LisaInAr-I know how you feel about enjoying the visit but wanting life back to normal.Sorry you won’t see the 8 year old,I know that feeling as well. But maybe you’ll get a chance soon.

Lisa, Bernie is like Egg about visitors. Since he is an indoor cat, he can't hide outdoors when people come so he hides under the bed.
NYKaren,, glad to hear about the progress of your wrist especially since it is such an integral part of your daily life. Sticking to your routines is so important.
Rori, I am thinking good thoughts about your husband continuing to enjoy his day care venue. It will be so good for both of you.
All is the same here. Line dance today followed by pork chop lunch cooked by Jake.

At church on Sunday they were going over how to greet one another without touching. I added my Kindergarten hug. When I taught Kindergarten they student would want to rush a new adult they knew coming into the room with hugs. I taught they to give themselves a big hug to themselves face the person and send their hug to that person. It is not quite as good as a real hug. Still it did promote good feelings.
So Kindergarten hugs to all my friends here at MFP.

Did One-One Training with Jackie DVD today. I realized I already owned it! So I’d be willing to sell that one. The plan for tomorrow is to do Jillian Michael 10 Minute Body DVD. I KNOW I don’t have that one (or at least I’m pretty certain that I don’t)
I also found the Yoga for Belly Butt and Thigh DVD that I owned two copies of, so I’d be willing to sell that one.
Kylia – thanks for the info about inputting your weight. Any clue as to under which tab it is? Oh, I see that I can enter my weight on my tablet but not on my desktop.
Barbara – I use Chrome but it appears that I can do it from my tablet
Got a call from WalMart yesterday. It seems that even with insurance, my Lamictal will cost over $500. So today I’ll call the MD office. I’m sure he’s dealt with this before update: left a message for his assistant.
Katla – my understanding is that the UK isn’t getting the same treatment as Europe because the UK isn’t part of the EU. Why that should influence this is beyond me. It seems that lately your dh has been having a lot of blood sugar episodes. I’m sure it’s very very scary for you (and him). A talk with his doctor might show up something, maybe even bloodwork. We all change as we get older and maybe his body has changed.
Mary6 – you look AWESOME!!! I know that it’s so hard to see, but trust me, you do look awesome. Your mind may never see it.
M – did you have any doubt you’d pass your course? I didn’t…..

Brain 🧠 fog 🌫 morning. Still JRs too hyper (energized bunny 🐰 hoppin around) to sleep normal so tired. Trying to get him on a schedule before the time change then the time change messed it up worse.

All I need is for someone behind me on the bus to sneeze and I've got "droplets" in my hair. Run my hand through my hair ... and voila! COVID-19.
M in Oz
Ah, yes. Public transport. I forget the germs crawling around on those vehicles. I live where public transport is a joke, so I don't really think about taking it. I also work from home, so don't have to leave the house, if I don't want to.
We are actually looking for events we usually avoid due to crowds and considering going to them because they will be much less crowded. Unfortunately, many things are being cancelled. Had two conferences cancelled yesterday and expect a third today. I'm pretty sure my rockabilly festival will be cancelled in the next couple of days.
As for my conferences being cancelled, I don't really care so much. I don't go to them. I just book travel and have to cancel travel and keep track of the credits. So, it's not a big deal, it just shows how freaked out people are.

Well it looks like DH & I will have to postpone our anniversary trip . I know it's right thing to do but still disappointed about it. We've wanted to go to Seattle for several years and finally had everything fall into place so we could go this year. I'll need to cancel/reschedule our flights/hotel/car rental/etc - hoping we can make it work in late summer or early fall, depends on when we can both get the time off work. We had considered going now even with what's going on, but we wouldn't be able to do a lot of the things we wanted to do while we were there and it would cause issues when we got home. DH works at a nursing home/assisted living place and I work at a school so chances are we wouldn't be allowed back at work for a couple weeks after the trip. In fact, the school where I work is on spring break next week so we're taking advantage of no students here to do a deep cleaning of the facilities and everyone who possibly can will be working from home, including me. There's also the possibility that after that we'd go to online only. Several schools here have already gone to online only or extended their springs breaks for another week. We've only had one local confirmed case of the virus here but I would expect we will get more - doesn't seem like anyplace is immune to it.

Heather I know it was hard to stay home. I think you made the right decision.

