03/16 164.6 1,041 Calories, 15 Carbs, 12 Net Carbs, and 3,431 steps. Today is a sad day for me. Last day to visit my mom at the nursing home. No visitors until further notice. I have to say and agree it’s one of the best ways to keep her safe. The virus is officially here in our community. To everyone stay safe and be caring citizens to all.
03/17
@carol7878 Oh Carol, I am so sorry. That is so sad. Even though you agree it's the best way to keep her safe, I know that is so hard for you and her. Hopefully, with all the early precautions, the 'curve' as they talk about will flatten out and this will end sooner rather than later. Thinking about everyone during this scary and uncertain time
Thank you and MollyReallyHungry for your kind words and suggestions. My mom has Alzheimer’s and is on Hospice. So it’s very hard to speak to her on the phone only confuses her. She has a great roommate that I’m keeping in touch with and a good staff that reassured me. Thanks for understanding 🙏7 -
69 years old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion... ...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.
We used to walk 5 miles a day. A pinched nerve and back surgery side-lined me for about a year. Then I had back surgery. Now I'm waiting to get my hip fixed. Hip Doc said surgery in April. Ugh! I can't do any walking or biking...both kill me. I see my personal trainer three times a week. She is taking it very slow and easy with me.
I have March 10th as my hip surgery date...much better than April!

03/10 121.0 Amy couldn’t make it to the gym so I went by myself yesterday. Today is the last day of antibiotics for the infected bug bite. I’m so glad! I don’t like eating early and late!

03/12 121.0 Possibly 2 softball games today as Granddaughter’s tournament starts at 11. Game 2 at 4:30.
03/13 120.5 Our girls won the morning game and my daughter texted me that the afternoon game and tournament were cancelled. All extracurricular, sports, etc, activities in the school district have been due to COVID-19 and then the governor declared a state of emergency in Nevada yesterday afternoon.
03/14 120.0 Had a nightmare, needed to pee, couldn’t go back to sleep, awake since 4am. Gave up and got up at 4:55. Now as I am about to post, slightly before 6am, my stomach is growling! I have never been a breakfast person! WTH???
03/15 118.5. Holy Moly! I didn’t eat early yesterday, I broke my fast after noon with a cheeseburger on 2 cheddar chaffles. I can’t believe another round is almost over!
03/16 121.0 Greek salad and 1/2 pita yesterday. Oh the carbs -almost twice my daily allowance at 37 g total7 -
@carol7878 & @IsMollyReallyHungry and all others who can't visit their loved ones due to the dreaded Coronovirus. It is very hard and especially for those vulnerable people who suffer with dementia & do not understand that there is a reason why their loved ones can;t visit them for their own good. Some years ago, the care home that my father was in ( he very recently passed away) had serious cases of winter 'flu and found it necessary to go into "lock down" to eradicate the infection. They did lose a couple of the most vulnerable residents, but did successfully manage the virus. However, my Dad really suffered; he deteriorated during those two weeks due to not having visits from family, he did bounce back a little, but didn't really get back to the pre 'flu condition.
Use technology where you can with the help of the homes to have video 'phone contact, that does help.
Also as others have said on here, keep safe everyone, & keep washing your hands !! But remember this;

