JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS ~ ROUND 91

Im in, its my birthday and my gift to myself is to lose my last 60 pounds or so (88 down and kept off so far) I am also getting back on track while quitting my last bad habit, smoking, so this should be fun. Glad to have a group here to take it a small chunk at a time with.

Goal is to lose 8 pounds (doable with my first week back on track weight mostly water weight will fly off)
80 oz water a day, walk on my lunches and breaks instead of sitting and smoking, and stay in my calorie range with 80% non processed real foods diet. Wish me luck!!

Yesterday I weighed in at 214. Stayed under my calories and drank tons of water and woke up at 208

(I was 196 last week and really jumped up in weight with my mom cooking for a week.)

9/30 181.5 I’m back, after a stressful week and some weight gain. Although I worked out all week last week I ate more than I burned. Also made a lot of bad choices, it’s a new week and almost a new month. Back to logging my food and meal prep is done for the week.
10/1 180.5 (-1) Off to a good start. Finished 50 minutes of boot amp and getting my 45 minutes of cardio in before work.
10/2 179 (-1.5) Gym at 5am with my awesome accountability partner, broken toe and all! Way to push through.
10/3 179 +/- 0 No change on the scale but It’s a good thing! Always great to start the day at the gym but missing my workout partner.

Advice?

I've been trying to add more veggies in wherever I can. If I don't, I won't eat them (not even out of dislike, just convenience).

I've made a couple dishes the last 3 days that have a larger amount of veggies (salmon with zoodles and asparagus for example whereas before I'd have salmon, rice, and asparagus no problem) and I'm SO STUFFED. I can't even eat a full serving and, if its lunch, I have to force feed myself dinner because I'm still full. Based on MFP I have to resort to the not-so-nutritious and high-cal junk foods just to meet minimum calories (1200) without making myself want to puke. I know a couple days a week doing that isn't too terrible as it balances out, but this is EVERY. STINKING MEAL. 4th day in a row and its an hour after lunch started and I'm still not hungry. Breakfast really wasn't even that big!

So if any of you have experienced this when increasing veggie intake or know of clever ways to increase intake without feeling full for so long that I skip meals (and end up at 600-800 calories for a day), I'd much appreciate it.

09/30 134.5, pretty happy with this weight especially since it’s after a weekend. My TOM will be mid week so hoping to curb any cravings and still manage to get workouts in.
10/01 134.3, back to where I was at the end of last round and hopefully the downward trend continues the rest of the round. Ending on a Wednesday gives me time to lose any period weight.
10/02 134.2, back to lowest weight and TOM started yesterday. Lots of water and cooking today a meal that gives 3 meals of leftovers do should be set up well for the next couple of days.
10/03 134.1, meals prepped for today (still leftovers) and managed to go to the gym for an hour so hoping continue on downward trend tomorrow going into the weekend with some cushion since always go up slightly.

Round 91 – Sept. 30 to Oct. 9
Female, 5’, 66 years. Goals – finish calorie log each day, only yogurt or fruit in the evening and nothing after 9 p.m. SW – 162.4, GW – 160.8, UGW – 140. (This really should be 125 or 130 but that seems like such a long ways to go and 140 would be a huge improvement.)
Saw 161.8 a couple of times last round, then self-sabotaged and ended up at 162.4. This round ends with company arriving – daughter and son-in-law and 7 kids for 3 or 4 days. So lots and cooking and prep during this round.

09/30 – 162.4 – This may blip higher as yesterday finished off a chocolate bar and had generous serving of ice cream. Back on the wagon though and tracking carefully today.
10/01 – 161.8 – LNS but only a couple of graham crackers. Not a lot of exercise as had a busy day with late evening out.
10/02 – 162.4 – Another evening class – fun class, but always a temptation to cave to LNS and doing something mindless when I come home. When I think about it, evenings are really what sabotage me. My daytime eating is always good until dessert at supper or LNS does me in.
10/03 – 162.2 – Tired yesterday and didn’t get as much done as I’d hoped since I opted to have a nap in the afternoon but – only some fruit for LNS. When considering whether a nap or push through and work outside, it was the LNS that made me go for the nap. I’ve found that tired=LNS on junk food and LNS=draggy the next day and maybe a headache which just sets up a bad cycle. Today though do want to get out there as winter is on the way.

