September Century plus cycling challenge

Options
Hey cyclists: Summer should start cooling down soon for the U.S., and it's time to get a few more miles before the autum starts eating up the daylight hours.

How many miles do you think you can cycle in September? Each 100mi = one century. I've had to cut back quite a bit because of my schedule and the temperatures, but it's time to get back up to speed.

I am challenging myself to 200 miles (again) for September.

Come back each time you cycle and post your numbers. If you have a special experience while cycling, we want to know about it too. I'll tally it up for the month, and let you know how we all did. Last few months we've topped 3K total. Let's see how much more we can do together.

200 miles. Live in Wisconsin so this will be a challenge as the weather starts to turn. This month I've logged 178 miles and my goal was 200. I MIGHT get in 10-12 miles today but w/ 4 kiddo's starting school tomorrow, I am not sure if this will be possible. But....I will shoot for it again next month.

Well - i'll have a go at this I reckon - I'm just recovering from a bit of knee surgery, and currently restricted to no more than 90 minutes riding at a time, but I'm seeing the specialist next week and hopefully will get the all clear to step things up a little.

Just in case I don't I'd better set a fairly conservative target - let's say 200 miles for now

Excuse the newbie question, but how do we declare this? I can get the Km's from my Garmin 705 and convert to miles easy enough - is it just a case of posting

    date - miles - cumulative

or do we do links to endomondo/garmin connect/something else??

hopefully it's just the miles, as my current speeds are so terrible - as I say, doctors orders - no more than 90 minutes, no more than 70% of HrMax, no hills (yeah right!)

I have to think about this some. August isn't over but I dont expect to do any more miles tonight as I am traveling. I have had two months in a row at 500 each bro I go for another 500 or do I not. Decisions decisions. Well posting at least this in my recent post to fine it again. LOL. Will let you all know later b

    Count me in for September!

I ended up with 345 miles in August but don't know if I can hit that again. Saturday is the start of college football season for my boys so that will pretty much wipe out my Saturdays for riding (not to mention the pros on Sunday)--what can I say I am a sports fanatic!

So that being said, I will try for 250 this month.

Here Goes then... made a steady, if not spectacular start to the month...

1/9/2011 - 24.39Km - Total 24.39Km (15.16 miles) - local loop out of the front door, warm, sunny, gentle breeze

Do I dare put in for 600? It is possible and it would get me to 3000 for the year. That would be nice. Oh decisions decisions decisions. What is one to do.

Can we do time in the saddle? I've been training pretty heavily on the road this summer, but I'm going to be getting back to mtn biking soon. I don't have a computer on my mtn bike (or my trainer for that matter), but I think it would be cool to do hours.

My goal for September is going to be 200 miles. I need to get in more pavement time on my feet for upcoming half and full marathons so I'll have to cut back on the bike a bit. I got in 323 mile for August.

100 for me again. Nowhere close last month. Will finish up my sprint tri training in 2 weeks, but then need to focus on running. I should still be able to get in at least one good ride a week and pick up a few miles here and there.

Did 11.25 last night on the new bike!! 89.75 to go. Finally took it out for a ride. SWEET!! It's a road bike so it's much lighter and faster than the old hybrid that I had. No mishaps with the toe clips...yet. I am still getting used to them.

Ok I am in for 200. Thant has been my goal for the past two months and I am yet to hit it. Going on vacation for 10 days and will be doing lots of riding so I should be able to make it this month.

    Happy Cycling to all.

Some of you guys crack me up. You exceeded your starting goal for the month and post as if you didn't even come close. I've also seen some exellent mile increases. Not everyone met their goal, I know I didn't, but this is a new month, and I just need to get some miles in...period.