Round 107 - March 8 to 17
Female, 5’, 67 years. SW – 165.8, GW – 164 something, UGW – 140.
Goals: continue with 12 hr. IF, see if I can complete my tracking every day and get to the gym 3x a week and not eat back the cals. Getting some exercise the non-gym days would be a great bonus.
Day/Weight/Comment
03/08 – 166.2 Did not count this as my start weight as it seemed like a blip up for no reason – except weighing 1 ½ hrs. earlier thanks to time change and getting up earlier on Sundays.
03/09 – 165.8 Stuck to IF last night but did not chart. Sticking to it tonight as Mondays are usually my downfall.
03/10 – 165 – Despite my resolve had a snack last night but kept it small and a healthy choice. NSV went to bed at a decent hour even though my body still is on old time.
03/11 – 164.8 – Back to the beginning of the last round. Anything below this feels like some progress. IF – 13 hrs. Did not track, need a new battery for my scale.
03/12- 164.8
03/13 – 164.6 – IF – 13 hrs. Did not track, but did get a new battery for my scale. Big push on finishing painting the bedroom as we are getting company next week. Managed not to stress snack in the evening though and got to see my little reward on the scale.
03/14 - 165
03/15 – 163.6 – Haven’t seen this number in awhile. It may be partly due to dehydration but will enjoy it anyway. Had a crazy day yesterday – 4 hrs. driving, a loooong group practice, a little shopping and ran out of tea and water. Did buy some milk-to-go and drank a bunch after I got home. Was fairly careful on what I ate. Someone, bless her soul, brought zucchini squares and cookies to practice. The zucchini squares were like quiche filling (eggs, zucchini, herbs, etc.) baked in a pan and cut. Definitely going to try this idea for travel/snacks. I passed on the cookies. Cold germs that I have been fighting all winter kicked back into gear so am taking a relax day today.
03/16 – 164.2 – There is the hydration back up but still down more than a lb. Coughing away and not feeling too hungry but still not too bad. No Covid-19 in our area of BC yet and the weather is warming up. We are still fine here for groceries. It seems to be the cities that are out of everything. My daughter is right by Calgary, AB, and it’s bizarre there but the small towns still have everything.

03/08 - 361.0 - A surprising little bounce back. Also, I realized my heartrate was too high while I was exercising (cardio vs. fat burn). Now I'm using my TickrFit to live monitor my heartrate.
03/09 - 363.0 - The time change really screwed me up over the weekend. Well... the weekend is over and it's time to get back to it.
03/10 - 362.2 - There we go, but in the right direction again. Sill using the eliptical, but keeping the heartrate between 100 to 112 (70% of my max). Gonna try some kettlebell later.
03/11 - 362.0 - Still going down. I'd like to see sub-360 before the end of this round. This might be my first plateau. I've just gotta persevere.
03/12 - 361.0 - And the beat goes on. Went to the gym (Planet Fitness) this morning and the place was very empty. Coronavirus anyone? I take a wipe in with me to use before I use the eliptical, then use their wipes at the end. When you've got a senior parent (82 y.o. mom) with respiratory problems, you take precautions.
03/13 - 360.4 - I tried the scale @ Planet Fitness this morning just before coming home and using my own. It showed me 2.6 lbs. heavier. The trend down continues. And an interview on Monday, so hopefully...
03/14 - 360.8 - Won't be using that scale @ Planet Fitness in the near future... it's now CLOSED. I packed my gym bag this morning and checked my email just before I left. Email from PF that, per the Governor of PA, all essential businesses are closed for 2+ weeks. I guess I'll be walking outside now. I hope my knees hold up. Of course, I could always blame this on my decision to order a pizza and cheesy bread yesterday. Figures...
03/15 - 359.7 - Another small victory. Under 360. Went to the local school to walk their track like I had been doing from November thru January when my knees began hurting too much. Track is locked. So I walked around the school itself. Only about 2.5 miles for the journey, but I worked up a decent sweat in that 45-50 minutes.
03/16 - 359.3 - Interview went well. Money might not be great, but my long term plan is a state or federal government position. Other than excitement/nervousness limiting sleep, I feel pretty good. Another good 2.5 mile walk this morning. As of noon, I've already hit 10K steps for the day. Also, today was the conclusion of my 6 month DietBet (lose 10% in 6 months). I made it with an extra 1.2 lbs. Winner, winner, chicken dinner (oddly, I am having chicken for dinner).

