What nobody tells you about losing weight

Nobody told me how sensitive my knees are to any weight fluctuations.15

Looking on the bright side, you can score some awesome deals on small sized bras! I just picked up a bunch on clearance for $5-7 (so 75% off or more) because apparently the only other women my size must be 12 and shopping the training bra section 😂
I kind of am digging it to be honest I already have quite a big pair at DDs so they'll looking great but after 3 kids think I may treat myself in the years to come with a new pair . They were always my favorite asset 🤗3 -

I'll keep mine, but I'll have to get them put back to where they belong.😉7 -

QFT! I just had to stop my husband from leaving the house with his tie hanging way past his belt. His neck and belly have shrunk so much, he definitely needs to start by leaving a longer tail. Maybe he can shop the normal length tie selection now, instead of limiting himself to the ties that come with extra length.6 -

No, you weren’t. Apparently you were in GERD remission.
I’ll tell ya one thing, though. The last eight hours has completely and utterly put the cure on me for chocolate.
YES. I’m constantly trying to tell myself “chocolate gives me heartburn “ (esp Reese’s 😩), but yesterday PMS me didn’t listen 😬

Not really sure if this belongs here, but I have to say it. I thought that when my stomach was much smaller ( it now is!) that the bath water would cover it. But nope, standing up it looks flattish, but in the bath all that skin floats right to the top with my boobs.17

Well I was told I was losing too much weight which kind of hurt my feelings because I have worked so hard to lose the few extra pounds. Also I'm losing alot of weight off my upper half which is practically non existent now and I'm not sure my b/f is over the moon with that but what can I do, I cant pick the places I lose weight.22

I find that weight loss starts at the top of my body an eventually works it way down. Saw the weight loss first in my face, then arms, chest and waist. With 49 more pounds to go, I'm still waiting for my thunder thighs to catch up with the rest of me. More than half-way there though!22

I'm a side-sleeper, and now I have to put a pillow between my legs to sleep comfortably.12

I had to laugh. I’m the same. House sat this summer for a lady with a private pool, and skinny dipping looks hilarious! Loose floating bits go everywhere.9 -
A few developments:
I'm really starting to feel the cold. I don't like being cold at the best of times but this is a little unpleasant.
My legs feel weird. Particularly in the pool. Starting to get bony knees and, since I've always been big, it's a very odd sensation. Especially when I sleep on my side.
My balance and spacial awareness is waaaay off. I'm bouncing off walls and door frames.
Lots of fun to be had on this journey!22 -

Same here—my top 1/3 loses weight first every time. I’m already in training bra territory, so not sure how much is left to lose. I’ve been able to see my collarbone for years, but in the last year or so I started noticing the second set of notches/protrusions below what I normally see, and bone is clearly visible all the way into the top of my shoulder.
Noticing lots of little bony bits I’ve never seen before—sternum and way to much rib. I find myself staring at the play of bone, skin, muscle, tendon, and blood vessels when I’m lifting upper body. So weird, but fascinating. I must look like a vain weirdo, but I suppose that’s better than creeping on other gym goers in the mirror!
Meanwhile my butt and thighs are still full of fat. I can just barely see any thigh definition through the fat despite working my legs hard and heavy. We won’t even talk about my lack of ankles.
I will note that if an imbalance bt upper and lower body bothers you, consider trying to put on a little more muscle in your chest and shoulders. You can’t change where you lose, but you can choose where to build up.
Despite having no, err, womanly assets to speak of, I have a faux cleavage line thanks to building chest muscle. The muscle also covers some of the bony appearance of my upper chest. A little extra shoulder muscle balances my bigger bottom half and makes my waist look smaller (my hips slimmed down considerably, just not thighs. So I have less of the hourglass look than I used to, so I’m faking that with some extra shoulder and working on glutes).

That mammograms HURT. You could squeeze my giant DD’s into flat pizza sized discs no problem but nearly 100lbs gone it hurts to press my ribs up to the machine enough to get my little boobs in there.16

Oh that’s what the difference is!
My first one I was relieved as I thought it would be horrid and it was fine. Then recently had one OW! OUCH! I thought it was the nurse

I have to pre-warn the nurse that I’m going to cry all throughout the process so she doesn’t think it’s her! Not because it’s particularly painful though it’s certainly not pleasant, but because I think it’s the single most humiliating thing I’ve ever had done! I HATE mammograms! 😢12 -

I find the difference in everyone’s bodies so interesting. I am the opposite. The first places I see definition is in my quads & claves. My ankles look downright skinny & thin like I remember them being in high school.
Yet I cannon see my collar bones. I think my jawline is coming back? No idea if that’s just wishful thinking or not. I can’t wait to see the definition all this hard work brings once my upper body finally starts to thin out.8 -

Since I'm not at goal yet, I purchased this to keep my wedding ring from twisting and sliding off. It works great and after the first few minutes, I don't feel it on my finger.

I have found that, while I lost weight really unevenly, with my bottom half disappearing and my top half sticking like mad, after a year at a fairly steady weight my fat distribution has evened out and I do look more symmettrical now. Still a few very stubborn pounds to go but I'm taking it very slowly now (not necessarily intentionally)

I am shaped like a diamond. Tiny ankles and wrists - visible collar bones - Big round belly and butt. *sigh* Eventually, the belly will go away. I am focussing on glutes to try and maintain the booty, while losing the belly in the front. Thankfully, I still have some womanly attributes - so I am hoping for an hourglass some day.

A diamond! Yes Re that's me too—I'd always gone with 'apple' since diamond wasn't available until nowOr sometimes I think I'm shaped like an octopus, all bulbous in the middle with tapering extremities.
