Humpday been and gone....after dinner I went for an hours ride followed by a brief run-off-the-bike. This got me to way under my calorie goal, so hopefully that'll translate into happy scales in the morning. Splishy-splashy make like a whale day in the pool for tomorrows exercise. I love that.1

I think I'm just getting over some sort of sickness too. I thought it was just allergies until I got a sore throat. Luckily it didn't last long and I can breathe again now.0

It's really good.
That's my opinion.
Sweep the legs Johnny! Lol
Ok I'm a nerd! Sorry
So the old rink guy where I skated, he retired two years ago, he'd always wash the windows as I'd skate in the evenings. I'd always skate on and joke wax on, wax off. He'd laugh. Not sure he knew what I was referencing being from Nicaragua but it was fun. I miss him and barely skate in the evenings since it's lonely2 -

Ok so first time posting in here but I'm 44 so...Hi!
Everyone around me is sick too. But I have to wear a mask (and sometimes gloves too) public most of the time due to my immune system. Never have I been happier about having to do all that stuff than now with everyone being sick.
Hope everyone gets better soon.
Btw if Tuesdays have tacos can Thursdays be "tequila Thursdays" 🤔2 -
Hello! Turning 40 in couple of months and in real need of lifestyle change and also need to lose A LOT OF WEIGHT to feel good about myself again. I have been putting this off for way too long.
I used to love exercising and then stressful work life got me and also had a baby (who just turned 2!). I have a lot of work to do but very determined to get the ball rolling again.1 -

So I've spent the last two days trying to I declutter the house. A lot if family and friends have offered to help when I get my surgery so I figure I need the house in order otherwise they'll all tidy. I was looking through a bag and came across this awesome sheet music. The book at the back is from 1900 and the others are from the late 20s to maybe 1950. My grandfather was a band leader, think Glenn Miller or Benny Goodman so I have to assume these were his from which he'd make arrangements. A fun blast from the past

By the way, I have a question I asked on the appropriate forum but no one answered it; maybe someone here is up to date with nutrition facts and figures?
I ate a pile of broccoli the other day and when I entered it into mfp, I got a notice that it was high in protein. I had no idea. So, my question is, is the protein we get from a dark green vegetable like broccoli the same as we get from chicken/fish/etc? I haaaaate lentils and am not a big bean fan but if I can substitute some meaty meals with broccoli, that would be better for the planet, apparently. But if there are different ways our bodies use different protein sources, I'd like to know.
Thank you!

Not a specialist and could ne wrong but as long as you eat more broccoli then yes or add beans all types to add more protein, Google it otherwise.0 -

Broccoli has protein. Lots of plants provide you with protein. It's the same protein you get in meat, and it fuels your body. That is how vegans don't die. There is a catch, though. Protein is an amino acid. There are 21 amino acids. Your body can synthesize most of them from others, but there are nine amino acids that your body can't synthesize and you must get from your food. If you eat meat, you get all of them. If you eat only plants, you have to pay attention. A few plant foods have all amino acids, and you can use combinations of others to get all the essential amino acids. Beans and rice provide all the amino acids. If you make masa from corn flour by slaking it with lime, you can get all essential amino acids. So yes it's the same protein, but there is a little more to it than that.
Then there's B vitamins, but that's another day.
I love the Blue Footed Booby on your profile pic by the way. Makes me want to go to the tropics.