I think it's because the small towns are more community-minded than the cities. When you know the majority of the community personally, it's easier to realise that you should leave resources for others and only take what you need!4 -

Day | Weight | Change | Comment
03/08 | 133.0kg | No change | Did get a bit of exercise in on Saturday, but didn't make the best food & drink choices.
03/09 | 133.0kg | No change | Relaxing weekend with the family. My little one started walking a few steps at a time this weekend so that's super exciting! He's 15 months so a little behind with it, but he's a big boy at 31.5 inches tall (half my height already!) and around 30lbs so I'm not surprised as he had more weight to lift and a higher centre of gravity to work with! We've known for a long time that he can do it, he just lacked the confidence so we've been working with him to build that up. So sweet to see his little face light up when he realised he was doing it himself!
03/10 | 133.0kg | No change | Actually tracked my calories yesterday and wound up under target! Drank 2L of water, should have been more though. Ate a very later dinner as we had a couple of parcels for our neighbour so he popped over to collect them and stayed for ~3 hours - he didn't leave until after 11pm and we still hadn't had dinner! So it was a quick bit of cheese & vegemite on toast for me, then off to bed around midnight which is going to make today hard due to a short sleep and unsatisfying dinner (it's 8am and I'm already ravenous). Will drink a lot of water today and get some exercise in since my planned ride on the stationary bike also didn't happen last night. On the bright side, I only ate half as much toast as I 'normally' would have at night (small victory, but also probably why I'm so hungry this morning). Onward & upward.
03/11 | 133.2kg | +0.2kg | Over target on calories and didn't do any exercise. I was just exhausted from the late night the night before and couldn't convince myself to do any exercise. Calories would have been a lot better if I had jumped on the bike while waiting for dinner to cook instead of eating a snack...
My little one has developed a cold (I think) so hoping I don't get that now too. Poor little guy, it's affecting his sleep so badly. We put the vapouriser on in his room last night and I think that helped.
03/12 | 133.3kg | +0.1kg | Still heading in the wrong direction. Did have a good day yesterday though - came in under calories (despite having takeaway burgers for dinner, I was able to limit myself to only a handful of chips). Also got 30 mins of exercise in, between walking at work and a quick 3-mile ride on my stationary bike before bed. Overall a good day yesterday.
03/13 133.0kg | -0.3kg | That’s better. Noticing a trend that I seem to gain in the earlier part of the week and then drop quickly at the end. Probably a result of my more relaxed approach on weekends. Overall trending down so that’s ok for now.
03/14 | 133.1kg | +0.1kg | Day off from work yesterday, spent the morning going through my little one’s clothes and packing away the too-small stuff. Relaxing afternoon and then did a quick 3 miles on the stationary bike before treating myself to a nice texting bath with a lime & coconut bath bomb and a green matcha face mask. Felt heavenly afterwards and had a good night of sleep! Did eat too much at lunch yesterday, but also drank a lot of water so overall an average day.
03/15 | 133.1kg | No change | relaxed weekend at home, though I did have to get some groceries so that was an adventure. Our town finally got a shipment of TP - some off-brand, 2-ply stuff but better than nothing! We actually don’t need any right now as it’s something I always keep spare of, so I did the right thing and left what little there was for others. We still have some items like pasta and rice on the shelves as well so hopefully it doesn’t get too bad here. Unfortunately my little guy is teething again so I needed to get some children’s paracetamol. We have two pharmacies in town. The first had none of the brand I trust, only an off brand so I grabbed some just in case. The other had one bottle left of our usual brand so I grabbed that one too. They have no idea when they’ll be able to restock and have run out of things like antibiotics because the ingredients come from China. Hopefully there’s an end to all this soon and things can go back to normal. Stay safe everyone.
03/16 | 132.8kg | -0.2kg | Actual scale dropped over a kg since yesterday, though I'm not really sure why. I kept up my water and didn't overeat too much yesterday, but I wouldn't have thought that would make that much difference. I suppose I must have been retaining water for a while! I don't think I'll make my round goal this time, but hopefully still post a loss anyway.
03/17 | 132.6kg | -0.2kg | The end of this round kind of snuck up on me, I hadn't realised it was today! Average day yesterday, ate fairly well and drank over 2.5L of water, but didn't do any exercise. I have come down with a cold (I hope) so taking some time to just let my body heal itself. Might try some yoga or something gentle tomorrow. My little one got this cold towards the end of last week, he's almost over it now so it's not a bad one. I have no fever so I'm fairly sure it's just a cold and not that other dreaded virus! I think that one is only just reaching my town now, I've heard of one person in hospital with it but that's not been confirmed.
ROUND SUMMARY
This round was full of ups and downs for me, both on the scale and in my daily life! I have this big ball of anxiety in my chest about the unknown future - I'm not worried about catching the virus myself as I'm young and don't have any of the additional risk factors, but I'm worried about what resources we won't be able to get with borders shutting down and production halting everywhere. It's hard to just take it one day at a time.
I didn't meet my goal for this round, but I still lost 0.4kg so I will take that! Now I just need to get over this cold and get myself moving again. See you all in round 108!8 -