Carol: The truck did stop. More importantly DH manages to contain his temper.
Debbie: Prayers for your boss going forth.
Flea: Glad for the flexibility; hopefully things will calm down in a couple of months.
Amber: You made a great point about the differences in incubation periods. With all the hype I’ve been feeling like if I caught it I would be sickened unto death but I’ve come to realize that it could be just a mild illness but it could be life threatening. There is just no way to know.
Lanette: I am grateful for local grocery store pickup and delivery not just now but everyday.
Debby: Sending prayers for you DH and GS. That was really awful that they did not let him know.
Rori: Glad you were able to locate Mars quickly and that you have such lovely neighbors.
Karen: Fabulous before and after pictures! Congratulations!
For the past several months I’ve been dealing with scabby, itchy spots spreading up my body from my feet to my shoulders. I’ve been through three doctors and finally got to a dermatologist who hazarded a guess that I have nummular dermatitis. The first doctor (a weight loss specialist) told me that my body was off balance and I needed to drink more water and use Aquaphor. The second gave me two different creams, some prednisone, and another antibiotic and told me to use it and if it didn’t clear up go to see a rheumatologist because it would mean it had entered my bloodstream. The third doctor gave me more cream to control the itch and said go to a dermatologist which I did. It is awful. I feel like I am going to claw my skin off. Thank goodness it is not contagious. The dermatologist did some tests and a biopsy. So she let me know I don’t have any sort of infection and she could give me a steroid shot for itching and that we could discuss the biopsy findings next week when I come in to have the stitches removed from the biopsy. Meanwhile I am slathering on the petroleum based cortisteroid to control the itching as well as taking loratadine, montelukast, and 3 benedryls to try to keep it from spreading. DH said he was amazed that I wasn’t having any problems with our high pollen count. How could I as I’m living on antihistamines.
We've been put on notice that we might be teleworking until further notice if the Coronavirus cases continue to rise in the City of Richmond. In the meantime we all had to submit teleworking agreements. I put mine in for a permanent change allowing me to telework on Mondays from now on! That is a plus!

I'm having a bit a bit of panic..so I spoke to the tax preparer and was in for a bit of a shock.. I pay quarterly to the state and IRS because I get alimony.. I am working part time and somehow when my boss took over they messed up the w4 and didnt withdraw enough. So on top of the quarterly payments I owe 2300.00 that's rediculous...ugh no my stomach is churning6

Grandmallie- Go to the IRS set up payments

Rebecca: What a fabulous graph you just posted! It is proof that you are succeeding. WTG!!!
Mary: You are beauatiful. :flowerforyou:
Machka: Congrats on your academic success. I am not surprised that you passed the course with high marks. You’re brilliant and motivated. I love the Star Trek greeting from Spock.
Rori: I am pleased that your DH is having a good experience with the VA group. It is good for him, and also for you.
Margaret: Your kindergarten hugs are a brilliant way for people to show caring without health worries.
Michele: Thanks for your kind words about DH. His doctor was notified of the low blood sugar episode. He does a good job of managing his food/insulin balance but on this occasion, he didn’t take good care of himself by eating appropriately. I was out of the house at a meeting and came home to find paramedics giving DH IV sucrose. I’m glad that they came. It has been a few years since the last time this happened. The whole experience left me stressed out. :flowerforyou:
(((Allie)))
I have nothing on my schedule for today. YAY!!!!! Between DH’s medical emergency and my parking lot fender/bender I’ve had all the stress I can handle and then some. The headache and anxious feelings are easing a bit. Dull and boring sounds very good.

Allie - I guess since your hours vary you didn’t notice you were getting more take home pay? Having to pay is always a big shock. I know that if I didn’t withhold extra we would have to pay. When they changed The W-4 a year or so ago they made announcements that people would owe if they didn’t change their W4. Perhaps that’s what got you?

The Government has just announced advice that the over 70s and those in poor health should not go on cruises.
Hoping for a phone call and maybe a good offer.
Allie - Get some advice. Sounds like a lot of money.
Katla - glad you are feeling more like your old self. Bad DH. Naughty boy. I was watching a programme yesterday and the diabetic guy said he has breakfast just before he goes to bed.
My difficult friend is not going to the restaurant we had booked.
The COBRA meeting was very helpful to us. Awaiting results from Saga. I watched the announcement live. With bated breath.

