Love Christmas/holiday-targeted challenges. I've gotten to my (somewhat arbitrarily determined) goal weight, so this is just for me to keep myself motivated to keep working out and logging my calories. I'm also tracking body fat %, which for me is a better indicator of health at this stage. I have some fat stores in my lower belly and hips that I'd like to whittle down a bit more to look more toned.

The last 2 days I've been eating whatever my heart desires. I've got the seasonal cold and when I fall sick I fall off the wagon...bigtime.
It's as if whenever I deviate from my diet plan for whatever reason, I just keep eating till I feel bloated and horrible and then look back and think why did i eat that?
Anyone else struggle with this and any tips would be appreciated. TIA
I've struggled with this a lot in the past as well, both when I'm sick and when I'm on my period. Recently, I tried doing the inverse when I got sick and got my period the same week. I made a decision to continue to eat only healthy foods and just observe how I felt. The difference was tremendous! My body just felt so much better and more capable of being able to fight off whatever I was struggling with, it was incredible. So perhaps go into it with an observer mindset and commit to eating healthy just to see how you feel? Logging notes in your MFP diary can help, too.0 -
Last week was a pretty good week -- several challenges, but powered through. 3.7 pounds down.

I'm in! Just what I need for accountability. My journey started in 2016 after I started seeing a nutritionist. I lost 74 in one year and 82 total. I've done well maintaining until this summer when I started neglecting myself because work was sho stressful. Recently I remembered that I need to take care of me and be in control of myself. No more excuses!
I'm trying to get back on track before Christmas so this is a great thread. I've slacked on working out but slowly working it back in this month.
I actually weighed in this am though I dreaded it. Pretty close to my no go zone.

I’m in. My goal is 160 by Christmas. I started using mfp about a month ago. I struggled with weight all my life and avoided the scale. I started working with a trainer whose focus is nutrition, sleep and walking. I was 191# on 8/20. Currently 177. I feel great. I want to continue this process.

I hear you Karen! What’s been going on this week that’s making it tough?1 -
I'd like to join too, only 7 weeks until Xmas!
I am looking for a positive motivated group to help me stick to my goals.
I find smaller goals more manageable and successful, so I will start with just:
- trying to do my 10K steps EVERY day,
- drink 8 glasses of water a day,
- and do some HIIT/intensive cycling three times a week
- and log my food for the next 7 weeks...
Challenge starting weight: 172 (78kg) Challenge end weight goal: 163 (74kg)
Week 1: Nov 1 - 78kg = 172 pounds, cycle goal met 2/3, steps goal 0/7, water 2/7, logging 3/7
So overall, week 1 was not great but can only get better!!!3 -
well I got my workout in yesterday, not only did I walk 15,000 steps, but I also carried my 5 year old for about 5000 of those steps during trick or treating. She has asthma and a cold, and colds kick her butt, so she was struggling to keep up, even worse because it was pretty cold also.3

Chocolate and making the mistake of coming home from work and just sitting around. It is dark out when I get home now but that is not a excuse, time to get started on Turbo Fire work outs. Thanks for asking, just what I needed for motivation.0 -

Sounds like you have a good plan to make this week better, I look forward to seeing a loss reported (a loss is a loss no matter how small!)

Getting in late. I am a sucky logger, so hoping some somewhat public humiliation will motivate me. Down about fifty from highest weight, at least fifty to go. Hoping to be down 10-15 Christmas. Good luck everyone!

Hi Everyone,
Well, here I am 1 week in. I'm down 2 lbs so very happy with my results this week - it's been a while since the scale has moved in the right direction. I'm tired of all the ups and downs so I'm trying to implement only those changes that I can live with for the rest of my life. I'm trying to focus on 3 positive changes each week - this week is: walking every day, no treats 6 days per week, drinking 8 glasses of water per day.
Have a great week, everyone!