This is my first 10day weigh in challenge, I’ve been doing 5lbs per month challenge for over a year and UAC since January but I struggled this summer and need a daily place to track weight while I refocus.

09/30- 149 I’m up almost 2lbs overnight because I ate extra calories and 3x’s as much sugar yesterday. Crossing my fingers it goes down dramatically tomorrow.
10/01- 149, still holding on at a high point. Today is my anniversary and my husband is planning a nice (mostly healthy) dinner. I have a full day of gardening and a kickboxing class on my schedule so I can enjoy it.

10/02- 148.2 my phone died and I realized how important logging is for me!!!! Thank you for the happy anniversary wishes. I kept the food in check!

10/03- 147.8 last night was a local potluck, I was good on food and really upped the exercise. I did have three drinks so I think this low is dehydration.

Did really well in the last round. Hoping to finally hit a new decade this round. I am so close to my ultimate goal, but it seems so far away at the same time. I have to be so careful with everything to be able to lose at this point, so I am going to work really hard. My goal is to hit 139 at least a couple of times this round and continue to bring my 10 day avg down at least another pound.

9/30 - 145.9 not off to a great start. We drank a lot yesterday and did a lot of snacking on foods that I normally wouldn't eat. Tons of carbs/sodium and beer were consumed all day. Tailgating and watching the Cowboys game with the hubby made for a great Sunday though. Now to get back on track and get somewhere this round. I am getting to old to party like we used to, I feel terrible today and I am just hoping to get my water in. I have a feeling it will an early night for me.

10/1 - 146.5 I have no idea what's going on. I had a medication change that started Saturday, so maybe I am holding onto some water or something or maybe this is the rest of my Sunday's bounce. I know I did splurge a little to much, but geez, I don't think 5.6 pounds worth by any means. I better not see it go up again tomorrow, it will eventually drop, I just have to be patient.

10/2 - 143.9 water weight is my enemy! Hopefully I will be back down tomorrow all the way. Was on track all day yesterday accept I did have a flour tortilla with dinner. Other than that excellent day and so far on track today.

10/3 - 143.2 I think I would have been lower, but had to eat on the run last night for dinner. Hubby and kids wanted pizza which I can usually get away with. Of course the pizza restaurant we chose did not serve salads (even pizza hut has a salad), I was shocked. So I went with 1 slice of veggie pizza and a couple of chicken wings. I thought for sure that would be fine. Usually if we order from our local place I can eat a salad and a couple of bone in wings and be well under my allotted dinner calories. I ended up 200 calories over, 40 fat g over, and 2000 mg of sodium over. I don't know what this place does to it's wings, but I would have been better off eating a couple slices of pizza. I was shocked when I went home and logged my dinner. So water and clean eating is on the menu today.

10/01 195.8 (+.2)/ 28.8% (+.1%) I didn’t eat the best that’s for sure. But ready for a new day. Another night of playing soccer but not indulging in carb overload before.

10/02 195.0 (-.8) / 28.7% (-.1%) yesterday i again has zero motivation but at least it was the same motivation for food. Didn’t eat to bad. Played soccer last night. Had a late dinner but it wasn’t horrible.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.

Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Stick with the process. It DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!

10/03: 93.6 (-1.4lbs since start) I feel really good about myself and my body today 😊 Burned 492 cals at the gym. Met with a personal trainer and he showed me 8 different strength exercises, which we repeated twice, that aren't too difficult for a beginner to start with. And good for building muscle mass. I did a small chunk of cardio before our session and another one after to complete my workout. Am noticing small changes with my body besides the 3lb loss this week I think my arms and abdominal area appear slightly more toned. Or maybe I'm just feeling more confident and it's a result of that but either way still a good thing. I'm very proud of my progress 💪💛☺ best of luck to everyone. WE GOT THIS!!!💗

I was so disappointed with the scales I ate some chocolate, then felt guilty and went to a 30 minute weight training session. Onwards and upwards.
