OH my goodness. I can't even attempt to respond to everyone so will just give an update on my life lol. I am now going to see my midwife every 2 weeks (just went again today), everything is on track for size, heartbeat etc, and I am renting a tub for my homebirth that we have planned. I am now swimming 3x a week, and doing my kettlebell the days I don't swim. I think swimming has helped keep me from swelling up :) This friday my husband and I are going to NY (first timers) to see the sights and eat lots of food. We are also taking in a baseball game, and going to see WICKED (the play). I am pretty excited to have a fun weekend, although I am sure I will be very tired from all the walking and will need a nap each day before we head out for dinner lol. I had my midwife write me a note saying its safe for me to fly, even though spirit lets you fly up until around 34 or 36 weeks. Better safe than sorry right!
Anyway these next 9 weeks are going to fly by I have so much planned to keep me super busy. Have a great weekend everyone!

Have fun in NYC!! My first time was just this past July 4th weekend. We went for our 1 year anniversary. I loved it and can't wait to go back!! We walked a LOT! If you like pizza, Lombardi's and Arturo's are too great places. They were both recommended by Jon Stewart on his show so that's why we ate there. Haha! Also, Rice to Riches has amazing rice pudding and it's just a cool little place. I had never had rice pudding before and it sounded gross, but it was really good. It's just down the street from Lombardi's. There's also a cupcake place at Times Square that is really good. They have awesome red velvet cupcakes. I can't remember the name of if off the top of my head, but it's amazing. :) I think it's something "bake shop", but I can't remember what the "something" is. lol (Sorry I'm giving you awful tips on food, health wise. lol) I could go on and on since it's all pretty fresh in my mind. There's also a huge M&M store at Times Square. :)
Wicked is awesome! We saw it in Seattle a couple years ago. I would love to see it again.

Danger as a middle name is kind of cool. I don't know if I'd use it, but it is really cool that it's a combo of both of your names. And at the end of the day, you guys have to love it, no one else. :) My husband's middle name is Stafford (family name) so if we have a boy we'll probably use that.

    Hi ladies!
I had a really rough night last night, the whole day I literally felt useless and like I could fall asleep at any second, it was horrible.
Then I got home had supper tried to clean a bit and just gave in and had a 40 min nap, then I woke up and just read in bed until 10 and went to sleep again...man I really can't wait until this fatigue goes away! I have so much to do and I feel like I'm not accomplishing much of anything!
My goal tonight is to do my prenatal yoga DVD and then I have a circuit training/weights class tomorrow after work.
I need to go grocery shopping tonight in the WORST way...but the thought of it just exhausts me lol...but I will make myself go right after work so there is NO excuse ;)
I'm really excited I have my next Obgyn appointment next week and get to book my next ultrasound at that appointment - this will be the ultrasound that we hopefully get to see if it's a boy or a girl!! I CAN'T WAIT to find out!! I am SO excited...let the countdown begin!
I am also really wanting to start a project to make a baby blanket, but I think I will wait to find out if the baby is a boy or girl before I start. I am also really excited to start preparing the baby room! EEEEEEEEEE

Anyway...sorry for my ramblings, lol hope everyone is having a good Wednesday! :flowerforyou:

Have no fear.....I have an answer to this one!!! (And why they tell you EVERYTHING else in pregnancy books, but not this one, I'll never know). TOTALLY NORMAL!!! This just happened to me last week (exactly 12wks). Except, there was actual gooey pinkish (?) blood when I wiped. Then that was it, other than a little brown barely there spotting that afternoon & night. It still freaked me out & the first thing I did was call my OB. I ended up going in that afternoon for a heartbeat check (all was perfect). Although, I'm still afraid to push the poop out

Hope you girls are feeling good today!

I need some honest opinions on a middle name. My husband and I chose Tyson as a first name but have been having trouble agreeing on the middle name. I read a magazine article about combining mom and dad's names. We're Danielle and Gerard, which gave me Danger. I was joking at first but then it really grew on me...until my husband just finally broke down and said we could use it. My second choice is Joseph (family middle name).

Would I be that horrible to name my kid Tyson Danger?

I kind of like Danger! That sounds bad *kitten*. I agree that kids usually don't know other kids' middle names and if his middle name is the worst thing he gets teased for, it's not the end of the world. Plus, he'll be so tough no one will want to mess with him.

We conceived on Oaks Day which is the races day before the KY Derby (I live in Louisville so it's a big deal). If we have a boy, his middle name will probably be Oakes.

We find out what we're having in 2 days! I can't wait.

On a side note, we watched the documentary Babies last night. It is just a bunch of video of babies from all over the world - Namibia, Mongolia, Japan, and San Francisco. There is no narration or dialogue really ,but it is so interesting to see how differently babies are raised. It's a good one to check out. We got it on Netflix. If nothing else, you get to watch cute little babies for an hour and a half.

