Day/Weight/Comment
10/20: 160.2-Easy bike ride yesterday, these nice autumn days make it a joy to be outdoors.
10/21: 160.4-Lazy day, rainy, only a quick walk and errands.
10/22: 160-Ready to quit after 30 minutes on the elliptical but made it to goal of 70 minutes.
10/23: 160-Short walk in misty weather. Need to work on pushups.
10/24:160-Perfect day for a paddle-45 minutes on the pond.
10/25: 160.4-Well, at least it proves my scale isn’t broken. Knee pushups and a lovely walk.
10/26: 160.2-40 minutes on the elliptical.
10/27: 160.8-A little sore from lifting. Weight stall is disappointing but feeling fit so I’ll suck it up.
10/28: 160.4-20 minutes rowing, felt great to start this again.

Some lovely individual here suggested Zombies, Run! to me when I mentioned that I was beginning running. Well, NikeRunClub has decided it does not want to work. Looking at reviews, MANY people are so angry with the same exact issues I'm facing and these are OLD reviews. Two updates since then and still the same issues. So, I'm currently downloading Zombies, Run! and starting fresh this week with that new app.
And just a quick review of NikeRunClub so hopefully no one else falls prey to it: It messed with me mentally. I ran according to training. It never showed up. It kept telling me I was slacking. My pace was waaaaay off (I'm talking I ran 1.2 miles on the treadmill and it showed I ran 0.6mi on the app). And then after 2 weeks, the MyCoach training plan I set up just deleted itself. I lost all progress.
So for the sake of my mental wellbeing as I get back into running, I'm staying far away from NRC and moving on to something I've heard so many wonderful things about. And I need accountability so I'm telling you all in hopes you'll keep me going (as you always do)
So whoever you were that told me about Zombies, Run! (I apologize), THANK YOU.8 -
Hi all....I'm 50, female; each round I'm just hoping for a little bit less
Day/Weight/Comment
10/20 141.2
10/21 just didnt bother...i know not great attitude
10/22 same as day before. I better kick it up a notch....get back into the mentality. I did not track any food either
10/23 139.2 ok got my brain back into the game. Now I have to go back for the last couple days, and try to track what I can remember eating. I know we cant be committed 100% of the time, so maybe it's ok I took a little 2 day break from this whole routine.

10/26 139.2
10/27 139.6
10/28 141.5 funny thing..someone stole our front license plate, or it fell off. It's going to be entertaining to get another set. Always entertaining here in Central America.

5'6, I'd like to get down to the 138's during this challenge. Final goal is 132-133.
10/20 139
10/22
10/23 139, I'm rejoining. I had a rough go at work, then fight with my boyfriend, and lost it. I started eating and drinking without thinking. My weight is up, and I quit the last challenge. Now I feel even worse, and want to get back on track.
10/24 139, hanging at this weight. Lifted weights today, walked dog, and didn't overeat. Still hoping to see 138.
10/25 139, no change
10/26 139.6, Feeling kind of demoralized, but I think the little spike is from all the salt last night. Even so, I'm having a hard time moving from 139. I've been eating less, but not tracking, so I guess I'm still eating too much.
10/27 141, yikes! I'm hoping this is the result of my salty meal last night.
10/28 141.2 Egads! this was not my plan. I started at 139, and hoped to at least see the high end of 138. And instead I GAINED 2 pounds. I know the culprit. I had stopped drinking and the weight fell off. Then I started to have 2 glasses of wine at night, and boom, it's right back. It's time to give up the wine again, sigh.

10/23 No Scale I have been on vacation or traveling for work for two weeks and while I've been tracking I haven't weighed consistently. I was mostly good. I've been in Phoenix, for you people who live here - does the sun ever relent??? I walked Monday when I got here, I thought I just drank a lot of water I don't need to take a bottle with me. That was a mistake. Thought I was going to croak after just 1.5 miles. I checked in to my hotel and crashed for 3 hours. It might not have been the best idea to walk after 4 hours of sleep and a 2-hour plane ride. But I had no work plans until Tuesday morning and walking is my default activity. I couldn't even check in until 1:00 pm and I landed at 8:00 am. Oh well. The scale will tell tomorrow, though I'm sure it will be high due to travel.
10/24 No Scale My trip was extended one day by my BF. He joined me as a surprise. He's not supposed to travel but obviously he's not good at following doctors' advice. It's all good though, he's fine and we're home safe and sound.
10/25 163.5 I had hoped for more but I'll take it. I did not exercise yesterday but I ended up getting sick to my stomach. I think it might have been an airport coleslaw the night before. It's difficult to find airport food that has veggies in it so I took my chances. I enjoyed the break from day-in-day-out work but I'm ready for routine. These are pics from my first walk in Az. I'm not a huge fan of the desert but as you can see I went early in the morning. Believe it or not, there is a trail in the pic without the two cactus.
10/26 163.9
10/27 164.1 ARGH
10/28 164.5 Saturday night I had a very high in sodium but delicious meal. I cannot stay away from Asian food but it's always full of sodium. Tempura veggies, half a sushi roll, and some noodles all veggies and fish. If it weren't for the sauces I'd be down today! I HOPE the water is gone by tomorrow. I was so full from Saturday night I wasn't hungry most of yesterday. I got in three miles on Saturday but spent my walking time on Sunday trying to get my new phone up and running. I seem to be on an "every other day" exercise schedule, I have to get back on track. I passed out a couple of weeks ago and have been kinda chicken ever since. I've gone to the doc and they weren't sure what's up but didn't restrict exercise. They did an EKG that showed a weird electrical issue that might have caused the passing out but they want me to wear a 30-day monitor because it didn't seem to be serious enough to have caused the passing out. I want to know, I want to stay on track I've put so much time and effort into this. I go tomorrow to have the monitor attached. Wish me luck.8 -

