* 8 years ago, I wouldn't have been able to have the vacation I had because I wouldn't have been strong enough to: hike, kayak, jump, slide, swim, run, and play. So I am grateful for a healthy body that I've strengthened over the years into a vessel that will let me live the life I want to live. All weight loss / size loss / etc aside, I have made it so that I can live the life I want (within the health parameters set out for me by fate's whimsical desire to give me hurdles I don't need).
Here's to a winning week this week, even if it's a small win!
"I have made it so that I can live the life I want " Best NSV ever.10 -
Most recent: had to use the non handicap bathroom stall (handicap one was broken) and I had more than enough room!
Other recent ones include trying on new jeans and being under a size 50! And fitting into shirts that were too tight a month ago!
Oh, and on the seated leg curl machine, I moved down another hole on the pad that locks above the quads to hold your legs down50 -
Welp, some of my in-progress dresses are getting too big. I thought for a while that they were looking frumpy but could not connect that it was because the frumpy-ness stemmed from them being too big until recently.29

I have now logged 100 days straight (my first ton! 🏏)
I'm a hair away from being 1/3 of the way done with total loss.
And for the trifecta, it's Friday & a long weekend for me 😁41 -
I was almost at binge state yesterday and stopped myself..then did 120 pushups and 55 minutes on my spin bike (the most I have done on the bike since I started) finished the day like all the rest so far, under my calorie limit39

Had the opportunity last week to finally show off one of my favorite local strolls to a friend after years of badgering to join me for. Around 5 miles round trip, around 1600 feet gain. Really only moderate difficulty but labeled as difficult since a fire swept the area a couple years ago.
It's not that I did the hike, as I've done it when I weighed 200+ lbs. It's that I forgot my trekking pole (denial compromise for years being using only one vs. both on the easier trails...) and only really missed it on about a mile long section of. Not too shabby considering since March the furthest I have intentionally walked is around a mile round trip on the mostly level ground of an abandoned roadbed a month or two ago.

I am down to 2 cups of coffee a day! It's a big deal for me40

Realizing my "figure friendly" dressses no longer hide unsightly areas but now look like tents so to the thrift store they go.38

First time in eleven years my wedding ring fits . Been trying a couple times a week to get it over my knuckle, no luck. Grabbed it yesterday full well thinking it wouldn’t fit, and it slipped right on. I screamed . I don’t like jewelry, I’m not going to wear it, but it fits!32

About a year ago I bought some leggings and have worn them instead of jeans since then. My jeans had been getting a bit tight. This morning I decided to dig the jeans out. The nsv isn't simply that they fit, but that when I went to the loo I just pulled them down without unbuttoning them... (I've been so used to leggings without buttons that I didn't remember they had them!)26

Hahaha! Me, too, except I might have been a couple of youngsters’ grandma. I decided to go do some weighted squats and bench presses since my trainer was sick and cancelled yesterday. I never go on Saturday and they were slamming equipment and making barnyard noises. (It’s a “serious” barbell gym with competitive types. ) I had already done a couple of hot mat classes and was already pretty tired, so I wasn’t planning to do anything heavy, just a bunch of reps to work on form and stay in the groove. Normally I would have been totally intimidated but I just did what I planned and was ready to glare at anyone who smirked at my weights.
Nothing but smiles and head tilts, acknowledging me being there, lol. It’s like a brother/sisterhood of “You, too? Aren’t we bad *kitten*!”16 -
Today, I'm storing 2 huge Costco pumpkin pies in my refrigerator for 2 parties this week. I was tempted to stress eat one huge Costco pumpkin pie. I promised myself I could eat a slice AFTER my lunch if I still wanted it. After eating lunch, I didn't want it anymore because I satisfied and didn't feel deprived since the option to eat the pie wasn't forbidden. Then it beckoned me again late afternoon so I called up a friend to stress walk 15k steps. Then it beckoned me the third time after dinner. I knew if I sliced it, it's game over free for all because now I can't take a spliced up pie to a party so might as well eat it. My friend also struggles with stress eating who had just stress walked with me stayed for dinner. We made paleo keto gumbo for dinner. To satisfy our sweet tooth we went out to get ice cream so no leftovers of dessert. I got the largest serving but then a third of the way through slowly eating I stopped eating because stomach full. I usually eat to eat not listening to whether my stomach was full. It seriously is a battle one moment at a time... The struggle is real but I'm pausing to think, use tools to cope, reach out to friends, etc. I can't wait to dump those pies to the parties and just have a bite leaving it there.34

Was able to complete two sets of 3 proper pull ups without tweaking my shoulder again! I know it doesn't sound like much, but to me pull ups are the hardest, especially nearing age 55. I can do pushups like no tomorrow but pull ups really tell a person how strong they are or NOT! My goal is to complete 10 or more in a row by next year sometime.26

600 days 10K or more steps. Average over the last 12 months is 15K. So now I have 10 Garmin badge (60 day streaks) in a row.27

I did it.
20 mile bike ride.
A week ahead of my target.
It was slow (probably the slowest 20 miles I've done to date but that will improve) but utterly wonderful.
I also conquered another "slope". I usually take the long route up this hill but today decided to go the direct - and much steeper - way. This may have added to the time it took to cycle the route.
Next target - 25 miles. Or maybe 30.38 -
I’m down visiting my parents with the 3 kids for the entire next week. Husband drove us down Friday and left today to work M-W before coming back down for the holiday.
I have been under goal every day but 1 so far and that’s a miracle! Plus the “over” day wasn’t even up to maintenance
It’s the boredom that gets me don’t get me wrong, I worked hard to clean my house before we left for 10days so it’s not a mess when we get home, I’m still homeschooling the kids and preparing meals. But it’s not *my* house so when I’m not doing those things I’m....free.
It’s wonderful.
It’s also hard to not revert to childhood boredom eating habits in my childhood home. I will stay strong!!28 -
Did my next long swim -11.5km - no nerves this time! Maybe I have, 'exorcised the demon' (said Ace Ventura style for those that may care hehe)
Wondering whether I should look at eating before I swim, maybe a little.....currently I have a SIS gel every 100 lengths and a lot of water but after 440 lengths I noticed a bit of a shake......and with wanting to get to 600 lengths, I may need more/better/different fuel.
Wolfed down my chicken pieces after and felt totally grand the rest of the day/weekend........hmmm maybe I will just eat more pasta the night before.16 -
I've officially dropped my BMI 10 points, from 44 to 34. And in just 5-ish more pounds I will be overweight instead of obese.
I hate BMI and all the racist, bad science it stands for, but the reality is every doctor and insurance company uses it so I can't help but care a little. And it's kind of satisfying, seeing it drop from way in the red to just a hair out of the yellow.38 -
2 NSV's this weekend:
I walked a 5k on Saturday in under an hour.
I painted my toenails myself yesterday. And I didn't even have to hold my breath while I did it.