Wednesday, 3/11: 155.3 - Almost back to Round 106 EW, it would be nice to get back to Round 105 EW and beyond : - ) Measuring 10 days at a time is such a good way to do it!

Day/Weight/Comment
03/07 …..200.1….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
03/08 …..201.0 ….. The exact correct food, the exact wrong quantity. I worked up quite an appetite cleaning out the shed next door. More boxes to go through today. Also I was booked out last night in the cabins so I am going to clean 75% of them today and the rest tomorrow so I can finish the shed project and stay caught up on the cabin laundry. An unusually beautiful day here. However, I don’t think I have been quite this tired in YEARS. Clock change really got me.
03/09 …..200.2 ….. Sunday is tourist cabin cleaning day. I did 75% of them and it’s laundry. The other 25% will be done today. School closed so no walking. Temps better outside but still too much ice so I didn’t risk it, especially when I already fell pretty hard last week. (no lasting injuries, thank Goodness). Worked on shed cleaning and burning again also. Grabbed at convenient food all day but have some pretty good and healthy choices in the house so not a total disaster. Overall, 71 Carbs & 1261 calories. I slept well last night but not enough water. I’ll work on that today. I’m getting in lots of steps & miles and good calorie burn so I just need to tighten my belt another notch.
03/10 …..199.8 ….. I thought I would have a HUGE WHOOSHING drop today because I really did great yesterday. But no TMI probably didn’t help. There is such conflicting information on whether “what time” you eat your meals makes a difference or if calories are just calories in a 24 hour period, no matter what. I’m curious because I read a lot of posts in many challenges about late meals. My last meal of the day is always about 2:00 A.M. I am usually asleep by 4:00 A.M. and get in the 4.5 to 5.5 hour range of sleep per night. My last meal is planned on purpose now to keep my blood sugars level (stop the severe drops) and to also prevent binge eating triggered by hunger. Yesterday I walked over 21,000 steps, over 9 miles, burned over 3200 calories. I ate 1383 calories and 32 carbs with both being in my perfect range. All of it was healthy food. My water intake was over 65 oz. Come on Whoosh! Any thoughts, anyone, on the timing of our meals?
03/11 …..199.8 ….. The drops in weight are leveling off apparently. Today I have taken a self-imposed rest day from practically everything. I am working hard at maintaining my diet but doing very little movement/exercise or work. I just need a mental break from all the “projects”. I hope the rest of the night goes as well as it has today in regards to my food plan. I’m just tired.
03/12 …..199.8 ….. 3 days running on the weight but all is well. Staying on course with eating plan. No walking or major exercise yesterday. A much lower step count but accomplished a few things at home, though I seriously tried not to be responsible for much of anything. I just needed some rest from responsibility to EVERYTHING. I’m afraid it was constantly interrupted and so I don’t feel I got what I needed, but I’ll try again another day. It’s hard to both live and work at home (my home sits on the same property as my motel and cabins that rent nightly). Staying the course.
03/13 …..200.2 ….. A small indiscretion leads to a gain as easy as 1+1=2. It doesn’t take a genius to figure this out, but sometimes I’m just downright stupid! I am totally bummed about the news last night that all the schools are closed. There goes my walking! I’m keeping fingers crossed for good weather soon, but for the past five years it has snowed into April and May (with a few nicer days here and there). Last April our biggest snow was 10” overnight. If it weren’t for all my kids and grandkids living here I would be somewhere else! I stuck to diet yesterday except for one cupcake. I walked at the school (not knowing it would be the last time for awhile!). I’m going to try to stay positive and not let this news derail me or my plans. Stay strong Donna. Stay strong!
03/14 …..199.9 ….. Yesterday was an okay day. Diet plan on the higher end of acceptable so the scale did okay today but probably could have been better. I missed walking. My son’s weigh in was great! He is down another 3 pounds. Go Johnny!
03/15 …..200.1 ….. Besides our schools, all of our city and government offices have also closed including our secretary of state, court systems etc. So far the banks are open but I’m not sure how long that will last. I am trying very hard not to stress eat, just like everyone else I suppose. In Michigan, this is getting pretty serious as far as our state government declarations and the panic/hoarding that is going on. Full grocery stores have already closed due to lack of food. No diapers can be found for my grandbabies, and that is going out of town to different towns since we are in the rural areas. No meat available within 150 miles of me according to my own family and friends.
No burger, no chicken etc. My one daughter was able to buy some big turkey legs and a little pork. This will be the first time in decades that there will be no corned beef for St. Patty's day in our homes. There are no known cases up in my area yet, but people are definitely panicking. Stay safe everyone. Food is already becoming scarce here unless you stocked up in time. Unlike most folks who live in these small cabin homes in my area, I do have a stand-up freezer in my garage with some stocked up meat. I should be okay for a bit. Let’s all do the best we can to stay healthy and eat the best we can.
03/16 …..200.7 ….. If we can get any food at all in northern Michigan we are lucky. No bread, milk, eggs, cheese, condiments, beef, chicken, TP, tissue, napkins, paper towels, kitty litter, larger size 4 & up baby diapers. No noodles or pasta of ANY kind, canned soup, canned veggies, frozen veggies, and thousands of other items. I stay fairly stocked up but I really need my distilled water for my bi-pap machine. I have went/called every large box store within 150 miles-zilch. No laundry soap, brillo pads, windex, alcohol, purell, -the list goes on and on. Stressed about home, but about business too. You can’t rent cabins and rooms without proper cleaning supplies AND TOILET PAPER. My stock will only last so long. They have also closed all our restaurants in the state, only drive-thru and carry out/delivery (no delivery services in my area). . I just feel bad for everyone trying to cancel their weddings since it’s been requested by the governor that all gatherings 50 people or more be cancelled. Well, I guess we are all in this together. Stay safe everyone! Please remember to help those you love and to share with ALL that are in need. Many of us may be called upon.