22: 213.2 Just a few days until TOM. I'm starting to feel inspired to move more. I haven't done anything that most people would consider exercise during this leg of my journey, but I've recently started parking as far from store entrances as I can and walking around my 1/4 mile lawn path that I finally finished mowing.

25: 212.4 TOM
26: 211.3 Surprised by this. I had popcorn late yesterday afternoon + TOM + I feel bloated this morning. I really thought I'd see an increase today, not that I'm complaining. Lol. I know several people have mentioned they don't see extra weight until a couple days later, but my experience has always been that the scale goes up the next day. It makes me wonder what it would have been if I didn't have the popcorn, and I'm kind of excited to see where I'm at tomorrow.
27: 209.8!!! Another minigoal reached! I guess my anticipatory excitement yesterday was warranted! I'm having so much fun with this!

Round 93
I passed out a couple of weeks ago and have been kinda chicken ever since. I've gone to the doc and they weren't sure what's up but didn't restrict exercise. I want to know, I want to stay on track I've put so much time and effort into this. I go tomorrow to have the monitor attached. Wish me luck.
I had a similar issue. I passed out suddenly and they thought I had a heart attack initially. After wearing a heart monitor and undergoing several tests (VO2 max, stress test, ultrasound of my heart, etc), we determined it was exhaustion. They never mentioned electrical issues for me, though. Hopefully its nothing serious.
I will say, while I had the monitor on, I was not allowed to get my heart rate up. Absolutely no working out and limited walking/moving so that I didn't raise it too much. Not sure if that's what they will do with you. Hopefully nothing to drastic! It is an awful experience. I was so scared. But once I got the all clear, I came back and ran my best APFT (army physical fitness test) after only 2.5 months of training. No issues since. Wishing you just as easy as a comeback.
Best of luck!

I only slept 3 hours & 41 minutes. Yesterday I walked 68 minutes in the neighborhood at approx 3.0 mph. I also took a short 10 minute slow walk at about 2.0 mph. Total extra calorie burn 402. back home now. Things have quieted down. Time to face the fiddler. Expecting rain so I will walk inside the school, if necessary. Doubling down on water & parsley tea. Maybe an egg fast today for at least 24 hours. Glad to be home & have choices.

Goodies for sale to help the graduating class of my grandson in a couple of years. Bought some items in a “charitable” mood to “take home to my son”. I ended up eating half of them! Next time, I’ll just donate the money & bring home nothing! Yesterday’s stats: Carbs & cals over the top. 2769 calories burned. 19,136 total steps & 8.1 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. Time for my annual re-check and to check how remission is going!
10/28 …..187.8 ….. Steady scale. I had a wonderful movie night with my son last night at home. I resisted his popcorn, soda & sweet snacks. Day/Weight/Comment
10/20--207.6 I have been having digesitive problems over the last couple of days, but I'm starting to feel a little better. I couldn't figure out why I wasn't feeling well and then I realized I had been snacking on some crackers that contained an ingredient that I am sensitive to. Ugh!
10/21--207.4 Strength coach yesterday. It's expected to rain most of today, but hubby and I are still planning on going out for a trail walk with the dog. Hopefully, there will be a break in the weather when I get home.
10/22--207.6 Went out for my c25k run today. There was a pizza lunch today at work, but I decided ahead of time to bring and eat my own lunch, so that I wouldn't be tempted to eat any of the pizza.
10/23--207.2 Went to strength coach today--tough workout. Digestion is getting better.
10/24--207.4 Great workout yesterday. It's supposed to be a sunny and crisp day, so my plan is to go out to run W2D3 of C25K tonight.
10/25--207.4 I went out for the run yesterday after work, it was great. Worked out with my strength coach this morning.
10/26--207.4 I've been wanting to get back into hiking, so today I went out for a 4.5 mile hike. Other than the fact it was foggy at the top of the mountain such that there was no view, the hike was perfect. It was a challenging hike, but not so hard that the hike was not fun. I am already sore. My plan is to go out for a little walk later today to help with any soreness.
10/27--207.0 No strength coach today, so I'm going to go for a swim, something I haven't done in awhile. I will take dog out for nice trail walk today. I didn't get a lot of water in yesterday, so I plan on getting water in today.
10/28--206.5 I went swimming yesterday and it felt great. When I got out of the pool my legs felt like jelly. Later in the afternoon I took the dog out for a walk, it was one of those perfect fall days. Plan is to do C25K tonight.

