Starting a log to keep myself motivated.
Will be lifting weights 2 a week and doing some cardio too. Will log my diet too.
Starting out on mantinance calories and see how I go if need to lower them

Hopefully get rid of some midsection fat and build some kind of muscle 😀8 -
You can do it man. Log your meals, weigh your food, and start lifting!5

There's plenty of Dads who would be very pleased with that Bod as it is. It's a good starting point. Enjoy your endeavours. I wish you every success. Well done for laying off the beer.7

<< Dad bod - counting calories, which I do not do regularly and lifting, which I do regularly3

Decent day of food so far today apart from full English breakfast in the works canteen this morning! Will end up at 2950 calories for the day with 150 protein. Gym tomorrow hopefully though can be hard after 12 hour shift!1

14 thousand steps today at work so will count as cardio!3

Decent workout yesterday in the gym.
Good day of eating too so can’t complain, last shift of the week today till Sunday night which is when I normally get the urge to have some beers but will try to limit the amount0 -
Tonight’s beer of choice. Lower in calories than my usual Stella!3 -
I'm a dad. I don't seem to have dad bod. Does that make my body a faux pa?20

I’ve decided to go into a slight calorie surplus probably about 150- 200 extra per day as feel need to build some muscle on my frame as I’m 6 foot tall and currently weigh 185 pounds and feel skinny in clothes. Any advice or suggestions would be welcome1

Eat more food, lift weights, progress said lifts, assess progress every month. Rinse and repeat. Good luck5

Is there an actual progression scheme to that? There's a huge number of plans that could represent from doing an undulating block program with microplate loading with wave loading patterns, to just going to the gym, hitting something on your upper body and something on your lower, and calling it a day twice a week.0 -

Yes always looking to progress each workout with extra reps or heavier weight.
Each workout has a chest, shoulders, back and leg movement using compond lifts.1 -
I'm a fan of P90X and Body Beast, but I think there are lots of lifting plans available for beginners.1

Sounds like it might be some variant of Starting Strength.0
