@speyerj, wonderful and true insight.
@izzysbizzy, welcome! Times are tough right now but everyone is still so supportive.
@mmccloy12, Iβm so sorry. Sending you hugs. Times are hard right now, weβre all here right now in the best way we can be for you.
I completed another home workout! Iβm so proud of myself because I hate working out at home. I kind of fell into a funk with school being all online and now my job, I just didnβt have a proper schedule for myself, but Iβve fixed that and I feel like I can breathe a bit easier again. Times are tough, and this is all new, so weβre all just trying to do the best we can.
Congratulations to everyone who had a loss! Youβre amazing.8 -
@Tarzan your breakfast and lunch sound yummy and healthy. Hope you sleep better soon.
@aliciap0116 good job finding a way to get the exercise in. I too have been having some issues with my sleep. I really like the point that Corrine makes that we arenβt social distancing but physically distancing. We still need to reach out with each other just electronically not in person.
@AlexandraFindsHerself I am hapy to see the progress and that is the best to enjoy the process.
@Terytha glad you are making progress
@MyBeth1 All the best finding the right exercise.
@MuttiNM I am glad your son completed his ride early and safely. You are doing well even with some challenges.
@izzysbizzy support is important.
@mmccloy Oh no! I am so sorry. I am worried what will happen at the end of the month with my job but I am more concerned for you.
@torihudson6 Good job with the home workouts. I set up a schedule for working from home then they closed my office and I am struggling to adjust again.
What I am seeing lately is very hard fought success despite hard challenges. I am proud of us if not only for supporting each other.
My daughter made Butter Chicken for dinner tonight, yum! I seem to have been able to do at least one important thing a day. Today I organized all my work clothes so they will be ready when ever we get back to work. Yesterday I organized a family budget so my husband and I can begin to plan for retirement in a few years. Of course now things may change but it will help to have the information. The day I did my at home work out. I am really concentrating on eating when I am hungry and not when I am not. I also have waited to eat breakfast. I got up earlier today but didn't eat breakfast until it was really brunch.8 -
I am definitely going to have a gain this week... And a bad one of that. Why does cheese have to be Soo good?!?!?11

I just can't have fruit can I. -_-
I tracked the start of my recent stall to the day I started snacking on grapes every day and the end to when I ran out. Previously apples and bananas gave me similar stomach issues.
I miss fruit.12 -

@mmcloy12 That's really awful for you! I hope you have people around that u can lean on and get support from!4

I miss fruit too. I have a fructose intolerance. I consider it some kind of wrong that I can eat a chocolate chip cookie with less misery than eating a fresh juicy pear.6 -
That is sad to not have fruit . I forgot to do my daily weigh in . I made a nice breakfast this morning. We had to get supplies this morning including TP for my 93 year old mother living in a retirement community. We can no longer see her but since she doesn't drive we need to keep her stocked with what she needs. She is picky about the quantity and type of TP she wants but I explained we can only get her what we can and that we are avoiding going out ourselves. I am lucky I have 2 siblings to share the burden with but we are all over 60 so we are at high risk too. Our texts about this were quite funny since my sister panicked and thought I said she was down to her last roll when I said last package (of rolls).
However since we had to go out for supplies I had my husband pick up some pastries and I made scrambled eggs. You can see I do not have any no list foods just what I can fit in my calorie goal. I have been having more like 2 meals and a snack now that I am home. I do have a lot of not worth it foods and I am very picky with sweets since I limit them. When I was working we had bigger breakfasts on the weekends and I actually lost then more often. Now I am actually eating healthier breakfasts during the week since I have time to make/prepare them myself and am not eating on the run. However this was just a special treat since my daughter is on spring break. Anyway I am finally losing better.8 -
I was going to say that my husband went early to the grocery store today because they have an hour set aside for seniors and those with special health conditions just after opening. Usually stores have just cleaned that night and there are less people around that early. Also it is newly stocked so that they don't have to go out again or to other stores to get everything they need as much.9