@chalazae I rarely post these types of messages, but I'm hoping it will be helpful to you.
1.5 lbs in 9 days is a great weight loss. Maybe the bigger issue is that your weight loss goals are a little unrealistic. Remember this is not Biggest Loser, this is real life.
Just looking at this round you say on 10/20 you ate like a pig, but then on 10/21 you say that you have no clue why you gained. If I had to take a guess, the increase on 10/21 , is probably due to the fact that you ate a lot more salt than usual.. Then on 10/22 you say that you have no idea why the scale went down, again if I had to take a guess I would guess it was the excess salt from 2 days ago leaving your body. Weight loss is not linear and it is not perfect. Just because you ate perfectly or even poorly the day before, that does not mean it will be reflected on the scale the next day. This is a great website to explain scale weight fluctuations that I think would be really helpful.

@CamandJarvis I hope they don't restrict my walking. It's the only thing keeping me sane these days. If they do, they do I just want to get better.3

Good thought, @tiabirdie56, but I do take a high-quality multi vitamin + D3 K2 + magnesium + B12 and my levels have come up considerably over the past 18 months. I don’t know about my zinc level, so that’s a thought. I think it’s more that I’ve allowed myself to become reacquainted with beautiful baked goods. And of course eating sugar and salt make us want more! But I’ll look into the zinc.... Thanks!3 -
@mrs_sutsie - I always gain the day after I have gammon or bacon too, it's definately the salt !!0

@Camandjarvis - pumpkin and ginger soup is delicious and seasonal at this time of year!!2

Hi. My name is Trina. I missed the last couple of rouds and I missed you all!
I had a double mastectomy for Invasive Lobular Carcinoma on 9/24. Happy to say that I am back at pre-surgery weight, and back up to regular walks. Unfortunately I can't do much else, since I can't bounce, lift my elbows above my shoulders or lift more than 5 pounds. Unfortunately the cancer was fairly large. I was told no chemo, and possible radiation, but due to the size I will get to do both chemo and radiation. Hopefully that doesn't lead to No-hair-vember!

Round 93 – Oct. 20 to 27/ 2019
Female, 5’, 66 years. Goals – finish calorie log each day, only yogurt or fruit in the evening and nothing after 9 p.m. SW – 163, GW – 162, UGW – 140. (This really should be 125 or 130 but that seems like such a long ways to go and 140 would be a huge improvement.) Planning to get my winter gym membership this round and get back to regular 2-3 times a week workout.
Back again after holiday out to see our son and family who have a toy and candy store. Amazingly am only up a bit from where I was when I left (varying around 162.2 to 162.8) although there may be an uptick tomorrow from all the chocolate.

10/22 – 163 – Not nearly as bad as I feared. Logging carefully today so as not to increase the damage though have a busy day. Last trip for the year, I think, so can really settle in to the winter stuff. Made it over the last mountain pass last night (in snow) just as they were issuing a weather advisory. At home it’s a beautiful fall day. Thankful.
10/23 – 162.4 – Question that I deserve this as had ½ a dark thin chocolate bar last night and also a bit of chocolate at lunch(gift from trip). Don’t have to go anywhere today so hoping to get in some exercise and make good meals.
10/24 – 163.4 – Was rather expecting this. Did have chocolate again yesterday but now it is gone. Did stretches this am and got to bed at a reasonable time so hoping for lots of progress today.
10/25 – 162.6 – Onward and downward. No stretches yesterday but did plant one last perennial which involved a lot of digging out nasty soil and stones so should have burned some calories there. Have a practice this morning but hoping to rake leaves this afternoon as we’re supposed to get snow tomorrow. Calories were ok yesterday but still some LNS – hoping to do better today.
10/26 – 163.6 - ?? Maybe the LNS catching up with me or maybe too much salt at supper. Power was out for a number of hours yesterday so our supper was cold meat sandwiches and snacking on homemade granola (nutritious but not low cal at all).
10/27 – 163.4
10/28 – 163.6 The true bump up from holidays and a week of tiredness & trying to catch up. Busy day today and tomorrow but then I am finished with one class I was taking so that may help. Last night managed to keep to apples for LNS though may count for the day must have been over by about 300 cals.
