    @pancakerunner - yup had Shoo-fly pie in Amish country outside of Bird-in-hand, PA —- one has to like molasses for this pie. I was expecting it to be crazy sweet because the main ingredient is basically pure sugar- but it wasn’t at all. It was the consistency of thick jelly - with a great buttery crust. Overall - I’m glad I tried it - but it’s not my fav pie.

    When people started eating shoo fly pie- they usually had it with strong black coffee to cut the richness of the pie for breakfast - this for me was an ideal combo. The lady who owned the shop only served it with a complimentary cup of turbo coffee. :)

    Now mincemeat pie ..... 😋

    I LOVE cookies, but could never understand why people like walker's shortbread. They are so bland, boring and unsweet to me. I feel like they need to be dipped in frosting or have a chocolate coating, LOL.