All will work out.
03/15 164.6 lbs, 🤗
It took 14 days to get back to this weight after my vacation. My mistake was not trying to stick to my diet on vacation. Learned how easy it is to gain weight if you don’t stick to your plan. Saying that I do believe most of it was water. When you up your carbs the water weight comes back 1st.

03/08 194.6 slow change, I’ll take it.
03/09 194.8
03/10 195.4 blech. No good reason for this, I was green for calories and had a good run. I have felt like I’m fighting a cold, though, so maybe I’m retaining water.
03/11 194.4 Ok, that’s more like it. Still very slow going but in the right direction.
03/12 194.4 Based on eating and exercise I think I “deserve” better than this...but at least it didn’t go up!
03/13 193.2 Patience wins the day, there’s the drop. May this continue! Have been eating well under calorie limit and pounding water. Also 2 walks yesterday.
03/14 194.4 This number again. 😠 But I ate a lot, late, and somewhat salty. Wasn’t “green” for calories but was well under maintenance at least. Hopefully pound water today and see a better number tomorrow.
03/15 193.8 hmm. Need more water and protein today.
03/16 194.4 This number again! I had really hoped for an additional drop. Again, no good reason...I ate within bounds, went out for a long walk.

MARYLAND Virus Updates ~ Everyday our lives are changing rapidly.
Bars, restaurants (carry out, drive throughs, food delivery allowed) movie theatres & gyms closed as of 5pm today. No gatherings over 50 people (community events, services, sporting events, etc) Closed hospital facilities to be reopened for use, Governor wants 6000 additional beds. Any health practioner with valid out of state license or expired M.D. license will be allowed to practice during the current emergency. Medical Reserve Corps activated. Air and Army National Guard activated over the past weekend. Executive Order prohibiting utilities, including water, gas/electricity, sewer, phone, internet/cable tv providers from being shutoff, no late fees. No tenant evictions. Two meals and a snack to be provided to children that need it, by federal waiver applied for by Supt. Of Schools.
Again today, I went to Aldi, Giant Foods, Safeway, Walmart. No eggs, very limited or no bread, short on canned goods, no chicken, limited beef. I only wanted a bag of flour, sugar and yeast for bread. Found flour at Aldi, sugar at Walmart, no yeast. Aldi had salmon today! We have 3 Asian Mkts in my neighborhood. I went to one today where I sometimes shop. All employees wore gloves and masks. Most shoppers had on masks, a few just gloves. They were FULLY stocked. I go there for vegetables and was not dissapointed. Bought 3 kinds of mushrooms, leeks and cauliflower for making soup. Keto is sort of on hold for now, but IF in full effect. DH and DS will be on OMAD whether they like it or not. Soup is going to be on the menu everyday. It's filling and I can make a huge pot of it. Visited all my little super spreaders😁 over the weekend and we'll keep in contact via video messaging a few times a week. I'm pretty sure we will be in total lockdown before long.