@BrownSugar174 @aliciap0116 @KeriA @torihudson6 @changeforeverlj thank you for the kind words. And wow...thank you for all the hugs! You guys are awesome. Cheered me right up!
It's so great to see everyone doing so well during this crazy time! I know it's a struggle but we can all get through it one day at a time. Establish new or temporary routines. Reach out and post. we are all in this together!
@aliciap0116 hope the sleep gets better! What a great opportunity to walk with your family! You are just rocking your goals!
@torihudson6 I know you miss your kick boxing, but it looks like you are doing great adding some things at home!
@KeriA I have enjoyed your posts! I like you can post in here more now
@MuttiNM so happy your son finished his bike trip and is home safe! What an accomplishment. Hope the pain in your leg gets better
@AlexandraFindsHerself1971 Yay on getting into a new size jeans! You are just killing it! Great job!
@Terytha that stinks about the fruit...hope you can find some that will work with your system. I have some foods that don't agree with me that i love...it stinks I know! I am rooting for you to hit 185 soon!
I know I probably missed a ton of people, sorry! I weigh in tomorrow...can't believe March is almost over!9 -

This month has been so hard. For everyone. Special hugs for @mmccloy12 about the job, @terytha about fruit, @KeriA about trying to help your mom, and for all of you. We're all going through a thing, but in spite of that, it's still very positive in here.
I didn't do as well as February, but my compliance wasn't as strict as February, so that explains it. I still did very well, and met my weight goal.
I've been outside more, playing with my kids more, and cooking more. Trying to look at the bright side of things.
It's been a weird month, but it's almost over. Bring it on, April.11 -
Friday weight in
Age: 30
Height 5'6"
SW 287lbs
3/20/20 279.8lbs
CW 281.8
So I had a bit of a gain, but it was expected... I just did not do well and snacked a lot of food I knew should not help. But it was not as bad as I thought it would be at least!
Things I learned...
Moderation is hard when it's something I like... Better to not even have it in the house.
It's okay if you less up and long as you get back on the wagon
Progress is a rollercoaster
You weigh less if you stand up straight π I actually did this today. Lost 2lbs just by standing up straight!
Goal for next Friday weight in (end of March beginning of April):
Major: 275lbs
Realistic π:278lbs
Non scale goal: don't go crazy and find a new job!8 -
Day one of our 21-day lock-down started. I can't say I'm not stressed about the future, but trying to just focus on the present time! I made pancakes for my son (And didn't have one!) I had quiet time, did chores, Lesley Sanson walking, I planted veggie seedlings (Hopefully they won't be eaten by something!). We walked and ran up our country driveway. Can't stop logging onto worldometer, this year has been crazy! The awful bushfires in Australia and now this Covid-19! I wonder if this lock-down is even enough! Good luck with all your weigh-ins! Mine is on Monday!9

It's been almost the whole month that I haven't been here in the group at all. March has not been my month emotionally AT. ALL. I was already feeling down since last month, I was trying so hard not to let my depression or anxiety get the best of me. The first week of March I tried Hasfit workouts with dumbbells, but I wasn't mentally ready for the weight gain I would experience because of water retention. So I stopped that. Truth be told, I stopped all exercise this month. Going back to square one with my weight really bummed me out.
The second week, I went grocery shopping with my husband, and I didn't think the stores would be empty because of all the panic buying people did!! My anxiety got the best of me, because what if I didn't get the NECESSARY things we needed?! It took us all weekend, a whole lotta stores, but we got most of the things we needed. But I did have my panic attacks in the car.
Then I realized this past few days that our health insurance is screwed up and it's been hard to fix it, especially since the offices are closed and they only attend people through phone calls, my worst enemy. It's all still up in the air... who knows when it will all get fixed. Still trying to work that out. But the first day I found out, I had a full blown panic attack... my husband found me crying, not being able to breathe... not even my meds were working for me that day.
That weight loss has been nothing more than me not eating because of my anxiety, my worries, my depression. I'm the type of person that doesn't eat, or barely eats when stress happens. It's not fun at all... good thing is, this whole "stay-at-home" thing we're doing is so normal to me, so I'm ok with that. If I think about it, I could totally do IF 16:8... although lately it's been something like 20:4. I haven't really logged my food. But I'm still here.9 -
My goals over the next few months are to stay physically, mentally and emotionally healthy. Many of us are the emotional center of our family. I'm working to stay calm, well informed and well rested.
Today was a good day. My husband and I walked 7.29 miles (16,856 steps). We started out early before it got really warm (81 degrees here today). We plan to walk three times a week and bike ride at least twice a week. I'm still working on yoga and pilates. Yesterday I moved the chairs on the porch, pulled out my yoga mat and did some stretching and yoga poses. It was nice. I haven't officially weighed in since 2/28. My goal is to stay under 230 pounds throughout this stressful time. I'd like to stay as close to my calories as possible (except for Friday) and burn at least 300-500 at least 5 days a week.
Our college senior is doing well with her online classes and "working at home" with her internship. The school refunded a portion of her dorm fee for the rest of the semester. They notified the students that all of their belongings will be packed and stored in the room until Fall semester..which will allow doctors and nurses from the local hospitals a place to lay their heads as they care for coronavirus patients. The school has put a secure packing process in place...they are working through a lot of moving parts but we will get through it.
One day at a time...

