@marisap2010 - I also could never do the pull-ups. Even after all the strength training I have done and I am pretty strong now, I still can't do one. I was so impressed when @katharmonic decided to challenge herself until she could do one. Maybe there is still hope for me someday...

@shanaber there is! You can do totally do it, if I can anyone can. It just took a really long time and it is still hard. Which, thank you for reminding me I haven't done mine yet today! I have to say that having accomplished a pull-up and climbing a rope in the past year might just be one of my proudest accomplishments especially when I think back to the total hopelessness I felt about those back in gym class days.
@kgirlhart great running!! I bet you could totally smash that time in an actual race.

We now are supposed to do our shopping and going out only on certain days based on our birth year. I am an even year, so Tues/Thurs/Saturdays are my days. I'm somewhat skeptical of this plan actually cutting down the number of people in stores or the amount people go out, but I'm also worried they are going to extend it to going out of the house at all (i.e. to parks or out of your neighborhood). So I went today to comply with my day and then I ran a trail right near the store.
The marathon a week challenge is accomplished for Week 1! Even a few extra miles. I think that's my highest week total in several months.

@skippygirlsmom - yah I am not sure what the deal is with people going to the stores and buying everything up (still) here. If you can't get there early in the morning or the morning after a shipment comes in they are (still) out of most all staples, soup, pasta, breads, etc..
@shanaber We went through that about 3 weeks ago, then people start to realize that their squirrel pile of food is getting way to big and things get back to normal - or close to normal if you exclude sanitizers and TP.
After seeing the mad buying that occurs before/after natural disasters ( Hurricane/Tornadoes) I think some of that mentality/memory floods back into people and they just can't resist. Can't imagine the buying spree that the Disaster Prepers have gone through above what they already have hoarded away. I remember the last time I moved I just quit buying ( except milk and fruit ) - lived on what was in the fridge -cupboards and 2 weeks later when I packed up I still had more dry/canned goods than I wanted to move.

Here stores are pretty well stocked now. Plenty of paper products even. Just picked up some more Clorox wipes today even. We are in week 4 of "stay at home" though so at this point the panic buyers are like "umm where am I going to put the 600th roll of tp again?" so the stores are catching up. Also, more stores have limited "1 per person" on the biggest panic buys. That really helped too.
Still have not seen any hand sanitizer in any store though. Plenty of soap though.
Not quite back to pre-corona days, but we are getting there.3 -

No run today but I did ride bikes with my son and do an awesome workout focusing on guts and butts.
Also prepped dinner for tomorrow - pot roast. So this week i guess I’m not going to be plant based for a couple of days because I have meat on the menu for Easter too. I found ribeyes on Sunday and I am aging them for the holiday meal.
I also worked ten hours and caught up on laundry and This Is Us and helped kids with homework and made my lunch for tomorrow. Pleasant evening. This lock down situation has cut out a lot of the evening appointments and errands and I am really enjoying that at least!
@LoveyChar I am at 36 miles for April so far! Girl we got this! Keep going!
I signed up for the 10K for this weekend’s Uncanceled Project race. I’ll have the kids so even that will be hard to fit in plus I’ll be on my feet so much for Easter stuff.
The theme this week is Hope. Gratitude was easy for me.
Hope is different.
I HOPE that.......
The virus can be snuffed out.
That the future I want for my kids is still possible - i hope that life as we know it isn’t over.
I hope we can all have peace and maintain our joy.
I hope we can be kind to each other.
So many things to keep hoping for. I hope we don’t forget that.5 -

A loop of the park. Not much to report.
Started a handstand progression plan yesterday. We'll see how this goes.

Today was gorgeous. Today was the day I was supposed to have yesterday when I had all day to have a lovely long run. But I got my run in, and got a little bit extra mileage in. 2.7 today, in shorts and a tank... it was awesome.
In terms of stores, the ones here obviously didn’t have much for cleaning supplies besides straight up, good old fashioned bleach. (See previous post where my improvisation -and MAYBE my hack saw- made the boyfriend nervous.) However.... my little sister can work from home, and doesn’t leave the house often....and apparently she loves me.And she found stuff..... and apparently she knows how to send stuff via UPS teleport (arrived less than 24 hours from when she sent it!!!). Love in the time of corona....
And also.... on our other controversial subject....My food choices tend to reflect my mental state. Today, I apparently was feeling rather childish and was in need of childhood comfort food. So, here is how I hotdogged today.
2.7 today = 8.9/505 -
I think Hal is trying to kill me. He demanded fast hill repeats of me today. Already have DOMS from strength training on Monday and what I thought was going to be a light, suitable for rest day 'marching' workout with the family yesterday which turned out to include hidden squats. Ugh. Got it done, but not sure I'll be able to move much later or tomorrow!
I tried programming the workout onto Garmeen the drama queen for the first time for today's run. Mini-me says she woke up to the sound of my feet pounding the treadmill and my voice swearing at my watch every time it told me I wasn't going fast enough... Her vocabulary of choice expletives in English is certainly improving thanks to this confinement lark!

@kgirlhart Great job! Your splits were awesome!1

Last night I only got in one mile before the heavier rain came in, but I followed it up with some arm strength training indoors.5

@PastorVincent Our stores have a limit on some items too. It's great, until you realize that some people, like myself, are shopping for 3 households. If there is a limit of one and everyone needs said item, two will have to do without until next time. I'm not sure how they can get around this issue.
@eleanorhawkins I love your relationship with Hal. I think he loves you and wants you to be the best you can be. Glad your daughter is increasing her vocabulary.3 -

We had thunderstorms with heavy rain last night -- just what we needed to ruin today's fishing. This morning was cloudy and mid 50s - just about perfect running weather. Hip felt as good as it has in a while.

We buy for more than one household too. I just buy what I can, leave, send my son in to get the next batch, and then get more the next day. Then I can distribute it to the households. So far that has covered me. If I have to do more I will go to customer service and just ask. As a pastor, my job is still "life-sustaining" so I can probably play that card if need be. For now, a little extra work gets me around it.
