I was wondering why we started seeing single digit runs. I do hope you get that pain resolved quickly!

@rheddmobile fantastic races for you and your husband! Great RR too. I love the way that you two come up with strategies for your races.
@MNLittleFinn I haven't had the the time to read your RR yet but I definitely will do so. Your determination is inspiring! And your journey has been amazing!1 -
No runs for me since Sunday. Monday was too damn hot and yesterday I was busy shooting my son's soccer game and the girl's varsity game after that. I guess that solved my dilemma... I'm tapering for my half this weekend.
Tonight I have to host the soccer team's weekly dinner but I should be able to get a run in after that. If I get 6 in tonight and 4 in Friday, I should be all set for my race.
I'm probably at my highest level of fitness for September since 2016 so I'm looking forward to seeing how I do Saturday. Forecast calls for rain before and during the race. If that holds, it will be to my advantage as I love rain and mud.7 -
September goal: 45 mi running
9/10: 3.2, walk 1.9
9/11: walk 5.3
9/12: walk 4.1
9/13: 3.1, walk 2.4
9/14: walk 4.4
9/15: 3.2, walk 1.7
9/16: walk 5.1
9/17: 2.5 (7x400m intervals), walk 2.5
@MNLittleFinn Wow! Very inspiring, thanks4 -
Here's a big part of my "why" My mom, paced me the last 7 miles, over some gnarly climbs. My little man wants to be a trail runner like daddy. My wife picks up slack on those Saturday and Sunday mornings when I'm out running, and encourages me to do more, supporting all my craziness.

@MNLittleFinn Awesome RR! Inspiring and and amazing. Love the photos and the why couldn't be better0

PS. Mu husband did the 5 miler at the HM I just did - He hasn't run in years, but decided to do because of the cause and walked/ran it and came in 3rd for his age group. We won't mention that there were only 4 in his age group and the first was an elite so - he didn't count. Sshh.
I'm just thrilled he did it and finished. Made him feel pretty good too.
Hey, he can't control how many people in his age group show up to race.
Very true. Haha, He showed up and that counts!0 -
@kgirlhart Thank you! It was super exciting and fun.0

September goal: 110 miles
9/1: 8.86 miles
9/3: 6.31 miles
9/4: 6.25 miles
9/5: 6.25 miles
9/8: 10.55 miles

9/15: 10.25 miles
9/17: 6.55 miles
9/18: 6.26 miles
80.04/110 miles completed
I ran 6.26 miles this morning. It was really humid at 93% with a dew point of 68° so even though the temperature was only 70°F it was still a very sweaty run. But it was good. I played Zombies Run and beat all of the zombies. It was fun, but it was also an emotional episode.
I signed up to run a 5K on October 5th. It is one I have run the last two years. I'm hoping to improve my 5K time. Last year I got 2nd in my AG. This year there are a lot of women in their 50's running including the lady who won last year. But it is a small race compared to most of the races most of y'all run, so I still should have a shot.
2019 races:
2/2/19: Catch the Groundhog Half Marathon - PR 2:15:17
5/18/19: Run for 57th AHC Half Marathon - Cancelled due to weather
10/5/19: Old Rip 5K
2020 races:
5/16/20: Run for 57th AHC Half Marathon7 -

@MNLittleFinn – Loved reading your detailed report but how on earth did you recall all those details? The wedding at the 100 miles mark is mind-boggling too! It’s great that you had so many friends and family to support you and be a part of this huge achievement.

@MNLittleFinn love the photo and the ‘why’.
Hope those with injuries are feeling better and race prep is going well for those training for an upcoming race. I have a charity 5k that I am doing with my kids in mid October so not expecting that to be very fast! Otherwise mulling another half and/or some 10ks before i have surgery in early December that will put me out for a few months.
Anyway, did 7.5 miles this morning to put me quite close to my month goal. Left hamstring was sore for the last mile or so though so I’m hoping it will be ok after a rest tonight.

question
I just went to put laundry in and my washer smells like a mouse/rat died in it. I set it to wash with bleach and an affresh tablet (which I had done Monday). Where the heck is the dead thing? Just nasty.2 -

Modern washers have a plastic lining (despite claims of metal...) and that can absorb and hold smells. They say to run them empty on a full load setting with bleach once a month to prevent that.1 -

In endurance sports, there are TWO things that separate the top of the back from the rest.
1) Showing up.
2) Finishing.
He nailed both and got the reward.5 -

Ugh. Do you know what happened?0 -
No run today, got some poisonous food (well to me, at least it always feels like that) at lunch by mistake and need to stay close to the bathroom. Should be okay to run tomorrow, if schedule allows. Thursdays are tricky because I teach and need to work on my lesson plan before the class. If I do it too far ahead I will never remember what I am teaching so we will see.
I did risk the gym to keep my streak of making it to my anti-t-rex sessions going, five for five on that now!11 -

There was a nice breeze tonight! I ran intervals in an undeveloped part of my subdivision. Speedwork was not a priority last marathon training, so I am trying to incorporate more often.5 -
@AlphaHowls 😭😭. Hope your knee pain majically heals quickly!3
-
Appreciate all the thoughts. I started having knee pain after my last bike ride. Nothing horrible, but it is not making me happy. Nothing sharp, mostly a nag when I run.
I am going to keep low till Saturday. I have the Valor Run Saturday morning. It is a very special run for me. It is 10K, come hell or high water, I will make it.