Great weigh in @Cupcake Crusoe. You made your goal! I am enjoying cooking too. Glad your getting outside time and kid time.
@nels5850 I think you know what to do and will do well. Thanks for the scale tip. I have to put my scale in just the same place or it wonβt register the same. Hope the job search goes well.
@changeforeverlj sounds like a successful day.
@Lasmartchika Congratulations in making it to Onderland but sorry it has been a hard time.
@BrownSugar nice exercise schedule. My college senior needs to find a job or internship for the summer but it seems hard to do if you are in a shut down. She will only have her capstone project to do after spring quarter. Glad yours found one.
Well I checked my work email to see if there was news about future plans since we had only had news up until Tuesday next week about the closure. They had sent something out yesterday. We have the decision about our job future. The shutdown with pay was extended to the end of next week. Then we have a week of leave with no pay unless we want to use our annual leave. Then we will be on temporary furlough until it is safe to return. It turns out we can file for unemployment. We will have health care benefits. So I won't be entirely unemployed next month and beyond. We will come back to work after it is safe with our same anniversary dates, positions, etc. I have been working on putting together our budget before this happened so this weekend we will see how this pencils out. I love my job but I do not want to go back to work if it isn't safe for me and others. I think we can get through this but we have our work cut out for us to make sure. At least I have a couple more paychecks coming or 1 1/2 paychecks anyway. I am close to my goal for the month but not sure whether I will make it before next Tuesday or not.
I started to get onto MFP and then asked my husband to go for a walk. This news sort of took up the day.9 -
Oh I forgot to say I requested to use comp-time and annual leave for the week before we go on furlough. I need to use the comp time up anyway and I have plenty of annual leave. So that will make 3 weeks with pay during the closure until the temporary furlough. I am glad my husband has been classified as an essential employee at his work.7

@KeriA Does the university have an online career center program which would allow your student to search jobs, upload a resume and communicate with potential employers? GWU has an online career center program called HandShake which allows the students to apply for on campus jobs, internships and permanent jobs with what seems to be a thousand employers. Her major/minor is international affairs/political science. Between using HandShake and her networking sheβs had internships in her field since her freshman year. She started this internship with a DC based political consulting firm in January. What is your childβs major?5

Today should be relatively quiet. I want to begin staging the rooms we don't use much and doing some cleaning upstairs so that I don't have to do it in a hurry later. There's some laundry to fold that I finished last night, and some ironing to do, which I actually like.
Lunch today should be coney dogs and chips and pickles, and I have lamb meatballs to use up in the freezer, so we'll have lamb curry with cashews and spinach and rice for dinner. I make my own meatballs with a small portioning scoop, bake them on a rack over a sheet pan, then freeze them. I can toss the right quantity, still frozen, into the sauce and let them warm through in there. But we are getting ready to move, and the initial panic buying seems to be over in my neck of the woods, so I'm going to return to trying to use up the stuff in the big freezer.
Boyfriend is sick because (well, let's be honest) he did something stupid and ingested something poisonous. He spent yesterday in bed, and he may spend a large chunk of today in bed as well. He did get up in the night and have a bowl of cereal, because I saw the dirty dishes, so at least there's something in his system.6 -
@Lasmartchika, yip the anxiety is real isn't it! I read that we will react to this like being in a state of war! We will go through, being positive and productive, to detached, to depressed and angry and then finally acceptance of the uncertainty. I'm going to listen to a Brene Brown podcast about flying solo.
@AlexandraFindsHerself1971, Gosh your supper sounds good! When I open my freezer all I see is a whole lot of chicken that I need to cook from scratch! I want to find a peri-peri recipe online as I forgot to buy my usual Nando's supply! And we like spicy food!
@KeriA I've only been on this group for a week but wanted to say you are so thoughtful and supportive! Thank you! Glad you still have a few paychecks to rely on!
@Brownsugar, I couldn't have said it better...One day at a time! I love your goals!3