JanetO: If world health worries resolve in time, fall in the Pacific NW can be gorgeous and is often a better choice than spring. This year fall and winter have been warmer and dryer than usual here in the Pacific NW. I hope that carries to the time you are able to come to WA State and feel safe about it. I am not planning to fly any where until this world health crisis is over. :noway:
This March will be 50th wedding anniversary. We hope to have our children and grandchildren come and visit the site where we were married. The actual wedding occurred in March, but our current plan is to have the celebration this summer and celebrate family birthdays at the same time. We will have to work around the world health crisis. I don’t want any of my kids exposed to the virus. We can schedule the celebration when air travel is safe, even if our 50th anniversary celebration turns into a 51st celebration.

Hi Ladies,
I ran across some Covid 19 info I hadn't seen before. I avoid watching the news about it anymore and reading anything other than official info put out by the CDC and our local health department. Here goes....
According to Shenzhen Hospital (Guangdong Province, China) here is the most recent update on important findings:
THE SYMPTOMS
It will first infect the throat, so you’ll have a sore throat lasting 3 / 4 days
The virus then blends into a nasal fluid that enters the trachea and then the lungs, causing pneumonia. This takes about 5 / 6 days further.
With the pneumonia comes high fever and difficulty in breathing.
The nasal congestion is not like the normal kind. You feel like you’re drowning. It’s imperative you then seek immediate attention.
If you have a runny nose and sputum, you have a common cold
Coronavirus pneumonia is a dry cough with no runny nose.
This new virus is not heat-resistant and will be killed by a temperature of just 80 degrees F (It appears to hate the Sun).
Contagion and Prevention:
If someone sneezes with it, it takes about 10 feet before it drops to the ground and is no longer airborne.
If it drops on a metal surface it will live for at least 12 hours – so if you come into contact with any metal surface – wash your hands as soon as you can with a bacterial soap.
On fabric it can survive for 6-12 hours. normal laundry detergent will kill it.
Drink water. When droplets enter the mouth, they can be flushed in the stomach and destroyed by stomach acid. If they sit in the mouth, it will enter the sinuses and lung.
Drinking warm water is effective for all viruses. Try not to drink liquids with ice.
You should also gargle as a prevention. A simple solution of salt in warm water will suffice.
Wash your hands frequently as the virus can only live on your hands for 5-10 minutes, but – a lot can happen during that time – you can rub your eyes, pick your nose unwittingly and so on.

That happened with my subbing too. They changed the withholding amounts this year so your part time work might have been under the theshold for withholding and/ or the government reduced the amount to withhold. I think they did this on purpose hoping we would go out and spend more.
We are more than likely going to owe taxes too this year. I agree contact IRS and set up a payment schedule.
It does sound like there might will be breathing room this year in that they will delay filing. Have your tax preparer go over what you think you will need to pay next year. I know they expect timely payments. One year we had a windfall late in the year. I tried to pay more taxes to cover it. The still charged us a penalty because we paid the extra late in the year. We missed the cyrstal ball that year. We were also late with one of payments this year and will more than likely have a penalty for that.
In future check your pay stubs. It will say on the stubs how much they take out for taxes. If none or not enough is taken out adust your quarterly payments. You could also adjust how much is taken out with a W4 form.
Sorry this happened to you.3 -
Kiwi, KarenVA, Michele, Katla , thanks for the feedback! I know it’s psychological, but whenever I over eat I stop weighing myself and mentally give up! It’s like I sabotage myself! I would get down to my maintenance weight and yo-yo back up 10 pounds sometimes more. Does anyone know how to stop this cycle? I am at my lowest weight now and I’m trying to slowly lose excess fat and add muscle, but I noticed this pattern of self sabotage rearing it’s ugly head!
Thanks for your support!

The upside of covid-19 is that my BFF, her hub (my hubs BFF) and their daughter are headed here instead of going to Paris. They cancelled their trip last night and rerouted here. I'm not sure how long they'll be here, but I'm ready. I did forget limes at the grocery store so we'll have to go back. I know they are going to want mai-tais and I can't make those without LOTS of limes. I'm seeing a patio therapy session for our neighborhood friends in my future this weekend.
We are having our trees trimmed and three dead trees taken down. They have the dead ones down and the back pasture trimmed. They are working on the front yard and side yard simultaneously. I hope they finish today. If not, they can do it tomorrow without us . Heck, they may have to finish tonight without us, the friends want Lupe Tortilla beef fajitas for dinner and we will probably head out around 6:30. They didn't wrap up last night until almost 8.

auntiebk, my eldest daughter’s children are 28, 22, 19 & 14. Between jobs, school and children, they’re providing help on the days they can. Her husband is flying in from CA next Wed and will be there until Sunday. He’s on a last-minute push to finish a job down there. That’s why my help mud-week and day of surgery is so important.