    Hello!
I have been MIA ever since we went on our Alaskan Cruise, and I have stopped logging my food. It was getting too stressful and I needed to let go. But it is great to see that everyone is doing so well! THings are coming along great, and I am finally showing! I have been feeling kicks all week and am just as anxious as you, Better Balance, to find out the sex on the 13th! I have been struggling with Round Ligament Pain so I have had to scale back my workouts which really stresses me out! But if I do only 20 minutes per day of low impact I feel little to no pain in the evenings. Funny that I never had this issue to this extent before. I assume it is because I am so much more active in this pregnancy! And more fit! Happy to hear from all of you new members on the board. Sending prayers your way cutmd!

Hi ladies! It has been 6 days before I get to workout again, mostly between busy and a little lazy. Was hoping for a swimming but my little boy has nursemaid elbow, and I went for a bike ride while waiting for hubby come home from work.

Inspired by Rayna, I think I'll add a prenatal DVD tonight too :-) I'll try to go swimming tomorrow after work, so I won't be able to see my boy (asleep by then).

I have a doctor's appointment this Friday for a check up, just routine, nothing special. Cannot wait for the one after this Friday, which I think I'll have an u/s to find out the sex of the baby. And it's time to take another round of picture, and this time I'll post it.

Had another ultrasound today at my regular ob appt and the mass in my gestational sac is bigger so I could barely see my baby. I did still see a heartbeat so that was reassuring. Dr. said he's still worried because he's "never seen anything like it". I see the Perinatal Specialist tomorrow morning so hopefully I'll have some answers as to what the mass is and how it's going to affect my baby. My weight is up 3 lbs and I don't see how since I'm watching my calorie intake and exercising. Oh well, hopefully my weight gain will slow down! I just want my baby to be okay. Please continue to pray! Thanks everyone

Hi ladies! Great to see so much chatter!

Andrea, hope you have a blast in NYC.

Ash, I haven't noticed any pelvic shocks with sneezing, but have noticed it occasionally with urinating lately....very strange sensation! But I do think it's normal....

Danielle, I think children's names are so personal...if you and your husband love Danger - go for it! It does imply a strong guy and as someone else said, many times kids don't even know each others middle names.

Deanie0515, hope things are going better for you - nice to see you.

Kalee, glad the infection sounds like it is getting better. These next eight weeks will fly by!

Ashley, love your positive words on body image. I also think Oakes is very cute ;-)

Kristy, you crack me up with all the food recommendations. Sounds just like me - many of our travels revolve around food and where we can eat while on our adventures. Happy to hear you weathered the storm with no real damage.

Taldie01, great work with the jog - don't worry about slowing down....I feel like a real slug these days.....

Rayna, you are getting close to the time that your energy should start to return. Hang in there!

Cutmd, thinking of you and sending a flood of prayers your way.

Autumn, great to see you. Isn't feeling the baby movement way too cool?

Atomdraco, wishing you a great workout today. I've loved doing yoga during pregnancy!

Sylvia, flooding prayers your way too! I'm guessing most of your gain right now is first trimester bloat. Wishing nothing but good information from your appointment tomorrow.

Amy, hope you are enjoying your maternity leave and that all is well with you and the baby.

My sister keeps teasing me and saying that I need to get back to an eight minute mile to get this bambino to make his/her entrance....don't think I can manage that, but did manage about a 9.5 this morning :-) 40 weeks and still running, who knew I'd be able to do this? My body has absolutely amazed me throughout pregnancy!! Saw my ticker - "baby between 5-11 pounds" - 11 pounds, wholly cow! this bambino better not even be close to that!

    Wishing everyone a great day!

    Hi All!

I'm new here and crossing fingers that I will be staying in this group. I have some very important questions but first I'll give you a very quick history:

Had my first child nearly 4 years ago (10/8/07). MC'd my 2nd child on 6/5/11...should have been almost 10 weeks, found out Bunny stopped developing at 7. MC'd naturally on 6/9/11...doc said no need to wait to start trying again after bleeding stopped. Bleeding stopped completly by 7/2/11.

    Post MC:

First day of Period #1 on 7/18

First day of Period #2 on 8/14 (long one...9 days total including spotting days)

    "Tried" on 20th, 21st, 23/24th & 27th *sorry if this is TMI*

Had a small amount of pinkish-brownish spotting TODAY (8/31)...only 18 days since first day of last pd.

So what do you guys think? Could this be implantation bleeding?

I never had it w/ pregnancy #1 or 2. Trying not to be too anxious going crazy or excited bouncing but, it dose not seem like an early period...it was a very small amount and that's it...and no period symptoms.

If you do think it's implantation bleeding, how much longer do you think it will be before I test positive?

ALSO, I decided to lose some weight while waiting to conceive (lost 9 lbs in the last 6 weeks or so) and MFP has me at 1440 calories per day (more when I work out). Do you think I should switch to maintenance calories now just in case I am prego?

    Hoping & Praying,

    Amanda

    Hi everyone,

    Welcome to everyone new.

Thanks for the prayers and thoughts from everyone also. I spent most of yesterday laying with my feet above my heart, which totally helped with the swelling. I can actually get my wedding ring on now. So as for the swelling that's better for now. Doctor said to increase water even more, rest more often and really watch my sodium. She also said it's probably too soon for preeclampsia, so I hope she's right and I don't get it at all!!!!

