Interesting @ContraryMaryMary and @rheddmobile - I can't ind anything that clearly suggests one way or another but to me it read as 'normal speed'
My walking speed when hiking certainly isn't fast. I'm definitely an ambler, because then I AM smelling the roses (or sheep poo and other aromas). I'm more of a 20minute mile gal then...0 -
@MegaMooseEsq and I coming in at the end of my 8th five mile loop!

Felt great for 500m of my 5k. Turned the corner at the end of the road into a headwind and felt every day of 45yrs. I blame the bake off induced cake.
Goal for October:

2. 80km.........38km
3. 8km long...Done 12 Oct
4. PB 5km......Done 5 Oct

Another run down this week! Maybe I can double my goal!7

Awesome race report @7lenny7 ! Can't imagine doing that. The food sounds fantastic though and it was really good that @MegaMooseEsq ran with you for a bit.2
-
No run today, spent the time fighting to regain internet connectivity instead. I won in the end, but a run would have been better I think...8

I ran! And I did 10k!
First 10k in over 6 months and it felt great! I could have kept going but had to meet my students so timed it well overall.
As far as the issues with my watch, I'm more convinced it's an app issue. Have also heard of others that have had issues in the last 24hrs and atm it's not syncing very well with MFP. I mean it's always a little delayed with MFP but at the moment it's several hrs delayed.
I'm loving the watch. It's lighter than my old one and is just slightly more user friendly. And it's pretty lol.15 -
@7lenny7 - awesome race report! So cool to have @MegaMooseEsq as your pacer!
@hamsterwheel6 - any chance you could have broken a bone in your foot when you rolled it?BeverlyW1108 wrote: »I retired September 27 & guess what,,, there are still only 24 hours in a day & I guess I’m checking a few things off my list but darn I kinda thought I would be running & exercising more. I think maybe someone up there is watching over me so I don’t overdo it!
@MegaMooseEsq - Nice job getting muddy! I am pretty sure the snow will wash that mud right off!
On the walking question... I naturally walk pretty fast to the point that my husband doesn't like to walk with me since he is a very, very slow dawdler.
No run for me today but I did get to my strength training session after dropping off Hobbes for surgery. It went pretty well and he is home now and resting but still a bit woozy 🥴 We won't have the path report until later this week or next. Vet is thinking the 2 larger tumors are lipomas and is completely unsure of the one on his leg but he took good margins just in case it is another MCT. He won't be able to run (or walk) with me for at least a couple of weeks. I will be out for a solo run in the morning.
2nd picture under the split not for the squeamish...13 -
Ah @shanaber. Hugs to sweet Hobbes. Hope the path report comes back with good news.0

5 miles in the pouring rain this morning. My clothes, hair and everything else were dripping water when I finished. I’m not complaining though because we really really need some rain around here. Feeling tired now though. I had bootcamp after work yesterday and it involved a lot of running including sprints. Half way to goal!
Congratulations on your retirement @BeverlyW1108!
@shanaber – glad Hobbes did great with the surgery. I hope he isn’t feeling too bad today. Give him an extra ear scratching for me!

Good Morning MFP Friends!
@Tramboman - Thanks! Grateful for my health to do the things I love most.
@shanaber - Thanks - My hubby asks if I'm bored yet! Not even close! I hope Hobbes is back to running with you soon.
@Teresa502 - Thanks Teresa! Halfway through the month, Halfway to your goal - Great Job!2 -
@shanaber – big hugs to Hobbes! Hope he recovers quickly.
@MegaMooseEsq your race report sounds like you had a good time!
@Avidkeo WTG on running your first 10K in 6 months! Great progress.
10 miles this morning. Decided to skip the speed work assigned for today, and move it to Saturday (maybe).

I don't think I logged anything for the month since I've been away. We took a Rhine River cruise from Amsterdam to Basel, Switzerland and it was fantastic. The only drawback was having to run on a 12-laps-to-a-mile running track on the sundeck. My right leg is sore from the constant pressure of turning. But the views were spectacular. I'll post some pictures in another post from my phone after this post.

I ran 25.5 miles on that darn track which is 306 times around. The cool thing was I was running about the same speed the boat was moving, so when I faced aft, the shoreline wasn't changing. And I ate a TON of food. I mean A TON. And even though alcohol was included, I really didn't drink much at all. I expected to come home and weigh a ton more: I gained .2lbs!!! So not bad at all. But we hiked, walked, biked, etc.8 -
