I "grew" 1/4 inch (TALLER, people. Taller)!!! (Some of you will know what a big deal that is to me )
We measured everyone during the holiday just for fun. I'm now officially closer to 5'3 than 5'2. Multiple takes, just to be sure.19 -

I have a dirty mind, because I didn't look to try to figure out your gender and the second sentence is not where I thought that was going LOL!

Edited to clarify, lol. Although I've heard the other happens too, measuring would not be a fun family holiday activity.15 -
Cold? Amen. I pulled out a heating pad to warm a muscle pull, but now all I want to do is snuggle up to the thing. I feel like a one woman fire hazard. Maybe oughta upgrade.9

I LOVE my electric blanket at work! Recently my couch blankets at home haven't been cutting it, but we just bought our son new bunkbeds and associated bedding. I have commandeered one of the poofy, dragon-covered, fleece backed twin blankets as my couch blanket8 -

I need to get myself one of those heated blankets. One for home and one for work.6 -
I've found that I'm wearing a lot more sweaters than I used to. As much as I would love to curl up in an electric blanket or a heating pad I really can't do that at work.5

My behind hurts when I sit. I feel bones.
My hips and bony knees ache when I sleep on my side, my back hurts when I sleep on my front or back.
It's 3.48am and this sucks.
Seriously. I also thought I would like the feel of being a bit more bony than I currently do. Occasionally I’ll brush a hand over a body part, go “yikes, what is that hard lump!” and then realize it’s just bone. It’s all a little sharper than I expected it to be too.
I even asked my athletic daughter how the heck she gets comfy and she just shrugged.
Does it get easier over time? I'm going to buy pillows today to pad myself out a little. I can only imagine how uncomfortable it'll be when the rest of this weight is gone
At 1st it's like sitting upon a bicycle seat {regardless, of 1's weight}, after a decade of not doing so. I bought an exercise bike, used it once & it hurt so immensely I was sore enough, that I was unable to even walk normally. I went to the store to purchase the largest, thickest package of maxi pads to stuff my pants, plus adhere to the seat with.
Within a week I was reducing the # of maxi pads, until a few weeks later none were necessary. The body eventually conforms, to changes.
Get bicycle shorts. They actually have riding shorts that are built full of padding.7 -

I have one at work too. I've always needed one though even when I was fat. They keep the air conditioning insanely high in most places during the summer.5 -

Don't forget about the chamois cream.

My winter jackets are too baggy now. I’m starting to get a draft come up from the bottom! Definitely didn’t expect that! 🥶13

I can relate to all the being colder posts. I used to work outside in frigid temps all the time and it rarely bothered me, and I kept my furnaces at 66-68 degrees in the winter ....Now the cold chills me to the bone and my heat is set at 70-72 degrees. My weight is going down and gas bills are going up!20

I'm trying to decide if I've goofed up my sunglasses and that's why they seem so wide, or if I've just lost weight from my head. I should go try on some new sunglasses just to see, because I've always had trouble with finding sunglasses because I got a wide head. If more fit, then it might be the head.14

Being able to put on and tie my tennis shoes while standing. I used to have to sit on a chair or the floor because of fat rolls and zero flexibility.21

I lost fat in my scalp and around my face. My glasses (and sunglasses) all got too lose and I remember one day when I was like, "Dang something's different," and then had a double take because my glasses looked so much larger and it was a shock. So... I'd say it's definitely possible that your head changed shape!15 -
You get stabbed a lot more - belt buckles, arm rests, stuff in your pocket - without the fat to cushion it is just stabby, stabby all the time.21

I do carry a decent amount of weight in my face (it definitely shows in my face when I gain weight) so you might be right! I used to be jealous of people who had "normal" looking faces when they were overweight, but now I realize that it's helped me in the wrinkle department and overall youthful look of my face to have the extra weight there now that I'm in a normal weight range. I was recently mistaken for 25 when I'm 32, and I wasn't even wearing any makeup.14 -

Yes! I get that too. I look younger than my age as well. XD

You may still find yourself from time to time staring at your new, smaller-sized trousers and thinking, "There's no way I'll get these on, good grief, look how tiny they look." Then, after they slide right on, no problem, all that goes through your brain for awhile is WHAT SORCERY IS THIS?!48

That when it happens it catches you by surprise and you don't really see it. For a trip away this weekend I decided to take out the clothes I had bought on the "It's a bargain and I will fit into it one day" philosophy. Well they don't fit because they are too big! The charity shop is going to have a bumper December with a stack of brand new garments coming their way.23

That even when you’ve lost the weight you’ll still feel fat/squishy.
I’ve had a goal of 140 for years. I’m just a few pounds away from that, but my stomach is still carrying a lot of extra weight. I guess it should be expected. I had 3 kids (2 c-sections) and a gallbladder surgery all in the span of 5 years.
I know I’ll have to move my goal, but I want to hit it first and celebrate it before the next leg of the journey.16 -

When you reach your goal weight, you will still have the same basic body, just smaller.
That might mean your tummy still has a little pooch or your hips are still rounded...it doesn't mean you necessarily end up with a supermodel figure. Your "problem areas" are often just less of a problem. I lost 44+ pounds and I still can't pull off a bikini, but then I never could. Still happy I lost the weight, though.20 -

Agreed, "tight in the shoulders" has been my mantra no matter what size I am. It's just that now I can easily size up, but I've found I don't like to because then clothes are loose in the stomach.5 -
People are always trying to feed you. It's annoying, no I don't want anything else to eat, I don't want a soda, and I don't want to explain my diet situation to you every time I see you.
If you have friends in healthcare, nurses etc, they ask if "the weight loss is intentional" or "was your blood work normal?"
Family and friends are proud of you. Overly proud, to the point they tell everyone and anyone, including strangers like the waitress at the restaurant and the cashier at the grocery store, how you lost 50 lbs.25 -
Your friends, family, and coworkers:
First, they ask "Are you losing weight?"
Then, they ask "How much weight have you lost?"
Then, they say "You don't need to lose any more weight!"
Then you achieve your goal and they resent you for it.36 -
... I can now fit a RIDICULOUS amount of flotsam in my pockets without stabbing myself every time I sit down...
I'm approaching the tipping point where my pants pockets may or may not have more stuff in them than my bag. >_<
Maybe time to ditch the bag and invest in appropriately sized cargo pants.12