After picking up my son from football practice, we went home I started filling out ppwk, while having a headache for 4 days, some swelling and a bad back ache. I thought I would just have a super lazy night! Well I was wrong! Starting getting HORRIBLE pains in my stomach, wasn't sure if they were contractions but they felt like it, then they moved to my back!! So I'm freaking out, can't get ahold of my husband, and it's just me and my 7 year old at home. I call the hospital and she said it's probably contractions so go get checked. So 8:00 at night, I head to the closest hospital and once I get there, find out my blood pressure is super high, protein in my urine and I have a horrible kidney infection which is causing contractions. So here I am thinking I'm making progress because the swelling went down and that should've been the least of my worries. So they gave me a pain pill (which I hated to take), and some strong antibiotics and told me to rest for the next few days but drink a ton of water. So hopefully by this weekend I'll feel better. Also to add to the back pain, they baby is growing and making my pelvis tilt so that's adding additional pressure on my back. So far, I can't say I'm feeling better, but I did get some sleep last night and plan to go to bed super early tonight. Zack will be home tonight to help with Isaac. Doctor plans to keep my regular appt for Tuesday and see how things are going then. One bit of good news is the baby was moving around, and hb was 150-160, and she said it was a good strong hb. That made me so happy I started bawling!!! Anyway, hope everyone else is doing great!!!

I remember when you posted about this before, I remember not thinking it was a big deal but of course when it happened to ME it freaked me out! It's only been a tiny bit of brown since but GOD I have never been so unhappy to see blood in my life! I tried to remain calm but I did email my OB and ask her if she'd order a serial HCG. At least my 10 week ultrasound is next week so I should have an answer soon. Thanks all for your prayers. I know whatever is meant to happen will happen, but it's still a bit nerve-racking. Puts my thigh worries into perspective, for sure - maybe that was God's point  I saw my PCP yesterday and she said not to worry about the weight gain so far and my thighs, she felt I should gain 35lbs based on where I was starting from in terms of BF - we'll just see about that :ohwell:

Autumn, thank you, I hope you had fun on your cruise and I think walking/other low impact stuff is just fine! Excited for you to find out the sex!

atomdraco, make sure you POST that bump!

80lbslost, that’s scary that the mass is growing! I will be praying for you and your little one and anxiously awaiting updates. HOWEVER, your baby hasn’t entered his or her rapid growth phase yet – when they do, they usually give these masses a run for their money and overpower them

Holly, maybe you need to take up plyo to help the baby come out? Cozy in there, isn’t he/she?

Mikaelas_Mommy/Amanda, Implantation bleeding is usually 2 weeks after conception, so it’s POSSIBLE, but I would not change anything or get my hopes up until you miss your period. Sometimes the pregnancy test will be positive around implantation time but it is what you call a “chemical pregnancy”, where the embryo starts forming but there are so many problems with it the body nixes it and decides to go ahead with the next period. Early testing can lead to unnecessary disappointment, IMO. Best of luck!

mistibergman, so sorry to hear about your illness. That swelling did sound ominous. Thank God you are improving and that the baby is okay.

In lighter news, did everyone see that Beyonce is pregnant? I don’t usually follow celebrities, but this pregnancy should be divalicious!

    Thanks ladies for your opinions!

Cutmd - I had that happen to me as well. I think no matter what we know could be normal, it still scares you when it actually happens to you.

Better Balance - yay for finding out the sex soon! I wish I could have the patience to wait and be surprised, but I'm not patient at all!

    Enjoy your day!

Cutmd ~ I know what you mean. When you see it happen to someone else, it's like "why the heck are they freaking out? Blood during pregnancy is totally normal"....But then it happens to you & total freak out! For me, I was super worried b/c I hadn't had ANY spotting or blood whatsoever til that point. An extra freak out was that I did IVF, so I had just recently stopped taking my estrogen & progesterone. Then I was thinking "Crap, now that everyone (family & friends) know, we'll have to tell them otherwise". So many things go through your head. I just couldn't believe that w/ all that I had read (both in books & online), nothing was mentioned about vaginal blood coming out after pooping! Talk about traumatic!

Good and bad news.....heard baby's heartbeat today but Dr. found a mass growing in my gestational sac and he doesn't know what it is. I'm being referred to a specialist and need to limit my activity level. Guess I'll be walking for exercise for awhile until we figure out what's growing with my baby

So sorry to hear that- hope they find out what it is SOON and that it turns out to be nothing to be worried about!!

Back from my specialist appt. with good news! Baby's heart rate is 133bpm and Dr. said it looks healthy. Dr. thinks that the "mass" is either a twin that didn't develop or a small placental cyst. The good news is that it doesn't have blood flow to it so it can't get bigger...yay! He said that I still have a 10% chance of miscarrying so I'm just cautiously optimistic. I see specialist again in 5 weeks for my first trimester screen and genetic counseling since I'm "advanced maternal age". I'll probably get to know the gender at that 12 week appt. Yay for frequent ultrasounds!!! Thanks for the prayers!
