I'm 54. I'd like to play, here, too. I have 25 regained pounds to drop, soooooo. It happened over the course of five years, and most of it during the last one. I did it before, I can do it again.

weight loss is still pretty recent for me so all my bigger clothes are still taking up room in my closet - guess I should do something about this weekend

Hope all you middle agers are kicking some butt today!

When do you all decide to donate all of your clothes in that particular size that is too big for you?

Or do you all have one back up in that size that is too big for you because you fluctuate with time of the month menstruation or holiday treats?

Or do you even keep a back up two sizes bigger than what you are now?

Or do you just donate it all and never look back?

Just before I was compelled to seriously diet, I had purchased a pair of Duluth Trading Post Firehose Jeans. They're not cheap. Wore them once and really liked 'em. Then I lost 25-ish pounds over the summer. When I tried them on earlier this Fall...OMG, they were YUGE!! Immediately put them on Craig's list, get 'em outta here. I don't even want to remember that at, one point, I thought that was a good idea.

So happy!!!! Had my three and a half month post surgery follow up and the surgeon and his assistant were very pleased. I don't have to go back! I can and should be doing all that I am, i.e. weights and building my strength. There was a second where the assistant had the dates wrong and I was about to get in trouble for curling but I corrected them. Haha.
If you're putting off having something like a shoulder repaired I say just go for it. You'll hear horror stories but some work well. I won't be fully healed for at least a year but no one would ever know I've had anything done yay

    Awesome news!
My mom is young, but due to arthritis, needed a hip replacement and put it off for years!
She had her surgery Nov and is smooth sailing...so happy she did it and wished she did it sooner!

Glad to hear the recovery is going well
  • So, how do you become a member to this club? I’m on the older end of it 😂. Plus I would love to have some friends around that age as well.

It's crazy why do we put these things off?
I guess in orthopedic terms they have a difference scale of old and young. Now I have to work on this scapular winging. I thought everyone's shoulder blades stick out.

I was pushing her because since she is young/healthy..recovery usually better...

So cool to see a community to provide and receive support. Just starting my journey. 1st week completed yesterday. Down 11 lbs. already. Long way to go but moving in the right direction. Realize this is gonna slow and I'll have my ups and downs but loving the moment. It feels great!

By the way how do you add friends?

Click on their profile name until you get to their profile and there will be a button saying add as a friend. It's always nice to include a little message with your request as to why you want to be friends. Good luck!

I had a dramatic start to the day. There was a suspected terrorist car outside the office; we were not allowed in until the Bomb Squad had done their thing.

It wasn't too bad. I went for a walk; I am now on 15,600 steps (just after lunch). I am going climbing later, so my calories out today will be a lot.

The client's office does seem quite eventful. Police were out in force last week due to a murder just outside it.

The office is in Croydon. David Bowie used to say: "I think it's the most derogatory thing I can say about somebody or something: 'God, it's so *kitten* Croydon'!"

His half-brother was committed to a Croydon asylum, and killed himself here.

It's not too bad. I've spent a lot of time in worse places.

I used to live in Toxteth in Liverpool, which was good fun, but way higher risk than Croydon. (I was mugged 4 times in about 3 years when I was there in the 1990s.)

^^^ geez. The only things we get are car break ins and thefts and bank robberies. I think the nearby (end of our street) bank has been held up twice in the 6 years we've lived here.

It's another school strike day here in Ontario. Tomorrow out local board strikes. We visited my mom today. Tomorrow we'll do something fun. Just not sure what yet. Maybe hit up some outdoor rinks. Happy almost weekend everyone

    Happy Thursday all,

    Checking in:
Kicking my teddy bear tonight. Age is catching up with me. I'm making an appointment to get cortisone injections for knee pain. Training for a race in April, I'm not going to let this be a set back.

Happy Thursday all. I’m still working my way back into prioritizing my health. Add me if you have a sense of humor and aren’t too politically correct all the time!