Keep your immune systems strong! 💓 Zinc, D3/K2💓

Goal: Improve Sleep - duration of 7hrs and score above 80; decrease BF; increase MM.
Day/Weight/Comment
3/8 161.0 lbs, 34.7%bf; 7h3m/74 - did not weigh the last couple of days because I was away, but this bounce is not surprising... been eating out a lot and drinking way more than usual. New week, new challenge.... recommit to the process.
3/9 162.0lbs, 34.9%bf; 7h54m/86 - better sleep but I have a big hole to dig out of. Workout this am and a good day of eating planned... should bounce back down quickly.
3/10 160.4lbs, 34.5%bf; 7h24m/80 - time change has me all messed up.... had a lot of trouble getting up today. 😴
3/11 159.8lbs, 34.3%bf; 3h13m/57 - Ugh! This is gonna be a tough day, after such a bad night.
3/12 160.4lbs, 34.5%bf; 7h53m/84 - meh....this round is feeling stalled. Isn't my first plateau, won't be my last - but they all feel crappy and frustrating.
3/13 160.0lbs, 34.4%bf; 6h59m/88 - thank God this week is almost over
3/14 159.6lbs, 34.3%bf; 8h34m/93 - wow, some REALLY decent sleep! Busy day ahead, so I will need it.
3/15 162.2lbs, 35.0%bf; 6h7m/74 - ugh, I'll be lucky to end this round down, never mind making goal.
3/16 DNW; 7h44m/83 - racing around to get ready and totally forgot to weigh in.
3/17 159.4lbs, 34.2%bf; 7h18m/83 - glad I got to the gym yesterday morning, because now it's closed. 😭 Not sure how I'll do during this next few weeks, but even if the wheels fall off, I know what to do to get it right again.

My 1st round:
Heaviest Weight: 403 lbs
Round Start Weight: 279.4
Round Goal Weight: 278 (-1.4 lbs)
Goals:
1) Be mindful of everything that goes into my mouth.
2) Drink 68 oz (around 2 L's) of water daily.
3) Walk as much as I'm able.
4) Aerobic exercise 3 times a week, for 20 minutes.
Day/Weight/Comment:
3/08: 284.8
3/09: 281 (-3.8lbs)
3/10: 280 (-1lb)
3/11: 279.4 (-.6 oz)
3/12: 280.4 (+1lb) Did really good all day with what I ate, then I sabotaged it by having a unhealthy dinner and overeating. It's a new day and giving up is not an option.
3/13: 279.4 (-1 lb) Lost the lb I gained. Working on not allowing myself to be tempted by food especially when I'm stressed about something.
3/14: DNW
3/15: 280.4 (+1 lb) Yo-yoing back & forth with the same lb. Sick with the common cold and I thought I'd start feeling better by now. So most of my goals have not been completed except the second one. Continue with the water intake to keep from becoming dehydrated.
3/16: 281.8 (+1.4) 🤧😷 😴
3/17: 279.4 (-2.4 lbs) Total of (-5.4 lbs) lost since (03/08)
