
08/14 186.8 I'm not sure where this bump came from except that I actually put too much salt in my zoodles last night. Drinking water for sure. Did 45 minutes of hiit at the gym so that was good! Trying to think about how I can eat successfully tonight at the kid's back to school swim pizza party.. I'm bringing watermelon as my side contribution.
08/15 186.4 still hanging here. Radiology appt today was mainly just for informational purposes and appointment setting so I still don't know what my schedule will be with it. Feeling pretty good overall though. My youngest daughter is on the heavy side (she's 11) and we talked a bit about how sugar can cause inflammation in your body, which ended in a challenge for us both to avoid refined sugar until her birthday in 1 month. I am excited to see the changes in both body and awareness this will bring for us both!
08/16 185.0 much better! maybe my goal for this round is still attainable. Off to the gym this morning to get my steps in, with some light weights. I'm not trying to make any gains for the next couple of months but I AM trying to stay in the habit of physically getting to the gym.
08/17 184.8 did some (hot!) gardening this morning, bathed both the dogs, and I'm calling that a work out. Overall a good day, getting ready to send my daughter off to college and I think I'm having a nice gin and tonic tonight. I plan on measuring the drinks so I can accurately log them. No fudging the numbers if I want to stay accountable!
08/18 185.4 well it doesn't look like I'll make my goal this round but that's ok. I ate well and have been staying within my calories so eventually it will go! drinking a lot of water today. Also need to grocery and get some vegetables. not a good thing when you are trying to lower calories and stay full!

08/11 130.6 Well I expected that after a record 3 pound loss at the end of last round that my weight would go back up - expect that a large part of that drop was water weight from being out in the sun/heat the last 3 days. Ended up with less exercise yesterday, but quads and right ankle definitely needed a rest. Was doing fine on food and even managed to fit in a tablespoon size scoop of homemade garlic ice cream, but DH opened a bag of fake fritos late last night after watching a movie, so yesterday ended up being sort of a cheat day - I definitely need one now and then and probably was under calories if I ate back exercise calories. Anyway expect the weight will stabilize over the next 10 days if I can keep up activity and log food while out of town. NSVs: MFP prediction for today was 133.5, so clearly under that and still tracking a 1.2 lb loss over 7 days and 5 for 30 days! Also while packing for trip to mountains, found a small black sleeveless silk dress in my closet that fits perfectly! Goal is to stay active on trip to the mountains and wear it out for dinner!

08/17 131.5 Well so far not breaking even for the round. But only a 0.9 increase while on vacation which is within the range of daily variability with changes in water weight/food retention etc, so not going to worry about the gain, but will focus on the few days left of this round. I have to remember that it it took me 12 years to get to my peak weight, and if I am consistent I can take it off within 12 months! Hit cardio hard this morning with a spin class and then some ab work later so getting back on track for exercise and will see what the scale says tomorrow!
08/18 132.4 Well that is not going in the right direction! Woke up feeling dehydrated and more bloated than normal. Spent time outside weeding like a mad dog in the heat, and just dripped sweat. Had ice water with me while outside (several refills) and tried hard to stay hydrated, but have a slight migraine now (too much sun, not enough water?) so going to take a rest and maybe do some exercise exercise later at home if I feel up to it. Unless a major whoosh materializes at the last minute, looking more and more like this will be the first round where I do not have a loss. In any case, this is a marathon and not a sprint to the finish!

08/12: 313.9 lbs (+0.5) β¦ small fluctuation, Iβll attribute to it a bigger dinner last night (steak!), though I was still under my budget. 6 mile bike ride this morning.
08/13: 313.2 lbs (-0.7) β¦ good stuff! That matches my previous low. Letting myself rest a bit today cardio-wise.
08/14: 312.5 lbs (-0.7) β¦ thatβs a new low for me, and under my goal for this roundβ¦ just need to hold onto that loss and not fluctuate up too much in the next six days. Completed Couch to 5k W2D1 this morning. I was very winded by the end of the jogging intervals, but I made it through them! Didnβt accomplish much at the gym, it was fairly overwhelming - so many machines/devices in there that I donβt have the faintest idea what to do with - so I just walked on the treadmill for a while and watched others. Signed up for 3 personal training sessions to get me started.
08/16: 312.9 lbs (+0.6) β¦ small uptick. Honestly, I expected more than this. I forgot about dinner and didnβt eat until almost 10pm, which definitely showed on the scale this morning. I still have some soreness in my left leg and my stomach felt off this morning, so I decided to push my next run off a day.
08/17: 310.6 lbs (-2.3) β¦ nice! Beat my previous low by 2lbs. Still need to run today, didnβt get to it this morning. Planning to do so this afternoon.
08/18: 312.2 lbs (+1.7) β¦ I expected this. I treated myself to Chinese take out last night. Fit within my budget but was a bit more food (and more carbs) than I typically eat for dinner. Tasty though. Still below my goal for this round, so Iβm happy.
